‘Greece Crucified on the Cross of the Euro’ — UKIP MEP Scolds EU

THE EUROPEAN Union has been attacked for failing to tackle the Greek debt crisis and plunging the country into yet more financial ruin.

William Dartmouth, a Ukip MEP, launched the tirade at his European counterparts as they bid to refinance debt-ravaged Greece’s loans while keeping the nation locked in the eurozone.

Greece’s situation has reached boiling point after figures revealed its economy shrank another 0.4 per cent in the final quarter of last year.

The flopped economy has left Athen’s creditors, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European Commission (EC), at odds over measures to cure Greece’s devastated economy in the next stage of the country’s bailout.

Taking aim at the nation’s financiers in the European Parliament, Mr Dartmouth claimed his colleagues were heaping more misery on Greeks by keeping them trapped in the European Union’s single currency.

It’s the Economic Confidence Index, Stupid

In 1992, Democratic strategist James Carville devised the winning campaign slogan “It’s the economy, stupid” which effectively tapped into voter discontent about the overall health and direction of the economy at the time. Thirty-five years later and despite going about it in a totally different way, Donald Trump accomplished the very same thing, proving once again that history repeats itself.

While Hillary Clinton invested vast amounts of capital in predictive data analytics during the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump struck electoral gold by tapping into the deep-seated economic unrest on display in Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index. That simple strategy overwhelmed Clinton’s reams of complex quantitative analytics, leading to one of the greatest political upsets of the modern era. In chess parlance: Pawn takes Queen.

According to Fake News Purveyors, President Trump and Not Obama Divided America

The U.S. mainstream media lost all credibility when they climbed into the tank with the DNC- manufactured messiah Barack Hussein Obama eight long years ago , and their yapping and yelping about Donald J. Trump being the “bad guy” won’t bring it back.

For eight long years the mainstream media hurled sewage at the public from the Obama tank where they went to live.

Instead of taking on Obama’s destructive and unasked for Fundamental Transformation of America — or even questioning it — they went whole hog after the TEA Party and other American patriots.

Obama’s hateful smears of dissidents as “bigots”, “racists”, “homophobes”, “Islamophobes”, “bitter clingers” and Christians who wouldn’t come down from their high horses would not have stuck without the seal of propaganda passed to him by the mainstream media.

Few of the scribes and broadcast media showed any respect or dignity during the first President Trump ‘presser’ that followed the one where they yelped in outrage — all because the Christian News Wire and Town Hall got to ask the first questions.

Donald Trump only took questions from right-wing news outlets for a third press conference in a row.

Buchanan: The Deep State Targets Trump

“The deep state is deeply committed to Cold War II”

When Gen. Michael Flynn was forced to resign as national security adviser, Bill Kristol purred his satisfaction, “If it comes to it, prefer the deep state to the Trump state.”

To Kristol, the permanent regime, not the elected president and his government, is the real defender and rightful repository of our liberties.

Yet it was this regime, the deep state, that carried out what Eli Lake of Bloomberg calls “The Political Assassination of Michael Flynn.”

And what were Flynn’s offenses?

In December, when Barack Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats, Flynn spoke to the Russian ambassador. He apparently counseled the envoy not to overreact, saying a new team would be in place in a few weeks and would review U.S.-Russian relations.

“That’s neither illegal nor improper,” writes Lake.

Chicago Gang Members Say More Police Won’t Stop the Murders

Rashad Britt grew up in the Henry Horner projects on Chicago’s West Side, known for gangs and violence. He started hanging out with the members of the Vice Lords gang for safety. “Just for protection…my friends-we gotta get to school. So, we got each other’s back on the way to school,” he says. “And sometimes, that meant carrying a gun and [being] willing to use it.”

Donald Trump Bashes the BBC Again in Heated Back-and-Forth With BBC Reporter Jon Sopel

Donald Trump has had another swipe at the BBC in a heated back-and-forth during a White House press conference.

The President remarked, ‘Here’s another beauty’, after asking BBC North America editor Jon Sopel which organisation he was from.

Sopel responded by saying ‘It’s a good line’, before adding: ‘Impartial, free and fair’.

Facebook’s Zuckerberg Lobbies for New World Order

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder, wrote in a 5,800-word manifesto his personal vision of recreating the world in his image — an image that includes a true “global community that works for all of us,” he said, in an interview with the Associated Press.

The piece, entitled “Building Global Community,” comes as President Donald Trump’s “make America great again” mantra fueled him to the White House. It also comes on the heels of Brexit, another vote that seemed to underscore a backlash against elite governance and establishment political policies that place the world’s interest above those of a sovereign nation or individual.

Zuckerberg’s full letter was posted on Facebook.

It read, in part:…

His summary?

More of the same: More thinking of the global good; less thinking of the individual.

More ‘ new world order’type thinking; less sovereignty and independence.

[Comment: Another indication that face-”build-your-own-dossier”-book is an organ of the globalists.]

Fox News Star Erupts on Trump in ‘Fake News’ Rant

However, despite Smith’s claim that Trump’s campaign staff was on the phone with Russian intelligence “the same day” the hacks were happening, the leaked information from the FBI investigation shows no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

“Russia is fake news. Russia — this is fake news put out by the media,” Trump said when asked by reporters at the press conference about reported conversations between his campaign aides and Russian officials.

“No sir,” Smith continued to yell. “We are not fools for asking this question, and we demand to know the answer to this question. You owe this to the American people. Your supporters will support you either way. If your people were on the phone, what were they saying? We have a right to know, we absolutely do and that you call us fake news and put us down like children for asking these questions on behalf of the American people is inconsequential. The people deserve an answer to this question at very least.”

As Smith predicted during the segment, his rant sent Twitter into a frenzy, with Trump supporters calling for his head.

Lawmakers Probe US Funding for Soros Groups, Left-Wing Causes in Europe

George Soros’ alleged meddling in European politics has caught the attention of Congress.

Concerns about Soros’ involvement most recently were raised by the Hungarian prime minister, who last week lashed out at the Soros “empire” and accused it of deploying “tons of money and international heavy artillery.”

But days earlier, Republican lawmakers in Washington started asking questions about whether U.S. tax dollars also were being used to fund Soros projects in the small, conservative-led country of Macedonia.

Leaky John Brennan

Departing CIA director a radical left-wing activist

Out of hatred for McGovernite liberals, a Republican president in the 1970s broke the law. Now those aging radicals break the law out of hatred for a Republican president.

Nested within intelligence agencies, they have fed a series of criminal leaks to a press corps that functions like an anti-Trump dirty tricks operation.

Donald Trump has publicly speculated that former CIA director John Brennan is one of the criminal leakers. In January, he tweeted out, “Was this the leaker of Fake News?” Trump has now charged the Justice Department with investigating “low-life leakers” in the government.

Former CIA analyst Tony Shaffer also suspects Brennan as one of the leakers. He said on Fox Business Network that the leaks which forced Michael Flynn out can be laid “squarely at the feet of” Brennan, among other embittered Obama aides.

Recall the astounding admission Brennan once made at a “diversity” conference in 2016: that he thought he had “screwed” up his chances to enter the CIA after undergoing a polygraph test which smoked out his support for the American Communist Party during the Cold War. This sounds like a parody, but it isn’t. As he recounted:

This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate… I froze, because I was getting so close to coming into CIA and said, “OK, here’s the choice, John. You can deny that, and the machine is probably going to go, you know, wacko, or I can acknowledge it and see what happens.”… I said I was neither Democratic or Republican, but it was my way, as I was going to college, of signaling my unhappiness with the system, and the need for change. I said I’m not a member of the Communist Party, so the polygrapher looked at me and said, “OK,” and when I was finished with the polygraph and I left and said, “Well, I’m screwed.”

Unfortunately, he wasn’t. He entered the CIA, rose to its highest rank, and then salted the agency with fellow radicals, whose hatred for the “system” now takes the form of sabotaging the Trump administration.

Life’s Building Blocks Found on Dwarf Planet Ceres

The dwarf planet Ceres keeps looking better and better as a possible home for alien life.

NASA’s Dawn spacecraft has spotted organic molecules — the carbon-containing building blocks of life as we know it — on Ceres for the first time, a study published today (Feb. 16) in the journal Science reports.

And these organics appear to be native, likely forming on Ceres rather than arriving via asteroid or comet strikes, study team members said.

Obama’s Stasi Begins Soft Coup With Flynn’s Political Assassination

Flynn is the first casualty for the Trump administration

With leaks designed to destroy the credibility of key members of the Trump administration and the ultimate goal that Trump “will die in jail”, the “Deep State”, the rogue intelligence community, has seceded from the republic, declared civil war and asserted its sovereignty.

The CIA used to hide its assassinations and deny it overthrew foreign governments.

The NSA used to hide that it spied on Americans and the FBI denied it did searches without warrants.

Now they not openly admit they do these things, they use the laws designed to constrain them, like FISA, as tools of the police state.

As James Madison pointed out, “the means of defense against foreign danger historically have become instruments of tyranny at home.”

Even people on the left who intensely dislike Trump & Flynn have said Flynn’s political assassination sets a very dangerous precedent.

But some, like Glenn Greenwald, say very serious crimes were committed by the leakers, but he thinks the end justifies the means.

David Knight explains why this is fundamentally different and far, far more dangerous than whistleblowers exposing criminal actions.

Obama’s Disgraceful Departure

His actions were calculated to raise the potential for future protest against Trump’s policies. Otherwise, why didn’t President Obama act on these policies sooner?

These policies were deliberately designed to cause trouble for the incoming president.

“In his enviro-extremism, President Obama is attempting to tie President-elect Trump’s hands by blocking vast swaths of the Arctic Ocean and stretches of the Atlantic from oil and natural-gas drilling,” noted Andy McCarthy for PJ Media in December. “The gambit…is part of an eleventh-hour wave by which Obama is flooding the regulatory zone: Promulgating so many rules-of the unpopular, hard-left variety that Democrats dare not unveil before Election Days-that he hopes the Trump administration will find it too cumbersome to undo all of them.”

Obama likely didn’t try to prevent this type of drilling earlier because he knew that Democrats would have faced a referendum on his controversial policies when they ran for re-election. But when Obama became a lame duck, and the Democrats had already lost the House and Senate, there was little left to prevent him from taking extreme action.

“See, the anti-drilling edict was not issued as a rule,” wrote McCarthy. “Obama’s lawyers combed the statute books and found a stray sentence in the 1953 Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act…” By basing this new policy on a statute, Obama hoped that it will be more difficult for Trump to overturn.

After all, it could also become a public relations nightmare for Trump to be cast early in his first term as anti-wilderness and anti-environmentalist, promoting drilling in the pristine Arctic and Atlantic.

One of Trump’s campaign promises was to stop immigration from dangerous parts of the world. In advance of Trump’s reexamination of our immigration system, The New York Times reported that President Obama was “dismantling” a “dormant national registry program” which gave additional scrutiny to persons from countries with high levels of terror.

The Times admitted in December that this was an attempt by Obama and his cohorts to “prevent, or at least slow, what Democrats fear may be a swift rollback of President Obama’s efforts on immigration and climate change.”

Report: Muslim Sympathizers at CIA Behind Trump Leaks

Obama loyalists still at CIA fuel radical Islam

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It’s time to “drain the swamp” at the CIA, as former CIA Director John Brennan, a clear Muslim sympathizer, packed the agency with Obama loyalists determined to bring down the Trump administration.

Looking for anti-Trump leakers, President Trump needs to be as concerned about the CIA as the NSA.

Few remember that it was John Brennan’s private security company that was responsible for the breach of State Department files which sanitized the passport records (still never seen by the public) of presidential candidate and then-Sen. Barack Obama prior to the 2008 presidential election.

On March 21, two unnamed contract employees for the State Dept. and a third were disciplined for breaching Obama’s passport files. Two were found to be employees for Stanley, Inc., a security firm based in Arlington, Virginia, that was headed by former CIA agent John Brennan, who was then serving as an advisor on intelligence and foreign policy to Sen. Obama’s presidential campaign.

Brennan was an undergraduate at the American University in Cairo in the 1970s, where he studied Arabic. In 1976, he voted in the presidential election for Communist Party USA candidate Gus Hall. He speaks Arabic fluently, having served in the CIA as station chief in Saudi Arabia.

On Feb. 13, 2010, as President Obama’s chief counterterrorism advisor in the White House, Brennan hosted a public forum, co-hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Islamic Center at New York University, where he quoted a lengthy statement in Arabic which he didn’t translate for his English-speaking audience.

Previously, in a speech Brennan delivered on Aug. 9, 2009, to a conference sponsored by Center for Strategic and International Studies, Brennan attempted to legitimatize the term “jihad,” arguing it signified an internal moral struggle of peaceful introspection, and not the advocacy of violent Islamic terrorism.

At this conference Brennan also tried to argue that Hezbollah was no longer an Islamic terrorist organization, arguing instead that it had “evolved,” such that Hezbollah now has “members of parliament in the cabinet; there are lawyers, doctors, and others who are part of the Hezbollah organization.”

Roger Stone Slams Media on Today Show for ‘Recycling’ Russian Narrative

Trump insider denies contact with ‘the Russians,’ says FBI never even questioned him

“After that phone call there was no Russian retaliation for those sanctions. Does it smell bad to you?” Lauer questioned.

“Well not as bad as the fact that the same exact story that we have read ran almost word-for-word recycled in fact from January 20, the day Donald Trump was inaugurated — the same story with the same lack of proof.”

“Doesn’t this seem strange to you?” Hallie Jackson followed up.

“I think the Russians would like to have better relations with both Donald Trump and the US. We now understand Gen. Flynn committed no crime, but the exposure, the disclosure of the fact that he was monitored by the government, that is a crime.”

The “Permanent State” Has a Press Office

President Donald Trump’s controversial complaint that the intelligence community was using police-state tactics against him has been confirmed in the forced resignation of his national security adviser Michael T. Flynn. When Trump made his complaint, he was referring to leaks of potentially damaging information about him from an unverified dossier. In the Flynn case, several commentators have noted the use of surveillance techniques that are probably illegal…

Why was Flynn targeted? Lake writes that Flynn had “cultivated a reputation as a reformer and a fierce critic of the intelligence community leaders he once served with when he was the director the Defense Intelligence Agency under President Barack Obama. Flynn was working to reform the intelligence-industrial complex, something that threatened the bureaucratic prerogatives of his rivals.” Podhoretz says Flynn “had an antagonistic relationship with America’s intelligence agencies” and was their “potential adversary.”

That Flynn wanted to reform the intelligence community is true. But the more serious concern about Flynn from the perspective of the intelligence community is that he was opposed to the Obama policy, carried out by John Brennan’s CIA, of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic terrorists in the Middle East. He had been outspoken about this since leaving the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Flynn’s links to Russia and the conversations he had with the Russian Ambassador are minor compared to the disasters in the Middle East that Flynn was exposing. The proxy war the Obama administration waged in the Middle East produced debacles in Egypt, Libya and Syria. In Egypt, the military rescued the country from a Muslim Brotherhood takeover engineered by Obama’s CIA. Libya is still in shambles, and Syria has been lost to the Russians and Iranians. The result in Syria alone is 500,000 dead and millions of refugees.

As documented extensively by AIM’s Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, the U.S. under Obama switched sides in the war on terror, in favor of the terrorists. There were, of course, terrorists on the other side as well. In Syria, the Russian/Iranian/Syrian axis employed terrorist tactics to drive back the U.S.-supported terrorists. That produced a humanitarian disaster that is still unfolding.

Trump Returns to His Roots With Rousing Campaign-Style Speech on Jobs

After a week of administration ups and downs, President Donald Trump found his stride on Friday afternoon before a raucous crowd gathered in a hangar of Boeing’s company facility in North Charleston, South Carolina.

“We are here to celebrate American engineering. We are also here to celebrate jobs, jobs,” roared Trump to the thousands of Boeing workers assembled for the rollout of the company’s new 787-10 Dreamliner passenger aircraft.

Just a day after a press conference that rocketed from one issue to another, President Trump sounded more like Candidate Trump, repeatedly hitting on the theme that helped win him the White House: jobs.

“We want products made by our workers in our factories stamped with those four magnificent words — made in the USA,” Trump said.

US Mosque Holds Memorial for Islamist Assassin

A Maryland-based mosque held a memorial celebration Sunday for an Islamist assassin who was convicted of murdering a Pakistani governor for criticizing the country’s blasphemy laws.

The Gulzar E Madina mosque hosted an “Urs” for convicted murderer Mumtaz Qadri, reported Ehsan Rehan of the Rabwah Times, a Pakistan-based news agency. Urs is a traditional death anniversary usually reserved for Sufi saints celebrated by Muslims in South Asia.

A Pakistani high court charged Qadri with murder after he killed Salman Taseer, the former governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province. Qadri, who was part of Taseer’s bodyguard, shot him 27 times with an AK-47 assault rifle in the middle of a market in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. Qadri surrendered to police immediately, Taseer died of his wounds.

US Security Contractor Warns: Muslims Will Kill Americans & Are Very Good Manipulators

Retired Marine Steve Gern now working as a private security contractor talks about the video he made where he warns the US about the reaction local Iraqis had after President Trump signed his executive order banning travel from countries like Iraq.

The Marine is describing ordinary Muslims with no declared terror ties wanting to kill Americans.

One of the most profoundly truthful statements originating from Gern’s observations of Muslim psychology is, “What I have learned over the years of working with them is that they are very good at manipulation. They can manipulate just about anyone. They will tell you what they want you to hear and they can keep that up for many, many years”. That is EXACTLY the core Muslim quality. And they use it constantly. The protests and problems we see stirring up across the US absolutely has a Muslim hand behind it. The more reason to keep them out and to deport them.

What Does Media Pull From Trump Presser? Racist for Asking Black Reporter if CBC Are Her Friend

Repeating the very idiocy he had just warned them is killing their credibility

Now what you heard about it was probably that Trump was “ranting against the media” or something like that, which is why you have to watch it. Trump is continuing to own the media, and they are continuing to have no idea what’s happening to them.

The presser essentially breaks down into two parts. First, Trump spends about 35 minutes updating the nation — essentially talking over the media’s heads — about the actual work of governance he’s been doing. He talked about tax reform. He talked about replacing ObamaCare. He talked about pipeline construction. He talked about border security. He talked about counterterrorism. He talked about rolling back regulations. He talked about changes in trade policy. He talked about the status of his cabinet nominees.

These are all things people need and want to know about. These are the things Trump was elected to do. These are the things that actually matter to the public. They are also things you probably didn’t even know about unless you watched the presser, because the media don’t pay much attention to any of them. Oh sure, you can find some stories if you look hard enough. But if you scan the headlines, you don’t see these stories at all. So before Trump took a single question, much to the media’s irritation, he gave detailed updates on all of this.

Then came the part that got attention, the part the media covered . . . because it was all about them.

First of all, given the chance to ask Trump questions about the governing substance he had just spent 35 minutes talking about, they ignored all that completely. For what? You guessed it: Russia!

I don’t know how many different ways you can ask a guy if his campaign coordinated with the Russian government, but these people found every conceivable way to ask that question again, and again, and again . . .

Europe’s Mars Mission is About to ‘Surf’ The Red Planet’s Atmosphere

The ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) is about to go surfing — at the Red Planet.

Through 13 months of delicate maneuvers, the spacecraft will carefully skim above Mars’ atmosphere to refine its orbit. Once that’s finished in 2018, TGO will be all set to do science at Mars — and also ready to communicate with robots on the surface, such as the upcoming ExoMars rover.

The mission of TGO is to better understand the quantities of rare gases in the Martian atmosphere. It’s well known that carbon dioxide is the main component (making up 95 percent of the atmosphere), but there are lesser yet still important gases that together make up less than 1 percent of the atmosphere’s volume. These gases include methane, water vapor, nitrogen dioxide and acetylene, according to the European Space Agency, which runs the ExoMars program.

Swedish people are beginning to get desperate amid all the rape and terrorism (see SWEDEN: Young Muslim Gangs Terrorize Women at Train Station. Authorities Powerless…). Can you blame them? Negative. For years now, Swedes have been forced to live in proximity with C-4 strapped grumkins. With little to defend themselves beyond leftist tolerance. Tis an obvious problem to humans with basic motor functions.

But apparently now that citizens have started turning to bulletproof vests for self defense, parliament members are having none of it…

Paleolithic Pebbles Used in Death Rituals Uncovered

Beach pebbles were “killed” 12,000 years ago in death rituals that involved using the stones as spatulas to paint the bodies of the dead, according to excavations in a cave in northern Italy.

The pebbles were uncovered in the Caverna delle Arene Candide, a cave on a steep cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Liguria.

According to a study published in the Cambridge Archaeological Journal, Paleolithic people living in the area collected oblong pebbles from a nearby beach, used them in the cave to apply ochre onto deceased individuals, and then intentionally broke them.

Pope Francis: ‘Muslim Terrorism Does Not Exist’

In an impassioned address Friday, Pope Francis denied the existence of Islamic terrorism, while simultaneously asserting that “the ecological crisis is real.”

“Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist,” Francis said in his speech to a world meeting of populist movements.

What he apparently meant is that not all Christians are terrorists and not all Muslims are terrorists—a fact evident to all—yet his words also seemed to suggest that no specifically Islamic form of terrorism exists in the world, an assertion that stands in stark contradiction to established fact.

Bosnia to Challenge Ruling Clearing Serbia of Genocide

Bosnia will next week ask the UN’s top court to review its ruling which cleared Serbia of genocide in the 1990s, Bosnia’s Muslim leader has said.

Bakir Izetbegovic, a member of Bosnia’s tripartite presidency, said the appeal would be launched before a 10-year deadline expired on 26 February.

Bosnian Serb officials warned the move would trigger a new political crisis.

In 2007, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) cleared Serbia of direct responsibility for genocide.

Kosovo Marks Birthday Amid Isolation and Nationalism

This Friday, on 17 February, Kosovo leaders will raise a glass to celebrate their achievements from nine years of independence, but many will not be there to cheer with them.

While in many areas Kosovo’s statehood has been strengthened, little has changed in the lives of ordinary people. After nine years of independence Kosovars are still locked in isolation and poverty. They still find themselves unemployed, without health care, a working education system or any hope to find a job, while those who do work hardly make ends meet.

Caroline Glick: The Trump-Netanyahu Alliance

When they met on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin were both walking wounded.

Netanyahu arrived in Washington the center of a criminal investigation the chief characteristic of which is that selected details of the probe are regularly leaked to the media by anonymous sources who cannot be challenged or held to account.

These anonymous sources, from inside the police and state prosecution, use hand-picked reporters who all share a visceral hatred of Netanyahu, to present a version of the probe to the public that besmirches Netanyahu and his family.

The prospect that Netanyahu may face indictment weakens his position in his party. Likud ministers, unsure of the future, but certain that they cannot challenge the credibility of unnamed sources without risking their own reputations and political futures, refuse to stand with Netanyahu and defend him. And so, with each additional anonymously sourced, incriminating story, the prime minister finds his political power diminished.

As for Trump, he met with Netanyahu two days after his loyal national security adviser, Lt.-Gen. (ret.) Michael Flynn, was forced to resign.

Flynn’s resignation was the culmination of a continuous campaign of defamation waged against him that began even before Trump was elected…

ISIS is Going Broke

The Islamic State group is hemorrhaging money with every piece of territory it loses, according to a new analysis that found that the group’s “business model” is on the path to failure.

The analysis released Saturday by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence and the accounting firm EY found that the self-proclaimed caliphate’s financial resources have been drained substantially since the days beginning in mid-2014 when it captured banks, oil wells and entire warehouses of weapons as it amassed land.

The report found that Islamic State revenue has declined from up to $1.9 billion in 2014 to at most $870 million in 2016.

Entire German 2016 Budget Surplus Earmarked for Migrants

The German government will allocate the entire six billion euro 2016 budget surplus to migrants after the two coalition parties failed to agree on how to spend it.

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party proposed using the €6.2 billion surplus to pay off debts, while the Social Democrats (SPD) wanted to spend it on digital infrastructure projects. As a compromise the money has gone solely to migrant projects instead, Der Spiegel reports.

The present funds allocated toward migrant programmes is already €12 billion, which is thought to be more than enough to handle the needs of the over one million migrants in Germany. The budget surplus would take the money up to over 18 billion — far more than required.

Fury as Italian Earthquake Zones Ordered to Re-House Migrant Families

ITALIANS left homeless by catastrophic earthquakes in 2012 have now been left furious after being told new homes were to be found for 200 migrants.

More than 12,000 displaced people are still waiting to be re-housed after the deadly quakes in the northern Emilia-Romagna region almost five years ago.

Towns that were badly damaged in the 6.1 and 5.8 magnitude quakes resemble building sites and local authorities admit reconstruction is a long way from being completed.

Many of those made homeless in the disaster are still living in emergency makeshift accommodation while others remain in the houses of friends, relatives and parents.

And they were outraged when the area was taken out of special measures on January 1, paving the way for the first wave of migrants to be relocated there.

Don’t Mess With Texas, The Governor Warns the NFL as the State Considers a Bathroom Bill

“The NFL is walking on thin ice right here,” Abbott said on Glenn Beck’s radio show Tuesday. “The NFL needs to concentrate on playing football and get the heck out of politics.”

           — Hat tip: JD [Return to headlines]

Freedom or Football?

So Texas is “targeting” (very objective reporting!) transgender people by suggesting that only biological females should use bathrooms designed for biological females. Why is this controversial? Because it is “inconsistent with [the NFL’s] values.” Really? And when was this great table of NFL values etched in stone? Would the NFL have taken up this issue as a matter of principle at any time prior to, say, five years ago? A decade or two ago, the idea of the NFL as a public defender of transgenderism — insofar as anyone would have known what that was — would have been the premise of a comedy sketch. Furthermore, no mainstream comedy troupe would have hesitated to perform that sketch, whereas today, of course, the concept would violate “SNL values,” or whatever.

That is to say, the NFL itself, if looked at over a ten-year period, is inconsistent with “NFL values.” These supposed values, in other words, are no deeply held moral position; they are nothing but another corporate entity’s kowtowing obeisance to the radical progressive zeitgeist. Transgenderism in general, and transgender bathroom access in particular, are (ersatz) issues that were on almost no American’s radar just a few years ago, but which are now suddenly, supposedly, so clear cut and unambiguous that anyone who has not immediately embraced the one and only correct side of the issue deserves public shaming, boycotting, punishment…

Yes, that’s right, football — the domain of manly violence, steroid-enraged tough guys, O.J. Simpson, and the most gruesomely infamous case of sports-related serial pedophilia in our time — has taken to dictating sexual ethics to the citizens of America. Do the sport’s kingpins suspect they have a few more skeletons in their closet, and hope to get ahead of the curve by normalizing men invading girls’ bathrooms before it becomes another awkward scandal for them?

In any case, my real question about all of this holier than thou humanism from the NFL is this: How many Americans are prepared to give up watching football in order to take a stand against corporate bullying?…

The NFL is using its presumed social indispensability as leverage to twist the arm of a state’s politicians to comply with its “values,” i.e., with the politically correct agenda to which the league has sold itself, probably in exchange for being left alone by the progressive establishment that has long demonized football for its “war-like” nature. The surest way to shut them up is to shut them down — turn off the TV, stop buying tickets, tell them where they can stick their Super Bowl.

The Left Silences Debate

This week the nation’s top debate coaches released their recognition of the top collegiate policy debate teams. This exceptional group of sixteen teams receives pre-bids to the National Debate Tournament at the end of March and will have strong potential toward winning the national title in debate at the tournament to be held at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Two of the nation’s top teams that made this elite selection are from Berkeley, a campus recently racked by violent demands for the suppression of free speech. Incredibly, Berkeley’s teams and one other team from California who made the cut, will not attend the National Debate Tournament. That is because the state of California has banned all university related personnel from traveling to four states around the nation: Kansas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi, on the specious grounds that these states have all passed “anti-LGBT legislation.” All debate teams from California state schools are practically banned from attending the national debate tournaments being held in the state of Kansas in March.

As California continues upon a path of ideological ricochet that in many quarters seeks complete separation from the nation, the prospects for freedom of speech have declined to incomprehensible limits. America’s college campuses — especially those in California — are not simply victims of this trend, they are also important agitators for this breach of our most important civil rights. The free speech movement that began at Berkeley has come full circle. Violence against free speech is now argued by the university to be a moral end. Ironically, it was 50 years ago, that a great debater spoke on that campus urging for greater free speech in order to overcome the nation’s scourge of racism. James Farmer Jr. was a prelude to the free speech movement of 1964.

16 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/17/2017

  1. “Previously, in a speech Brennan delivered on Aug. 9, 2009, to a conference sponsored by Center for Strategic and International Studies, Brennan attempted to legitimatize the term “jihad,” arguing it signified an internal moral struggle of peaceful introspection, and not the advocacy of violent Islamic terrorism.”

Brennan and James Clapper of NSA, two players who may have had a hand in Gen Flynn’s demise.

But I’m rather interested in the statement made by Father Daniel of Syria, quoted in Gof V recently. He said a certain Syrian town was flooded by foreign Jihadists, aligned to al-Q and funded and armed by Western foreign governments and Sunni countries. Supposedly these foreigners were part of the “moderate opposition” to Assad. I wonder if we will ever know if the Brennan led CIA supplied this group with weapons and training? Did they have an neat little Iran/Contra thing going, soaking up weaponry from Libya and flicking into the Syrian civil war? Possible, as Brennan has appalling judgement (which could be willful ignorance or deception) as to the aims and goals of jihadists.

    • I believe anyone who has made a note of Brennan and Clapper’s behaviour, particularly over the last four years, would recognize they have not displayed what was expected of them by the law abiding from holders of such positions.

Brennan has a history of promoting Islam which has led many to believe that he is an Islamic convert. He is reputed, when acting as CIA station chief in a middle eastern Islamic country, to have countermanded an order to not issue visas to some of the 9/11 hijackers.

Clapper has overseen some of the most tyrannical NSA power grabbing against individual liberty on record that has effectively turned the United States into one giant surveillance state, under ‘national security’ concerns of course!

So, your last paragraph holds no surprises for me.

        • I remember reading several times that Brennan was supposed to have converted to islam while in the M.E.?

          • He was station chief in Riyadh. Intelligence insiders say that conversion to Islam is a prerequisite for that job. I don’t know that it’s true, but that’s what I’ve heard.

  2. Of course the NFL supports transgenders. It’s an easy way to virtue signal and make themselves look good without costing themselves anything. After all, it’s not men who are being attacked by transgenders in bathrooms. This whole bathroom “debate” is so twisted.

If any readers live in the US, please contact your state legislature about enacting a bathroom bill or support the ones which have already been proposed. In Washington state, a group called Just Want Privacy will soon be collecting signatures on a petition to introduce a ballot initiative (Initiative 1552) to protect sex segregated spaces. You will be able to sign at various local churches and other places throughout the city, so keep your eyes open for that!

If you live in a state without a bathroom bill and none in the pipeline, consider helping organize a similar ballot initiative. If our elected officials won’t protect us, we’ll have to go around them!

    • Of course, if the NFL really supports transgenders, why aren’t they employed as Cheerleaders?

  3. The NFL, NBA and NCAA all need to be boycotted. They’ve become our enemies, destroying our Western culture.

  4. «…In other news, Pope Francis said in a speech that Muslim terrorism does not exist…»
He’s right! Muslims terrorism doesn’t exist, just Islam’ s followers. And to be a good Mohamedan you have to terrorize everyone else -it has been ever since Mohamed dictated his secretary the Koran
