As the publisher of The Economic Collapse Blog, there have been times when I have been criticized for focusing too much on our economic problems and not enough on the solutions. But I believe that in order to be willing to accept the solutions that are necessary, people need to have a full understanding of the true severity of our problems. It isn’t by accident that we ended up 20 trillion dollars in debt. In 1913, a bill was rushed through Congress right before Christmas that was based on a plan that had been secretly developed by very powerful Wall Street bankers. G. Edward Griffin did an amazing job of documenting the development of this plan in his groundbreaking book “The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve”. At that time, most Americans had no idea what a central bank does or what one would mean for the U.S. economy. Sadly, even though more than a century has passed since that time, most Americans still do not understand the Federal Reserve.
The Federal Reserve was designed to create debt, and of course the Wall Street bankers were very excited about such a system because it would make them even wealthier. Since the Fed was created in 1913, the U.S. national debt has gotten more than 5000 times larger and the value of the U.S. dollar has declined by about 98 percent. So the Federal Reserve is doing what it was originally designed to do. In fact, it has probably worked better than the original designers ever dreamed possible.
There is often a lot of confusion about the Federal Reserve, because a lot of people think that it is simply an agency of the federal government. But of course that is not true at all. In fact, as Ron Paul likes to say, the Federal Reserve is about as “federal” as Federal Express is.
The Fed is an independent central bank that has even argued in court that it is not an agency of the federal government. Yes, the president appoints the leadership of the Fed, but the Fed and other central banks around the world have always fiercely guarded their “independence”. On the official Fed website, it is admitted that the 12 regional Federal Reserve banks are organized “much like private corporations”, and they very much operate like private entities. They even issue shares of stock to the private banks that own them.
In case you were wondering, the federal government has zero shares.
The American people are constantly being told that Fed decisions must be “above politics” because they are “too important” to be politicized. So even though everything else in our society is up for political debate, somehow we have become convinced that the Federal Reserve should be off limits.

Deputies: Man Reportedly Carrying Human Head Stabs Employee at Estacada Store
ESTACADA, Ore. — A man reportedly covered in blood, holding a knife and carrying what appeared to be a human head walked into an Estacada grocery store and stabbed an employee Sunday afternoon, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect is in custody.
The man, who has not been identified, walked into Estacada Thriftway Harvest Market at around 2:15 p.m.
“I was watching the basketall game and I heard all these sirens go by,” said Larry Cutler, who lives by the store. “So I opened up the window and I seen all these cops flying in and all the ambulances. I seen one person get carried out on a stretcher.”
Once inside, he stabbed a store employee, who was flown to a hospital, according to Sandy Police. The condition of the employee, who was airlifted to a hospital, was not immediately known.
Employees at the store then tackled the suspect and held him down until police arrived, Estacada Fire said. The suspect was taken to a hospital after being brought into custody.
At 2:35 p.m., a 911 caller reported finding a woman who appeared to be dead inside a home in the 25000 block of Elwood Road in Colton, about 10 miles from the store. Deputies arrived at the home and located a body…

Despite “Freedom Act, “ NSA Collected 151 Million Phone Records in 2016
An April 27 report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed that during 2016 the National Security Agency (NSA) collected some 151 million phone records of Americans, despite passage of the USA Freedom Act of 2015. While that law supposedly ended the program enabling the NSA to collect the phone records of Americans in bulk, it nonetheless allowed the NSA to continue accessing records from phone numbers of suspected terrorists via court orders.

Edward Snowden and over 100 other activists called for President Trump to drop charges brought against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
The Guardian reports that over 100 activists have signed an open letter calling for President Trump to drop any possible charges being brought against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “A threat to WikiLeaks’ work — which is publishing information protected under the First Amendment — is a threat to all free journalism,” the open letter reads.

Hawaii Lawyer: Trump Exec Order Violates 1st Amendment Because Honor Killings Are Islamic
The lawyer representing the State of Hawaii in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit today has stated the collection of data with regards honor killings should be removed from President Trump’s Executive Order in order to “pass constitutional muster”.
In his arguments, Neal Katyal stated today that the collection of such data as outlined by the Executive Order 13780 contravenes the Establishment Clause, in the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…”.
In doing so, Katyal appears to be making the case that honor killings — murder committed in the name of restoring a family’s dignity following discouraged behaviour within fundamentalist homes — is in itself Islamic.

How Google Censors the New American (And Other Conservatives)
You might have heard about social-media and search engine censorship of conservative news sources: Twitter’s “shadowbanning,” Facebook’s news “curators,” and Google’s nine different blacklists. I’ve not only heard and written about it but experienced its effects — and it has happened yet again.
While writing an article Friday, I wanted to link up to previous articles I’d written that provided background information. Believe it or not, though, since I’ve penned literally thousands of pieces over the years, the easiest way for me to find a given article is the same way you would: via a search engine.
I was looking for pieces I’d written, at The New American, about schoolchildren punished for innocent play such as pointing their fingers like a gun and saying “Bang!” So I went to Google and entered as search terms and phrases, “‘Selwyn Duke’ pointed fingers like gun and said bang ‘the new American.’“
For those who don’t know, when search phrases are in quotation marks — as my name and The New American are above — the Google search engine gives you results with that exact phrase in them. It’s a way of providing the engine specificity and narrowing the results.
So I clicked the search button.
Nothing.
Nothing relevant from The New American (TNA), anyway, on any page I checked. I knew Google was playing games, as I’d had similar experiences before. So I scrolled to the bottom of the page where Google states:…
Obviously, Google is not completely blacklisting TNA and other similar traditionalist sites. But it is de-emphasizing them by burying their results. It’s the kind of slick censorship that provides plausible deniability.

How Leftism and the U.S. Government Corrupted American Art
Universities can’t teach traditional art any more, because there is nobody left skilled enough to teach it. Classical drawing was rejected years ago; life drawings are not even on the curriculum at many formerly great schools. Worse yet, none of the teachers learned these subjects themselves, so would be unable to draw or teach if traditional techniques were put back on the syllabus.
It might take decades, or even centuries, to reconstruct the knowledge that has been lost in the West — assuming the art world will ever get tired of modern art. Proof, if further proof were needed, that social engineering by governments destroy everything they claim to defend.
Ironically, technology — which has enabled so much bad art — is probably the only way to save the discipline. Communities that trade, commission and sell art appear to have similar standards to the ones classical marketplaces did. Startups that help art lovers keep track of and share their favourite works discover that punters regularly name Old Masters as their favourite artists.

New Orleans Removes Jefferson Davis Monument; Gens. Beauregard, Lee Next
“Iconoclasm is the social belief in the importance of the destruction of usually religious icons and other images or monuments, most frequently for religious and/ or political reasons.” Those words, from a Wikipedia article, not only aptly define “iconoclasm” but perahps also capture the underlying issue invovled in the step-by-step elimination of Confederate monuments in New Orleans.
New Orleans city workers removed a statue of former Confederate President Jefferson Davis in the pre-dawn hours on May 11, as protesters both for and against the removal of the 106-year-old monument stood nearby. A group opposed to the statue’s removal chanted “President Davis” and saluted the stature prior to its removal. As it was taken down, another group of people who had wanted it removed cheered and sang the chorus from “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,” a late 1960s pop song often chanted at sporting events after a rival team’s player, such as a pitcher, has been pulled from the game.
The city government purposely did not announce the timing of the statues’ removal, citing what it claimed were threats that some had made toward contractors who would do the work. Cardboard and tape covered contractors’ names on equipment used for the removal operation. The removal operation (shown) started very early, as a crane arrived shortly after 3 a.m. Workers who arrived an hour later wrapped the Davis statue in green plastic and by 5 a.m. the statue was lifted form its pedestal by the crane. It took another hour for it to be loaded onto a trailer, which took it to an undisclosed city facility for storage. It will eventually be delivered to a museum or other “suitable place,” according to New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
As was the case following the removal of the Liberty Place monument on April 24, the removal of the Davis statue provoked immediate condemnation from defenders of the Crescent City’s historic monuments.
Pierre McGraw, the president of the Monumental Task Committee (an all-volunteer, non-political organization that has taken care of all New Orleans monuments for over 25 years) said in a statement.
Another historic monument was removed under the cover of darkness using amateur, masked workers in armor, unmarked vehicles and equipment, and with a heavy law enforcement presence. This time it was of Jefferson Davis, the former President of the Confederacy, but who was also a West Point graduate, a hero of the Mexican-American War, and the United States Secretary of War. Mayor Landrieu says the removals are to make “New Orleans more diverse,” but Landrieu cannot be inclusive, tolerant, or diverse when he is erasing a very specific and undeniable part of New Orleans’ history.
McGraw was present during the statues’ removal and said: “I am here to witness this debacle, taking down this 106-year-old beautiful monument. It hurts a lot.”

Authorities say a California woman begged a judge to evict her tenant, just days before she recorded her own murder.
Prosecutors released a recording Friday that police found at the crime scene, made by a person who is believed to be the victim before she was murdered. The release took place at a preliminary trial hearing for defendant Scott Pettigrew, who is accused of murdering Mimie Anita Cowen in Palm Springs last June, WTSP reported.

“The Votescam investigation began in 1970, in — surprise! — Dade County, Florida, where Ken ran for Congress (with Jim as his campaign manager). Ken was rigged out of the election through a vote scam, which the Colliers later discovered was used throughout the country for decades. It went like this: The local newscaster would announce during the broadcast of election returns that the election “computer has broken down.” Instead of giving official returns from the county courthouse, the networks would be running vote “projections” for the rest of the night.
“Jim and Ken, who had garnered 30 percent of the vote, noticed that when the vote totals came back on the screen after the announcement, they had mysteriously lost 15 percentage points. They didn’t get another vote for the rest of the night. When they examined the “official” election results from for the September primary, October run-off and November final election in Dade County, the record listed a total of 141,000 votes cast for the governors race in each election. The exact same number of total votes were cast for three elections with a different number of candidates running each time. The same identical figures were listed for the Senate race in the primary, run-off and final election. This, of course, is a statistical impossibility.
“When they compared the “official” vote results with a print-out of the vote “projections” broadcast by the TV networks on the final election night, they found that channel 4 had “projected” with near perfect accuracy the results of 40 races with 250 candidates only 4 minutes after the polls closed. Channel 7 came even closer; at 9:31 pm, they “projected” the final vote total for a race at 96,499 votes. When the Colliers checked the “official” number . . . it was also 96,499.
“The networks then made the astonishing claim that the results from a single voting machine somewhere in Dade County were run through a computer program in order to get these vote projections. Elton Davis was the computer programmer responsible for the magic formula that could convert one machine’s vote results into near perfect projected vote totals for 40 races and 250 candidates. When Jim and Ken confronted Davis in his office at the University of Miami, he responded: “You’ll never prove it, now get out.”

Soros-Funded Think Tank Attempts to Silence Critical Journalists
Two journalists that had been critical of the Atlantic Council, a George Soros-funded think tank, have found themselves under attack by the organization.
(Bombthrowers editorial note: On its website, the Atlantic Council of the United States discloses receiving between $50,000 and $99,000 from Soros’s Open Society Foundations. But that presents an incomplete picture. IRS filings reveal Soros’s Open Society Institute has given $248,259 to the Atlantic Council since 2002.)
On Friday, thousands of emails and documents from the Macron campaign were published on the 4chan messageboard /pol/. The dump caught the attention of Jack Posobiec, Rebel Media’s DC Bureau Chief, who subsequently tweeted a link to it. Soon, the journalist found himself under attack — as the Atlantic Council, a Soros-funded think tank, had named him as being responsible for the spread of the content along with WikiLeaks.

Soros Board Member: Create Government Version of Facebook to Combat Breitbart
A media researcher who serves on the global board of billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations has called for the creation of a “public social media platform” to counter an alleged “right-wing media network,” which he claims is “anchored” around Breitbart News.
Ethan Zuckerman is director of the Center for Civic Media at MIT and serves as the principal research scientist at MIT’s Media Lab. He is also a member of the global board of Soros’ Open Society Foundations.

Terrorism Insurance Covers Losses Incurred by Certain Acts
Disaster insurance is something most people don’t want to think about. Businesses don’t plan on interruptions due to natural and unnatural disasters. This line of insurance includes fire, tornado, flood, earthquakes and even terrorism insurance.
According to Mark Leverick, U.S. property terrorism leader with Aon Risk Solutions, about 60-70 percent of businesses in the U.S. have terrorism insurance. This type of insurance is offered either through stand-alone coverage or through the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act or the extension, Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2015. TRIA was created as a temporary program that provided a federal backstop for certain incurred losses resulting from a certified act of terrorism. TRIA covers property protection and casualty.

EU Army Will Happen: Juncker Admits Joint Force as France and Germany Start Defense Fund
The Brussels bigwig said the military force would add “additional weight to the European foreign and security policy”, bringing the controversial military force one step closer to becoming a reality.
His remarks come after it emerged Brussels is planning to deploy the bloc budget for the first time for military purposes in the wake of Britain’s Brexit vote.
The proposed European Defence Fund is set to finance developments of prototype military kits such as cyber defence technology including robots and drones. It is being pushed forward by France and Germany.

Sponsored by the European Commission, a newly released film by Européens Sans Frontières (Europeans Without Borders) depicts the EU as a magical fairy that rescues Muslim refugees on a magic carpet. Titled Eurodame, Help!, the film looks like a bad parody of classic agitprop, but it’s real—and it makes one wonder what the French artists were smoking at the studio.

Italy: Islamic Group Plantiff in Civil Trial Against Belpietro
CAIM filed suit against writer of ‘Islamic bastards’ story
(ANSA) — Milan, May 15 — A Milan judge on Monday admitted the Coordination of Islamic Associations in Milan and Monza (CAIM) group as a civil plaintiff in the trial against Marco Belpietro, who wrote a front-page news story in November 2015 titled “Islamic bastards” when he was editor of Italian newspaper Libero.
The story was in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris.
In the public prosecutor’s indictment Belpietro is accused of having “publicly injured the Islam religion through contempt towards those who profess it”.
The next hearing will be held June 5.

Italy: Indictments Sought for Ex-MPs Execs Viola, Profumo

(ANSA) — Milan, May 15 — Milan prosecutors on Monday requested the indictment of former Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank (MPS) president Alessandro Profumo and ex-CEO Fabrizio Viola, as well as the former chair of the council of auditors, Paolo Salvadori, on charges of false accounting and share-rigging. A Milan judge last month instructed prosecutors to indict Profumo and Viola after prosecutors had asked to shelve the case against the pair.
Profumo and Viola said they were innocent of the charges.
“I am sure my actions were correct,” said Profumo.
MPS, Italy’s third-biggest and the world’s oldest lender, has endured a string of probes and financial woes that have forced the government to launch a precautionary recapitalisation to offset bad loans that helped place it last in a European Central Bank stress test last summer.

In 2015, Omar El-Hussein listened to the imam Hajj Saeed, at the Hizb-ut-Tahrir- linked Al-Faruq-mosque in Copenhagen, decry interfaith dialogue as a “malignant” idea and explain that the right way, according to Mohammed, is to wage war on the Jews. The next day, El-Hussein went out and murdered Dan Uzan, the volunteer Jewish guard of the Jewish community, as he was standing in front of the Copenhagen synagogue. El-Hussein had also just murdered Finn Nørgaard, a film director, outside a meeting about freedom of speech.
Two years later, nothing has changed. A visiting imam from Lebanon at the Al-Faruq mosque, Mundhir Abdallah, is preaching to murder Jews:
“[Soon there will be] a Caliphate, which will instate the shari’a of Allah and revive the Sunna of His Prophet, which will wage Jihad for the sake of Allah, which will unite the Islamic nation after it disintegrated, and which will liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the Zionists, so that the words of the Prophet Muhammad will be fulfilled: ‘Judgement Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. The Jews will hide behind the rocks and the trees, but the rocks and the trees will say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ …”

Far from hiding this incitement, the mosque posted the sermon, delivered on March 31, on the YouTube page of Al-Faruq Mosque on May 7. The invaluable research organization, MEMRI, translated it.

Marine Le Pen Returns to Front National as Party Launch Election Fightback Against Macron
The anti-EU firebrand has rejoined the party after she briefly left ahead of the second round of voting for the presidential election last week, where she secured just 34 per cent of the vote.
But it is unclear if Ms Le Pen will be standing in the June parliamentary election as Front National position themselves to be a thorn in side of the newly elected president.
Despite winning the top job, Emmanuel Macron faces a bitter fight for power in the parliamentary elections as the centrist battles to push ahead with his progressive politics.
President Macron, who established centrist party En Marche! in April 2016, currently has no members from his own party in parliament.

New EU Nightmare: Brussels Faces Another Populist Test as Austria Heads for Early Election
Voters will head to the ballot box with the far-right Freedom Party (FPO)currently leading the polls as the battered EU has to prepare itself for another nail biting campaign.
The bloc had recently stabilised with victories over populists in the Netherlands and France and had just the German election, which pits to pro-EU candidates against each other, to contend with this year.

Pope to Convince Trump on Climate Change, Sorondo Tells ANSA
‘Oil companies rallied against pope’s encyclical’
(ANSA) — Vatican City, May 15 — Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez told ANSA in an interview that he believes the Pope will convince US President Donald Trump to change his mind on climate change. Pope Francis dedicated his ‘Laudato Si’ encyclical to climate change and will be meeting with Donald Trump on May 24, who has signed an executive order dismantling Obama-era environmental legislation.
In the eyes of Sanchez Sorondo, the choices adopted on climate by Trump “are against science, even before being against what the Pope says. In the election campaign he even said it was a Chinese invention to criticize America. But this president has already changed about several things, so perhaps on this as well”.
He added that “today the Chinese are actually very collaborative as concerns the commitments they took on climate with the Paris Climate Conference (the Conference of the Parties, or COP2)”.
The Argentinian bishop, who spoke last week at the University of the Holy Cross at an event marking the two-year anniversary of the Pope’s encyclical, said that “when he was preparing the ‘Laudato Si’, oil lobbies did everything in their power to prevent the Pope from saying what he did, meaning that climate change is caused by human activity that employ fossil fuels.
Perhaps the oil companies wanted a ‘light’ encyclical’ — a romantic one on nature that wouldn’t say anything at all.
Instead, the Pope followed what the scientific community says.

The Talmudic adage “he who criticizes another’s imperfection is guilty of the identical imperfection” found pungent significance this week when the so-called Palestinian Information Center (PIC) website preempted the findings of the Cities Association for Environmental Quality. The Cities Association had discovered a 19-mile long pool of sewage water stretching from the Arab city of Ramallah all the way to Israel’s Modi’in Illit and the Palestine Center wrote an article accusing Israel of what is in reality the PA’s environmentally damaging practices.
On Thursday, May 11th, at approximately the time of the discovery, the PIC website carried the following: “Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics revealed that Jewish settlements flood the West Bank with 40 million cubic meters of wastewater annually. The annual production of wastewater in the West Bank, however, is 34 million cubic meters.”
It is unclear whether the intention is that “settlers” produce 6 million more cubic meters of wastewater than are in physical existence, or that the 420,000 Jews produce 6 million more cubic meters of wastewater than the close to 2 million Arabs living in Judea and Samaria or that the Israelis bring in wastewater to flood the area. Any way you look at it, it amounts to an almost Olympian achievement.[…]

Today in History: Harry Truman Defies State Department, Recognizes Israel
The diplomats at the United Nations were taken by surprise. Clifford notes their reaction in his memoir: “As The New York Times reported the next morning, ‘the first reaction was that someone was making a terrible joke, and some diplomats broke into skeptical laughs.’“
But reality soon set in. The United States had recognized Israel — and the Soviet Union did the same a few days later.
Since then, the State Department has generally retained an anti-Israel bias — partly because of the oil reserves controlled by Israel’s enemies, and partly because of the sheer number of Arab and Muslim states, which allows them to exert disproportionate power in many international institutions.
The left’s embrace of the Palestinian cause has also affected the political culture in Washington. The consensus in the foreign policy community is that moves such as relocating the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem would launch — indeed, almost justify — a “third intifada.”
But for Truman, the issue of recognizing Israel was fundamentally a moral one. And he was not going to let any bureaucrat, or any foreign threat, stand in his way.
As he wrote to his brother on March 22, 1948: “I think the proper thing to do, and the thing I have been doing, is to do what I think is right and let them all go to hell.”

Pentagon to Use AI to Defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria

Codenamed Project Maven, it will analyse aerial surveillance video to look for patterns that can help operators.

The Syrian branch of al-Qaeda, currently calling itself Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), has succeeded in getting itself off Canada’s list of designated terrorist entities following its latest identity shift.
That complicates the task of prosecuting Canadians who travel to join the group, send it money or propagandize on its behalf.
It also illustrates the pitfalls of Canada following the lead of the U.S. in designating terror groups.
HTS escapes being listed at a time when it is absorbing other jihadi groups and attracting more recruits, even as the Islamic State retreats on multiple fronts.
HTS has a history of renaming itself and altering its structure to confuse outsiders, and the Syrian population, about its true affiliations. But until now, few observers have accepted its claims to have distanced itself from its parent organization.

New Film Exposes Takeover of South Africa by Communist Terrorists
A new documentary by the South African civil rights group AfriForum exposes uncomfortable truths about revolutionary Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC), including the fact that much of the Soviet-backed party’s violence was directed at black people who refused to fall in line. The film, Tainted Heroes, also shows the unfathomable brutality employed by the ANC, its terrorist wing, and the South African Communist Party that controlled it behind the scenes in the effort to seize political and economic power over South Africa. Especially noteworthy is the ANC’s brutal war against black organizations and individuals viewed as rivals.
As the United Nations-supported and Soviet-directed chaos and horror was unfolding — mass-murder of dissident blacks, savage torture of political enemies, the deliberate targeting of innocent women and children, and more — establishment media organs in the United States and across the Western world concealed the truth. And so, much of the real history of the ANC and its bloody “struggle” has remained carefully hidden from the public to this day. But now, with the new film, and the emergence of the Internet, the untold history of the ANC is finally coming out.
That myths about the ANC persist even today is obvious — many ignorant and uninformed people have little to no knowledge of the group’s real history aside from bogus platitudes and mythology. For instance, the ANC and its revisionist allies around the world like to pretend that the organization was merely involved in a “freedom struggle” against the apartheid system and the former white-led government. Mandela is often inaccurately characterized as a “political prisoner” who was jailed merely for his belief in “democracy” and his peaceful opposition to apartheid, a system of government-enforced segregation that was already being dismantled even before whites voted to surrender power in 1992.
But the film shatters many of the ANC myths and lies. Some of the most shocking testimony in the film comes from black victims of the ANC, as well as from ANC operatives who participated in the atrocities against both white and black civilians. Others shown in the film describe the brutal and deliberate murder of their families — including young children — by the ANC’s terrorist wing. Indeed, one former ANC operative interviewed and shown in the film describes how the ANC made a conscious decision to target even the wives and children of South African farmers for extermination.
Many scenes of the film are difficult to watch. Especially horrifying, for example, are the graphic descriptions and images of a terror tactic pioneered by the ANC for use against their black political enemies. It became known as “necklacing.” Basically, if a black person was suspected of being loyal to the government or hostile to the ANC, the ANC cadres would fill a tire with gasoline, put it around the victim’s neck, and set it on fire. The death is perhaps among the most excruciatingly painful imaginable…
Unfortunately, while the film hints at the issue, it does not spend as much time as it probably should have exposing the establishment and globalist forces in the Western world that backed the ANC even as it was massacring innocent whites and blacks in a brutal campaign of terror. As this magazine has been documenting for decades, South African communists had friends in high places, not just in Moscow, Beijing, Havana, and at UN headquarters in New York City, but in Washington, D.C., London, and beyond. Those forces proved crucial to the communist takeover of South Africa.
Especially important to helping the communist terrorist movement’s meteoric rise to power was help from organizations such as the globalist Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and its sister organs in other countries. Those forces also played a key role in sidelining black leaders opposed to communism and the ANC, including black leaders who were brought to America on speaking tours by The John Birch Society, which publishes this magazine, and other conservative and anti-communist organizations. This magazine extensively documented the facts at the time. But as far as the establishment was concerned, the black opponents of communism and the ANC did not even exist, despite often having far more legitimacy and support than the ANC within South Africa.

A Zimbabwean church pastor attempting to demonstrate how Jesus walked on water by crossing a South African river on foot was reportedly eaten alive when he was attacked by three crocodiles.
Jonathan Mthethwa of the Saint of the Last Days church in the town of White River Mpumalanga brought his congregation to the area known locally as Crocodile River before attempting his biblical recreation on March 24, local media reports.
According to witnesses, the pastor entered the water and waded out approximately 30 metres before attempting to make his way to the surface. Unfortunately for the pastor, three crocodiles are said to have pounced and devoured him.

Anti-Maduro Protests Persist in Venezuela, Teenager Dies in Unrest
Opponents of President Nicolas Maduro staged sit-ins and roadblocks across Venezuela on Monday to press for elections, sparking new unrest and a death in the border state of Tachira.
Luis Alviarez, 18, was killed during protests in the volatile western state, according to the state ombudsman’s office, which did not give more details.
That brought the death toll in six weeks of protest to at least 39.

Asylum Seekers Refuse to Leave Swedish Castle
Recently the Swedish Migration Board announced that the castle is one of several asylum accommodations in Halland which will be closed down. The accommodation will be closed in a month.
The residents are dissatisfied with being forced to move and many of them have signed a protest list to remain in the county asylum castle.
– We made the list of names because people do not want to move from here. Many families have children at school here and it is difficult for them to change school. Everyone have settled in society and it becomes difficult to move, says Fatima Hujaj, who started the protest list, to P4 Halland.

Italian Police: Mafia Working With Aid Group to Steal Millions From Migrant Funds
ROME (AP) — Italian police on Monday arrested 68 people, including a priest and the head of a Catholic volunteer group called “Mercy,” accusing them of being in cahoots with a major mafia clan that skimmed millions in public funds destined for one of Italy’s biggest migrant welcome centers.

Italy: Huge Op Nabs 68 ‘Ndrangheta Suspects in Migrant Biz
Local Misericordia chief and priest among people detained
(ANSA) — Catanzaro, May 15 — A huge police operation saw people suspected of links with the Arena clan of the ‘Ndrangheta mafia in the town of Isola Capo Rizzuto, near Crotone, detained on Monday. The operation is linked to an investigation into the clan’s alleged involvement in the management of migrant reception. The head of the Misericordia association in Isola Capo Rizzuto, Leonardo Sacco, and parish priest Edoardo Scordio, were among those detained. Father Scordio allegedly laundered proceeds from the scam in Swizteralnd, through his brother who lives there.
Misericordia runs a local reception centre for asylum seekers that is one of the biggest in Europe.
Through Sacco, the Arena clan managed to land contracts from the Crotone prefecture to supply catering services for the reception centres at Isola Capo Rizzuto and on the island of Lampedusa, where most migrants make landfall, investigative sources said.
The contracts were entrusted to companies specially set up by the Arenas and other ‘Ndrangheta families to divvy up the funds destined for migrant reception, the sources said.
The Arenas also muscled in on online gambling and hiring entertainment machines, sources said.
They had assumed a “dominant position” in this sector in Crotone and its hinterland, police said, using their powers of intimidation to make huge profits by altering the competitive balance and concentrating gambling in the hands of organised crime, pushing out legitimate commercial operators, police sources said. National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) chief Raffaele Cantone said the operation had “I think, only revealed the tip of the iceberg”.
Catanzaro prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, who spearheads the ‘Ndrangheta fight, said “wherever there is power or money there is ‘Ndrangheta, which even exploits the needs of the desperate”.

Italy: Cassation Rules Migrants Must Conform to Local Values

(ANSA) — Rome, May 15 — The Italian High Casssation Court on Monday ruled against a Sikh Indian migrant who wanted to carry in public a knife that his religion considers sacred, even though it is against Italian law. The Court said migrants who choose to live in the Western world have an obligation to conform to the values of the society they’ve chosen to settle in, even if its values differ from their own. “An attachment to one’s own values, even if they are lawful in the country of origin, is intolerable when it causes violating the laws of the host country,” the Court said.
“The multiethnic society is a necessity, but it can’t lead to the formation of conflicting cultural groups of islands according to the ethnicities they’re made up of, precluding the unity of the cultural and judicial fabric of our country, which identifies public safety as an asset to defend and as such bans carrying weapons and objects aimed at injury,” the Court said.

Italy: Migrant-Rescue Ships to Stop Landing in Sicily for G7
Gabrielli says move to ensure police not overstretched
(ANSA) — Rome, May 15 — Police chief Franco Gabrielli said Monday that ships involved in the rescue of asylum seekers in the Mediterranean will not be allowed to dock in Sicily until after this month’s G7 summit in Taormina. He said the move, which kicks on Monday and runs until May 28, “derives from the need to not put a burden on the police involved in summit security”.
Gabrielli said the ships carrying rescued asylum seekers would be diverted to ports in other regions in this period. On Sunday Defence Minister Roberta Pinotti said the armed forces were making a big contribution.
“There are 7,000 armed-service officials who help the Carabinieri (police) and (State) police with anti-terrorism measures and around 3,000 will be deployed for the G7,” she said. Pinotti added that “our defence forces are recognised the world over as among the world’s best and we should be proud of them because there are great professionals who know how to relate to populations they must help and restore stability where there is conflict. “And it is a defence that is called to defend our country at a time when the security challenges are many”.

(ANSA) — Rome, May 13 — The blog of 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader Beppe Grillo called on Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano to quit on Monday after dozens were arrested over alleged mafia involvement in migrant-reception contracts.
Alfano, the head of the centrist AP group, was interior minister from April 2013 until December 2016 under the premierships of Enrico Letta and then Matteo Renzi.
“Migrantopoli is a situation that must be dismantled as soon as possible,” read the post, playing on the name of the Tangentopoli corruption scandal of the early 1990s. “Reception centres are hens that lay golden eggs”.
The post alleged that all the parties of government in recent years had had relations with Leonardo Sacco, the head of the Misericordia association in Isola Capo Rizzuto who was among the detained on Monday.
It also cited other cases and people who are “friends of Minister Alfano”.

Record-breaking numbers of migrants are crossing the Mediterranean from Africa to Italy, prompting fears that authorities are powerless to stop another crisis.

Syrian ‘Refugee’ Given Life Sentence in Austria for War Crimes
The court in the western city of Innsbruck announced its ruling late on Wednesday after a jury found the 27-year-old guilty of 20 charges of “murder as a terror offence”.
The man, who denied the charges, was detained in a refugee shelter in Tyrol state last June after being denounced by a fellow Syrian.
According to Austrian media, the accused had boasted to other asylum seekers of belonging to a rebel unit and shooting unarmed or injured troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar-al Assad.

Taxi Firms Fined for Gouging Desperate Migrants
For the last several months, the route north has been marked by desperation. Migrants lacking legal status in the United States have been fleeing to Canada by taking buses to Plattsburgh, N.Y, and then hailing taxis to a country road that dead-ends in an unofficial border crossing.
It is a 40-kilometre ride to a new life, for which the going rate is $50 to $75 (U.S.). But one cab driver was charging $100 to $300 in cash, depending on his mood. And his passengers were not in a position to complain.
But after a two-month investigation into the price-gouging practices of several taxi companies ferrying passengers to the border in Champlain, the New York state attorney general, Eric T. Schneiderman, announced Wednesday that he had obtained a court order against Christopher Ray Crowningshield, the owner and operator of Northern Taxi.
Crowningshield had to pay the state $2,500. He must also post fares in the two taxis he operates, cannot charge more than 10 times the Plattsburgh maximum fare, $7.50, and must call the attorney general’s office each time he picks up a passenger headed for Roxham Road.
“This case sends a strong message: We won’t hesitate to protect our most vulnerable neighbours, in Plattsburgh, or New York City, or anywhere else around New York,” Schneiderman said in an email…

Top Private School Brings in Skirts for Boys Amidst ‘Surge’ In ‘Trans Children’
One of Britain’s top private schools is bringing in ‘gender-neutral’ uniforms that would allow boys to wear skirts, as teachers report growing numbers of children ‘questioning their gender identity’.
The move by Highgate School in north London comes as activist pupils at schools across the country are demanding ‘gender-neutral’ bathroom facilities, a ban on terms they deem ‘sexist’, and for teachers to use gender-neutral pronouns such as “they”.
“This generation is really questioning being binary in the way we look at things,” headteacher Adam Pettitt told The Sunday Times.
Separate uniforms for boys and girls will be scrapped under the plans, and pupils at the £6,790 per term secondary school are being consulted on a mix-and-match dress code.

Understanding the Muslim Mindset
Diffusing the present dangerous confrontation between Islam and the West demands rational, impartial, and cool heads to untangle facts from myth, and understand the Muslim mindset. We need to focus on the general mindset of Muslims which bears heavily on the hostility toward the West — a serious hostility that may bring about the dreaded Armageddon.
Patriarchy and authoritarianism
The Muslim’s mind is imprinted with authoritarianism which starts with the supreme authority, Allah, through his one and only prophet, Muhammad, his Caliphs or Imams, and the high-ranking religious divines all the way down to the village clergy. This authoritarian mentality encompasses all aspects of life for the Muslim: the king and his dominion as the viceroy of God, the Amir and his despotic ways, the Khan and his unchallenged rule over the tribe, the village headsman and his extensive power, and finally the father and his iron grip at home over the women and children. All these authority figures are male.
The authoritarian type possesses numerous problems and presents many ramifications — ramifications much too important and complex to be comprehensively treated here. For now, it is important to understand that a person with the authoritarian personality is an extremist. He can be docility itself under certain circumstances and a maniacal murdering brute under others. He is the type who would just as happily kill, or die, when he is directed to do so. He would, for instance, gladly strap on an explosive vest, in obedience to a superior’s order, and detonate it in a crowd of innocent civilians without the slightest hesitation.
