GM Auto Sales Crash, Dealer Inventory Near All Time High

It was expected to be a bad quarter for General Motors. It ended up being abysmal.

GM reported that July auto sales crashed by a whopping 15%, nearly double Wall Street’s already depressed expectations of a 8% drop, and with GM mothballing production across the country to catch up with lagging demand, it still sold only 226,107 vehicles as a result of double digits drops in Chevy, Build and Cadillac Sales of 15.3% —30.5% and —21.7%, respectively. The only “good” performer was GMC, which dropped by “only” 7.3% Y/Y…

And speaking of GM’s “competitors”, it wasn’t any better there, with Chrysler reporting a July auto sales drop of —10.5%, also far below the 6.1% expected.

  • Fiat brand —18%
  • Chrysler brand —30%
  • Jeep brand —12%
  • Dodge brand —12%
  • Ram brand sales were flat y/y
  • Fleet sales —35%

And some other car makers:

  • Ford down —7.4%, Exp. down —5.5%
  • Volkswagen down —5.8%
  • Honda down —1.2%
  • Mazda down —3%

At this rate, the US auto sector could become the catalyst that finally tips the US economy over into recession.

Goldman Sachs Says That There is a 99 Percent Chance That Stock Prices Will Not Keep Going Up Like This

Analysts at Goldman Sachs are saying that it is next to impossible for stock prices to keep going up like they have been recently. Ever since Donald Trump’s surprise election victory in November, stocks have been on a tremendous run, but this surge has not been matched by a turnaround in the real economy. We have essentially had a “no growth” economy for most of the past decade, and ominous signs pointing to big trouble ahead are all around us. The only reason why stocks have been able to perform so well is due to unprecedented intervention by global central banks, but they are not going to be able to keep inflating this bubble forever. At some point this absolutely enormous bubble will burst and investors will lose trillions of dollars.

The only other times we have seen stock valuations at these levels were just before the stock market crash of 1929 and just before the dotcom bubble burst in 2000. For those that think that they can jump into the markets now and make a lot of money from rapidly rising stock prices, I think that it would be wise to consider what analysts at Goldman Sachs are telling us. The following is from a CNBC article that was published on Monday…

CNN Host: Trump Won Because of Racists Like You

Says POTUS supporters are bigoted sexists and homophobes

In his latest offering, Zakaria argued that a stupid, racist, homophobic, and sexist majority of Americans are fed up of being lectured by “educated professionals who live in cities, who have cosmopolitan views” like him.

“There’s a part of America that is sick and tired of being told what to do by this overeducated population that Hillary Clinton perfectly represented. That’s why they’re sticking with him,” Zakaria argued.

The CNN host then suggested that Trump tapped into the underlying bigotry of most Americans, labeling it a “toxic energy”.

“He knew that the election of a black president had stirred a kind of ugly racial animus. A small subset but he knew how to get them.” Zakaria said.

“A real sense of cultural alienation that the older white, non-college educated Americans have the sense that their country is changing because of immigrants. Because maybe blacks are getting — rising up to a kind of central place in society. Because of, you know, gays being afforded equal rights. Because of, frankly, a lot of working women.” he added.

And that was pretty much the full scope of Zakaria’s findings.

Unsurprisingly, he didn’t touch upon the scandal ridden campaign of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, their labeling of Americans as ‘deplorables’, and an embracing of ideals that most Americans find repulsive.

Does She Know Something That We Don’t? — Mike Pence “Is Planning an Inauguration” According to Maxine Waters

Whenever you hear an unsubstantiated claim, it’s usually wise to disregard it. In a world where you can listen to and read a near endless supply of news stories, you really only have time to pay attention to claims that are backed by evidence. The only exception to this rule, is when there are multiple claims from diverse sources, that are all saying the same thing. At that point you absolutely have to wonder if something is going on.

And that’s exactly what we’ve been seeing over the past week in regards to President Trump. There have been multiple claims that forces within our government are trying to overthrow him in some capacity. Evangelical Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne recently claimed that he spoke to a high level Republican Congressman, who told him that there was a plot to forcibly remove Trump from office.

“He said there is a plot on Capitol Hill to take the president out, I said you mean by impeachment or by indictment — he said no, to take him out, he will be removed suddenly from office,” said Howard-Browne, before adding, “you can read between the lines”.

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly claimed that both Republicans and Democrats are engaging in a silent coup against Trump, and more recently he said that he believes the deep state is recruiting ex military leaders to lead an overthrow of the Trump administration.

Several days before those claims surfaced, former CIA director John Brennan told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that if the White House tries to fire Robert Mueller, then high ranking officials in our government should refuse to follow those orders. That’s not just an unsubstantiated claim. That’s practically a public admission that elements in our government wish to ignore the lawful authority of the White House.

As if that wasn’t alarming enough, Maxine Waters recently posted a tweet that by itself would sound kooky, but in the context of every other claim, should be taken very seriously… California Representative Maxine Waters, who has become an internet sensation among the left for her frank criticism of the president in recent months, tweeted Saturday: “Mike Pence is somewhere planning an inauguration. Priebus and Spicer will lead the transition.”

‘I’m Going to Redefine Terror’: Bay Area Resident Accused of Aiding ISIS — Planned to Murder 10,000 People

As ISIS has shown in their own magazine, they’ ll probably never try to pull off a massive terror attack on American soil. Instead, they’ ll indoctrinate useful idiots who already live here, and convince them to engage in numerous small attacks, similar to the bombings, knifings, and shootings that have plagued Europe in recent years. It’s a strategy that is far less likely to be foiled, costs significantly less, and can be maintained long after ISIS is overrun in the Middle East.

And what also makes this strategy so enticing is that these small attacks, which are so much more difficult to prevent, is that they can add up over time. They have the potential to accumulate death tolls that dwarf previous terror attacks, and there is little doubt that groups like ISIS are working to make that happen right now.

For instance, a 22-year-old man named Amer Sinan Alhaggagi from Oakland, California was indicted on terror related charges last week, after he allegedly “attempted to provide services and personnel to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).” However, that justice department statement is a very sanitized version of what he’s actually being accused of. His plans, which were unearthed by undercover agents working for the FBI, suggest that he intended to kill as many as 10,000 people in the Bay Area with a wide variety of attacks; which included bombings, mass poisonings, and arson.

Man Charged With Murder in Shooting of Indiana Officer Who Responded to Crash

A man charged Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a police officer in Indianapolis was dangling upside down in his overturned car following a crash when he suddenly became agitated as the officer tried to help him and opened fire, striking the officer 11 times, according to court documents.

Jason D. Brown, 28, was charged Tuesday with one felony count of murder in the July 27 slaying of Southport police Lt. Aaron Allan. He also faces a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. Authorities haven’t disclosed a possible motive in the killing.

But a probable cause affidavit filed with the charges states that other officers and witnesses said Allan approached the overturned car, stuck his head inside and told Brown “to be calm and that help was on the way.” The Indianapolis man became “hysterical,” it states, before allegedly grabbing a handgun and opening fire, shooting Allan 11 times, including in the heart.

A man who was a passenger in Brown’s car told officers he and Brown had just left a gas station when Brown inexplicably began driving at a high rate of speed, the affidavit states. Brown then began maneuvering around cars when his vehicle drove over a median, struck a curb and overturned in the yard in front of a home, with Brown hanging upside down inside, secured by his seatbelt.

The passenger was outside the overturned car, sitting on the grass, when the shooting occurred.

A nurse who stopped to help told officers that she told Brown not to move because he could further injure himself. She said that Brown “became very agitated and belligerent and began cussing” shortly before she heard several gunshots ring out.

Officers later found 13 baggies of suspected marijuana inside Brown’s car, according to the affidavit.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said in a statement Tuesday that Allan’s death was “a tragic loss for the community…

Man Hurt in Queens Package Explosion Dies of Injuries, NYPD Says

The Queens landlord who was badly burned after a package exploded in his hands last week has died, police said Tuesday.

George Wray suffered second- and third-degree burns over 80 percent of his body after the 12-inch-long cylindrical explosive device went off outside a home on 222nd Street, near 145th Road, around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, according to police. Property records list Wray as the owner of the home, which two families rent.

Wray’s wife, Linda Wray, had said over the weekend that her husband was “very sick” and she wasn’t sure if he would pull through.

Wray died on Tuesday at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was being treated since the explosion, according to police.

So far, no arrests have been made. Police said earlier Tuesday they did not have any persons of interest in the case.

There Are People Who Want to be Micro Chipped

Who would want to be micro chipped? Many, apparently. Some people are begging for a micro chip to be implanted in their body — one that could do everything a smartphone can do and more.

“I am so ready,” says Charlene Li. She’s a long-time author and principal analyst at the Altimeter Group. This week, science fiction came to the heartland when a small Wisconsin company announced that it would begin implanting microchips into its employee’s hands. The company had more than 50 volunteers too. The company sold the implantation to their employees as a convenience for them to ditch the company badge and corporate log-on for computers. Instead, the chip is now their identification. They may also pay for items purchased in the break room with their implant, but the company assures skeptics that GPS is not installed on their chips. Three Square Market will stage a “chips and salsa,” party at its company headquarters near the Minnesota border, where it expects to micro chip a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 85 employees.

The chip will now identify the employees of the Three Square Market company, but Li says she wants to be chipped too. According to Li, “as a woman, we don’t generally have outside pockets in our clothes, so we have to carry a purse for my keys, and phone and other things. If I had a chip, I wouldn’t have to lose things, and I could pay for things, open my car doors, so many options.” But these people who demand a chip hardly ever think of the things that could go wrong. Li says that the micro chip could eliminate the need for business cards too. “When I meet people and they would say, can I connect with you, I say, read my chip,” says Li. “There’s no exchange of business cards, I’ d just show up in their contacts.”

One wrong move or distasteful comment about the wrong authorities could result in the chip being shut down. That would prohibit the person from doing literally, anything. They wouldn’t be able to do simple things like access their money or drive their car.

Listen to Aaron Russo explain the end goal of human micro chipping:

It seems like the biggest objection isn’t the control the chip hands over to those who implant others, but the minimal health risks involved. For some odd reason, humans cannot see past their own nose and often cut it off despite their face. While many are skeptical and others down right against micro chipping humans, some are saying that it’s “the future” and we should all just accept it.

Yet the conversation never seems to circle back to the negative potential of human micro chipping. Even when the GPS and tracking issue is shoved aside, the government control of the chips comes to the forefront. As if we aren’t human tax cattle for the elites now, we would be literal slaves to the powers that be should they have control of every bit of information about every second of everyone’s life. That should scare every person on the globe and for the exact same reason.

Top Republican Congressman Calls for Mueller to Resign as Special Counsel

“Bob Mueller is in clear violation of federal code and must resign to maintain the integrity of the investigation into alleged Russian ties.”

A senior Arizona congressman is calling on Robert Mueller, special counsel for the Justice Department’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling, to resign.

Rep. Trent Franks, a Republican who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement Tuesday that Mueller is in violation of the law that prohibits Mueller from serving as a special counsel if he has a conflict of interest.

Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey have been longtime allies dating back to 2003 when the men both worked in Washington, Mueller as the FBI Director and Comey as Deputy Attorney General. Franks cited the pair’s relationship as a reason for Mueller to be disqualified from the probe.

Woman Blinded When Man Pours Bleach on Her Face in SF Attack

A woman was blinded Sunday evening in a vicious bleach attack in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco, officials said.

The 57-year-old woman was sitting on the sidewalk on Mason Street, between Turk and Eddy streets, about 7:30 p.m., when a man in his early 20s approached her and poured bleach on her face, police said.

“She was sitting down when a man approached her and told her to get up and go away, and then he walked away,” said Officer Robert Rueca, a police spokesman. “He returned back to her with a cup in his hand — she believed it was bleach — and poured it on her, causing her to lose vision.”

The woman was rushed to a hospital, police said. No arrests have been made, and police did not specify whether the woman’s blindness was temporary or permanent.

The victim told police she did not know the attacker, Rueca said.

Pseudo Tories Are Tories’ Biggest Problem

The greatest threat to the future of the Conservative Party of Canada doesn’t come from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals.

Nor from the NDP, no matter who their next leader is.

It comes from Conservatives who want to be Liberals.

Some call themselves “Red Tories,” others “self-loathing” Conservatives, still others, ahem, Conservative “strategists.” What they all share in common is that they agree with the Liberals that the Liberals are the natural governing part of Canada and so it’s important for Conservatives to think like Liberals, and act like Liberals, to trick the public into voting for them.

Case in point? The Omar Khadr affair.

Geert Wilders Hails Kassam’s ‘Very Important’ No Go Zones Book

Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV) leader and anti-Islamisation campaigner Geert Wilders has praised Breitbart London Editor in Chief Raheem Kassam’s forthcoming book on No Go Zones in glowing terms, calling it a must read in the fight to preserve Western cultures.

Speaking of Kassam’s book, No Go Zones: How Sharia Law Is Coming to a Neighborhood Near You, Wilders told Breitbart London Monday: “There is a conquest going on. The West is gradually losing control over its own land.

“Raheem Kassam’s book about the proliferation of no gone zones in our Western countries is a wake-up call. It is a very important book which should be read by as many people as possible because it shows that if we do not start to de-Islamize our societies and reestablish control over our own countries we are bound to lose them.”

Germany: Muslim Biker Gang Vows to ‘Protect’ Fellow Muslims

German Muslims have established a self-styled biker gang — modelled on the Hells Angels — aimed at protecting fellow Muslims from the “ever-growing hatred of Islam,” according to Die Welt.

The emergence of the group, which aspires to open chapters in cities and towns across Germany, has alarmed German authorities, who have warned against the growing threat of vigilantism in the country.

Muslim vigilantes enforcing Islamic justice have become increasingly common in Germany. The government’s inability or unwillingness to stop them has led to the rise of anti-Muslim counter-vigilantes. Germany’s BfV intelligence agency, in its latest annual report, warned that an escalating action-reaction cycle could result in open warfare on German streets.

The Warsaw Uprising and Poland’s Battle With Communism

In the summer of 1944, the Nazi occupation of Poland was nearing the end of its fifth year. More than one in five Poles had been killed, enslaved, or shipped off to concentration camps. The country was being incrementally destroyed to make way for Adolf Hitler’s vision of a greater German Reich. Still, hundreds of thousands of Poles continued to fight. …

But no help was forthcoming. For reasons that to this day remain classified by the Kremlin, the Soviet offensive stopped on the outskirts of Warsaw. A nearby Soviet airbase remained unused, while Western airdrops were limited to faraway locations in Italy.

Without heavy weapons or outside support, the Polish resistance stood no chance against even the weakened German occupation force. Warsaw was razed and up to 200,000 civilians died, the majority of them executed by the Nazis after the battle.

Soviet forces only restarted their offensive in January 1945, and the war ended that May. …

Western officials and media often failed to criticize their Soviet ally or consider dictator Josef Stalin’s goals rationally. The vast provision of aid to the Red Army, for instance, might well have been the boost needed for the Soviet regime to subjugate Eastern Europe in the postwar period.

“We might have wasted less money and material than we did,” said U.S. diplomat George Kennan in a 1951 letter. “We might have arrived in the centre of Europe slightly sooner and less encumbered with obligations to our Soviet ally. The postwar line of division between East and West might have lain somewhat farther east than it is today, and that would certainly be a relief to everyone concerned.” …

It Took Under 15 Minutes for Halamish Attacker to Jump the Fence, Carry Out Attack

It took only 15 minutes from the moment Omar Al-Abed jumped the fence of the West Bank settlement of Halamish on Friday to the moment he was neutralized by an off-duty soldier, IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Ronen Manelis said on Saturday.

“It was a horrific, murderous, attack. The house was full of blood,” said Manelis, who added that the photographs showing the aftermath of the deadly terror attack in Halamish don’t show the entire picture.

Manelis, who visited Saturday the house that became a horrific scene of bloodshed along with IDf Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, said that terrorist Ombar al-Abed (19) admitted to carrying out the attack because of the recent tensions surrounding the Temple Mount.

“He decided in the last two days that he wanted to carry out an attack,” Manelis said, adding that while it seems that he carried it out alone, security forces are still looking to see if he has any accomplices. The terrorist’s brother was arrested on Saturday in order to understand whether there is anyone else who knew of al-Abed’s intentions.

According to Manelis, al-Abed published a Facebook post where stated that he was expecting to die just before he left his West Bank village to carry out the attack in Halamish. Carrying a backpack with a Quran, wallet and bottle of water, al-Abed jumped the fence and arrived at the family’s home which was close to the entrance of the settlement.

When he arrived he is believed to have purified himself with the bottle of water before stabbing to death a grandfather and his two adult children…

Trump Saw a Disturbing Video, Then He Shut Down the CIA’s Covert Syria Program

The only question that remains is who in the CIA or Obama-era State Department should be prosecuted first?

While we’ve carefully documented the dynamics in play behind Trump’s decision to end the CIA’s covert Syria program, as well as the corresponding fury this immediately unleashed among the usual hawkish DC policy wonks, new information on what specifically impacted the president’s thinking has emerged.

Thomas Joscelyn, a Middle East analyst for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, explains in the August edition of The Weekly Standard:

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump was shown a disturbing video of Syrian rebels beheading a child near the city of Aleppo. It had caused a minor stir in the press as the fighters belonged to the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, a group that had been supported by the CIA as part of its rebel aid program. The footage is haunting. Five bearded men smirk as they surround a boy in the back of a pickup truck. One of them holds the boy’s head with a tight grip on his hair while another mockingly slaps his face. Then, one of them uses a knife to saw the child’s head off and holds it up in the air like a trophy. It is a scene reminiscent of the Islamic State’s snuff videos, except this wasn’t the work of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s men. The murderers were supposed to be the good guys: our allies.

Trump pressed his most senior intelligence advisers, asking the basic question of how the CIA could have a relationship with a group that beheads a child and then uploads the video to the internet. He wasn’t satisfied with any of the responses:…

Crowning the Red Czar

[…]

According to late Sovietologist Robert Conquest, Stalin had only an intermediate understanding of communist theory. He was not given to revealing his thoughts and did not stick out among “the talkative politicians of the time.”

But while his grasp of Marxist theory was mediocre, Stalin possessed a good memory and a keen understanding of psychology. In a system that rejected constant morality or even notions of utility, Stalin attacked and marginalized his Bolshevik peers one step at a time until he was in an unforeseen position of strength. In his work “The Great Terror,” Conquest termed this a “coup d’etat by inches.” …

It is a fundamental irony of communism that the fate of the early Russian iconoclasts was, in many cases, to be executed by the secret police or worked to death in Stalin’s gulag system. The ideology rejected the constraints of abstract authority, such as God or family, only to erect absolute tyranny in the name of revolution, and place a deified representative of the Communist Party at the top of the hierarchy. In the Soviet Union, this deity was Stalin, around whom the Communist Party built a powerful cult of personality.

“Don’t spare the individual; spare only the cause,” Stalin once said. This adage evidently held true for himself and his family, as it did his tens of millions of victims.

“Listen, you are not Stalin,” the leader once told his son Vasiliy. “Even I am not Stalin. Stalin is Soviet power. Stalin is what is written about in the newspapers and what is in the portraits.”

Baldaev’s artistic style is realistically proportioned, with heavy lines and shadows that give it the feel of a contemporary graphic novel.

The book “Drawings from the Gulag” features over a hundred images, depicting executions, axe murders, cruel sexual torture, and other acts of extreme violence perpetrated by the communist regime. Baldaev provides captions that contextualize his drawings and add life to the victims and perpetrators. The brutality of the gulag is accompanied by the Stalinist slogans and propaganda that would have been a constant presence for inmates and camp administrators alike. …

And shocking it is, to the extent that one reviewer questioned the need for the “pornographic” brutality of Baldaev’s illustrations. But in a world where the Soviet Union gave up communism without a full reckoning for its evils, and where Stalin’s rule is looked on as effective or even heroic by many, Baldaev’s uncensored level of detail—gratuitous in any other context—is sobering and necessary.

It is necessary because it is current. The tortures and maltreatment that Baldaev depicts in his drawings happened half a century ago, but for millions of political and religious prisoners held today by the Chinese and North Korean communist regimes, the gulags are very much alive.

War is Right Around the Corner: Russia Mobilizes Three Motorized Rifle Division “Strike Forces” In Preparation for Rapid Offensive Assault on Ukraine

As I wrote in the beginning of the year, the first six months in office make or break a president by setting the tempo for the remainder of his term. The President has not been effective in any area, and he has pulled a complete 180-degree shift in dealing with Russia. After they met in the G-20 summit, relations between the President and Vladimir Putin have steadily declined.

Now we have a Congress who has long desired to go to war with Russia, and a President who is ineffective at every turn. Obamacare will not be repealed, the border fence is a fiasco, and the Democrats (aided by the pseudo-Republicans) are doing the “Rope-a-Dope” on the President. They are bouncing off the actions he takes akin to Ali on the ropes and making continuous counterattacks of their own. Domestically, the President has not lost control because he never had it, and now the shadow government that is hidden behind the pseudo-Congress and the moneyed interests that support it are pushing the United States into a war with Russia.

It’s worse than merely a consortium seeking expansion of empire and all the attached perks. Look at this excerpt:…

Please take note again of the origin of the last comment in the excerpt, the source is underlined:

“Vladimir Putin’s violent campaign to destabilize and dismember the sovereign nation of Ukraine will not stop unless and until he meets a strong and determined response,” McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee told Trump in February.”

McCain. The same McCain who destabilized Ukraine in the first place, along with Victoria Nuland and Senator Lindsay Graham. And just in case McCain’s brain illness keeps him from his agenda? Guess who Kurt Volker is?

Here, taken straight out of Wikipedia:

“Volker served as a legislative fellow on the staff of Senator John McCain from 1997 to 1998.”

That’s right. Volker was on McCain’s staff. Read the rest of it. He was appointed by Tillerson to his current post as the Special Representative to Ukraine, but he’s basically a State Department “creature” with plenty of liberal-arts education and propaganda, with no military experience and little in the field of diplomacy.

Protests in Chamba Over Rape of Class Xi Hindu Student by a Muslim Teacher

Communal flare-up in Chamba over recurring rape of Class XI Hindu student by a Muslim teacher over 1 year.

Ummed Singh Nagal | HENB | Shimla | July 31, 2017:: The alleged rape of a 16-year-old Hindu school student by her Muslim teacher in the Tissa tribal area of Chamba district has taken a communal colour. The police had a tough time trying to prevent a communal clash in the area today, even as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who had to lay foundation stones for various development schemes in the area, cancelled his Tissa visit.

Around 2,000 Hindu protesters led by VHP (a right wing Hindu Organisation) gathered at Tissa during the day and started advancing towards Kush Nagari, a Muslim-dominated area. When stopped, they pelted the police with stones, which resorted to lathicharge. ASP Varinder Thakur, five other policemen and many protesters, including women, were injured. The protesters damaged houses of members of a Muslim community.

The girl student of Kush Nagari government school had alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her teacher under threat that he would fail her in the examination. After her parents filed a police complaint, the accused was arrested and remanded in judicial custody on July 27.

The Journalist Who Served the Party Until He Was Driven to Kill Himself

Fan Changjiang, a journalist for the reputable Ta Kung Pao newspaper in republican China, was a loyal communist and proud of it. He once boasted that “in newspapers and books published legally under Nationalist rule, I was the first person to call [the Communists] the Red Army … and not bandits, and to announce that the Red Army was marching north to fight the Japanese, not fleeing like cowards.” …

Fan’s journalism during this time—which was later compiled into the book “The Northwestern Corner of China” and reprinted seven times—was critical in reversing the traditionally negative perception of the communists on Nationalist-controlled territory. …

Over the years and decades, Fan enjoyed favorable treatment. He headed the Liberation Daily and then the People’s Daily, and was even promoted to the State Council. As was the case with many other officials, this all changed very quickly during the Cultural Revolution.

Along with millions of teachers, intellectuals, officials, and others who belonged to the so-called Five Black Categories, Fan was persecuted and criticized as a “counter-revolutionary.” Fan, who had once helped turn the hearts and minds of China against the enemies of communism, was sent to a labor camp for “re-education” in 1969. Once considered one of Mao’s “brothers,” he was now the lowliest of the low.

He was watched continuously, spit at and beaten in political “struggle sessions,” and tasked with the hardest, dirtiest labor. Guards beat him for being too slow. Often, the aged and ailing Fan was forced to carry multiple buckets of soil weighing over 100 lb to help fertilize crops. After three years of toil, he had finally had enough. A week after his 61st birthday, Fan jumped into a well. His body was hastily wrapped in plastic sheets and buried in a gutter.

Rees-Mogg Movement Ridicules Corbyn’s ‘Socialist Inspiration’ Venezuela as it Crumbles

JEREMY CORBYN and his dream of a socialist utopia was ridiculed by online campaigners Moggmentum — a grass roots movement supporting Conservative backbencher Jacob Rees-Mogg.

The social media movement behind the rising support for Mr Rees-Mogg hit out at the hard-left Labour Party leader’s historical praise for Venezuela as the country is in crisis under its socialist leaders.

Posted on the group’s Facebook page, and titled “socialist yahoo”, the video shows Mr Corbyn championing the Latin American county’s hard-left politics.

He says: “An inspiration to all of us, fighting back against austerity and neoliberal economics in Europe showed us there is a different, and better way of doing things.

“It’s called socialism, it’s called social justice, and it is something Venezuela has made a big step towards.”

Venezuela Teeters on Edge of Famine and Civil War Following Sham Election

The result also brings Venezuela a step closer to outright civil war as the country braces for more violent protests between the people, the government, and their military apparatus. According to Venezuelan outlet RunRunes, 125 people have been killed in the violence since April.

The Venezuelan government has consistently signaled it is willing to protect the “Bolivarian revolution” with firearms, as seen by increasing brutality from security forces, who regularly use rubber bullets, water cannons, and tear gas against protesters. …

With political tensions at an all-time high, the country also teeters on the edge of a full-scale humanitarian crisis, as fewer and fewer Venezuelans can afford basic resources such as food, medicine, and sanitary products amid skyrocketing inflation. According to dolartoday.com, which monitors the country’s unofficial exchange rate, the Venezuelan Bolivar fell a further 10 percent on Monday and has lost over 99.9 percent of its value since 2010.

Data recorded last year found that a majority of Venezuelans go to bed hungry, while 15 percent of people scavenge for food in the garbage just to survive. An annual survey on Venezuelan living conditions in May also revealed nearly 75 percent of respondents lost an average of 19 pounds unintentionally in the past year, and 82 percent of households live in poverty.

Refugee Relocation — Facts, Numbers and Perspectives

The European Commission has decided to initiate infringement proceedings against the countries that do not participate in the refugee resettlement program: Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. What does the refugee relocation, however, look like in terms of facts, numbers and perspectives?

How does the EU deal with the relocation of migrants?

As the British left-wing newspaper The Guardian warned at the end of 2016, only 5% (8,162) of the migrants planned for relocation were transferred from Italy and Greece. By April it was over 16,000 people or 10%.

The number of refugees to be relocated has been reduced to 98,000 people, but it is expected that the total amount of refugees will eventually amount to 33,000. Far fewer refugees than expected meet the criteria necessary for transfer. Such information was provided by the Commissioner Dimitris Avrampolous, on April 12 of this year.

There are also numerous specific requirements that Greece and Italy must fulfill. Some countries take only children and single mothers with children. Others demand that refugees be sent only at the end of a given month by chartered flights.

How do individual states handle the reception of refugees?

Poland and Hungary are not the only countries to refuse refugees (as of 9 June). Austria also suspended the admission of refugees, which in 2015 was left with a large group of refugees in transit to Germany after the German Chancellor changed her mind about open borders. Finally, in May, Austria announced its intention to accept refugees.

Denmark and the United Kingdom, which during the admission negotiations secured exclusion from the common migration policy, also did not accept refugees. Among the countries that took only a symbolic number of refugees are Slovakia (16), Czech Republic (12), Croatia (36) and Bulgaria (47).

Do refugees prefer to live in a safe Eastern Europe or a more prosperous Western Europe?…

William Shatner Slams SJWs — Says ‘Snowflakes’ “Stand for Inequality” And “Misandry”

The actor often calls out examples of what he considers to be unwarranted attacks on men

William Shatner, the actor who famously portrayed Captain James Kirk in the original 1960s run of Star Trek spoke out against his progressive critics, claiming that SJWs “stand for inequality” while defending his use of terms like “snowflake” and “misandry” — a phenomenon that angry feminists insist has been extinguished in modern society.

Shatner, a Canadian citizen who’s publicly empathized with the far-right and President Donald Trump, has repeatedly feuded with Trekkies who feel that he has turned away from the show’s culturally-progressive message (Star Trek made television history by broadcasting television’s first interracial kiss, between Shatner and castmate Nichelle Nichols). The actor often calls out examples of what he considers to be unwarranted attacks on men.

Shatner’s signature was notably absent from a February letter sent by the original Star Trek cast condemning President Donald Trump’s “racism and bigotry.”

At least one liberal critic accused the actor of “tarnishing” Star Trek’s legacy with his “alt-right language,” according to Gizmodo.

43 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/1/2017

  1. Poland and Hungary “case”: my prediction is – ain’t gonna happen, they will not cave in. But let’s see. By all indications, the tensions between EU and its heretic V4 members is mounting …

    • I don’t think it is politically possible to import refugees into the V4 countries – our politicians would risk immediate violence, as I don’t really know anyone who would welcome refugees anymore…

The Czech interior minister said, for example, “We took 12 refugees out of 1600 we are supposed to take. As we continue to security check the rest, it doesn’t look like we are taking in any more. Security checks are difficult, and these people won’t cooperate.”

Which is a kind of how Czechs say bleep you…

    • Perhaps the Marxists have overplayed their hand? If they had a standing army, they’d be invading Poland by 9/1, just as the communists did in 1939.

      • The EU is trying to establish a multinational (not identified with any nation) military. Historically, a professional military, based on pay rather than loyalty, was the predecessor of tyranny. This is why the original framers of the Constitution did not want a standing military.

I am convinced the original plan was for Hillary to get elected President, which would clear the way for NATO to be used to enforce EU bureaucratic decisions. The election of Trump more or less quashed that plan, and the bureaucrats are reduced to impotent gestures. That doesn’t reduce their danger, though; Presidents are temporary, but bureaucrats are forever.

Almost any of the potential Republican nominees would have been fine with the idea of using NATO to enforce EU decisions, with the exception of Rand Paul and possibly Ted Cruz.

I know what I were do if I were heading the Hungarian, Polish, Czech, or Slovakian governments, but probably best to not state it explicitly.

        • A multinational military. With the ever increasing percentage of moslems how many will eventually wind up in uniform? And when the time is right turn on any non believers.
          What could go wrong?

        • Well said! We dodged a bullet with Trump’s victory and he stands with Poland 100%. But I’m sure his Obama State Department does not. He needs to get an industrial strength vacuum cleaner!

      • Nazi Germany invaded Poland on 9/1/39. The Soviet Union’s invasion from the east commenced on 9/17. Oh, the horrors that ensued!!!

We can be sure that if some EU-created multinational force (which Hungary’s Orban ostensibly supports) were to invade a V-4 country to impose its suicidal migration ‘policies’ the Russians would march in from the east to defend its own borders and ‘sphere of interest’.

    • The V4 will not yield. Even if some politician would buckle (I do not think so), the population got the events of the last 2 years unfiltered and would react.

      • Thank goodness for the V4 .They are the only sane countries left in Europe .God Bless them.

  2. I can’t believe what I read here in the piece “Crowning the Red Czar”, the lack of context is appalling. I despise Stalin, but don’t give a fig about the bolsheviks. Stalin was no better than Trotsky, Lenin & their bolsheviks, but he saw the wrath of the Russian people had reached a breaking point. The bolsheviks killed roughly 60 million Russian & Ukranian Christians, so Stalin purged them. So the neocons, whose movement was founded by Trotskyite bolshevik Irving Kristol, whose son & his fellows want to do to us, what they did in Russia & Ukraine, [are eager] to attack Russia & cause endless suffering. Please don’t let them frame the narrative, make some effort please

    • I read some articles as well about Transilvania Orban speach
Who was very pro Hungarian and separatists
I told this people, to just do more reasearch or donottouch subjects that have no idea about
I am not surprised that they have no idea
I would move them in time to taste the gulag for themselves and get the idea
I will take them in time to see how decimated and persecuted where the Romanian population under Austrio Hungarian rule so they get a grip
I observed this site for a while, they think they know and the ego is huge
… however let’s read some real history books and in different languages ,can we!?
and please refrain fro.m recommending historic fiction.
They recomanded Mika Valtary ..its crap

    • Lol.

Karen B. Please read some history.

The killing accelerated with the ascension of Stalin, who initiated the Holodomor, or systematic, deliberate starvation of millions of Ukrainian peasants. Stalin didn’t take power because the other bolsheviks were killing too much, but because Stalin wanted power, the same as Trotsky, and Stalin was a much better schemer than Trotsky. Lenin was separated from power because he had a severe stroke, which eventually killed him. Both Stalin and Trotsky claimed to have been anointed successor by Lenin, who probably disliked both of them intensely.

Trotsky led the Red Army during the Russian civil war of the reds against the whites, and was perfectly willing to kill anyone or any group in the way of the revolutionary government gaining full power.

      • When Karen B. writes ‘bolsheviks’ it is obvious that she means Jews. She prefers the grotesque Stalin (Jughashvili) because he wasn’t a Jew. We know about Trotsky and have heard the rumors about Lenin. (Then, there is Kristol and his etc…)

I would have preferred that her antisemitic nonsense not been posted here. However, I defer to the capable and sober Baron.

        • If she wants to be explicit about it, she can say “Jew” or use lots of (((parentheses))), and then we’ll know that’s what she means. In the interim, we can take her meaning to be exactly what is written in the text. After all, if what she really means is “Jews-Jews-Jews-Jews-JOOOOOS”, she’ll have to get around to saying it eventually, won’t she? Otherwise, it’s hard for her to be sure she’s getting the message across.

So far we’ve heard “neocons”; that’s a signal. Let’s watch for “Zionists” and “Rothschild” — then we’ll know we’re getting warmer.

          • Merci. If she posts again about Kushner and his ‘fellow globalists’ we’ll be getting warmer. In the meantime, in wouldn’t hurt to read the “Crowning the Red Czar” article she is referring to, huh? Maybe I’m missing her message.

  3. Shatner article was great proof of how loony the left really is. Imagine living in that universe. You work 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, don’t get paid, you never get to leave the starship, suffer high workplace mortality, are subject to never ending strange diseases, and have no personal property or living space. No thanks, it’s not perfect, but I’ll take capitalism. For people make half an effort, it seems to work.

  4. Mohammed’s Koran: Why Muslims Kill For Islam
by Peter McLoughlin (Author), Tommy Robinson (Author)
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mohammeds-Koran-Muslims-Kill-Islam/dp/154262780X
I wonder if perhaps the book has sold out as I found that some people were saying it was not available.
Not sure how the kindle system works though.
I hope the printing presses catch up, and if Amazon are having 2nd thoughts, then hopefully it will be retailed else where.

Worthwhile to cast an eye over the reviews, so far about 150, running at about 2 to 1, 5* to 1*
Some reviews are very good and well informed.
Many comments also aid others where they may have a misunderstanding or expand of how the koran works. The key to the book (I have not read) is that it treats the koran in a chronological order, and there are appendices at the back, showing the koranic and chronological order.

It seems that the 1* reviews get a good lambasting in the comments, and some of those comments are pretty good too.
*1 reviewers is where they are wanting the book closed down. Some really huffy reviewers there. 🙂 but well debated in the comments.

Sort of gives heart that many others are aware of the danger of islam, and will buy this book to for friends and families

5* Me and my muslim mate have both bought this and well into it. We’ve scanned through it before going back to the start and both picked out points we both knew from the koran, but this book gives it the real context and not the tripe politicians, the main stream media and idiots who haven’t even bothered reading the koran try and feed the gullible public. It’s more interesting to read it in it’s chronological order. When he read the part at the start which said if you’re a muslim put this down laughed his backside off.

It seems the message is getting through perhaps. Perhaps they may become reforming muslims if not ex muslims. Would really like to know what they think about things in a months time, and why they gave it a 5*

    • A favorite trick of Muslim apologists is to ignore the reality of abrogation. Abrogation is the technical term of handling the self-contradictions of the Koran by taking as mandatory the supposedly latest verses. Where two verses are contradictory, the later verse is the authoritative one.

Thus, when Muslim apologists, like the Muslim convert who was on Tucker Carlson last night, defend Islam, they say the Koran mandates the right of the individual to choose his own religion. Anyone who knows the first thing about Islam knows that is not true, that later verses mandate that non-believers either convert or submit. These people are lying, but unless you have someone at least glancingly familiar with Islam, they are not challenged.

      • I watched the interview and it is beyond my comprehension how a quite intelligent looking guy can fall for such rubbish !

  5. If Poland and Hungary cave to the forced migration of anti-Christians to their ancient lands, they’ll be as badly off as before the Wall came down in ’89.

Both proud nations should leave the EU with Britain or slowly perish under their voluntary enslavement.

    • The EU’s main tool of coercion right now is an economic threat. Orban is a real patriotic leader, and put the Hungarian government on a sound fiscal basis. The EU has no real hold over Hungary now. I don’t know about Poland.

Probably their best course is to not take any formal action with respect to the EU but simply institute what nationalist policies they want to, and let the EU stew in its own juices. For instance, the V4 countries should initiate a passport-only travel policy, forcing visitors from EU countries to obtain passports and visas to enter. This goes against the EU rules, but since the EU is issuing threats, might as well go whole hog.

The EU countries and Britain, in or out of the EU, are on the way to essentially boycotting Israel, so Israel and the V4 countries might as well come to trading agreement and bypass EU altogether. If Israel would wean itself from US foreign aid, they could bring Russia and China into the marketing agreements.

  6. A video of the beheading of a child near the city of Aleppo by fighters belonging to the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, a group that had been supported by the CIA as part of its rebel aid program, sends chills down everyone’s spines and calls for an international criminal trial for those financing this war crime…i.e. the CIA.

  7. The ABC has been slammed for using its current affairs program to promote controversial Labor senator Sam Dastyari’s new book ‘One Halal of A Story’

The ABC is no different from the BBC – PC bias is foundational. It appears that the good thing about Iranian born Dastyari is that he is a non-practicing Muslim. In fact, the West’s alliance with the Arabs is misplaced. Arab Muslims hate the West, whereas most Iranians love us. It is only their government which deserves immediate death by firing squad.

However, the Arabs have invested heavily in the West with their oil money, so now they are entrenched (like the Chinese). Yet it is the Arabs who are far greater sponsors of terrorism than the Iranians, because they have more money and their reach is global – even into our educational institutions and prisons! And it is the Arabs who are funding the mosque-building epidemic. In places like the Balkans they are building Arab residential enclaves, which I’m sure has been reported at GoV before.

Sadly Australia is similar to Canada – populated by a large number of PC fools who believe ‘The Lucky Country’ will always remain so, despite reality staring them in the face.

    • The divide is really Sunni versus Shia rather than Arab versus non-Arab. I agree the claims that Iran is the number one sponsor of terror are dicey. Israel, which is on the receiving end of Hezbollah and Hamas, might beg to differ.

In international affairs, it really doesn’t matter if the population is well disposed to another country or not. What matters is the government and the military power the government can bring to bear.

I agree it is stupid to allow another country, like Saudi Arabia, to obtain a financial grip over you. Saudi Arabia has us by the throat because they have funded US deficit spending by buying hundreds of billions of dollars worth of treasury notes. Saudi Arabia could easily throw us into a crisis by floating the bonds on the open market.

No government engaged in deficit spending is independent, including the US government.

      • Exactly! Which gives us pause to figure out why Obama was so nice to the Iranians. I think it was payback to the Saudis for their hostility to his beloved Muslim Brotherhood, which he did his utmost to protect in Egypt and thankfully failed.

    • Saudi Arabia, Iran and Turkey are the same stinky thing coloured in slightly different shades of green. Enemies of free speech should not be allowed in the pluralism game or they will destroy the same plural atmosphere that let them in.

While it’s true Saudis are more active in Europe, Iran has it’s own people in Canada, US and Latin America, guess many already know this. But at the same time I am against the kind of military intervention in Iran as recommended by alt right these days: 1. it’s my home. 2. You don’t want another 80 million people flood into Europe. 3. You, conservatives, may find new allies if you can cure Iran not destroy it. The process requires time and careful considerations, the evil is strong, but I think the idea is worth considering.

      • “But at the same time I am against the kind of military intervention in Iran as recommended by alt right these days:…”

I think you have things a bit mixed up.

The alt-right is America First, basically isolationist, taking the position the US should stay out of the affairs of other countries unless it involves a direct, not indirect or economic, threat to US physical security.

The only argument for intervention in Iran is that Iran is developing nuclear missiles and the capability of delivering them to the continental US. Even Trump has not abrogated the nuclear treaty, so it must be holding.

As far as the US intervening indirectly and pulling Iran’s chestnuts out of the Islamist fire, I’m against it. We intervened to place the Shah in power, and kind of intervened to get him out of power. Both actions resulted in disaster.

It’s up to the Iranians to topple their own unsuitable government, or suck it in and live under it. Asking the US to cure Iran is like asking the wolf to cure the sheep. The US can, maybe, look out for its own security interest, but the US is eminently unsuited to dictate the forms of government for other countries.

        • I don’t ask US to cure Iran. Just do not support them, that’s all I want. Without US support these guys will not last long. They are developing nuclear weapons for 30 years, nothing really happens. Shah was overthrown only after one year for the same reason. Guess why? Because he financed independent Republicans in US and right-wing in Italy. Nuclear weapon is just an excuse to fill the newspapers.

  8. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump was shown a disturbing video of Syrian rebels beheading a child near the city of Aleppo.

How long will it take to get through everyone’s willful ignorance that Islam is a brutality no matter which way you turn it? Same with Communism and Nazism. It is ONLY Christianity which says ‘Love your neighbor’ and Moses who said ‘Thou shalt not kill’.

This is underlined by the article on Danzig Baldaev’s gruesome drawings from the Gulag. It is also underlined by the appalling behavior of Muslims in Europe raping women, boys, girls and even men, not to mention their genocide of Yazidis, Jews and Christians in the ME.

How much torture are we going to take before we just give up, admit we are nothing but spineless cowards, prostrate ourselves and allow Islam and its allies of the Left to establish another gulag – but this one will be global!

    • Actually, the commandment was not “Thou shalt not kill” but “Thou shalt not murder”.

I don’t disagree with what you said about Islam, but in the European countries, including England, accused heretics and people with the wrong Christian affiliation were roasted slowly over fires. You can say this is not really Christianity, but when any religion, Christianity or any other, becomes part of the government, you lose the religious aspect and emphasize the political aspect.

      • The word of God says, ‘Do thou no murder.” Moses had nothing to do with writing the ten commandents.

      • Notice that it is ‘Protestant’ nations that are the most secular today, are the most welcoming of Muslims and in the past, were the most persecuting and intolerant of any who disagreed with them – as you rightly point out. The Spanish Inquisition was an irregularity within Catholicism! (Read Lord Acton)

It was Protestant Germany which bequeathed us the Holocaust. Hitler demanded that Catholic Italy turn over their Jews and they REFUSED!

The Catholic Church has always maintained its independence from the State. It relies upon the State to protect its right to the spiritual shepherding of its flock – now completely trampled upon.

On the other hand, the Protestant Church was TAKEN OVER by the State and as a result today we have the church utterly dependent on State PC ideology – the Protestant churches’ aims are little different from every secular ‘human rights-multiculturalism-climate change’ NGO! They have given up saving souls!

Sadly under this idiot Pope – the Catholic church has also made itself entirely irrelevant, after poisoning itself with sexual abuse scandals, corruption in the Vatican and South American, anti-Western PC bigotry.

The small churches today, which call on the directing power and personal experience of the Holy Spirit and the Underground Catholic Churches (hostile to the Pope and Vatican 11), maybe our only hope of spiritual redemption.

  9. Stalin: Upon the death of his beloved Kato many years earlier, he had said: “with her died my last warm feelings for humanity.”

Except that according to what I’ve read, she committed suicide after they’d rowed and he had flirted with other women in the hothouse atmosphere of their early tyranny! Ivan the Terrible has a similar story and turned to extreme violence after the death of his wife.

Many people lose their partners but it doesn’t cause them to be psychopathic mass murderers! They are brutal megalomaniacs and ought to have been strangled at birth!

  10. I am subscribed to Spotify, but I am reevaluating that.

The reason is that they are quite pozzed and regularly try to push their leftist agenda via the song lists that appear when you open the Spotify program.

  11. Hungary, Poland, Czech Repub. must find a way to turn off the money tap from the EU. As long as they accept funding from the EU they will be vulnerable to ‘extortion’.

“There is still time to change everything and come back to normality,” said EU Migration Commissioner … So now we have a new definition of normality, ie., like it or not a country must accept those who pose a clear risk to the security and well being of its citizens and culture.

Orban talks well, I want to believe he will not back down however he is a pragmatist also. There is this from Tusnádfürdő:
“In answer to a question on “why Hungary isn’t tougher with the representatives of the Soros Empire in Hungary”, Mr. Orbán said: “We still can be”, but added that “in European politics there are limits to the measures that one can use in political battles, and we’ve never violated those limits”, unlike our opponents… But then there is this: “The red line was crossed when this Soros Empire ventured into the territory of national security. George Soros began using his money, people and institutions to transport migrants into Europe and announced his programme in the interests of achieving this”. “This is contrary to the Hungarian people’s security, to Hungary’s short-, medium- and long-term interests, and it undermines the national security of the Hungarian people and Hungary. This is unforgiveable”, Mr. Orbán said, adding that “This is not about George Soros, but about our security: about the security of every Hungarian, a life safe from terrorism, and the preservation of our cultural identity”.
Strong words but will he decide he has reached the ‘limit’ to the measures available? I do not believe he can. He must stand firm or he (and Magyarorszag ) are finished.
Will the V4 wait and risk ‘punishment?” Will it be withholding funding? Restrict voting rights? Make diplomats persona non grata?
I would not be surprised that whatever they do will be designed to make things more difficult for the average citizen in hopes of turning voters against the anti migrant leaders.
Either way this could be fodder for the opposition MSZP and Jobbik.

I would rather live with whatever ‘punishments’ than see this country and the others descend into the pit. What will the EU do if the V4 remain resolute?

    • He now has two allies – Trump and Israel. Germans themselves are flocking to Hungary to escape the Muslim invasion. They will support him too.

      • Trump is NOT an ally. The State Department is publicly pressuring Orban to lay off Soros U. And that includes Sec. Tillerson himself.

For whatever reason, the Trump administration seems to want to leave Soros undrained when they dry up the rest of the swamp.

        • There is a very disturbing situation where a group heavily affiliated with George Soros has forgiven a $300 million loan to Trump.
          https://wearechange.org/george-soros-forgive-trump-312-million-debt/

What is even more disturbing is that the media, looking under anthills for the slightest dirt or irregularity concerning Trump or his appointees, is totally quiet about this glaring question of influence peddling.

What does it mean? I don’t know. I doubt that Soros himself will take any heat from the US government or Justice Department. This may be part of the explanation for why Trump signed the idiotic, unjustified and downright dangerous Russian sanctions bill.

  12. Baldaev was not “a victim of GULAG” but a guard in the camps, who reached the rank of colonel in the Military Force of the Internal Ministry (“войска МВД”) of the USSR. He collected prisoners’ tatoos, recorded the “folklore” of criminals and compiled a dictionary of criminal slang. His drawings were created on the grounds of criminal folklore. I would be quite reluctant to accept this person as an objective source of information about the “political Gulag”.

  13. Regarding the Australian plotters: As ye sow, so shall ye reap. Let these bastards into your country in the name of whatever it is; worse, let them stay, and wander around, even when you know they are evil and dangerous ……………… and then something goes wrong! What on earth do you expect?
