Air Force Error Allowed Texas Gunman to Buy Weapons

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Tex. — A day after a gunman massacred parishioners in a small Texas church, the Air Force admitted on Monday that it had failed to enter the man’s domestic violence court-martial into a federal database that could have blocked him from buying the rifle he used to kill 26 people.

Under federal law, the conviction of the gunman, Devin P. Kelley, for domestic assault on his wife and toddler stepson — he had cracked the child’s skull — should have stopped Mr. Kelley from legally purchasing the military-style rifle and three other guns he acquired in the last four years.

“The Air Force has launched a review of how the service handled the criminal records of former Airman Devin P. Kelley following his 2012 domestic violence conviction,” the Air Force said in a statement.

The statement said Heather Wilson, the Air Force secretary, and Gen. David Goldfein, the Air Force chief of staff, had ordered the Air Force inspector general to “conduct a complete review of the Kelley case.”

The Air Force also said it was looking into whether other convictions had been improperly left unreported to the federal database for firearms background checks…

American Radicals Colluding With ISIS, Al-Qaeda to Destroy Trump, Claims Author

By NWV Senior Political News Writer, Jim Kouri

“In America, you are entitled to your own opinion. But you are not entitled to overthrow the democratically elected president of the United States and inflict irreparable damage on our country. That, however, is what Donald Trump’s enemies on the Left and Right are doing. Through a variety of underhanded tactics?lies, leaks, obstruction, and violence?they are working to delegitimize President Trump and drive him from office before he can drain the swamp and take away their power.” — Edward Klein

“Former President Barack Obama has been holed up in his Washington, D.C. mansion smoking marijuana, eating cannabis-infused Gummy Bears and playing video games, according to an explosive new book from Edward Klein.” — Todd Starnes, Fox News Contributor, Talk Host…

A new book by a former editor in chief of The New York Times Magazine and best-selling author reveals for the first time an FBI field report about the collusion between American anti-Trump radicals and foreign ISIS/al-Qaeda operatives.

In his latest book, All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump, set to be released on Tuesday, Oct. 31, Edward Klein reveals to the public findings from an FBI investigation into the shocking ties between far-left radicals in America and Islamist extremists.

Dallas Man Arrested at White House After Allegedly Threatening to Kill ‘All White Police’

A man was arrested Monday near the White House Monday for allegedly threatening to kill “all white police” at the residence.

The Secret Service was notified to be on the lookout for the man who had “reportedly traveled to Washington, D.C., for the purpose” of carrying out the alleged threat, according to a statement. The Secret Service said they were tipped off by Montgomery County, Maryland, Police Department.

“Secret Service personnel at the White House immediately increased their posture of readiness and began searching for [the suspect],” the Secret Service’s statement reads, adding that the suspect “was observed by Secret Service personnel on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue near Lafayette Park.”

Sister: Walmart Slaying Suspect Heard Voices After Drug Trip

DENVER — The stepsister of a man charged with fatally shooting three people at a Colorado Walmart said he has been tormented by voices in his head since taking LSD nearly 30 years ago — an event she said radically changed his behavior and personality.

“When he came home, he was terrified. He had voices in his head. Demons,” Michelle Willoughby told The Denver Post in an interview posted online Monday.

Prosecutors filed multiple counts of first-degree murder and attempted-murder charges Monday against Scott Ostrem, 47, Willoughby’s stepbrother.

Ostrem is accused of walking into a Walmart in the Denver suburb of Thornton on Wednesday and fatally shooting a woman and two men. Prosecutors have still not offered any clues into possible reasons for the attack.

“Can’t talk about a motive yet, thanks,” Adams County District Attorney Dave Young said Monday…

Texas Gunman Broke Child’s Skull, Assaulted Wife, In Troubled Life

NEW BRAUNFELS, Tex. — He beat his wife, cracked his toddler stepson’s skull and was kicked out of the military. He drove away friends, drew attention from the police and abused his dog. Before Devin P. Kelley entered a rural Texas church with a military-style rifle, killing at least 26 people on Sunday, he led a deeply troubled life in which few in his path escaped unscathed.

In 2012, while stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, Mr. Kelley was charged with assault, according to Air Force records, which said he had repeatedly struck, kicked and choked his first wife beginning just months into their marriage, and hit his stepson’s head with what the Air Force described as “a force likely to produce death or grievous bodily harm.”

“He assaulted his stepson severely enough that he fractured his skull,” said Don Christensen, a retired colonel who was the chief prosecutor for the Air Force, adding, “He pled to intentionally doing it.”

Prosecutors withdrew several other charges as part of their plea…

German Army ‘Plans for Break Up of the European Union’ In War Game Scenario

The German army has war-gamed the break up of the European Union in study of security crises that could face the country by 2040.

Military planners in Berlin played out a scenario in which a growing number of countries follow Britain in leaving the EU, resulting in an “increasingly disorderly” world, Der Spiegel reported.

“The EU enlargement has been largely abandoned, more states have left the bloc,” strategists wrote in a study cited by the magazine.

“The increasingly disorderly, sometimes chaotic and conflictual world has dramatically changed the security policy environment for Germany and Europe.”

Der Speigel said the study could inform German armaments programs in the next several years.

The scenario was one of six examined in a study of security challenges German generals believe could unfold over the next 23 years.

Italy: Silvio Berlusconi’s Center-Right Bloc Wins Regional Elections in Sicily

The 81-year-old veteran of Italian politics is on course for a stunning political comeback in next year’s national general election. His center-right bloc may not have much to fear from the ruling Democratic Party.

Nello Musumeci, a center-right candidate backed by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, was set on Monday to be named the winner of Sunday’s regional election in Sicily, Italy.

Musumeci’s coalition, which included Berlusconi’s party, Forza Italia, as well as the Northern Leagueand Fratelli d’Italia, won 39.9 percent of the vote with 93 percent of ballots counted.

The populist Five Star Movement’s (M5S) candidate, Giancarlo Cancelleri, received 34.6 percent of the vote, almost doubling its result compared to the last regional elections in 2012.

The Inside Story of the Saudi Night of Long Knives

The House of Saud’s King Salman devises an high-powered “anti-corruption” commission and appoints his son, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, a.k.a. MBS, as chairman.

Right on cue, the commission detains 11 House of Saud princes, four current ministers and dozens of former princes/cabinet secretaries — all charged with corruption. Hefty bank accounts are frozen, private jets are grounded. The high-profile accused lot is “jailed” at the Riyadh Ritz-Carlton.

War breaks out within the House of Saud, as Asia Times had anticipated back in July. Rumors have been swirling for months about a coup against MBS in the making. Instead, what just happened is yet another MBS pre-emptive coup.

A top Middle East business/investment source who has been doing deals for decades with the opaque House of Saud offers much-needed perspective: “This is more serious than it appears. The arrest of the two sons of previous King Abdullah, Princes Miteb and Turki, was a fatal mistake. This now endangers the King himself. It was only the regard for the King that protected MBS. There are many left in the army against MBS and they are enraged at the arrest of their commanders.”

To say the Saudi Arabian Army is in uproar is an understatement. “He’d have to arrest the whole army before he could feel secure.”

Prince Miteb until recently was a serious contender to the Saudi throne. But the highest profile among the detainees belongs to billionaire Prince al-Waleed Bin Talal, owner of Kingdom Holdings, major shareholder in Twitter, CitiBank, Four Seasons, Lyft and, until recently, Rupert Murdoch’s Newscorp.

Al-Waleed’s arrest ties up with a key angle; total information control. There’s no freedom of information in Saudi Arabia. MBS already controls all the internal media (as well as the appointment of governorships). But then there’s Saudi media at large. MBS aims to “hold the keys to all the large media empires and relocate them to Saudi Arabia.”

So how did we get here?

The secrets behind the purge

The story starts with secret deliberations in 2014 about a possible “removal” of then King Abdullah. But “the dissolution of the royal family would lead to the breaking apart of tribal loyalties and the country splitting into three parts. It would be more difficult to secure the oil, and the broken institutions whatever they were should be maintained to avoid chaos.”

Instead…

Russia Accuses EU of Double Standards

RUSSIA has accused the European Union of hypocrisy over its handling of the Catalonian independence crisis.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has imposed direct rule over the wealthy Catalan region after dissolving its regional parliament following a controversial referendum.

EU officials have always maintained the secession crisis is a domestic matter for Spain, and European bosses rejected pleas by now-ousted leader Carles Puigdemont for help in mediating secession talks with Madrid.

More than 1,000 Catalans were reportedly injured on October 1 as Spanish national police tried to close polling stations and seize ballot boxes.

And now Russia has hit back at Brussels MEPs for their double standards and claimed its annexation of Crimea in 2014 was no different from the Spanish Government’s actions in Catalonia.

Trump Heads to Seoul, Bringing Him Near to Kim Jong un’s Doorstep

President Donald Trump arrived in South Korea on Tuesday for a two-day visit, bringing him near North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on a stop that will also feature talks on a trade deal he says hurts U.S. workers.

The second leg of his five-nation Asia trip includes a meeting with U.S. troops, a joint press briefing with President Moon Jae-in and an address to South Korea’s parliament. In contrast to Trump’s with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, his dealings with Moon got off to rocky start due to differences over trade and dialogue with North Korea.

“Getting ready to leave for South Korea and meetings with President Moon, a fine gentleman,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning. “We will figure it all out!”

Trump and Moon are likely to show a united front against Kim, even while underlying tensions remain. South Korea hosts more than 28,000 U.S. troops and relies on the alliance to deter a North Korean attack…

The teen came to Germany in 2015 but was only given a brief written questionnaire by the agency, Westfaelische Rundschau reports.

Merkel’s Migrant Policy Has Made Germany the Terrorist Hub of Europe — Security Services

ANGELA Merkel’s open door migrant policy has turned Germany into the terrorist hub of Europe, security services have revealed.

More than 9,000 suspected terrorist plots against European countries have been discovered in recent years, according to German intelligence services.

Security experts revealed in a report, seen by the Sunday Times, most of the recent cases are linked to migration of late 2015, when Germany opened its borders to Middle Eastern refugees to avoid a humanitarian emergency.

Merkel’s Nightmare: Germany on Brink of 2nd Election Amid Coalition Deadlock on Migrants

ANGELA Merkel’s efforts to form a new government could be dashed as potential coalition partners clash over the country’s migrant issue.

Mrs Merkel must bring together the Greens, the liberal Free Democrats (FDP) and her own conservative bloc to secure a majority after a poor performance in the recent election.

If negotiations collapse then a new national vote would be called.

The question of migrants threatens to deepen the deadlock as the parties cannot agree on the issue.

The divide between the parties widens as the debate on migrants continues to focus on setting a formal cap and the conditions for reuniting families.

  1. On the Air Force error in not posting that Dishonorable Discharge: Is there a fail safe system in place that would prevent this kind of ‘error’ from being a recurring error? If there is such a system in place then how come this particular individual’s DD didn’t make the list?

    Was it deliberate?

The Air Force has been working hand in hand with the CIA ever since the establishment of the CIA and on some very secretive experiments.

I wonder how many other DDs have not been reported over the decades?

  3. With you permission I will keep posting links to events in the middle-east as they bare watching. I use all sources I can find that at least provide insight, if not verified facts. Obviously that will include sites or opinion that are not to everyone’s taste… my view is that if you cannot learn to decipher and gain knowledge from doing so then you should not be reading them. I choose to post here because this topic has a profound, if indirect, influence on the ones covered by GoV.

Here is a good intro into the concept of moderate Islam in the ME, as viewed by AJZ, hence Iranian influenced. It does point out clearly what drives critical thought in the region, the more secular/modernist trend is still only a veneer to the greater reality. Some are also expecting a backlash in the Sunni kingdoms.

Finally zerohedge brings evidence to hint at Israeli involvement

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-11-07/leaked-secret-israeli-cable-confirms-israeli-saudi-coordination-lebanon

As anyone might know, a lot of what goes on openly is agenda to form a counter-agenda, counter-intelligence etc. , it is very hard to draw any conclusion, but simply that powerful wheels are in motion reveals that the resolution of Syrian hegemony is having a profound regional effect now, it may lead to new forms of confrontation between the various sides.

  4. An important piece of the puzzle I just came across at a site of a central European I follow. He claims that the reason the loony left favors Islam is — this we already know — that see Islam as an effective weapon to bring the western system down; the thing I did not see before is that they claim that once Islam brings about this “better” state of things, it will conveniently die.

I can hardly believe my eyes. They recycled the old Marx canard — or was it Lenin’s? — that once the dictatorship of the proletariat is established, the state will conveniently fade away. So suck up Islam, suck up dictatorship of the comrades, because those things are the gateway to Utopia! AAARGH! Tell me it ain’t so, Joe…

    • The Ummah will liquidate degenerate leftists and lose nary a wink of sleep over it.
