Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/14/2017

Richard Spencer, the popular white nationalist leader (commonly known as “alt-right” in the MSM) took part in a protest against the removal of a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Virginia. The protesters staged a torchlit rally, but were beset by counter-protesters. When the scene turned nasty, police were called, and both groups rapidly dispersed.

In other news, more than 600 American women have married jihad fighters for the Islamic State and traveled to Syria as ardent fighters in the jihad. They call themselves the “lionesses of Allah”, and their children are known as the “cubs of the Caliphate”.

Puerto Rico Could be Forced Under SEC Jurisdiction

Puerto Rico has long been a safe haven for businesses and investors weary of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Despite the fact that Puerto Rico’s public sector is going through bankruptcy, the private sector has enjoyed relative freedom from the intrusive hands of the U.S. government.

That will change if a bill making its way through Congress becomes law.

Companies formed in Puerto Rico (and other U.S. territories) have always been exempted from the Investment Company Act of 1940 if they only offer investments inside the territory. This means the SEC doesn’t have a say in how investment funds are structured and managed.

But the U.S. Territories Investor Protection Act of 2017 will end the exemption. The act has passed the house and is now being debated in the Senate.

The bill will give the SEC jurisdiction over Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories. The supposed purpose is to prevent companies from making risky investments, or defrauding their investors.

What this means:

Initially that might sound like a good thing, to extend protection to investors in Puerto Rico. But the issue is that the SEC doesn’t have the best track record, and investors may be specifically looking for markets not under their jurisdiction.

For example, the SEC gave Enron a clean bill of health, failing to discover their cooked books before it was too late to save investors. That type of regulation is worse than none at all, because it gives people a false sense of security. If investors know there is no organization watching out for them, they will do it themselves.

Democrats’ Love Affair With Communism

By Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

A bill narrowly passed the house in California, repealing part of the law enacted during the Cold War era in our country’s history when communists were really active and infiltrating our government, attempting to overthrow it.

The bill proposed to eliminate the section which allowed the firing of public employees if they were members of the Communist Party. The bill now goes to the Senate and its author, Democrat Assemblyman Rob Bonta, hopes that it will pass.

“Assemblyman Randy Voepel, a Southern California Republican who fought in the Vietnam War, said communists in North Korea and China are still a threat.”

Assemblyman Travis Allen, also a Republican, said that “this bill is blatantly offensive to all Californians. Communism stands for everything that the United States stands against.”

Why the Cold War era laws suddenly need changing is puzzling to other Republicans in the California legislature. It should not surprise anyone, given the fact that California is now ruled by a one party system, the Democrats; they have become advocates for communism, illegal aliens, and a sanctuary for law breakers.

Judging by the communist stance of academia on campuses around the country and the curriculum taught in our public schools, the Antifa fascist anarchists, Black Lives Matter, SEIU, and other “progressive” organizations around the country, communism is their way to attain social, environmental, and gender justice, an utopia that the U.N. is pushing through its many octopus organizations.

Why communism? The youth in this country have been taught revisionist history for a long time. Many have been purposefully asleep, in a drug stupor, or absent during their history classes. Communist teachers with an agenda of their own have glossed over the atrocities that various totalitarian communist dear leaders have committed against their own people.

Communism has been repackaged as globalism, global citizens, no borders, no national language, no culture, and no sovereignty under the rule of a few billionaire elites and the United Nations. And the Democrat Party has been hijacked and is run by communists who are no longer hiding their destructive agenda. Atheists are pushing hard for communism since atheism is the communist state’s sanctioned religion.

Encroachment of Government, Part 1

In my last series of articles I spoke often of the term ‘sustainable development’. This is a term that we will be hearing a lot about in the future as we drift towards a one world government. We are seeing a lot of this creeping into our lives in the form of ‘local’ development programs. I think if we all look back through our lives we will see things have been allowed to be integrated into our culture for the purpose of this so-called community betterment. Most of these things have been integrated for the purpose of eventually gaining total control of people. Here’s an example. Our Bill of Rights gives us the freedom to keep and bear arms but many States have taken that right away for the ‘safety of the masses’. We see the unfortunate results of this idiocy in the most dangerous places in the country, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, D.C. almost anywhere in California have not allowed the people to keep and bear arms without massive regulations in obtaining a license or permit. There is, in my opinion, a grave problem with this conduct by the State.

A court decision in Pennsylvania in 1943, Murdock v. Pennsylvania,[1] it was determined that “No state shall convert a liberty into a license, and charge a fee therefore.” We, as the American people, have the right to fight against the violation of our rights. John Jay stated: “Every member of the State ought diligently to read and to study the Constitution of his country. … By knowing their rights, they will sooner perceive when they are violated and be the better prepared to defend and assert them.” This was confirmed in Shuttlesworth v. City of Birmingham, Alabama, 373 U.S. 262,[2] “If the State converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.” Several of our Founders have declared that if a law violates the Constitution it is not just our right but our duty to ignore it. But our Constitution is no longer taught in our schools, our Founders are not discussed in depth other than the fact that some owned slaves making them insignificant in our politically correct society and to today’s school kids. Even our elected politicians do not know the Constitution.

I stated all of that to point out that our government today believes that the government is in need of controlling the population forgetting completely that our government is of the people, by the people and for the people. The government answers to us, we don’t answer to them. This, also, is not taught in schools either which means we have at least two and probably three generations that have been taught that the government is in control over all we do.

Kansas Bill Would Break Fed’s Currency Monopoly

Kansas lawmakers are considering a bill that would end the currency monopoly enjoyed by the Federal Reserve. The bill would end the tax on so-called capital gains realized from the buying and selling of specie.

House Bill 2421 is being deliberated by the House Committee on Taxation and if approved by state legislature and signed by the governor, the measure would eliminate taxes on the following transactions:

All sales of gold, silver and numismatic coins; palladium, platinum, gold or silver bullion; and currency. For the purposes of this subsection, “bullion” means bars, ingots, or commemorative medallions of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, or a combination thereof, for which the value of the metal depends on its content and not the form. “Currency” means a coin or currency made of gold, silver or other metal or currency made of paper.

New York City’s Reduced Crime Rates: Don’t be Fooled

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio recently boasted of a historic reduction in the city’s crime rates. While statistics don’t lie, they can be pretty deceptive if not analyzed intelligently and within the proper context.

Upon closer examination, it is eminently clear that the main reductions in crime have occurred in the rough and generally known to be unsafe neighborhoods, which are more often than not located in housing project areas of Brooklyn and the Bronx. The notoriously high number of shootings in East New York, Brownsville, Mott Haven, Port Morris, and so forth has declined, as residents of these heavily crime-infested regions are killing each other less and are victims of violence at a reduced frequency — whereas the safer areas of the city, such as Manhattan’s Upper East Side and Financial District, Brooklyn’s Borough Park (Chassidic), and large areas of Queens and Staten Island, were always considered safe, and the crime reduction statistics thus do not really impact there.

Unlike the unfortunate situation with the high-crime neighborhoods of South Bronx and Upper Brooklyn, people walking by Trump Tower, the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Stock Exchange never feared being grazed by flying bullets or being caught in the middle of a street gang shooting or stabbing rampage (notwithstanding the recent and unusual very high-profile violent crimes in Midtown Manhattan). So while this crime reduction is a success, it is one of a limited scope — so limited that it is not really felt by the majority of New Yorkers and visitors to the city.

Paul Craig Roberts Rages “Are You Ready to Die?”

“Fifty years ago, the streets of Leningrad taught me one thing: If a fight is inevitable, you must strike first.” — Vladimir Putin

In George Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel, 1984, information that no longer is consistent with Big Brother’s explanations is chucked down the Memory Hole. In the real American dystopia in which we currently live, the information is never reported at all.

On April 26 — 16 days ago — Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznihir, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, stated at the Moscow International Security Conference that the Operations Command of the Russian General Staff has concluded that Washington is preparing a nuclear first strike on Russia.

See:

  • themillenniumreport.com/2017/04/us-forces-preparing-sudden-nuclear-strike-on-russia-moscow-security-conference/

The Times-Gazett in Ashland, Ohio, was the only US print media that a Google search could turn up that reported this most alarming of all announcements. A Google search turned up no reports on US TV, and none on Canadian, Australian, European, or any other media except RT and Internet sites.

I have been unable to find any report that any US Senator or Representative or any European, Canadian, or Australian politician has raised a voice of concern.

No one in Washington got on the telephone to tell Putin that this was all a mistake, that the US was not preparing a nuclear first strike on Russia, or ask Putin how this serious situation could be defused.

Americans do not even know about it, except for our readers.

I would have expected at least that the CIA would have planted the story in the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, and NPR that General Poznihir was expressing his personal opinion, nothing to be taken seriously. But apparently Americans and their European vassals are not to even know that such an accussation was made.

As I reported some time ago and more recently in my column about North Korea, the Chinese leadership has also concluded that the US intends a nuclear first strike against China.

Alone either Russia or China can destroy the US. If they act together, the destruction of the US would be redundant. What is the intelligence, if any, and morality, clearly none, of the US leadership that recklessly and irresponsibly invites Russia and China to preempt Washington’s attack on them with an attack on the US?

Surely not even insouciant Americans are so stupid as to think that Russia and China will just sit there and wait for Washington’s nuclear attack.

I lived through every stage of the Cold War. I participated in it. Never in my life have I experienced the situation where two nuclear powers were convinced that the third was going to surprise them with a nuclear attack.

Spooky Happenings at Serial Killer Ted Bundy’s Home

(STAR-TELEGRAM) — TACOMA, Wash. — Unexplainable things happened in the Tacoma house where serial killer Ted Bundy grew up.

So many things, in fact, that a contractor hired to remodel the home penciled Bible scriptures on the walls and brought in two pastors to bless the house.

“I’m not one to believe a lot of this stuff, but this house made me a believer,” said Casey Clopton, the contractor.

A cry for help appeared on a window as crew members worked in the basement. Heavy furniture wedged into a wall toppled over. Doors and cabinets seemed to open themselves.

It all started in September, when David Truong bought the 1,400-square-foot home with plans to redo and flip it.

He didn’t research its history, so he didn’t know the local lore or who had lived there.

The little blue house was built in 1946, the same year Bundy was born in Vermont. The Bundy family moved into the home in 1955, records show.

Louise Bundy was no longer living there in 1989, when her 42-year-old son was executed in Florida after being convicted of killing two sorority sisters and a 12-year-old girl.

Investigators linked him to at least 30 slayings, though they believe there were dozens more. His killing spree started in 1974 in Washington and continued for years across 11 states.

The Impotence of the Anti-Trump Ruling Class

Nothing angers the ruling class more than Donald Trump’s utter indifference to its sham conventions and proprieties. This has produced a culture of pauseless fury, which grows louder with each passing day, even as ordinary Americans increasingly tune it out.

The American people are already shrugging at Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey. Yet from the hysterics of the ruling class, one would think that America stands on the edge of a political apocalypse.

Most Americans look at the firing and say: Who cares? To them, Comey is just one more self-serving pol in D.C. The elite’s hyperventilating predictions about his firing as a permanent blot on the Trump presidency is a joke. By next week, most Americans won’t even remember the details of this controversy.

White Nationalist Richard Spencer Leads Torch-Bearing Protesters Defending Lee Statue

Self-proclaimed white nationalist Richard Spencer led a large group of demonstrators carrying torches and chanting “You will not replace us” Saturday in Charlottesville, protesting plans to remove a Confederate monument that has played an outsize role in this year’s race for Virginia governor.

“What brings us together is that we are white, we are a people, we will not be replaced,” Spencer said at an afternoon protest, the first of two rallies he led in the town where he once attended the University of Virginia.

At the second rally, dozens of torch-bearing protesters gathered in a city park Saturday evening and chanted “You will not replace us” and “Russia is our friend,” local television footage shows. Spencer was not shown addressing that gathering, but he tweeted a photo of himself standing in the crowd carrying what appeared to be a bamboo tiki torch.

The evening protest was short-lived. About 10 minutes in, an altercation between Spencer’s group and counterprotesters drew police to the scene, and the crowd quickly dispersed, the Charlottesville Daily Progress reported…

Who Are the Sacklers? Meet the Reclusive Billionaire Family That Owns Perdue — The “Legal” Drug Cartel That Created the Deadly Opiate and Heroin Epidemic That is Plaguing the US

Purdue and three executives pleaded guilty in 2007 to federal charges of misbranding drugs and were ordered to pay $635 million. The Drug Enforcement Administration said in 2003 that the company’s “aggressive, excessive and inappropriate” marketing “very much exacerbated” abuse and criminal trafficking of OxyContin.

Purdue was a small New York City pharmaceutical firm when brothers Mortimer and Raymond Sackler, both psychiatrists, bought it in 1952. The spectacular success of OxyContin has generated nearly $35 billion in revenue over the last two decades and made the Sacklers one of the nation’s wealthiest families. Three generations of the family now help oversee Purdue and the Mundipharma associated foreign corporations.

Family members declined to be interviewed for this article, as did executives who run their international companies.

Call it whatever you like — “green” or alternate or renewable energy. Wherever governments interfere in power markets to reduce greenhouse emissions, the results are always higher taxes and skyrocketing power bills, with few environmental benefits.

The latest proof came Thursday when Ontario’s provincial Tories released secret documents showing that despite efforts by the governing Liberals to bring down Ontarians’ electricity bills this summer, Premier Kathleen Wynne and her cabinet already know that after next year’s election, power bills will have to go up — way up — until they almost double by 2028.

“Over 200,000 Infected”: Europol Fears Computers Simply Won’t Start Monday After “Unrivalled” Global Cyberattack

There was a silver lining in what has been dubbed the “world’s biggest ransomware attack” — it struck on Friday mid-afternoon (in Europe), just as businesses were winding down for the weekend, and as a result the full impact of the forced system shutdowns would not be fully felt over the weekend when businesses and infrastructure are generally operating at a subdued pace. However, with the weekend coming to a close, the full extent of the inflicted damage may become apparent in just a few hours.

That was the warning by Europol Executive Director Rob Wainwright who on ITV’s “Peston on Sunday” broadcast, said that additional disruptions are likely as people return to work Monday and turn on their desktop systems, and as a result the “unrivaled” global cyberattack is poised to continue claiming victims.

Pictured: Hungary’s New Electrified Border Wall, Watch Towers and Guards Outfitted With Machine Guns

The country of Hungary, 95% of whose citizens opposed European Union migrant quotas in a recent referendum, has reportedly electrified key portions of their border fence.

According to Index.hu, when approaching the border outside of authorized border crossings, those attempting to enter the country will be met with warning signs in Hungarian, Serbian and Arabic advising them that the fence has been electrified.

Kit Daniels reports:

It may not be a full fence shield, but there are fixed wires running parallel to the ground,” reported journalist András Földes. “The 12 wires mounted on insulated points are visible on both fences of the double fence, with insulated portions on the inside of the fences since it’s assumed they [the migrants] will only come from the outside if they come in.”

“…We also learned that a worker was shaken at the time of the installation and that he was hospitalized,” he added.

Though detractors of President Donald Trump’s border wall concept have been critical of the idea that a wall would actually stop illegal immigration through America’s porous southern border, the Hungarian wall has reportedly reduced illegal crossings into the country by a whopping 97%, with a significant change seen within the first 24 hours after it was installed.

The images below paint a very intimidating picture of what migrants attempting to cross the border will see.

Prosecutors in Sweden say the woman’s message violates the nation’s law on incitement to racial hatred (Hets mot folkgrupp, or HMF), a crime with carries a maximum penalty of four years.

The accused admitted that she wrote the post but denied committing any criminal act. The evidence against her consists of a screenshot from Facebook, according to local media.

People took to Flashback, the net’s largest Swedish language forum, to criticise the state’s decision to prosecute the pensioner, with one poster lamenting the accused “has fallen into the clutches of the politically correct”.

[Comment: Note how Swedish population is so thoroughly indoctrinated that they “police” their fellow citizens. This is a very bad sign. Brainwashed Swedish citizens are like the dodo bird that just sat calmly and watched fellow dodo birds getting killed.]

Modern “Diversity” Is a Big Fat Lie

What largely passes for education in our day, both in lower as well as higher education, in nothing less than pure indoctrination in political correctness.

One college professor, who is a self professed atheist, liberal, socialist sees the hypocrisy in this and has stated that “that elite private colleges are religious institutions… What does it mean to say that these institutions are religious schools? First, that they possess a dogma, unwritten but understood by all: a set of “correct” opinions and beliefs, or at best, a narrow range within which disagreement is permitted. There is a right way to think and a right way to talk, and also a right set of things to think and talk about. Secularism is taken for granted. Environmentalism is a sacred cause. Issues of identity-principally the holy trinity of race, gender, and sexuality-occupy the center of concern. The presiding presence is Michel Foucault, with his theories of power, discourse, and the social construction of the self, who plays the same role on the left as Marx once did. The fundamental questions that a college education ought to raise-questions of individual and collective virtue, of what it means to be a good person and a good community-are understood to have been settled. The assumption, on elite college campuses, is that we are already in full possession of the moral truth.

This is a religious attitude. It is certainly not a scholarly or intellectual attitude…I haven’t heard too many people talk about creating safe spaces for Christians, or preventing micro-aggressions against conservatives, or banning hate speech against athletes, or disinviting socialists. What I have heard, frequently, for as long as I have been involved in academia, are open expressions of contempt or prejudice or hostility against those suspect groups or members of those groups. If you are a white man, you are routinely regarded as guilty until proven innocent, the worst possible construction is put upon your words, and anything you say on a sensitive issue is received with suspicion at best…Progressive faculty and students at selective private colleges will often say that they want to dismantle the hierarchies of power that persist in society at large. Their actions often suggest that in fact they would like to invert them. All groups are equal, but some are more equal than others…Not coincidentally, lower-income whites belong disproportionately to precisely those groups whom it is acceptable and even desirable, in the religion of the colleges, to demonize: conservatives, Christians, people from red states…The test of your commitment to free speech as a general principle is whether you are willing to tolerate the speech of others, especially those with whom you most disagree. If you are using your speech to try to silence speech, you are not in favor of free speech. You are only in favor of yourself…True diversity means true disagreement…[he closes by asking what colleges what to be] Do they want to be socialization machines for the upper-middle class, ideological enforcers of progressive dogma? Or do they want to be educational institutions in the only sense that really matters: places of free, frank, and fearless inquiry?”[1]

  1. I don’t have much to say because I’m tired. I admire Spencer. I’ll be back tomorrow, but sometimes enough is enough. You know? I don’t want to go bed but I would like to read something that takes me away from this but crazy world.

    • Malcom X was rightly criticised for advocating a form of black separatism in the US, which was a multi-ethnic society long before “multi-culturalism” became a buzzword. How is Richard Spencer different?

If Islamism teaches us anything, it is that the people who won’t integrate who are the problem, and that this relates much more to culture and beliefs than “race”.

Having said which, and as a non-American, it seems to me that, leaving slavery aside, the Confederacy had the right to secede and was abominably treated after the Civil War, so Lee should be celebrated.

      • The obvious, to me at least, antidote to separatism of race is to instill one single identity among all races. But, when one considers carefully how that could possibly come about one then realizes that as we are all individual human beings with individual beliefs, yearnings, wants and needs, the only recourse to instilling a sense of identity is to enforce it via education and social norms.

But we once had that, ‘ordered society’ throughout the West, and even at that time there were still many problems between the various races, of course, things are now much worse.

From what I have learned of Malcolm X he wanted to start a race war – so good riddance to him and those who think like him.

  2. I wonder who will financially and covertly benefit after the ‘wakeup call’ from the Ransomware cyber attack?

  3. Richard Spencer was labelled a ‘white supremist’ on sbs news in Australia. The same news celebrated our first indigenous ice skater who was whiter than Richard Spencer. His indigenous mother was equally white and talked about hardships due to being indigenous. Her hardships sounded no different to any unfortunate underprivileged Australian from the 40s-50s. My father had no running water and a poor education but that doesn’t make me indigenous. my appearance, like hers, would not bring about prejudice.

    • It makes my blood boil to see people like that take up identity politics in order to gain financial incentives over other Australians.

If one is born in the country then one is indigenous to it, regardless of race color or creed, and it is that aspect to being Australian, a fair go for all, that is usually denigrated or omitted from conversations when discussing ‘aboriginality’.

Our first inhabitants have nothing in their history or civilization that could contribute significantly to Western civilization per se, although some aspects of how they managed to survive in a hostile environment could certainly teach as all something about persistence, yet we laud them as worthy of more laurels and free handouts than the white Australian who has had to earn everything.

      • This is so in every country I can think of now, it’s the age of the minority, their rights trump ours. Same in NZ where school exams were dumbed down so Maoris could pass more easily. Norwegians are upset because tourists are often told Samer (Sami) are the original inhabitants of Norway–they are not, Norwegians are. And here in the Pacific Northwest, Indians in Washington State did everything possible to hide the fact that archeologists found the remains of a taller, fair-haired people who pre-dated the local Indians by thousands of years.

The nonsense called ‘affirmative action’, thought up by some well meaning idiot, has caused all sorts of trouble and racial strife.

        • I thought it was Finland where the Sami are looked down on by Finns.

          You said:
The nonsense called ‘affirmative action’, thought up by some well-meaning idiot, has caused all sorts of trouble and racial strife.

There was nothing “well-meaning” about it. This was/is a divide and conquer tactic used to keep bureaucrats in power.

          • “Nothing well meaning about it…”
Well, you know me–just giving the benefit of any doubt!

Actually, I don’t know how the Finns get on with the Sami people, Norwegians get on just fine with them, but for that one thing. When the Samer (Nor.) originally came from the east, Norwegians had already been in Norway for thousands of years, but I’m pretty sure you knew that, and the fact there’s a certain amount of intermarriage. (e.g. my wife has a little ‘Lapp’ ancestry.)

  4. Re. the electrified fence etc., Hungary is a nation and chooses to remain so. All power to it! I am a thousand percent in favour of President Orban and what he’s doing.

  5. Atheists are pushing hard for communism since atheism is the communist state’s sanctioned religion.

Absurd cheap shot by another bigot blinded by religionism, the human intellectual equivalent of potato blight.

    • Well, the USSR commies did try to form a state church( religion) in Russia during WWII but it was by all accounts, a huge failure. The people were not fooled or placated. IT died a painful death .

When the USSR dashed itself to death onto the rocks of failure, the REAL RUSSIAN CHURCH soared to the top and acted as if it was never gone. And it really was never away but held in the hearts of many millions… secretly against the vicious actions of commie monsters.

I was listening to an interview of a Russian Orthodox priest who said who knew the FIRST man to Orbit the Earth was a Baptized Christian?? Who knew that many Russians held Christ in their hearts UNTIL after the mean USSR was no longer holding the reins of power.

This priest who wears his black clerical robes and cross in public always, has been threatened with slaughter( head chopped off) by an Islamic man RIGHT here in the USA in a parking lot and jeered by many young adults in public, who laugh at God and all who follow Him

It may be the USA will soon find its Christians under the thumb of some pretty vicious atheist oppressors in government and society . Try to walk with a sign that SAYS : “I LOVE YOU AND PRAY FOR YOU and JESUS SAVES” through UNIV OF CALF. BERKLEY or near the AUSTIN campus of the University of Texas.
