ECB Says Paschi Needs $9.2 Billion, More Than Bank’s Plan

The European Central Bank said Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA needs about 8.8 billion euros ($9.2 billion) to bolster its balance sheet, almost twice the amount the Italian lender had sought to raise in a failed capital increase.

A Journalist’s Manual: Field Guide to Useful Infidels

Americans have lived with the threat of attack by jihadi groups for nearly four decades. Despite this clear and present danger, some non-Muslim commentators, politicians, and other public figures challenge the idea that Islamism, a radical political ideology with ambitions of global conquest, has anything to do with this violence. We call such persons useful infidels (a variation on “useful idiots,” a term widely attributed to Lenin).

Useful infidels employ various methods. Some seek to redefine the threat by arguing that ISIS killers should not be described as Muslim terrorists out of fear that doing so would provide “the type of Islamic legitimacy that they are so desperately seeking, but which they don’t deserve at all.” Others seek to distract from the Islamist threat by claiming there is a deluge of anti-Muslim hate crimes or non-Muslim threats of violence where few exist.

Some cooperate with Islamist groups, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Others focus on depriving law enforcement of the necessary training and resources to recognize and counter Islamist threats. Or they legitimize Islamists as the only representative and acceptable face of American Islam, to the detriment of moderate Muslims, who are ignored and powerless…

The profiles that follow illustrate how individuals across a wide range of fields advance Islamist ideas. They were chosen for their prominence and the damage they have inflicted. This is by no means a complete list and will be updated and expanded in the future.

Backfire: Obama’s Israel Slap Could Prompt U.S. To Leave U.N.

‘We need to ditch this organization run by crazies.’

Republicans look increasingly determined to now use that advice against Obama.

The president’s refusal to veto a United Nations resolution condemning Israeli settlements, documented in detail by WND on Friday, is now causing such a backlash, the move could stunningly backfire on the outgoing commander in chief.

Following Friday’s vote, there were immediate calls for the U.S. to defund the organization. By Monday, there was a rising tide of calls to use the vote as a reason for the U.S. to leave the U.N. altogether.

“We need to ditch this organization run by crazies and create one run by free nations,” former Rep. Steve Stockman told WND.

Caroline Glick: Obama’s War Against America

In 1989, following her tenure as President Ronald Reagan’s ambassador to the UN Jeane Kirkpatrick described how the Palestinians have used the UN to destroy Israel.

Following outgoing US President Barack Obama’s assault on Israel at the UN Security Council last Friday, longtime UN observer Claudia Rossett wrote an important article at PJMedia where she recalled Kirkpatrick’s words.

In “How the PLO was legitimized,” published in Commentary, Kirkpatrick said that Yassir Arafat and the PLO worked “to come to power through international diplomacy — reinforced by murder.”

Kirkpatrick explained, “The long march through the UN has produced many benefits for the PLO. It has created a people where there was none; a claim where there was none. Now the PLO is seeking to create a state where there already is one. That will take more than resolutions and more than an ‘international peace conference.’ But having succeeded so well over the years in its campaign to delegitimize Israel, the PLO might yet also succeed in bringing the campaign to a triumphant conclusion, with consequences for the Jewish state that would be nothing short of catastrophic.”

As Rossett noted, in falsely arguing that Obama’s support for Friday’s UN Security Council Resolution 2334 is in line with Reagan’s policies, Obama’s UN ambassador Samantha Power deliberately distorted the historical record of US policy towards Israel and the PLO-led UN onslaught against the Jewish state.

In stark contrast to Power’s self-serving lie, neither Reagan nor George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton nor George W. Bush would have ever countenanced a resolution like 2334.

Obama’s predecessors’ opposition to the war against Israel at the UN was not merely an expression of their support for Israel. They acted also out of a fealty to US power, which directly targeted by that war.

It is critical that we understand how this is the case, and why the implications of Resolution 2334 are disastrous to the US itself…

Chicago Crime Wave: More People Killed on Christmas Than Past Three Christmases Combined

A total of 61 people were shot in Chicago over the Christmas holiday weekend, with 11 of them dying from their wounds. Seven were murdered on Christmas Day alone, more than the last three Christmases combined.

This brings the grisly total to more than 4,252 people shot so far this year in Chicago, 770 of them fatally. Last year by comparison there were 2,989 people shot with 492 of them succumbing to their wounds. That’s an astonishing 56 percent increase in homicides in one year — and the year is not quite over yet.

Mom Walks 30 Hours Through Snow, Wilderness to Get Help for Family

FREDONIA , AZ — Stranded on a secluded road with heavy snow falling, one Pennsylvania mom knew she had to do something. So, she walked for 30 hours in the wilderness, through 26 freezing miles, subsisting on twigs and her urine, to get help.

This is her story.

An unexpected turn of events

Karen Klein, 46, was headed to the Grand Canyon National Park with her husband Eric and their 10-year-old son. Arizona State Route 67, which leads to the canyon’s north rim, is closed for the winter and their car’s GPS detoured them through forest service roads.

Two things happened: Snow covered the road, and when the family tried to turn around, their car fell into a ditch.

There were no signs of civilization around them and snow was falling hard.

Klein was a triathlete who had taken wilderness survival classes. So, she said goodbye to her husband and son and, armed with some water and a few snacks, she set off.

She thought the nearest major highway was only a short trek away. She didn’t know the road had been closed for winter. So, she decided to walk on — toward the park entrance…

‘Step Up’ Actress, 46, Who Vanished on Her Way to Christmas Day Dinner in Washington DC is Found Dead in Her Car One Day After a Mystery Man ‘Was Spotted Driving it’

Tricia McCauley’s body was found inside her missing white Scion one day after police released a photograph of a man who may have been driving it. A suspect has been taken into custody.

Although the cause of death has not yet been released, police said there are signs of trauma on 46-year-old McCauley’s body. It doesn’t appear that the suspect and McCauley knew each other, police said.

McCauley had been a stand-in for Jenna Dewan in ‘Step Up’, a 2006 dance movie which also starred Channing Tatum. She was also a nutritionist and health coach and had been an active member of DC’s theater scene.

Tricia McCauley, 46, never showed up for Christmas dinner in Northwest DC on Sunday. She has now been found dead, police confirmed on Tuesday morning

McCauley had been due at a friend’s in the Northwest district of Washington DC on Sunday but never arrived. She also missed a flight out of Ronald Reagan National Airport the following morning.

Her last known contact was on Sunday at 4:30pm. McCauley’s white Scion IQ car went missing and police appealed for the public’s help to trace the vehicle…

Italy’s Labour Minister Comes Under Fire for Offensive Statements About Young Italians Seeking Jobs Abroad

nadia ferrigo (translation by merope ippiotis)At the start of the week, Italy’s Labour Minister, Giuliano Poletti, answered some questions put to him by journalists regarding recent figures, which show that more than 100,000 Italians left the country in 2015. “Way to go! I know people who have left and they’re fine just where they are because this country will certainly not suffer having them out of the way,” the minister stated. “The kind of mentality that sees those who leave as always being the best has to change,” he added, “100,000 have left but 60 million are still here: it’s as if to say that the 100,000 who have gone are competent and intelligent while the rest who have stayed behind are all blockheads.”

Poletti apologised for his comment just a few hours later and in a statement published by ANSA, he added: “I simply think that it is not right to say that it’s the best who leave our country and that all the others who stay have fewer skills and qualities than the others.”

But the minister’s apology failed to quell controversy: a no-confidence motion was signed by senators of the Italian Left, the Five Star Movement, the Northern league and some other senators from the Mixed Group. “In the past few weeks,” the motion reads, “the Minister has behaved in a way that is totally inadequate for someone of his position and has, on more than one occasion, used controversial language and expressed opinions that are utterly unacceptable”. Minister Poletti, who issued yet another apology via video, has nevertheless said that he does not intend to resign…

New Berlin Crime Adds Fuel to German Debate Over Surveillance and Immigration

BERLIN—A week after a deadly terror attack at a Christmas market, another crime in the German capital is feeding a debate over how the country balances security and civil liberties.

Early Christmas morning, police said, a group of young people tried to set fire to a sleeping homeless man in a Berlin subway station. Passersby extinguished the flames before the man was hurt.

By Tuesday, the suspects in the case had been detained. They were asylum seekers—six from Syria and one from Libya, according to police. Authorities said all seven either turned themselves in or were taken into custody after the publication of security-camera images.

Surveillance video remains a rarity in Germany, where past experiences with dictatorships, both Nazi and Communist, have sown a deep suspicion of government police powers and any state intrusions into people’s privacy.

  1. The U.S. is not going to leave the U.N.

U.N. Headquarters are in New York and Mrs. F. D. Roosevelt was a chief promoter.

And, it’s not possible for the European Union to approximate a European United States for historic reasons. U. S. States are individual but they aren’t tribal.

    • Whether they leave or not will be up to the coming administration. Mrs. Roosevelt isn’t llkely to rise out of grave to offer support to the kleptocrats who’ve taken over. At the very least, the American Congress may well reduce the monetary support for these useless space-wasters.

It mostly depends on Donald Trump and whether or not he wants to boot them out. If he wins a second term, getting rid of the UN may be a plank in the GOP platform…it’s just hard to say how far the world-wide resurgence of nationalism will go.

  2. “According to the Brussels police, six terror attacks have been thwarted in the last two years alone.”

I always have mixed feelings about any news, when a terrorist attack is stopped. I feel kinda guilty about it. Of course nobody would want a horrific attack to happen, but in the meantime all the impacted countries are under stealth jihad, (hijra) migration and demographic takeover by muslims. In that sense the terror attacks are taking on the role of a symptom of the disease and the police by stopping them hiding the symptom condemning the host body to die in the long run.

  3. I very much doubt Trump will let this pass. He lives for doing push back on stuff like this. He’ll start Yuge and then scale it back.

    1) He’ll propose the US sue the UN for tens of billions for overpaying on its UN ‘fees’. It doesn’t matter if it sticks, the point is to throw a wrench in the works at the UN.

    2) He could immediately suspend ALL jizya payments to the UN until the lawsuit is resolved. That’s 25% or more of the UN’s budget, gone.

    3) Call a national referendum for a UNexit, to be held in 2018. The point again is just to freeze out the UN and cast it into total chaos.

    4) Gather a Coalition of like-minded states who’d love to leave the UN, and form a capitalist first world alternative to the venal UN.

    5) Send in the US military to help Israel settle & build on MORE land, faster, & help as well to put up a wall.

    6) He may look into criminal charges against Obama for sedition and acting against an ally’s interests. Little Barry has broken the law literally dozens of times & should finally be held accountable.

    7) Also look into launching a lawsuit against Obama. Sue him on behalf of the American people, and also on behalf of the Israelis. Sue him for the harm he’s done to Israel with the material help he’s given to the world’s leading state sponsor of terror, Iran.

Trump can set up a war room to just launch all this while he’s building the wall & ramping up the economy etc etc.

    • From your keyboard to The Donald’s eyes, Mr. Carter.

Brilliant! It would immediately engage the nationalists against the globalists (the sheep vs. the goats, though I’ve never understood that expression). I cannot think of a more unworthy organization than the UN.

I doubt he could sue the UN, though. What court would have standing to hear it? I’m sure the constitution of this deplorable organization has some provision which would prevent it. But that’s okay – just getting the UN off of American soil would be worth it. Heck, I’m sure there are millions of people who’d help them with the yard sale, and hundreds of wrecking companies who’d be glad to assist in bringing down the place.

Imagine the “NO MORE UN!” parties there would be – not only here, but all over the world.
Imagine the money to be made in selling “NO MORE UN!” bumper stickers.
      Iamgine the liberals screaming…

    • It is a difficult one, 10 lines is too much and 10 pages too little

In 1967 Jordan, who had illegally occupied Judea and Samaria in 1948, invaded Israel and lost. and for the first time all of Jerusalem was in sraeli hands.

The intenational law that applies is the mandate for Palestine which passed into UN law. But when does law matter to the elites?

Because Israel was a victim of aggression, it is entitle to soverignty over the captured territory in the same way that following WW2 the USSR took Konigsberg and renamed it Kaliningrad.

The UN has bowed to its muslim rump, presumably obeying the orders of its NWO masters to so do.

This is nothing new to Israelis, there is nothing we can really do about it, we will fight for Jerusalem, and we can do a lot more damage to Abbas than he can do to us. The guy is a moron who cannot see the writing on the wall.

      mene mene tikl upharsim.

      • “But when does law matter to the elites?”
Indeed. But why should “International Law” matter to citizens either? The citizens do not vote for the people who make “International Law” and they cannot remove them. The citizens of the US used to understand “No taxation without representation”, but somehow submit to the UN control freaks without nary a thought.

The thing to understand is that “International Law” is a confidence trick used by the powerful to convince people to do their bidding. It is not democratic, it is not justice, it is not even unanimously agreed. “International Law” is only a framework for people to *consensual* agreement to do something, it has no legitimacy for enforcement via compulsion.

As long as Israel plays the ‘legal game’ it will lose in the end – because there are 57 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (and many sympathizers, such as much of Leftist Europe) and only one Israel.

Mao had it right, “Power comes through the barrel of a gun”. “International Law” is a fiction which means nothing if not backed up through the credible threat of force and the willingness to use it if necessary. The current US Administration doesn’t understand this, why is why those that do are running rings around it.

Some say that it would be good if things were not that way. I disagree. Would you really want your personal and national life organized by anti-democratic and unelected control freaks at the UN ? I do not.

Since power comes through the barrel of gun I say stop with all the legal bullspit. Israel owns territory through Right of Conquest – the same as every other country on the planet. If the Muslims can wrest it of Israel then they gain the right to hold the territory as long as they can.

Take the gloves 0ff and stop pretending that reality is any different. The pretense of ‘law’ is what is delaying the resolution of the territorial status. Too many fscking lawyers and bureaucrats clouding the issue with their nonsense memes.

Israel should resolve this sooner rather than later. Have the confidence to say, “We paid blood to gain this territory. We were not the aggressors but we hold it now, it is ours. Molon Labe !”.

The longer Israel leaves this the worse its strategic situation becomes, because the Islamists keep trying without any counter-attack on their home territory. The most effective counter-attack is ideological – to show that the archeological evidence does not match Islam’s claims about its origins – Islam is FICTION and thus FALSE – that is how Islam will be defeated in the end:
“An Historical Critique of Islam’s Beginnings”
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd9lIuUjPs0

At the moment, Israel is losing the strategic battle because it is focused on tactical victories. Many people cannot see this, that Israel is slowly losing against the Islamists (they are gaining nuclear capability in many countries). Enlightenment Civilization must defeat Islam ideologically, by showing the PROOF we already possess that Islam is FICTION, and thus FALSE.

        • Control through the use of force has indeed been the way of the world since day one, and I for one agree with you–Israel should hold all land they won from moslems; it is theirs.

For people who claim to be ‘grown up’ (U.N.) to back the spurious claims of a murderous desert cult over the claims of a law-abiding, highly successful people who just wish to live in peace but are never allowed to, is childish at best, and utterly disgusting at worst.

        • It won’t be possible to convince Muslims that Islam is false.

The way to defeat Muslims is to convince non-Muslims that Islam is barbaric, obscurantist, and murderous and to expel all Muslims from non-Muslim lands. Forthwith.

The “three great abrahamic faiths” flapdoodle also needs to be tossed into the dustbin of history and the slough of despond.

In short, Muslims should be free to wallow in their Islam-besotted glory to their hearts’ content, free of any ideas that vex them.

Westerners need to embrace the simple notions that foreigners belong in their own countries, that foreigners have little to contribute by their presence, and that it is not their duty to solve or alleviate the problems of foreigners by importing them and subsidizing them and their problems.

The flow of massive oil wealth to repulsive, Arab, joke countries so they can finance terror, subversion, jihad, and ruling-circle oppression and sybaritism must end. The post-WWII international legal order warrants a long-overdue agonizing reappraisal.

Watching the spasms, tears, and asinine declarations of the snowflakes, buttercups, and overeducated lunatics in the last six weeks leads one to ask, “When is this ________ going to end?” A lot of sane people with this same thought in mind probably arranged for Donald Trump’s recent late-in-life career change.
