3 Dead After Shooting at a Colorado Walmart, Suspect Arrested

The man wanted for a deadly shooting at a Walmart in Colorado on Wednesday night has been arrested after an hours-long manhunt, police said.

The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Scott Ostrem, was taken into custody this morning, according to the Thornton Police Department. He was considered “armed and dangerous” while on the run, police said.

Two men and one woman were killed in what police described as a “random” shooting…

Feds: Fayetteville Man Recruited for ISIS

RALEIGH, N.C. — Days after a terror attack in New York City, federal charges have surfaced against a Fayetteville man accused of backing ISIS.

In sealed documents released Wednesday, federal agents say 43-year-old Houcine Becher Ghoul pledged support for terrorist acts, even claiming that he recruited new members for Islamic State forces.

A criminal complaint filed on July 27 charges Ghoul with attempted unlawful procurement of citizenship or naturalization and filing a false tax return. He is now being held in the Franklin County jail.

Gregg Jarrett: Still No Evidence of Trump-Russia ‘Collusion’ — But Hillary is a Different Matter

This was proof positive, they insisted, that Trump “colluded” with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. Their exuberance was the equivalent of a two day-long tailgate party. Too bad it was premature.

The celebration came to a crashing end when the indictments of Paul Manafort and his business associate, Rick Gates, were unsealed Monday morning. It turns out the charges are, basically, a tax fraud case. The two men stand accused of hiding their income from their lobbying work for Ukraine in order to avoid paying taxes, then lying about it. That’s it…

Key Issue in Steinle Trial: Was Shooter’s Act Intentional or Accidental

Since the trial of Garcia Zarate began, the jury has been subjected to the testimony of numerous witnesses, including bystanders who were nearby when Kate Steinle was fatally shot on July 1, 2015. Others providing testimonies included police officers and forensic experts. There were cellphone videos showing a figure, presumed to be Zarate, walking away from Steinle immediately following the shooting, and throwing something into the bay. There was an intense interrogation of the off-duty BLM ranger whose weapon, which was stolen from his car four days earlier, was used by Zarate in the shooting of Steinle.

NY Times Promotes Antifa-Communist Coup Effort Against Trump for Nov 4

“This Nightmare Must End: THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO!”

So declare the opening lines of a full-page advertisement in the New York Times promoting mayhem and insurrection for this Saturday, November 4.

“Nov. 4 It Begins,” the ad continues. “Join with the thousands who will gather in cities and towns across the country. A movement of protests that continue every day and night, growing until we become millions… determined now to stop until this regime is driven from power.”

[Comment: That liberal rag is so pressed for money that they would accept any advertising.]

Safe Streets Project Vows to Disrupt Antifa, Black Bloc Domestic Terror Riots on Nov. 4

An organization called Refuse Fascism has more far-left protests planned all over the country to commemorate the election of Donald Trump and the electoral upset on November 4. This could spin out of control quickly. “Regime change,” as they call it, is the goal, yet they claim they are not trying to overthrow the government or disenfranchise millions of voters who voted for Donald Trump. The idea is to take to the streets until Trump and Pence resign. Seriously. This footage of Refuse Fascism activists hyping the coming chaos was taken on Halloween night on the streets of Chicago.

Refuse Fascism claims their protests will be nonviolent. But domestic terror groups Antifa and Black Bloc, may have other plans. Ivan Throne’s organization, Safe Streets Project, is planning to be in Austin, Texas, this weekend to document, identify, and help curb any violence.

Stephen Hawking Says AI Robots Will Replace Humans Someday

Popular physicist Professor Stephen Hawking recently stated his belief that A.I.-powered robots will replace humans completely someday.

In a recent interview with WIRED magazine, Stephen Hawking stated his belief that one day, artificial intelligence will reach the level where it will essentially be a “new form of life that will outperform humans.” Hawking reportedly said, “I fear that A.I. may replace humans altogether. If people design computer viruses, someone will design A.I. that improves and replicates itself. This will be a new form of life that outperforms humans.”

In an open letter to EU chiefs Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk some of the continent’s most prominent experts branded Madrid’s response an “undisputable abuse of power” that must be tackled.

They said PM Mariano Rajoy’s actions in suppressing the referendum and disbanding the Catalan parliament “constitute a violation of the Rule of Law” that needs to be probed by authorities.

And they warned a failure to act would look hypocritical given Brussels’ active stance on Poland and Hungary’s transgressions and that this would “risk causing long-term damage to the Union”.

“Tomorrow Will be Ugly” : Venezuela to Restructure All Debt as Creditors Panic Over Imminent Default

One week ago, we and many others wondered, if the time has finally come for Venezuela, which was facing a “no grace period” $842 million principal payment for bonds issued by state-run energy company PDVSA, to default on its billions of unrepayable obligations. As we reported then, the liquidity crisis for Venezuela was especially acute because even if it did make the first PDVSA payment, it was facing a second, even larger one today, when PDVSA had to make another $1.121BN payment.

Well, despite a several day transfer delay, Venezuela did make the first payment, however it was not clear if Caracas would also make today’s payment, although as Reuters reported earlier, “markets remained optimistic that President Nicolas Maduro’s government will make the payment, though investors expect delays. PDVSA last week struggled for days to deliver funds for a separate bond payment amid confusion over which banks were charged with transferring the money.”

PDVSA bonds were down slightly in early trading on Thursday, while Venezuelan bonds were mixed, according to Thomson Reuters data.

However, as we previewed again last week, and as Reuters confirmed today, “most economists say a default is increasingly likely in the medium term as Venezuela’s collapsing socialist economic model has left the once-prosperous population destitute and led to deterioration of the OPEC nation’s vital oil industry.”

  1. So Spain decides to lock away its secessionists? How very fascist of them! There are reflections here of 1916 Ireland and what the English did to Irish Patriots. In the end, jailing those who want no part of Spanish rule will come back to haunt the Spanish government and those who support the government’s actions.

    It’s almost guaranteed!

  2. “The Spanish government has arrested nine Catalan leaders for their part in the recent referendum and declaration of independence in Catalonia.”

Well I can see all this having a happy ending…….

  3. Stephen Hawking Says AI Robots Will Replace Humans Someday

What is this a mantra? Repeating same BS over and over again? A man with a speaking box on his neck speaks?

With all respect to the real Stephen Hawking, this smells media propaganda, predictive programming for future drone wars?

  4. If it’s ok to post here, Louder with Crowder did some Antifa infiltration and posted a video about it a while ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmNz2jGzsDA Not sure if it was mentioned here before, but it’s pretty unsettling, especially the part with the media. Don’t know how to feel about having Antifa supporters in our parliament now, while everyone who voted for them keeps acting like they’re our saviours…

  5. Hard to believe Russell Crowe is a bleeding heart wimp.

In Cologne, the more things change the more they stay the same.

Sick and tired of Catalonia – either start a guerrilla army or stop wasting everyone’s time. See Yemen for an example.

Oh wait….the average Yemeni is far, far tougher and more durable than the typical soft, decadent Catalan.

    • Crowe is typical of the ‘star’ mentality who like to parrot what their peers utter. He knows full well that the chance of him giving ‘refuge’ to four undocumented illegals is zilch – therefore, he is a hypocrite as well.

  6. Dear all, regarding Catalonia: please inform yourselves before automatically considering secessionists as the good guys and Spain as a fascist repressor. In fact the secessionists have conducted a coup while enjoying the largest degree of autonomy and self-government in Europe for the last 39 years. 55% of the Catalan population are proud of being Spaniards as well as being from Catalonia, and want to remain a Spanish region. Spain is as much Catalonia as Catalonia is a part of Spain.

The Catalan nationalist agenda is spearheaded by radical leftists and anarchists who are very much within the antifa ideological universe. They are allied with the Catalan economic burgeoisie who cuddled with Franco’s fascists during the dictatorship.

You can start understanding the Catalan nationalist agenda with looking at just two facts: they mass imported mostly Moroccan migrants: from 30.000 in the mid-90s to 500.000 today, within a total 6 M people in Cataluña.

The New York Times ran a propaganda op-ed piece by the already former regional vice-president, Oriol Junqueras. Check it out:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/01/opinion/catalonia-independence-spain.html

the photo of the propaganda piece shows 2 veiled women demonstrating for independence, each wearing a Catalan secessionist flag niqab-style. It was a 19-year old, Cataluña-born Moroccan who expressed his gratitude for the welcome and opportunities afforded to his community by murdering 16 people running them over with a van in Barcelona in August (plus maiming and injuring nearly one hundred others).

Most of the Mohammedans of Catalonia want independence because they know they will more easily assert themselves in a hypothetically independent Catalonia. And because at their present growth rate, they could make it the first Islamic republic of Europe. The Catalan nationalist suicidal embrace of a population that loathes the very freedoms the secession claim they lack (and which they have since 1978) is yet further proof that Western European nations have reached a point of no return and are marching happily towards doom.

Don’t write off Spain as an authoritarian ogre! Remember the reconquista!

    • What makes you think I don’t know all that??

Evidently you were not reading this blog when I posted my first piece on the Catalan referendum.

  7. *A convicted terrorist from Gothenburg has been hospitalized after a near four-month-long hunger strike while serving life in prison for his involvement in Syria beheadings.*

If he chooses not to eat/drink, that’s his choice. Could his hospital bed be offered to someone more deserving?

*[His mother] wrote that her son is in need of “some care and compassion which there is a lack of in the facility, with prison guards and people he doesn’t know”.*

Yeah, like the care and compassion he showed towards others while in Syria (and likely in Sweden, before he went overseas to kill, torture and maim.

Give him a one way ticket to the cemetery.

  8. Dear Baron,

You’re right, I missed your first piece. I am relieved. In any case, I did see a couple of knee-jerk posts putting the Catalan secessionists on the same camp as the brexiteers. It’s actually the opposite: they’re desperate to remain in the EU if they were every to successfully secede.

Thank you for your objectivity. The Catalan self-coup against their own regional system is equivalent to what happened in Sarajevo in 1914.

    • Rodrigo-

Agreed. I have also tried to point this out to those who think Catalonia is some amazing democratic laboratory.

Not if one realizes their plan is to immediately join the EU and take whatever number of migrants Mutti demands.

Catalonia would then be reduced to a useless rump state on a downward trajectory that ends in a mini-caliphate.

Complements on your excellent English. I wish my Spanish was 50% of your English skill.

    • You must mean that you saw comments, rather than posts, cheering on the secessionists in Catalonia. I’m well aware that Catalonia is one of the most Communist enclaves in Europe. I never act as a cheerleader for it. The foreign policy (not to mention the internal policy) of an independent Catalonia would be ghastly.

On the bright side, a Spain without Catalonia would be unlikely to elect another Socialist government right away.

      • Baron-

Just stopping to point out that the politics of an independent Catalonia would collapse their tourist-centric economy because no one is going to visit a Barcelona that transforms into a pit overrun with mosques and mujahids.

A Catalonia flooded with immivaders would instantly become the sick man of the EU, even worse off economically than Portugal or Greece.

  9. Snoop Dogg Poses Over ‘Dead Trump’s’ Body in New Album Cover

It goes without saying (then why say it?), that all of us know what the outcome would be if Trump was caught even having barely imagined hovering—for more than a picosecond—over the wide-awake, actively blinking, un-perforated, and regrettably intact excrescence of Calvin Cordozar Broadus Junior’s supremely lamentable waste of oxygen-thieving epidermis.

Poop Snog … er, I mean, Scroop Log … Coop Nog … Drupe Wog … Hoop Cog … Group Flog … Sloop Bog … Troop Blog … Stoop Grog … Loop Jog … Soup Hog … bloody hell! … you know what I mean!

As in, this ambulatory, barely-pinched loaf’s, allusion to murdering a President merits him getting his clock cleaned—if only for incitement. Consider the outcome of Trump striking a similar pose over BHO.

    You can stop laughing now…

Dupe Frog has all the relevance of a well-used prophylactic. Too bad he (and his fan) doesn’t realize it. His “artistic snakement” is little other than a reptilian-level of overly glorified tantrum-throwing.

    Quelle surprise!
