The Romanian coast guard interdicted a boat on the Black Sea that was carrying 87 migrants towards the Romanian coastline. Meanwhile, French police clashed with migrants once again near the port of Calais.

1 Charged With Attempted Murder After Car Wash Shooting
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Portland police say a Virginia man has been charged with attempted murder after shots were fired in a car wash parking lot.
The shooting was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday at the ScrubaDub car wash on Forest Avenue.
Police say a 22-year-old Westbrook man was shot but only suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention. He fled after the shooting but was later questioned by police. He has not been identified.
He was shot by 23-year-old Abdul Rahman Timbo, of Virginia. Timbo also fled but police caught him and took him into custody. He’s been charged with attempted murder and a weapons offense.
He is being held on $50,000 cash bail at the Cumberland County Jail.

A Former FBI Agent Battling Deputy Director McCabe Said There is a ‘Cancer’ Inside the FBI
When the FBI launched an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, one of the bureau’s top former counterterrorism agents believed that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe would have to recuse himself from the investigation.
Former Supervisory Special Agent Robyn Gritz was one of the bureau’s top intelligence analysts and terrorism experts but resigned from the bureau five years ago after she said she was harassed and her career was blocked by top FBI management. She filed a formal sexual discrimination complaint against the bureau in 2013 and it was Flynn, among many others, who publicly came to her aide.
In her first on-camera interview she described the retaliation from McCabe and others in the bureau as “vicious.”

Maine Gubernatorial Candidate: ‘Whiteness is Bad News’
Divide and Conquer: If you needed anymore evidence that the Democratic Party has been hijacked by racialists who believe the road to political success lies in white-bashing, here it is.
A Democratic gubernatorial candidate for Maine, Mark Eves — who is white — told a local gathering this week that “Maine’s whiteness is bad news,” claiming the state will fail if it doesn’t start attracting more people of color, Breitbart News reported.
According to Maine First Media and Big League Politics, Eves, the former Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, made the comment while addressing a group of nearly one hundred activists and grassroots supporters Wednesday evening at the “Resistance Rising” forum event put on by the Maine People’s Alliance in Lewiston.
What’s ironic about his comments — well, what’s sick about them — is that organizers claimed the event was about fighting “back against the racist and xenophobic rhetoric and policies coming from Washington and Augusta.”
Unless of course, you’re white.

Maryland: One Shot, One Stabbed in Fight at Williamsport Waffle House
WILLIAMSPORT — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting and stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning at the Waffle House in Williamsport.
A restaurant employee was taken to Meritus Medical Center after getting cut on the left wrist while trying to break up a fight, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Several hours later, a male with a gunshot graze wound arrived at the hospital via private transport. The wound to the left forearm occurred during the Waffle House incident, police said.
The employee and the male were treated and released.
Deputies responded to a reported shooting and stabbing at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday at the restaurant at 306 E. Potomac St., which also is part of U.S. 11.
There were reports of several people starting to fight in the restaurant, police said.
Witnesses reported a single shot was fired during the fight.
The people involved in the fight fled before police arrived.

Mueller Investigation Now Using Obama IRS to Go After POTUS Trump
The Obama IRS, notorious for putting its boot heels on the necks of political enemies for then-POTUS Obama is now, under the direction of Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, doing the same to POTUS Trump.
So says this report via the Daily Beast:
Special counsel Bob Mueller has teamed up with the IRS. According to sources familiar with his investigation into alleged Russian election interference, his probe has enlisted the help of agents from the IRS’ Criminal Investigations unit.
This unit-known as CI-is one of the federal government’s most tight-knit, specialized, and secretive investigative entities. Its 2,500 agents focus exclusively on financial crime, including tax evasion and money laundering. A former colleague of Mueller’s said he always liked working with IRS’ special agents, especially when he was a U.S. Attorney…These investigations, which are often extremely complex, can take a lot of time. That means the people involved sometimes have to spend significant amounts of money on legal fees. The Daily Beast previously reported that targets of Mueller’s probe-including Manafort-are facing financial strain because of the probe, and that Manafort recently parted ways with the law firm WilmerHale in part because of his financial troubles.
Robert Mueller is utilizing the power and funding of the federal government to go after the Trump White House. Reports indicate Manafort is cracking under the financial strain Mueller’s witch hunt is putting on him. That is exactly what Mueller wants for it will make Manafort willing to say almost anything to make a deal.

Public School Teachers Behind Violent Antifa
Public school teachers are behind a leading far-left militant group that is part of the Antifa network that federal officials say is committing domestic terrorist violence.
By Any Means Necessary, which has played a key role in riots in Berkeley, Sacramento and elsewhere, has dozens of public school teachers among its members, including among its most prominent leaders.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security began paying closer attention to Antifa groups in general after BAMN and other extremists started a riot and attacked marchers at a white nationalist rally in Sacramento last July, Politico reported on Friday. The Sacramento violence left at least 10 people hospitalized, several of whom had knife wounds.
One of BAMN’s most prominent organizers is Yvette Felarca, a Berkeley middle school teacher and pro-violence militant.

Trump Lambasted John Kelly After Being Advised to be Less Political: Report
President Trump lambasted chief of staff John Kelly after staffers suggested to their boss that he stray away from political distractions that could impede his policy agenda, according to a report Friday.
Kelly was the senior most aide in the room when Trump directed his ire at him some time after Trump’s wild rally in Phoenix last month in which he again assailed the media, among other things. Kelly reacted calmly in the face of Trump’s frustration.
Kelly, a former Marine Corps general, later told fellow staffers that he had never been talked to that way in his life. Sources told The New York Times he would not endure that kind of treatment again.
The latest look into the Trump-Kelly dynamic follows a string of reports on how Trump is having a difficult time accepting the strict operation in the White House run by Kelly, who transitioned from the Homeland Security Department at the end of July, replacing Reince Priebus.
Since then, Kelly has restricted the flow of information and people that reaches Trump. That reportedly includes limiting which family members can see Trump in the Oval Office on a whim.

Was the Founder of the John Birch Society a Fabian Socialist?

Interestingly enough, in the Twelth Report of the Fact-Finding Subcommittee on Un-American Activities of the California Senate, there is among the many Communists, Communist groups and front groups under discussion a case study of the John Birch Society, the group founded in the late 1950s by Robert Welch in opposition to Communism.
The John Birch Society of Robert Welch mainly survives in popular imagination for its having been “purged” by William F. Buckley from “mainstream” conservatism. This “purge” not only had the effect of shunting Robert Welch to the sidelines of conservative debate, it also cast out to the margins a wide if not Deplorable swath of Americans who embraced the tradition of “America First”-style non-interventionism and small-r republicanism which were also at the heart of conservative anti-Communism of the day.
Hard to imagine a better way to splinter the Right, even if that was not the intention.
Still, it is quite shocking to learn from the report that Birch Society founder Welch also belonged to the foremost Fabian socialist organization in America!

Has France Been Bought by a State Sponsor of Islamic Terrorism?

It is doubtful if the French investigators will ever get to the bottom of these two cases. The judiciary in France has a long tradition of submitting to the government. Since 1789, the French judiciary has not even been an independent power — as are the Legislative and the Executive — but a mere authority with a more limited scope.
It is revealing that these two investigations were exposed, not by the French press, but by the English press.
What we already know for sure is the following:
1. A state sponsor of terrorism, Qatar, was allowed to buy France’s leading soccer team, Paris-Saint-Germain, with the help of then-president Nicolas Sarkozy. The former owner of the PSG was a private fund controlled in Europe by one of Sarkozy’s close friends. There would have been no deal without the direct consent of Sarkozy — that is the way France functions.
2. A state sponsor of terrorism, Qatar, was not only allowed, but actively courted, by French officials to invest in some of France’s largest companies, including defense companies, such as Veolia, as well as the Airbus parent company, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS); the energy group EDF; the construction firm, Vinci; and the media and defense group Lagardère.
3. A state sponsor of terrorism, Qatar, was actively supported in its 2022 bid for the World Cup by the government of France and Nicolas Sarkozy, who declared after the FIFA vote in 2010: “Sport does not belong to a few countries. It belongs to the world… I don’t understand those who say that events should always be held in the same countries and the same continents.”
4. There is a significant part of the French political class that seems to consider the Embassy of Qatar in Paris some sort of automatic teller machine (ATM), as has been showed by renowned journalists Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot in their book, Nos tre’s chers émirs (Our Very Dear Emirs) and deplored by the new ambassador of Qatar in France, Meshaal al-Thani.
5. Since 2008, a state sponsor of terrorism, Qatar, has benefited from a huge tax break in France: the exemption of profits on property sales. In France, profits on property sales are not only taxed at 19%, they are subject to a further CSG/CRDS and social tax (15.5%), resulting in a combined total minimum tax rate of 34.5%. The rule is the same for everyone, whether a person or a corporation. Everyone, that is, but the State of Qatar, when the administration of Nicolas Sarkozy decided to exempt it from the tax. As a result, Qatar’s royal family and sovereign fund have since built up a huge portfolio of assets in France, one that dwarfs the portfolio of a state such as Saudi Arabia. Qatar’s portfolio ranges from a Champs-Élysées mall to the Lido Cabaret. “Our deficit has destroyed our freedom,” said Nathalie Goulet, a centrist senator from Lower Normandy, in 2013. “The Qataris are here to buy, while we are selling our family jewels.” Which they did. The EU’s Answer to Islamic Terrorism? — Redesign the Streets!
In what is surely one of the most ludicrous (yet entirely unsurprising) displays of the pitiable excuse for leadership in the Western world, the European Union’s EU counter-terrorism coordinator, Gilles de Kerchove said the way to combat terrorism is putting up bollards.
‘We must work more at protecting so-called easy targets. Bollards, the re-designing of pedestrian streets are necessary. There is a clear effect of imitation in terrorism, and it seems clear that something like Barcelona will happen again,’ he said. Yes, Giles, the way to stop deranged madmen from murdering innocent people in the streets is to make them walk around a concrete post first!?!
This is a guy who has been in his position since 2007, and has overseen the largest rise in terrorism on the streets of Europe ever seen. The idea that putting up posts at the beginnings of bust streets would not only cause absolute chaos (because it is not only terrorists who drive down streets), would not only be impossibly expensive (it would involve simultaneously redesigning every city and road way), but it would also be singularly ineffective!

What We Can Learn From France’s Failed Deradicalization Center
Political, rushed center cost the country 2.5 million euro and did not deradicalize a single individual
It was a national première, the first of its kind, and probably the last. France’s unique deradicalization center, or Center for Prevention, Integration and Citizenship closed a few weeks ago, and here’s what we can learn from it.
In September 2016, France’s first experimental deradicalization center opened in the small village of Beaumont-en-Véron, a township of less than 3000 inhabitants in the Loire region. The Pontourny center was designed as a boot camp for individuals in the process of being radicalized. The project was supposed to be the first of 12 others around the country, but it ended up being quite short-lived — less than a year later, on July 28th, the Ministry of Interior issued a press release:
“The experimentation of an open center, working on a voluntary basis, has shown its own limit,” the release said,” the Government has thus decided to end the experimentation taking place in Pontourny.”…

Will This Man be Norway’s First Muslim Prime Minister?
Sharia in sheep’s clothing?
Born in Norway to Pakistani parents, Abid Q. Raja studied law, criminology, and psychology at the universities of Oslo, Southampton, and Oxford, and later worked in Norway at several law firms, the Immigration Appeals Board, and the Police Department’s Immigration Office. He was also active in groups with names like the Center against Ethnic Discrimination, the Council for Crime Prevention, and the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Tribunal.
In 1999, Raja began to appear frequently on Norwegian TV and in the newspaper op-ed pages as a commentator on immigration and integration issue and as a spokesman for the nation’s Muslims. As it happens, that was the same year I moved to Norway, so I’ve followed his entire public career. During those early years, Raja came off as angry and radical. In 2004, while serving as a spokesman for an Oslo mosque called World Islamic Mission, he argued that the Norwegian government should pay to build a school in Pakistan for the children of Pakistani Muslims living in Norway. (Many Muslims in Europe send their kids to schools “back home” to prevent their Westernization.) In 2005, after a Norwegian court found a father and son guilty of forcing a family member to marry, Raja wrote an article for Aftenposten in which he insisted that not all arranged marriages are forced marriages. Some young people, he risibly maintained, “can’t manage to find their own spouse,” while some “don’t want to find their own spouse” and therefore ask their parents to do the job for them. Yeah, right.
In 2004, after a TV2 discussion program called Holmgang addressed the recent jihadist slaughter in Amsterdam of Islam critic Theo van Gogh, Raja went on the warpath, making several TV appearances in which he charged that the show’s host, Oddvar Stenstrøm, had “stigmatized” Muslims. (Stenstrøm reacted angrily to what he described as Raja’s “purely personal attacks” and outright lies: “In my nearly forty years as a journalist I’ve never experienced anything like it.”) Three years later, when Holmgang addressed the question of whether radical Islam represented a threat to Western values (99% of viewers said “yes”), Raja wrote a furious op-ed demanding that Stenstrøm be fired. It’s not clear what happened behind the scenes at TV2, but Stenstrøm was gone within a few months.
At some point — I don’t remember exactly when — I noticed that Raja had tamed his rhetoric. He was trying to sound reasonable, trying to come off as cool and reasoned. He even made the occasional, very carefully worded criticism of this or that aspect of the Muslim subculture. I didn’t believe for a second that he had actually changed his opinion about anything. As far as I was concerned, it was all an act. Raja, I surmised, was cynically modifying his image. The only question was: why? The answer seemed obvious: he wanted to pursue a political career. And he wouldn’t be satisfied with just being a member of Parliament, representing a mostly Muslim constituency: if that was all he was after, he wouldn’t have to undergo any kind of makeover.

Child-Slaves in Daesh’s Hell (Photo)
The personal stories of girls and boys who were freed or fled from Telaafar. Sold and resold, treated as slaves, as sexual objects; trained to slit throats and use weapons; enlisted as child-soldiers. Others remain in Daesh’s hands.
Telaafar (AsiaNews) — In Iraq, the Caliphate of Evil has fallen, and the horrific stories of their victims emerge, especially those of children whose innocence has been torn away from them forever, children treated as slaves, as sex objects, as pack animals. Children who talk about this terrible experience today as if it were part of normal life, unaware of the existence of another type of life.
Basma, sold to many masters
This is what happened to Basma, (see photo 1), the little Yazida girl who is nine years old now, sold several times to several masters before being found by her uncle and bought through an intermediary.
Basma, who is today in Dohok (Kurdistan), was at Telaafar, taken away with all the children. She describes the first days after being seized: “Every morning, she says, they carried children away and forced them to learn the Koran, threatening them with death. We had to learn it by heart and we learned.”
Her childhood conscience does not understand that through that this teaching converted her by making her perform the shahada [the profession of Islamic faith]. From Telaafar she was first sold to a Daesh fighter, who in turn soon resold her to another fighter who took her to Rakka in Syria where she was resold to a Saudi. After treating her like a slave for 12 days he again resold her to another man who kept her for three months. After three months she resold again who after three days sold her on to another, with whom she stayed for a week before meeting the buyer who bought her and saved her, selling her on to her uncle. Basma was photographed with adult clothing, as was customary for all Christian girls, Yazite and Shabak dragged from the plains of Nineveh; her photo was published on the Daesh site devoted to the slave trade (see photo 2). Basma cannot say the word “rape”, she doesn’t know the term, but talks about these “masters”, some of whom were her grandfather’s age. Like all of the others she was beaten everyday without any reason. Treated like a slave forced to clean, wash laundry, wash the dishes, heat the bath water and cook for the wife and children of her various masters. Basma says she had to “educate and nurture the masters little children” and could not sleep “before two or three in the morning … I could not sleep before I had put the baby to sleep and washed the dishes.” And she adds: “They beat us” especially “when they told me something and wanted me to remember what it was.” Sometimes, however, I could “sleep a few hours before, midnight, but not always.” Basma is now saved and free, but still today is afraid to listen to music and covers her ears for fear of being punished. “When there were air raids — she says — they [Daesh fighters] were afraid and asked me to go and pray. I did not pray the Islamic prayer, I pretended, but I prayed to God to send more bombs so they would die and I could escape, “she smiles satisfied. But Basma’s greatest fear was when “I was torn away from my mother, who I have not seen since.”
Janiva: I curse Daesh
Janiva Saleh Ahmad is a woman, also a slave, freed from Daesh. She says: “They took the girls for them, each one [each fighter] chose the girl he wanted. The most sought-after were girls who were just nine years old, selling them at the price of a notebook, but sometimes even in exchange for a cigarette or gun. “ She was beaten with her four children (photo 3). Keeping in mind, she had to serve, “cook, wash clothes, dishes, floor and make bread.” She stayed with the same “master” for a year and two months doing whatever he asked, because he threatened to kill her children before her eyes or sell them. “We were forced — she adds — to profess the Islamic faith.” Even though she has been freed from Daesh she still lives in terror: “I keep seeing them in my dreams and my children are still traumatized.” One of her children’s left arm still bears the sign of a bone broken by his “master’s” beating. “I curse Daesh — she concludes — that they never see a day of happiness, nor their wives, nor their children. I still fear them. “
Israa Barakat Hagi (photo 4 and 5) is Yazita, eight years old and is originally from the Sinjar Mountains, the village of Bent at Banat. Shirin’s mother is dead, and Israa finds it difficult to talk. Life spent silently for fear of punishment taught her to fear words. Of all the little girls who survived, Israa is surely the one who spent most years, three for the sake of accuracy, as a slave in the Daesh Caliphate. “At first they gathered all of us children in the hospital, then split us into several homes after each of us was chosen.” In three years she changed three masters and lived in three different houses. The first was Arabic, “the one who always beat me”. They all told her the same thing: “Forget your family, you will never return to them.” In the house “there were 4 doors, with a constant stream of fighters. Then a missile fell and some women were left in the debris … I saw Mrs. Um Aballah extracted from the rubble with her two eyes out of her face … and another with part of her skull missing,” she recounts with great naturalness “My man and I — she says — pulled another woman alive from under the rubble.” She was in Mosul Hospital when the city fell. “They told me they would come after me after the victory, but they did not triumph,” she says with a glimmer of joy in her sad eyes.
Hadjem and Shallal, children-soldiers
7 years old Hadlem and Shallal 14 (photo 6) are brothers. They were able to attract the “masters” sympathies because they quickly submitted themselves to the doctrine of Islam and hence enlisted as child soldiers. Both share the story of a hazardous escape, succeeding after so many failed attempts. Their happiness at having found their father is only mired by the fact that their mother and sister are still in the hands of Daesh in Rakka in Syria. From Telaafar Daesh brought them to Sinjar, then to Shaddadiya (in Syrian Mesopotamia) with a Tunisian master who promised the mother who was with them she would have her own house with him, along with her two brothers and sister. They stayed with the Tunisian, a Daesh emir, a whole year. Then he was blew himself up in a suicide bombing and they were considered martyr’s sons and began to perceive a salary from the Caliphate. They moved to Mayadeen and finally to Rakka. Hadjam became famous taking on the nickname Abu Hadi when his picture appeared on a site of Daesh Syria with a mitral in his hand and the black flag of Caliphate behind him and long hair (photo 7). The same thing for his brother Shallal, who was given the battle name Abu Omar (photo 8). They memorized the verses of the Quran and in return they were given “freedom,” which means they were no longer under control but free to go in and out of the house with permits. They saw killing in cold blood, they watched throats being slit and confessed they were scared whenever they saw killing. “We were scared every day,” Shallal said. Every Friday after prayer in the mosque, they killed, cut hands and throats, “Shallal says.” Daesh does not frighten me, he adds with a heroic smile, but it scares me to see death. “
The two brothers tell us that all children aged 5 to 18 were trained (photo 9). Eventually, they started to train the girls as well. Training started with lessons on how to kill with weapons or knives and how to slit throats, with live demonstrations on convicts.
His father (photo No. 10) after so many searches discovered that they were at Rakka and managed to get them to escape with a passer-by. He did not have the money needed to also save his wife and daughter in Rakka. Shalla and Hadjem are safe but they still cannot get rid of the passion for weapons they continue to handle but this time they are toy weapons in playgrounds (photo n.11). And every day Hadjam asks his Father to bring his mother back from Rakka.

The Khomeinists claim legitimacy in the name of the Hidden Imam who is believed to be preparing his return at an unspecified date. The Kimists, on the other hand, base their legitimacy on the “heroic victories” of Kim Il Sung, the proto-Communist leader who, with support from the Soviet Union and Communist China, carved out a fiefdom in part of the Korean Peninsula. Also at first glance, it might appear that the only thing the two regimes share is a primitive version of anti-Americanism, an affliction that affects many others even in Western democracies, albeit in milder forms.

Chinese Ships Attack Vietnamese Fishermen
Over the last two years, more than 4,000 Vietnamese fishing boats have been attacked, many sunk, in Vietnamese waters. The Church backs the fishermen’s protest. More than 7,000 Catholics in Vinh diocese marched to Ky Anh. The disputes over the territorial claims of the two countries are intensifying. China claims 85 per cent of the South China Sea.
Hanoi (AsiaNews) — More than 2,300 fishermen have been injured, gone missing or died in Vietnamese territorial waters in the South China Sea, this according to Nguyen Van T deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Since early August, more Vietnamese fishing vessels have been attacked and intimidated by China’s Navy. “Over the past two years, China’s ships have attacked, sunk, destroyed, or robbed more than 4,000 fishing boats of Vietnamese fishermen,” said the deputy minister.
On 6 August, Boat No. 40482TS was fishing some 48 nautical miles from the coast, not far from the Con Dao Islands when it was sunk by a Chinese ship. The eight men on board ended up in the water; seven were rescued. The body of the owner, Truong Cong On, has not been found yet.
In Quang Ngai Province, the Binh Chau Fishermen’s Union reports another episode of violence, also in Vietnamese waters. On 7 August, “fishing boat numbered QNg 90289 TS” was approached by a “Chinese ship numbered 46106. [. . .] Armed Chinese sailors came on board with weapons like knives, crowbars, and iron sticks and destroyed the gear of the Vietnamese fishermen” and took the “locator machine, fish and food detector” as well as “all the food reserve”. Afterwards, the Chinese sank the boat, abandoning the crew at sea, who were rescued by another fishing boat.
“This is not the first time that fishing boats from Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces were sunk by ‘white ships’ (Chinese Coast Guards),” said Phan Minh, a fisherman from Binh Chau. “My boat was also destroyed by a white ship numbered 46106. “The same thing happened on 16 August to five fishing boats from Tinh Ky village. [Chinese] ships are present in the waters of the Paracel Islands and along the coast of Vietnam to frighten fishermen.”
“They are very aggressive,” said shipowner Nguyen Huu Lam. “We are fishermen working in a vast ocean; we dare not resist armed Chinese sailors. We fish in Vietnamese waters, but in spite of this we are intimidated. We are very worried about our livelihoods.”
The crew of 46106 was involved in another act of aggression on 18 August, when they robbed and sunk Huynh Van Khanh’s boat..
“Beijing wants to prevent Vietnamese people from fishing in the waters of the South China Sea along the so-called ‘ox tongue’,” international maritime law experts told AsiaNews. Mainland China claims 85 per cent of the 3.5 million square kilometres of the sea.
“The fishing boats of many places are threatened: Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Danang, Binh Dinh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, etc. Such actions by the Chinese communist regime are affecting the lives of millions of people in Vietnam. In the near future, the country’s fishing industry is likely to disappear.”
On 23August, Tran Van Qui, president of the Union of Vietnam Fishermen, signed a letter of protest. The Vietnamese Fisheries Association has called on “Vietnamese authorities and agencies to raise their voice in protest against the Chinese government and to put into place effective measures to protect Vietnamese fishermen in waters under Vietnam’s sovereignty.”
The local Church has backed fishermen’s protest. On 27 August, more than 7,000 Catholics in Vinh diocese marched peacefully around the church of Ky Anh. The demonstrators asked the central government to implement “appropriate policies to protect the [Vietnam’s] sovereignty over the waters and islands as well as to protect fishermen”.
At the end of the protest, a prayer Mass was celebrated to demand justice and remember the victims of the Formosa environmental disaster, which hit the central provinces of Vietnam last year, crippling the local economy and putting more than 40,000 fishermen out of work.
In view of some ambiguities in international law, China has laid claim to a huge swath of the South China Sea (85 per cent), including the Spratly and the Paracel Islands, also claimed by Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Brunei and Malaysia (almost 85% of the territories).
In order to ensure its control over the Sea’s main maritime routes, China has been building a series of artificial islands, with military installations and lighthouses.
In the past three years, disputes over the territorial claims of the two easternmost nations have intensified.
Most recently, Vietnam has come out against China’s announcement of upcoming military exercises in the controversial waters of the South China Sea.
For its part, China is upset by Vietnam’s attempts to garner support among Southeast Asian nations and its growing ties with the United States, Japan and India.
Due to Chinese pressures, in July, Hanoi suspended oil activity in waters claimed by China.

Philippines: The Final Battle for Marawi Gets Underway, St Mary’s Cathedral is Recaptured (Video)
The church was desecrated and set on fire at the start of the conflict. A provisional cathedral has been consecrated in Baloi. The last Islamist holdout is on the shores of Lake Lanao. Soldiers take back the Grand Mosque. So far 800 people have died, including 133 soldiers and policemen, 617 terrorists and 45 civilians. About 50 people are still held hostage. The government promises proper reconstruction. Residents are still caught between hopes and fears for the future.
Marawi (AsiaNews) — The Philippines Armed Forces (AFP) are gearing up for an assault against the last stronghold held by armed men connected to the Islamic State in Marawi, capital of Lanao del Sur province (Mindanao), the Filipino city with the highest concentration of Muslims. The military plan to end the violent clashes comes as the crisis marked its hundredth day, yesterday.
The crisis began on 23 May when terrorists seized part of the city to set up an enclave for the Islamic State in Southeast Asia. So far, some 800 people have been killed, including 133 soldiers and policemen, 617 terrorists and 45 civilians.
The terrorists are still holding some hostages, including Fr Teresito “Chito” Suganob, vicar general in Marawi. The clergyman, who had a chance to escape, chose to remain with the other prisoners.
In the last few days, the military stepped up airstrikes on the rebel-held 500 square metre area to soften up the resistance of some 200 Islamist Maute and Abu Sayyaf militants still holding out.
Troops are about 500 metres from the lakeside where the terrorists fled after losing the strategic Mapandi bridge.
Now that the bridge and all other routes to their last stronghold are cut off, the terrorists are running low on food, water, medicine and ammunition.
As they moved forward, soldiers took Marawi’s Grand Mosque, and on Monday evening, they captured St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, in Marinaut. A video released by the military on Tuesday shows destruction inside the building (for the video click here).
The church had been taken last Friday but it had to be cleared of improvised explosive devices left by the Maute before they fled.
The building was one of the first places the terrorists attacked at the start of their operation. During their occupation, they desecrated it before setting it on fire. Mindanao Muslim leaders harshly condemned the act.
Mgr Edwin de la Peña, bishop of Marawi, said that the territorial prelature can now think about the future. Yesterday, he consecrated a provisional cathedral in Baloi (about 20 km north of Marawi).
During the offensive, the Maute took Fr Chito along with the Church workers and a dozen faithful.
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Mindanao’s main autonomist group, called for his release.
In late June, the terrorists said they were willing to release the priest if the authorities released the parents and relatives of their leader, Abdullah Maute. However, the government never opened talks.
Sources in Mindanao told AsiaNews that last week four hostages were able to escape, swimming across the lake. They explained that they were held along with Fr Chito. He refused to follow them, choosing instead to remain with the other hostages.
The escapees said that the terrorists use hostages as human shields, forcing them to wear their clothes to confuse the soldiers. The prisoners are also used to gather gunpowder and prepare home-made bombs.
As Marawi’s siege appears near its end, the government has promised to carry out effective reconstruction. Meanwhile, locals are trying to get their life back to normal.
Still, the city’s future remains uncertain. Most land belongs to the state, and real estate speculation is a real danger in a place where many illegally built homes have been destroyed. Sources told AsiaNews that it is not yet clear how the government intends to deal with the problem.
There are also fears about what will happen after the fighting is over. Many Maranao, a local Muslim ethnic group, have vowed vengeance against those who have supported and sided with the Islamist groups that brought death and destruction to the city. Honour feuding, known locally as rido (maratabat) is part of the area’s culture.
For tis part, the Catholic Church continues to help evacuees through numerous initiatives and projects.
AsiaNews spoke by phone with Fr Edwin A. Gariguez, executive secretary of the National Social Action Secretariat (NASSA) and Caritas Philippines, the main charity of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
The clergyman said that yesterday about a hundred residents marked the 100th day since the violence broke out by walking through the city, a symbol of hope for the future.

Europe: Jihadists Posing as Migrants

Around 130,000 migrants arrived in Europe by land and sea during the first eight months of 2017, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The main nationalities of arrivals to Italy in July were, in descending order: Nigeria, Bangladesh, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Mali. Arrivals to Greece were from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Congo. Arrivals to Bulgaria were from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Turkey.
In recent weeks, traffickers bringing migrants to Europe have opened up a new route through the Black Sea. On August 13, 69 Iraqi migrants were arrested trying to reach the Romanian Black Sea coast, having set off from Turkey in a yacht piloted by Bulgarian, Cypriot and Turkish smugglers. On August 20, the Romanian Coast Guard intercepted another boat carrying 70 Iraqis and Syrians, including 23 children, in the Black Sea in Romania’s southeastern Constanta region. …
In an August 31 interview with the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, Gilles de Kerchove, the EU’s Counterterrorism Coordinator said that more than 50,000 jihadists are now living in Europe:
“Three years ago, it was easy to identify someone who has become radicalized. Now, most fanatics disguise their convictions. We do not have exact figures, but it is not difficult to do approximate calculations. United Kingdom, it is not a secret, it has been published, it has 20,000. France, 17,000. Spain much less, but more than 5,000, I suppose. In Belgium almost 500 have gone to Syria and there are about 2,000 radicals or more. I would not venture to a specific figure, but tens of thousands, more than 50,000.”

French Police Clash With Migrants
Three police officers were injured during clashes with migrants Saturday by the French port of Calais.
Calais has become a hotspot for migrants who want to make it to the United Kingdom through the Eurotunnel. Migrants frequently attempt to hijack trucks on the motorway and many “took advantage of the bottleneck to board a few trucks,” according to local deputy police chief Jean-Philippe Vennin.

The attitude displayed by the left is being pushed and funded by those that are wanting a New World order. George Soros is the main person behind this violence against conservatives and conservative values. In an interview in 2014 with Germany’s BILD he stated: “I’m going to bring down the United States by funding Black Hate groups. We’ll put them into a mental trap and make them blame white people. The Black community is the easiest to manipulate.” We have the proof that he is doing just that. Last week, radical Marxist protesters at the University of California, Berkeley managed to shut down a scheduled speech by right-wing gay provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos. Reports now indicate that the protests were funded by leftist billionaire globalist George Soros, the city of Tucson, several large corporations, and a major labor union.
Protesters at Berkeley “broke windows, set off fireworks, and threw smoke bombs and flares, creating a dangerous environment for students and the public” in anticipation of Yiannopoulos’ speech on February 1. They wore masks and started a large fire just outside of the building where Yiannopoulos was supposed to speak, and set off fireworks and hurled rocks at police officers. At least six people were injured in the violence as Trump supporters were assaulted by the protesters.
The Daily Caller reports that Refuse Fascism, a communist group that encouraged the shutdown of the Yiannopoulos event, was behind the protests that turned violent. On February 2, the group released a statement on its site in which it called the shutdown “righteous” and encouraged similar protests to continue to take place:

The Deep Occultism of the Deep State
One of Netflix’s most popular political drama’s is a series called House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood, a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and House Majority Whip who later becomes president. Actress Robin Wright stars as his wife, Claire Underwood, who is as ruthless and pragmatic as her cutthroat and manipulative husband.
Season 5 of the program raised a lot of eyebrows in 2017 when it depicted where Underwood derives some of his power and influence. Episode 8 opened in what is obviously the Bohemian Grove in Monte Rio, California, where in mid-July of each year, a three-weekend encampment hosts some of the world’s most prominent men-from US presidents and politicians, to entertainment figures and notable businessmen, to power brokers and heads of state from other countries outside the US.
As the camera zooms in on the wooded area, a giant, owl-like figure with burning red eyes stands in the background as red-hooded figures circle before it chanting “Set us free,” followed by the cloaked men sacrificing a human effigy on an altar.
As happens in House of Cards on somewhat of a regular basis, Mr. Underwood, who is also hooded and walking among the crowd, then looks at the camera and begins a monologue during which he describes the history of the Grove and how, if you really want to get things done-like winning another presidential election-this is where you come to arrange the deal.
As Peter Martin Phillips in a doctoral dissertation published in 1994 titled A Relative Advantage: Sociology of the San Francisco Bohemian Club pointed out regarding these movers, shakers, and dealmakers who meet at the Grove, this place is “unique in American clubdom because it puts 2,000 to 3,000 mostly elite men together in the forest for up to sixteen days every summer. Of the top 800 corporations in the U.S. in 1980 30% had at least one officer or director at the Grove.”[i]
To give credit where credit is due, it is because of radio host Alex Jones that the public is aware this place actually exists and is indeed where the world’s most powerful men gather to do more than practice druid worship, drink, and pee on a tree. Super-secret talks have included the planning for the Manhattan Project-which led to the creation of the atom bomb (as Underwood mentions in the TV show).
Having said that, the secret annual meeting also involves occult rituals.
When Jones and a British filmmaker slipped into the Bohemian Grove thirty miles west of Santa Rosa, California, a few years ago, they recorded what is now known as the “Cremation of Care” ceremony. What they caught on camera is like something out of a Stanley Kubrick film. Hooded figures of some of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful men (which has included acting and former U.S. presidents such as George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Bilderberg mastermind Henry Kissinger, and similar participants) gathered beneath a forty-foot-tall stone owl surrounded by water. A child (or effigy) dubbed “Dull Care” was delivered by a ferryman on a small boat and placed on the altar before the owl, where it was burned as an offering for the purpose of magically alleviating the cares and concerns of those elitists making the sacrifice. Before Jones captured this astonishing ritual on film, American citizens were not even aware that such occultism is carried out under the cover of darkness by the world’s most powerful and respected leaders. Does this not cause reasonable people to question what other sorcery is occurring behind the veil?
On his website, Jones says: “This is like something out of a Hollywood movie, where teenagers are out camping in the wilderness and come over a hill and witness some devil cult in black and red garb sacrificing some poor soul on a bloody altar.” Jones has written about the similarity between the “Cremation of Care” rite and the ancient Canaanite worship of the owl god Molech, where children were sacrificed for nearly identical reasons. Scholars have debated whether the child sacrifices made to Molech were burned alive, or were slain elsewhere and then drained of blood and offered as food to the deity. If the former, a comparison is made between Molech and Kronos, from whose brazen arms children were rolled alive into an oven of fire. Like the Bohemian ritual, the ancient Baals Molech and Kronos were usually called upon to relieve the ones making the sacrifice of their earthly cares, and people who sought material prosperity believed their lives could be improved by offering the child as a sacrifice to the deity.
Three hundred years before Christ, the Greek author Kleitarchos recorded the dastardly process of sacrificing infants in “Cremations of Care” to Kronos:
Out of reverence for Kronos, the Phoenicians, and especially the Carthaginians, whenever they seek to obtain some great favor, vow one of their children, burning it as a sacrifice to the deity, if they are especially eager to gain success. There stands in their midst a bronze statue of Kronos, its hands extended over a bronze brazier, the flames of which engulf the child. When the flames fall on the body, the limbs contract and the open mouth seems almost to be laughing [such areas of child sacrifice were often called “the place of laughing”], until the contracted body slips quietly into the brazier.[ii]

When a spectacular terror attack occurs, the average person is temporarily alarmed, but then settles back into a state of complacency until the next major terror attack triggers the alarm once again. But this cycle of alarm-complacency-alarm-complacency doesn’t bring us any closer to understanding the underlying problem or solving it. Indeed, it conditions us to live with a certain level of terror. We know that the jihadists will strike again, but we also know that the odds are low that we will be among the victims. And so we manage to get on with our lives. As long as bombs are not going off in nearby subways or buses we stop thinking about jihad.
Our society’s focus on acts of violent jihad makes us forget that there is another, more subtle kind of jihad that we need to worry about. Terrible as violent jihad is, cultural jihad is actually a greater threat. Violent jihad — —9/11, Barcelona, London Bridge— is intermittent, but cultural jihad never sleeps. It is active 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. And though your odds of being a victim of violent jihad are quite low, your odds of being a victim of cultural jihad are exceedingly high.
Cultural jihad is a long-term campaign to influence and even co-opt key social institutions such as schools, churches, media, business, and courts. For example, chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked (and politically active) Muslim Student Association can be found on every major campus. And substantial grants from Gulf State kingdoms have persuaded American universities to adopt Islam-friendly policies and curriculums. Catholic colleges are no exception. Most of them present a whitewashed version of Islam to their students. And some Catholic institutions, such as Georgetown, have become little more than PR agents for the Islamic way of life.

The list of missing children, just in the United States each year is staggering, according to the FBI – most of those children are never seen again.
On China’s belligerent actions in the South China Sea: The Vietnamese will not tolerate Chinese aggression for much longer. Any city around the world that has a significant Vietnamese population, such as in Paris or Sydney, can expect retaliatory actions against any Chinese who may be living in those cities if Vietnam decides that China has gone too far in its claims over what used to be shared fishing zones with all the Asian nations living around that area.

Bild has no record of an interview with Soros, in September or anytime in 2014. This kind of, evidently, fake news undermines the credibility of those who oppose his agenda.
Soros is amazingly honest about his views. I guess he is too rich to care. Hitler was also.
