Gates of Vienna News Feed 5/13/2017

North Korea test-launched another ballistic missile today. It flew more than 400 miles before landing in the sea between the Korean peninsula and Japan. The Japanese government lodged a strong protest against the launch, which it said violated UN resolutions.

In other news, Facebook says it will appeal a decision by an Austrian court that ordered it to take down certain politically sensitive material not just in Austria, but all across the globe.

‘Accidental Hero’ Finds Kill Switch, Stops Ransomeware

(London Guardian) An “accidental hero” has halted the global spread of the WannaCry ransomware that has wreaked havoc on organizations including the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), FedEx and Telefonica.

Massive ransomware cyber-attack hits nearly 100 countries around the world

A cybersecurity researcher tweeting as @malwaretechblog, with the help of Darien Huss from security firm Proofpoint, found and implemented a “kill switch” in the malicious software that was based on a cyber-weapon stolen from the NSA.

The kill switch was hardcoded into the malware in case the creator wanted to stop it from spreading. This involved a very long nonsensical domain name that the malware makes a request to — just as if it was looking up any website — and if the request comes back and shows that the domain is live, the kill switch takes effect and the malware stops spreading.

Killing Paris Agreement is Not Enough

If President Donald Trump merely pulls the United States out of the Paris Agreement on climate change, it will be like cutting the head off a dandelion. It will look good for a while until equally bad agreements quickly grow back when a Democrat occupies the White House again. Trump needs to dig up the roots of Paris-the 1992 U.N. climate treaty-if he is to keep his campaign promise to “stop all payments of the United States tax dollars to UN global warming programs.”

Last Man Standing Falls to Trump Derangement Syndrome

By Daniel John Sobieski

The cancellation by ABC of Tim Allen’s hit comedy “Last Man Standing” comes on the heels of CBS’ Stephen Colbert’s obscenity-laced rant against Donald Trump and underscores how far the media thought police have gone in their war on conservatives, conservative thought, and even conservative comedy.

Allen’s show, in which he plays the manager of a sporting goods chain, features Allen’s biting and genuinely funny witticisms poking fun at all things liberal. Its humor is balanced, with the show featuring a Canadian liberal son-in-law who gets his points across. But it is a rarity among sitcoms, in that any conservative viewpoints are represented at all. In its sixth season, “Last Man Standing” is doing quite well in the ratings. As the entertainment website deadline.com noted:…

[Comment: Shoving the globalist agenda down the throats of the public is more important than profits. Allen’s show goes against the globalist agenda — it dilutes their globalist message…so they canned it. Rabid ideology takes precedence over profit. The trillionaires have enough money, now they seek total subjucation of the world population via a global tyrannical world order.]

Soros Partners With CAIR to Sabotage Sheriff Clarke

MILWAUKEE -How did this columnist wind up on CAIR’s mailing list? It was certainly not by request. Suddenly the Muslim’s news service propaganda began arriving in my inbox daily.

CAIR which is, the Council for American Islamic Relations, is a “civil rights” organization to protect Muslims from any backlash based on their lawlessness. That group, not surprisingly, have put Milwaukee County Sheriff David A.Clarke in their cross-hairs. They do not want any patriotic American in any visible position who might follow the law regarding border-jumpers who want to get into this country to cause mayhem.

CAIR is urging the Trump Administration NOT to appoint Sheriff Clarke to a post with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Here is what their May 1st daily newsletter said: Last year, Clarke supported then GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s call for law enforcement to “patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods.” CAIR expressed concern that “Such a policy would lead to religious and ethnic profiling by officers” and called the policy “unworkable, unconstitutional and counterproductive.”

As can be seen, any Muslim arrested while committing crime, rape and murder would be arrested due to religious and ethnic profiling, not for the commission of a crime. If a group is known for chaos, destruction, rape, robbery and murder, any analytical look at them would constitute, well, stereotyping. We can’t have that doncha know. As Adolf Hitler who coined the term said, “We must be politically correct.”

The Ivory Tower Man: Why Academia Hates Guns

By Salvatore DeGennaro

There is a particular strain of humanity now deeply rooted in Western culture that we can refer to as the Ivory Tower Man. This individual is the product of an entire cultural philosophy. He is the result of several generations that have faced no immediate danger or challenge to life itself; he is the spawn of the Nanny State. The Ivory Tower Man is found throughout all current age groups and academia is especially rife with this character.

The rise of this Ivory Tower Man can be attributed to the rapid urbanization of our society combined with an abundance of resources and technology that has made it possible for people to be soft. Wimps can now survive and thrive. Everyone gets a trophy. Our lifestyle is less strenuous than has been the experience for all past generations. And, above all, due to scientific advancements life is now more secure than it has ever been in human history. Sure, bad things happen to others, but the Ivory Tower Man does not personally see these things on a daily basis in his own nice neighborhood. He is insulated and thus willfully naive.

So what exactly is this Ivory Tower Man? Here is my best definition:…

Tillerson Signs Docs With Climate Change Statement, Insisting U.S. ‘Still Reviewing’ Policy

As a member of the Arctic Council, the United States has signed onto two agreements that include efforts to protect the Arctic from climate change, linking it to human activity and calling on global efforts to reduce its effects, including enforcement of the Paris Agreement.

“The Arctic Council, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, has proven to be an indispensable forum in which we can pursue cooperation,” Tillerson said in remarks to the council. “I want to affirm that the United States will continue to be an active member in this council.”

Two Deceased Students Named Prom King and Queen

Two deceased students were named the 2017 prom king and queen by fellow classmates at a school in Illinois, and school officials praised their thoughtful tribute.

At the prom for Bremen High School in Midlothian held on Friday night, Mark Gorman and Paola Zambrano, who both died in the past two years, were named prom king and queen.

Gorman was hit by a car and died in October 2016 and Zambrano died in 2015 from colon cancer, according to an NPR report published on Saturday morning.

Facebook to Appeal Global Hate Speech Order in Austria

Facebook says it will appeal a controversial court order that requires it to impose an Austrian law worldwide, which critics warn will pose new dangers to free speech on the Internet.

The court case involves comments posted to Facebook about the leader of Austria’s Green Party, which the party claims are illegal under the country’s hate speech laws. An appeals court in Vienna agreed and ordered Facebook to take them down not just in Austria but everywhere else as well.

France Loses Sovereignty and Liberty Again

The liberty and sovereign nation hating globalists got their way again. I am referring to France, where brainwashed voters chose to further their nation’s standing in the world. Sadly, because the people of France chose potential destruction over rebirth. Paris the city of lights will continues to lose that shimmering luster. The European Union will continue to force France to take in Muslim refugees. Of course, they are only on a worldwide mission to destroy western civilization and replace it with sharia law. Sharia law is designed to brutalize women and wipe out general societal norms and decency.

I must admit that while growing up here in America and having the opportunity to see Paris during my college years, no one could have convinced me to believe that the French would allow uncivilized Islamic refugees to destroy neighborhoods and the general quality of life in some neighborhoods. In the Bible it is written, “My people parish for lack of knowledge.” Right now, not only in Paris, but in France could conceivably parish due to a lack of wisdom and little confidence in their own society. History has proven that the lack of wisdom does bring about destruction. When one opens the door to destruction, it will waltz in and destroy you.

People can allow themselves to be or are forced to accept being brainwashed like American students in what used to be compulsory education but has evolved into forced indoctrination. The end result is a growing population of pop culture gumps who are convinced it is better to allow dangerous enemies into America than to protect our society from brutes who will rape your women for not wearing a head towel. Former president and always globalist Obama campaigned for fellow French globalist and extreme leftist, Emanuel Macron. Obama told the French people in a campaign video that “appeals to peoples hopes and not their fears,” offering a subtle shot at sovereignty protector LePen, who drew comparisons to President Trump.

The Globalist Empire Strikes Back in France

The progressive global elite is breathing a sigh of relief after “centrist” newcomer to electoral politics, Emmanuel Macron, defeated Marine Le Pen to become the next president of France. After the shocks of last year’s Brexit and the election of populist Donald Trump as president, the rejection of populist, nationalist, and anti-EU parties in Austria, the Netherlands, and now the second most important EU country suggests the tide has turned. But the Eurocrats and Europhiles shouldn’t start popping champagne corks yet. Like all of Europe, France’s problems run deep.

UK: Moped Gangs Ditch Helmets So Police Won’t Chase Them

Moped robbery gangs are throwing off their helmets to escape being chased by police.

Officers are following an ‘unwritten’ health and safety rule that means their career is at risk if they endanger the thugs by pursuing them.

Dozens of officers are already being investigated for their driving during chases.

As a result, Britain faces an epidemic of ‘pavement pirates’ who believe they are untouchable.

UK: May to Smash Maggie’s Record: Tories Predicted to Win 398 Seats in Huge Election Landslide

THERESA MAY is on course to break Margaret Thatcher’s 1983 record and win 398 seats at next month’s general election, giving her a thumping overall majority of 147.

Labour are predicted to win only 157 seats — the party’s worst result since the 1930s.

Bookies say a Labour victory is less likely than the England football team winning the next World Cup.

Bookmaker Sporting Index carried out a seat-by seat analysis for the Sunday Express which puts the Tories on course to win 241 more seats than Labour.

Egypt Uncovers Chamber of Mummies, Sees Life for Tourism

MINYA, Egypt (Reuters) — Egypt has unearthed an ancient burial site replete with at least 17 mummies, most fully intact, the latest in a string of discoveries that the country’s antiquities minister described as a helping hand from the crypt for its struggling tourism sector.

The funerary site, uncovered eight metres below ground in Minya, a province about 250 km (150 miles) south of Cairo, contained limestone and clay sarcophagi, animal coffins, and papyrus inscribed with Demotic script.

The burial chamber was first detected last year by a team of Cairo University students using radar.

The mummies have not yet been dated but are believed to date to Egypt’s Greco-Roman period, a roughly 600-year span that followed the country’s conquest by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, according to Mohamed Hamza, a Cairo University archaeology dean in charge of the excavations.

Egypt is hoping recent discoveries will brighten its image abroad and revive interest among travellers that once flocked to its iconic pharaonic temples and pyramids but which have shunned the country since its 2011 political uprising…

North Korea Test-Fires Ballistic Missile Into Sea of Japan

North Korea fired on Sunday a ballistic missile from a region near its west coast that flew 700 kilometers (430 miles), South Korea’s military said, days after a new leader took office in the South pledging to engage in dialogue with Pyongyang.

The missile was fired early on Sunday from a region named Kusong located northwest of Pyongyang, where the North previously test-launched an intermediate-range missile it is believed to be developing, the last time in February.

Japan said the missile flew for 30 minutes and dropped in the sea between the North’s east coast and Japan.

Sunday’s launch is the first in two weeks since the last attempt to fire a missile ended in a failure just minutes into flight.

Japan swiftly issued a protest. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said North Korea’s firing of a ballistic missile was a violation of U.N. resolutions and that Japan strongly protested the action. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe repeated the protest in comments to reporters.

“North Korea’s repeated missile launches are a grave threat to our country and a clear violation of UN resolutions,” Abe told reporters, adding Japan will stay in close touch with the United States and South Korea…

District Attorney Orders Prosecutors to Stop Charging Illegal Aliens

While President Donald Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly are attempting to bring some law and order to the nation’s out-of-control immigration system, a top Washington, D.C., watchdog has revealed additional Democratic Party officeholders who are working feverishly to set up roadblocks.

A New York district attorney for the city’s most populated county (borough) is allowing illegal aliens off-the-hook for non-violent crimes. That includes larcenies, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, harassment and other misdemeanors. Such a “dispensation” is only for those living in the U.S. illegally, meaning citizens and legal residents will face arrest and prosecution for these so-called minor charges.

According to investigators at the nonprofit, nonpartisan Judicial Watch, the top law enforcement official in New York City’s Kings County (Brooklyn) ordered his staff of prosecutors to stop charging illegal immigrants with minor crimes in order to protect them from being detained and deported by federal agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement directorate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“You can’t make this stuff up. Officials elected by law-abiding citizens to protect, defend, uphold and enforce criminal laws are bending the rules to protect those in the country illegally. This is a huge step beyond offering illegal aliens sanctuary and constitutes a violation of the oath these public officials have taken,” according to a report from Judicial Watch officials.

Second Round of Somalis Deported From U.S.

Immigration officials deported a second round of Somali illegal immigrants who had been living in the U.S. along with a few Kenyan foreign nationals.

Officials deported a total of 77 illegal immigrants to Somalia this month, according to a report by Midnimo Information Center. Of the 77 illegal immigrants, 72 were Somali foreign nationals, while five of the illegal immigrants were from Kenya.

An unnamed official told Midnimo the group of illegal immigrants were deported generally because of their immigration status.

“They were deported over immigration issues including lacking papers. We had been informed of their planned arrival,” the anonymous official said. “The Somalis will proceed to Mogadishu while Kenyans will be processed here accordingly.”

This is the second round of mostly Somali illegal immigrants who are being deported under President Trump’s administration and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The first round of deportations for Somalis included 90 illegal immigrant Somalis and two illegal immigrants from Kenya.

  1. On the latest North Korean missile test – Fat Boy is really pushing the provocation button with Japan, but for the Japanese government to lodge a complaint with the U.N. over such provocation goes to the very heart of how Fat Boy gets away with his provocative actions.

There is word around the internet that the North Koreans have taken to kidnapping Westerners from South Korea to use as human shield hostages – does anyone have any concrete evidence of that?

    • Yes when I was living in Japan from 1992 to 2004 several Japanese people were returned to Japan having been taken illegally by the North Koreans. Allegedly they were used as language teachers, this was done against their will. So there is a definite record of North Korea kidnapping people. This was heavily covered by the media in Japan. It is well documented.

    • Seems unlikely as any NK war will result in hundreds of thousands of deaths. Their greatest “hostage” is the massive defenseless City of Seoul.
Looks like SK’s newly elected president will fold, pay reparations and chase US systems from SK. Moon is giving Un the stars. Let’s save our 30,000 troops…bring them home, Mr. President!

  2. Facebook IS “1984”. Arrest Zuckerberg and imprison him for destroying Western civilization with such zest.

  3. Federica Mogherini, a second generation Italian commie, is promising world peace through her Marxist EU. She’ll say the trains will run on time, too!

    • … and they will, straight to the concentration (sorry, I mean “re-education”) kamps.

  4. I had to stop at some point above, so I have not read the usual dreadful news. I am dutiful about making the rounds to keep up-to-date, but today is Sunday and I don’t want to be upset.

There is no such thing as hate speech — there is only FREE SPEECH. I wish people could get that through their little heads, but they’ve been lobotimized by PC. It is truly pathetic. I am perfectly free to hate people if I want to (but I don’t want to, I’m just pointing out that as a free people we can hate, dislike, disapprove and so on. The other person This is a part of free speech and I don’t know why people can’t get it.)

In America, I am free to hate you if I wish to, although I don’t hate anyone. The point is that FREE SPEECH is one of the most important freedoms we have here. People who keep trying to curb free speech are truly despicable.

The other important freedom is that we can and do have guns, so we can potentially defend/protect ourselves. When danger strikes, the police are not going to be there fast enough. This has never happened to me, but I am aware that it could happen.
