Eastpointe Man Charged in Deadly Grad Party Shooting in Roseville

18-year-old Clinton Township man killed

ROSEVILLE, Mich. — A 20-year-old Eastpointe man is charged with second degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting this past weekend at a graduation party in Roseville.

Amer Mongogna faces several charges including murder in the second degree, felony firearm, assault with intent to murder, felony firearm weapons violation, and carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Mongogna was arraigned Wednesday afternoon (watch above) and is being held without bond. He is scheduled to be back in court Aug. 23.

Luke Filary, 18, of Clinton Township, was shot and killed at his cousin’s graduation party early Sunday morning. A 20-year-old Eastpointe man was taken into custody hours after the shooting.

Police said a handgun believed to have been used in the incident was recovered from a home in St. Clair Shores.

The graduation party was held at a home near 12 Mile and Hayes roads.

Roseville police said four people were asked to leave the party after they were involved in an argument. The group returned a while later and one person started shooting at the home. Filary was struck and rushed to a hospital where he died.

“Really good guy,” said friend Gelos Wright. “He doesn’t deserve that. His family doesn’t deserve that, at all.”

Paris Attack: Man Shot in Hunt for BMW Driver Who Mowed Down Six French Soldiers

French police shot and arrested a suspect in a dramatic motorway chase Wednesday after a car smashed into soldiers outside a barracks in a Paris suburb, injuring six.

The suspected terror attack is the latest in a string of assaults that have hit France since January 2015, claiming more than 230 lives.

The servicemen were hit by a BMW which drove down a quiet street in the upmarket western Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret at around 6am GMT.

It accelerated as it neared the troops, rammed into them and then sped away.

“I heard a huge crash which I thought was the sound of scaffolding being put up,” Thierry Chappe, a resident in a building opposite the crime scene, told AFP.

Police later gave chase to the vehicle on a motorway north of Paris, and shot and wounded the suspect, a man aged in his late 30s who was also arrested, sources involved in the manhunt said, speaking on condition of anonymity…

UK: Eighteen People Found Guilty Over Newcastle Sex Grooming Network

Seventeen men and one woman have been found guilty of involvement in a sex grooming network in Newcastle upon Tyne that plied vulnerable women and girls with drink and drugs before assaulting them.

In a series of four trials at Newcastle crown court, juries found the men guilty of a catalogue of nearly 100 offences — including rape, human trafficking, conspiracy to incite prostitution and drug supply — between 2011 and 2014.

The men befriended more than 20 victims and invited them to “sessions” at properties, mostly in the west end of the city. The girls were lured by the offer of alcohol and drugs, in particular mephedrone (“Mkat”) and cannabis, and were expected to offer sexual services in return for the substances.

The victims, all females between 13 and 25, were targeted because they were vulnerable and because they were less likely to complain because of their circumstances, the prosecution argued. The court heard accounts of young women who were drugged before waking up to find themselves undressed, having been sexually assaulted.

The men — some of whom were related or friends since childhood — were convicted in four interlinked trials that have run over more than two years.

The trials were the result of police investigation Operation Shelter, which fell under the umbrella of Operation Sanctuary — Northumbria police’s investigation into the sexual exploitation of children and adults with vulnerabilities. Police identified as many as 108 potential victims in Operation Shelter and 278 victims in the wider Operation Sanctuary.

Operation Shelter has clear similarities to grooming scandals in Rotherham and Rochdale, which featured gangs of British Asian men abusing white girls. The men in operation Shelter are from a wider range of backgrounds, including Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish.

The trials, the first of which finished in October 2015, could not be reported until all were concluded for fear that they would be prejudiced.

UK: Operation Sanctuary: Newcastle Child Sex Network Convicted

Eighteen people have been convicted of abusing girls in Newcastle who were plied with alcohol and drugs before being forced to have sex.

The vulnerable victims, some as young as 14, were exploited by a “cynical organisation”, a court heard.

The 17 men and one woman were convicted of rape, supplying drugs and conspiracy to incite prostitution. Over the course of four trials, 20 young women gave evidence covering a period from 2011 to 2014. These trials involved 26 defendants, who were mostly Asian, facing a total of more than 100 charges and 22 victims.

Those prosecuted were from the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish communities and mainly British-born, with most living in the West End of Newcastle.

UK: Plymouth Murder: Man Charged With Train Station Stabbing

Jamie Skinner, 28, has been charged with the murder of Wayne Fention, 49, who was stabbed to death at 10am on Tuesday morning.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital for life-threatening injuries but later died from his injuries, police have confirmed.

DCI Paul Langley from British Transport Police, said: “This is a fast paced investigation and I have a number of officers working behind the scenes.

“The man who was arrested yesterday remains in police custody and we’re continuing to question him in relation to this incident.

“I would like to thank the large numbers of witnesses who have come forward and my officers are in the process of speaking to those individuals.

“Yesterday’s news would have come as a devastating shock for this family. My thoughts are with them at this stage and we have specially trained officers supporting them as they come to terms with this news.”

UK: Sex Exploitation Scandal: How Newcastle Women and Girls Were Drugged and Raped by Grooming Gangs

Vulnerable girls and young women have been sexually exploited and prostituted in parts of Newcastle in a crimewave which has brought shame on our city.

Today we can reveal how the troubled girls were lured to parties, known as “sessions”, where they were given drugs and alcohol in return for sex, while those involved cruelly took advantage of them for their own twisted ends.

Groups of men have now been convicted of offences against the girls — at least one of whom had learning difficulties — as part of an investigation centred on Newcastle’s West End, which became known as Operation Shelter, which forms part of Northumbria Police’s Operation Sanctuary .

Now we can tell you who those men are, and reveal the sexual exploitation which has been happening in Tyneside communities.

  1. If we concentrate upon product acceptance for Soylent Green in the African and Asian markets, this immigration crisis should sort itself out very handily, as readily transient protein units in that young and fit category that maximizes yields at harvest, can provide robust inventories for sale to the elderly and infirm who weren’t up to the traveling.

One could think of it as a variation of Family Reunification, and note that the best social remedies incorporate a healthy profit incentive, which explains why we reward scalp collectors and seal pup clubbers with a living wage.

  2. African migrants attack the border with stones, spears and sticks – they used the top technology of their continent… imagine the North using its top technology for protection…

    • We have superior technology, but it doesn’t matter because we lack the will to use it. A motivated Third World spear chucker will beat the First World soldier hobbled by archaic rules of engagement anyday.

      • European security forces carry weapons for display purposes only.

If the will to use it existed, to keep five million Africans and Muslims from entering Europe it is necessary only to warm of the use of deadly force on would-be invaders and then use it ONCE on those who think the old rules apply.

A lesson in discipline from ancient China is available.

  3. Regarding the Newcastle sex-grooming trial, I read in the UK Guardian report, above, that ” ….. in April 2014, Badrul Hussain – who was found guilty of providing premises for drug supply – was caught traveling on public transport without a ticket. The female ticket inspector claimed that he shouted at her: “All white women are only good for one thing. For men like me to [swive] and use like trash. That’s all women like you are worth.”

*That* wasn’t a very nice thing to say! No doubt not at all a typical attitude of men like this ….. just a bad apple …. but a whole barrel-full of baddies turned up in Newcastle and-one must suspect-in all parts of the UK with a similarly vibrant multi-ethnic culture (all that wonderful variety of food, lovely ethnic music, interesting conversations with people from far away places …. ).

Oh, if anyone has a link to a report of that [scoundrel]’s trial for using racially demeaning and insulting language, please post it.

I recently read another report: “The woman claimed that he shouted at her ‘All muslim women are only good for one thing. For men like me to [swive] and use like trash. That’s all women like you are worth. What a truly terrible thing to say. I’m glad to see, though, that the guy who said it, Tommy Smith, a white man, by the way, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for what the judge called ‘a particularly repugnant instance of racial (sic) hatred, one that is not to be tolerated in a civilised society.”
