The big news of the day was Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall on the coast of Texas near Corpus Christi late last night. The storm’s 135mph winds did severe damage along the coast, but the predicted rainfall from Harvey will be even more damaging — the storm is expected to stall, backtrack, and then linger over Texas for the next four days, dropping up to 40 inches of rain in the sodden coastal areas.
In other news, a security drill in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster has revealed significant deficiencies in the buildings’ defenses, which could result in the deaths of an estimated 100 MPs in the event of a serious terror attack.

Are We in Danger of Losing Our Constitutional Form of Government?
Contrary to popular belief the judges of the Court are not appointed for life. The Constitution clearly states that they shall “hold their Offices during good behaviour”. What does that mean? It certainly would not be for the Court to decide the meaning because they could then set the bar so high nothing could ever result in “bad behavior” and regardless of the Court’s actions no judge or judges could ever be removed.
It would fall to the representatives of the people, Congress, to agree that what the judge or judges did was not “good behavior”. Is a violation of the constitutional principles as established by the contract enough to constitute “bad behavior”? Is it enough for the Court to create rights by the misinterpretation of words or phrases in the Constitution or by actually creating words or phrases not found therein in violation of the right of the people to change the document through their elected representatives by amendment under Article V? How else could the Court be “checked and balanced” under the scheme our founders thought they were establishing? Could it not otherwise allow that branch of the government to usurp the power and authority of the other branches and become the absolute ruler of the country?
Another “check and balance” on the Court having such absolute authority is that a contract cannot be changed other than by the agreement of the parties to that contract. For that reason, Article V provides a procedure for the amendment of the Constitution. Only the people have the right to have the Constitution amended through proposals by their elected representatives and a ratification process. How did the Court have the authority to amend the Constitution when it was not a party to that contract? It was created by it. Therefore, the Court does not have that authority and it was a violation of the principles of the contract for them in a decision to give themselves that authority.

CBS Hypes Comparison of Colin Kaepernick with Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali
While ABC and NBC only produced a news brief about a protest in favor of Colin Kaepernick, CBS This Morning on Thursday devoted an entire segment to “taking a stand” for the football player, even hyping comparisons of him to Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali. Reporter Dana Jacobson spun the rally in New York, cheering, “Social justice advocates rallied to show their support for Colin Kaepernick.”
The segment featured no critical voices at all. Instead, Jacobson fawned, “The embattled quarterback was likened to civil rights heroes Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali.”

Critics Fear Dana Rohrabacher Creating WikiLeaks Back Channel to Trump
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher of California has returned from Europe with a plan to brief President Trump on a meeting with WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange that he says touched on information disproving Russia’s role hacking Democratic emails.
The Orange County Republican visited Assange inside Ecuador’s London embassy last week and told the Washington Examiner on Thursday, shortly after his return, that “I would not talk on the telephone” with the president about the three-hour conversation.

Google Will Help Diagnose Your Clinical Depression: It’s Wonderful
In my work-in-progress, The Underground, here is what I wrote about Google: “They’re clever, I’ll give them that. They’re saying you can search them for any information in the world, but they’re really searching you.”
Google has decided it’s not doing enough to lead us into a better world. So now it’s going to enter the field of psychiatry.
Engadget.com: Google is “offering a medically validated, anonymous screening questionnaire for clinical depression if you search for information on the condition. This won’ t definitively indicate that you’ re clinically depressed, to be clear, but it will give you useful information you can take to a doctor.”
“Google and others are determined to fight fake news, and they know that the consequences of false or incomplete medical information could be serious. If you need help, they want to be sure you get the appropriate support.”
Let’s see if I can help Google fight false or incomplete medical information.
For example, be aware that there is no defining lab test for clinical depression.
No blood test, no urine test, no saliva test, no brain scan, no genetic assay.
Committees of psychiatrists sit down and look at unscientific menus of human behavior, lump certain behaviors together, and arbitrarily label them “clinical depression.”
Therefore, any Google questionnaire is simply going to feed into that trough of pseudoscience. That’s all.

Gorka Out: Seb Slams Anti-MAGA Aides in Stunning Resignation Letter
“The individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined.”
Sebastian Gorka, the brusque national security aide to President Donald Trump, reportedly resigned his post as deputy assistant to the president late Friday.
The Federalist reports Gorka wrote a scathing resignation letter that sharply criticized the president’s newly unveiled strategy for the war in Afghanistan, and savaging White House rivals who he claims oppose the Trump agenda.
“[G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are — for now — ascendant within the White House,” Gorka wrote. “As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the People’s House.”

By contrast, the same Democrats and media organizations curiously expressed little concern for Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton’s physical and mental health, ignoring her alarming physical symptoms and apparent history of unhinged and even violent outbursts.
On multiple occasions during the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary was being physically propped up during her speeches. Though Hillary’s health has been largely ignored by the establishment media, there have been questions about her health, from her tripping and falling, to reports of blood clots, to special glasses that she used during the Benghazi congressional hearings and other concerns about her explosive temper.
A video in August 2016 appeared to show her in what the popular Drudge Report described as a “brain freeze.” And that followed earlier episodes that had some questioning whether she was suffering a seizures.

‘There are possibilities that [Imran] or them might have been selling this information to anybody who is not authorized to have them.’

Kelly Sadler, a low-level staffer in the White House, lied about her credentials to push inaccurate leaked information to the press about the resignation of Dr. Sebastian Gorka from the administration.
In an email to a number of people in the media, Sadler opens up by saying the email is for “BACKGROUND PURPOSES ONLY.” That text is written in bright red, and bolded. The headline of the email is “Background on Sebastian Gorka.”
In the body of the email, Sadler then writes to media figures covering the resignation of Dr. Gorka: “From a White House Official: ‘Sebastian Gorka did not resign, but I can confirm he no longer works at the White House.’“
She rounds out the email to media elites by pleading: “No attribution to me, please. Senior White House official only.”
Sadler’s claim that she is a “Senior White House official” is not true. She is not a “Senior White House official.” She is a low-level press staffer, and a commissioned officer as a special assistant to the president.
In addition, her claim that Gorka “did not resign” is also untrue. Gorka sent the president a detailed resignation letter, as multiple media outlets have reported.

The House ethics committee on Monday outlined its charges against Rep. Maxine Waters, who is accused of helping a bank in which her husband owned stock secure federal bailout funds.
The committee charged the 10-term California Democrat with three counts of violating House rules and the federal ethics code in connection with her effort to arrange a 2008 meeting between Treasury officials and representatives with OneUnited bank. The panel said Waters, who sits on the Financial Services Committee, broke a House rule requiring members to behave in a way that reflects “creditably” on the chamber. The committee said that by trying to assist OneUnited, she stood to benefit directly, because her husband owned a sizable amount of stock that would have been “worthless” if the bank failed.

Pentagon Paid Sports Teams Millions for Patriotic Events
WASHINGTON — The Pentagon has paid more than $9 million to professional sports franchises the past four years, including $6.8 million to stage “paid patriotism” events, Sens. Jeff Flake and John McCain disclosed Wednesday.
The events ranged from full-field displays of the American flag to enlistment and re-enlistment ceremonies and emotional reunions of returning servicemembers and their families.
“What is upsetting is when you see activities like this that people assume when they go to games are paid for out of the goodness of the heart by the owners and the teams, and then to find out the taxpayers are paying for it. It kind of cheapens (it) and it’s simply not right,” Flake said at a news conference with McCain to release the report.
The advertising-marketing contracts were intended to help with recruiting efforts, but the military has no hard evidence they were effective. Many of the agreements involved the National Guard. The exact amount of the marketing contracts that went toward activities deemed as paid patriotism could not be determined.
The report includes details of contracts with payments totaling $9.1 million to teams in the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, the National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer. Investigators identified $6.8 million worth of contracts to the major sports teams that included events considered to be paid patriotism.

Police Identify Suspect in Attempted Rape of 74-Year-Old Woman
CONCOURSE VILLAGE — Police say they have identified a man they say tried to rape a 74-year-old woman in Concourse Village.
Authorities tell News 12 that 23-year-old Joshua McCallum follow the victim into her apartment building on Park Avenue and 161st Street last Friday night. They say McCallum put the woman in a chokehold and grouped her as she approached the apartment door.
The 74-year-old victim was able to bang on a neighbor’s door and McCallum ran away.
Police say the suspect is five feet seven and about 180 pounds.

President Trump Pardons Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Trump picked the notorious Arizona lawman for his first-ever act of presidential absolution.
President Trump formally pardoned Joe Arpaio on Friday, wielding the presidential power of mercy to absolve the former Arizona sheriff for defying a federal court order.
“Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration,” the White House said in a statement. “Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of honorable service to our Nation, he is [a] worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon.” Trump subsequently confirmed the decision on Twitter.

Residents at Epicenter of Harvey’s Landfall Return to Heart-Breaking Devastation
Along the Texas coast Saturday, residents who fled in advance of Harvey returned to find homes and businesses destroyed, and streets littered with telephone poles, downed wires, street signs, RV’s, house siding, and even roofs that had been ripped off in one piece.
Hurricane Harvey made landfall between Port Aransas and Port O’Connor at 10 p.m. Friday. Port Aransas and the nearby coastal town of Rockport looked eerily similar Saturday morning after the worst of the storm had cleared and the damage became visible.
It appeared strong wind gusts caused the most destruction.
On Route 35 between Port Aransas and Rockport there were homes and trailers destroyed. Nancy and George Collins stared in disbelief at their home, which had crumbled. They said they have no insurance and no way to rebuild.

Why Has the FBI Arrested the Computer Genius Who Saved the NHS?
He is accused of cyber crime and is facing jail in the US. And while he may be an unusual character, his British family swear he’s innocent
With its elegant decor and soft lighting, the ambience in The Club lounge, at Las Vegas International Airport, is usually serene. On August 2, however, passengers waiting to board Virgin Atlantic’s afternoon flight to London Gatwick were disturbed by an extraordinary scene.
Emerging stealthily into the room, plainclothes FBI officers approached a young, scruffily dressed British man, who had been sampling the complimentary refreshments and amusing himself by posting sardonic messages on Twitter.
They were from the agency’s Cyber Crime Unit, and told him he was suspected of various serious offences, arrested him, snapped his wrists in handcuffs, and marched him off to be interrogated.
News-conscious observers of this drama might have recognised the startled prisoner. For three months earlier, Marcus Hutchins, a 23-year-old computer genius employed to fight internet crime, had been hailed a hero after thwarting a devastating virus that had spread to 150 countries and some 300,000 computers.
Operating alone from his gadget-cluttered bedroom, at his parents’ home in the North Devon resort of Ilfracombe, he had stumbled upon a ‘kill switch’ that halted the so-called WannaCry epidemic dead in its tracks.
Since the shadowy hackers who created the virus (thought to be from Russia or North Korea) had demanded a ransom of £460 per infected machine to remove it, they might have raked in millions but for his timely intervention…
Our inquiries reveal that the Kronos virus was being marketed on a notorious Russian underground web forum as early as June 10, 2014 — a month before the period covered by the indictment.
Stranger still, on July 13, 2014, as the malware began to appear extensively on hacking sites, Hutchins tweeted: ‘Anyone got a Kronos sample?’
This begs a rather obvious question: why would he be trying to obtain the virus if he was its evil architect?
According to British cyber-security expert Gavin Millard, it just doesn’t add up.
He believes Hutchins might simply have posed as the author of Kronos while researching it to gain intelligence — a tactic frequently used by ‘white-hats’ fighting computer crime.

Alt-Left Warns Antifa Will Attack Canadian Journalists at Protests
The extremist Alt-Left group Antifa have threatened further violence against journalists in Canada after members of the group attacked a camera crew of one of the country’s largest broadcasters in Quebec.
Last weekend anti-mass migration protestors marched against the current Canadian migrant crisis, which has seen thousands of mostly Haitian nationals penetrating the border from the United States.
During the protest, Antifa members started a riot, attacking anti-mass migration protesters, police and a camera crew from Canadian broadcaster Global News. The group — which Breitbart News has profiled previously — has since claimed credit, and promised more attacks on journalists in the future.
On the Antifa website ‘MTL Counter-info’ an anonymous poster took credit for the attack, writing: “Sometimes, it is necessary to go against what the mainstream considers ‘acceptable’, to break the law in order to do the ethical thing.”

Belgium: Man With Knife Shot Dead After Stabbing Soldier in Central Brussels
A thirty-year old Belgian national of Somali attacked soldiers with knives on Friday night in the center of Brussels.
The assailant rushed into the soldiers’ backs and beat them with a knife, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, leading soldiers to open fire. After he was hit twice, the assailant had dead in hospital, as a result of his injuries.

France’s president has warned Poland is isolating itself within the European Union and that its people deserve better.

Police: Buckingham Palace Attacker Had ‘Four-Foot Sword’, Shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ Repeatedly
The Metropolitan Police Force has released more information on the attack outside Buckingham Palace on the night of August 25th, which is currently being investigated as a terrorist attack.
According to an official statement, a 26-year-old from the Luton area “deliberately drove at a police van and stopped in front of it in a restricted area on Constitution Hill near Buckingham Palace”.
He was confronted by three police constables — who were unarmed — and immediately reached for “what we now know to be a four-foot sword”, which was concealed in the front passenger foot well.
The would-be attacker “repeatedly shouted Allahu Akbar” during the subsequent struggle, in which the three police officers sustained light injuries. Two required hospital treatment, but have now been discharged.

UK: Buckingham Palace Attacker Armed With ‘4ft Sword’
Man arrested outside Buckingham Palace after ‘attacking two police officers’
A man who was apprehended by police outside Buckingham Palace last night (25 August) was armed with a 4ft sword, Scotland Yard confirmed.
The 26-year-old from Luton repeatedly shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ after ‘deliberately’ ramming his Toyota Prius into a marked police car in Constitution Hill, close to the royal residence at around 8.30pm on Friday. (25 August)
The suspect reached for the weapon in the passenger footwell. Three police officers were injured as they struggled to restrain him. He was finally subdued using CS gas and arrested Sky News reports.
Scotland Yard confirmed the attacker has been detained at a central London police station on suspicion of assault and grievous bodily harm under the Terrorism Act 2000.

93-year-old Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe made it clear in an address this week that people who murdered white farmers during a government-sanctioned purge in the 2000s will never be prosecuted.

Candlelight Vigil Held for Trans Woman Shot by Police Following Knife Attack
A candlelight vigil has been held in St. Louis, Missouri, for a transgender woman who was fatally shot after she reportedly stabbed someone and attacked one of the responding officers with a knife.
“Interim Police Chief Lawrence O’Toole says officers responding to a reported stabbing in the apartment found a victim with severe knife wounds,” reported CBS. “O’Toole says that when officers tried to arrest the suspect there after the victim identified him, he slashed at the officers, cutting one before being shot and killed.”
“Several dozen” people showed up to the vigil, where they criticized police for using the transgender woman’s biological gender, and claimed, without supporting evidence, that she was innocent of any crime.

A Californian first grader was sent to the principal’s office this week after allegedly “misgendering” a transgender student.
The incident reportedly took place at California’s Rocklin Academy, in the school playground, where the female student called her biologically male classmate “by his given name — apparently unaware that the boy now identified as a girl,” according to Fox News.
“This innocent little first grader sees a classmate, calls him by the name she knew him last year and the boy reports it to a teacher,” claimed Karen England, from the Capitol Resource Institute. “The little girl gets in trouble on the playground and then gets called out of class to the principal’s office.”
During her visit to the principal’s office, the child was reportedly “investigated” to determine “whether or not she had bullied the transgender child by calling him by his original name.”

Parents of kindergartners attending a California charter school are frightened after a teacher read her class a book about transgenderism without notifying them.
“My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy,” one parent of a kindergartner at Rocklin Academy said.
“These parents feel betrayed by the school district that they were not notified,” Karen England of the Capitol Resource Institute said at a school board meeting this week, the local CBS affiliate reports. “The kindergartners came home very confused, about whether or not you can pick your gender, whether or not they really were a boy or a girl.”
