Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/22/2016

A German court has ruled that Muslim zealots who patrol the streets wearing “Sharia Patrol” vests are not violating any laws. The case grew out of the actions of the notorious convert Sven Lau and his supporters, who patrolled the streets of Wuppertal watching for sharia violations.

In other news, Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said in a television interview that when her boss becomes president, he will not pursue legal charges against Hillary Clinton for her handling of classified emails.

Trump and the Coming Economic Collapse

Trump will be facing $1.0 to $1.5 trillion annual deficits within a year of his inaugural. Interest rates will be screaming. Federal debt servicing will go through the roof, which will further exacerbate the deficits…

What will be needed is to take a page out of the Depression of 1920-1921. Warren Harding had just succeeded Woodrow Wilson, and Congress was not yet lathered up with FDR socialists. Thus they left the marketplace alone. They didn’t intervene with massive regulations, taxes and subsidies that sucked vital capital out of investment channels. They didn’t try and prop up prices and wages; they left them alone to seek their rightful market levels, which allowed them to clear at lower, more realistic numbers, which allowed everyone to go back to work within 18 months and earn viable livings. In other words, government let the forces of correction take their natural course…

This will require a coterie of very sharp economic advisors around him. It will require lots of luck and a populace that will be willing to make the sacrifice. The fate of America will be in Trump’s hands. If he gets it right the future of freedom will be assured for the upcoming centuries. If he gets it wrong, the future of America will be a descent into globalism as collectivists march upon Washington to further the centralization of our country, and initiate “regional” government first as a way station to “globalist” government later in the century.

Bureaucratic Tyranny in Trump’s Crosshairs

Federal bureaucrats have been in a frenzy of activity in Obama’s last months of office, pushing through 4,000 new regulations that will cost consumers more than $100 million. As liberal website Politico proudly reported, “Obama’s executive agencies are intent on pushing through the president’s priorities without congressional interference[…]”

Trump has promised to rein in our overreaching bureaucracy through attrition. His rival in the primaries, Jeb Bush, suggested three bureaucrats retire for each new hire. That might save some money, but it will not get the job done of ending corruption and bureaucratic tyranny.

We have elected a man famous for two words: “You’re fired!” For Trump to legalize that simple act, as necessary in the government as in business, will be nothing less than a revolution.

We have a VA that purposely lets vets die without medical care.

We have an EPA at war with the energy industry.

The Department of Education threatens public schools with loss of federal funds and mandates progressive lies about American history, teaching generations of schoolchildren to be ashamed of America and ignorant of our Constitution and our forefathers. Universities are forced by the DOJ to hire feminist and racialist thought police under an Obama bureaucrat’s interpretation of the Civil Rights Act.

We have an IRS that has a political enemies list its employees punish at the behest of Democrats.

Homeland Security and FBI are under a gag order that forbids them to use the term jihad or Islamic extremism.

Everywhere we look, regulations are strangling business, intruding into the personal lives and property rights of ordinary citizens. The cost to families is crushing. One among the hundreds of Obama’s new global warming regs: fuel-efficient furnaces will raise the price of furnaces almost $500.

And most famously, we have Obamacare’s 11,588,500 words of regulations destroying our once superb medical system and burying consumers under 30% and even 60% premium hikes for lousy insurance coverage.

Conservative Backlash Over Trump’s ‘Jail Clinton’ U-Turn

Donald Trump supporters are lashing out at the president-elect for backing down from prosecuting Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server.

His team said he would not keep his campaign pledge to try to have her jailed, and Mr Trump later said it would be too divisive to go ahead with.

The FBI cleared her of any criminality but chants of “lock her up” became a rallying cry at his campaign events.

Conservatives seized on the news as a “betrayal” and a “broken promise”.

Redstate.com said that a failure to appoint a special prosecutor, as he promised, would reveal the “very real fact that the candidate is not who he claimed to be”.

The right-wing Breitbart News Network, one of the Manhattan billionaire’s most loyal supporters, denounced the climb-down as a “broken promise”.

Conservative commentator Anne Coulter tweeted her reaction to the news, saying: “Whoa! I thought we elected @realDonaldTrump president. Did we make him the FBI, & DOJ? His job is pick those guys, not do their jobs.”

She later followed up to say that: “No president shld be blocking investigators from doing their jobs. #EqualUnderLaw”

Conway: Trump Partially Owes Election Win to ‘Avalanche’ of Negative Coverage

President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign manager said Monday that the real estate mogul owed his victory in this month’s election in part to what she called an “unprecedented avalanche of critical coverage.”

Kellyanne Conway spoke to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on “The Kelly File” hours after representatives from five major TV networks, including Fox, met with the president-elect at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan.

“There was a backlash against elites, backlash against those who were telling Americans what was important to them,” Conway said. “This statement, this transgression, this issue; whereas if you looked at the [polls], you’d see that Americans were very focused on jobs and the economy, healthcare, immigration, terrorism. I mean, the clues to this election were right in front of us the whole time.”

Day One of Trump Presidency: Withdraw From the TPP

Trump characterized the move a part of a plan to advance the simple core principle of “putting American first.” President-elect Donald Trump said Monday that on his first day in office next January he will begin the process of withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a prospective trade deal which has been a centerpiece of the Obama administration’s “rebalance” to Asia, but which Trump while campaigning called “horrible.”

Trump said in an online video message on priorities for his first 100 days that he has asked his transition team “to develop a list of executive actions we can take on day one, to restore our laws and bring back our jobs. It’s about time.”

“On trade, I am going to issue our notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a potential disaster for our country,” he said. “Instead, we will negotiate fair, bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto American shores.”

[Comment: Good. Globalist planned TPP should be flushed down the toilet where it belongs.]

Electors Flooded With Nasty Calls and Death Threats: “Demand Electoral College Switch to Hillary”

A member of the electoral commission in Texas says his colleagues are getting death threats as angry Hillary supporters ramp up the pressure before electors cast their vote on December 19th.

Hillary voters around the country are bombarding electors with emails, some of them threatening, in an effort to force them to vote against the outcome of the presidential election.

“At first everyone was kinda enchanted by it. Now all the electors are starting to get beaten down. There are some electors who have been threatened with harm or with death,” Texas elector Alex Kim told NBC 5.

“When people ask me to vote for Hillary Clinton, there’s no way,” he said. “I reject the Democratic Party principles and I reject Hillary Clinton.”

Kim said he had a message for all the people who are trying to pressure him into changing his vote; “Go to hell”.

As we previously reported, another elector in Michigan said he has also received a number of death threats, including a promise that he would be shot in the head if he voted for Trump.

Fake News Site CNN Completely Misrepresents Quote, Rest of Lying Media Runs With it

CNN has once again shown themselves to be a fake news site.

Someone alert that feminist cat lady.

– From The Daily Caller:

CNN made a false claim Monday afternoon and various journalists ran wild with it.

It all started with a segment on CNN’s The Lead which quoted prominent white nationalist figure Richard Spencer as wondering if Jews were actually people. CNN host Jim Sciutto said, “of Jews Spencer said, ‘one wonders if these people are people at all, or instead soulless golem.’“

“That is an alt right leader Richard Spencer talking about Jews,” Sciutto added. CNN then had a panel with RealClearPolitics’ Rebecca Berg and The Boston Globe’s Matt Viser with the chyron “ALT-RIGHT FOUNDER QUESTIONS IF JEWS ARE PEOPLE.”

Except, Spencer did not make those remarks about Jews and was instead talking about political consultants on television.

Hackers Force “Bank ATMs to Spew Cash”: Grid Vulnerabilities System-Wide

With everything online, nothing is safe from criminals.

Every ATM and every device is potentially hackable, and now a string of banks in Asia is learning the hard way that many people will go to great lengths in order to hit jackpot.

Gangs are now taking advantage of system exploits, and have hatched a scheme to infiltrate banks’ code and turn on the automatic ATM dispenser, letting the cash flow freely out of the machine — dramatic, and dangerous.

The whole system open to fraud, manipulation and outright theft; and as thieves become more organized, sophisticated rings are targeting not just individual accounts, individual customers or individual supply sources, but rather they are opening up the gates to the bank vaults themselves — in a way that was never possible in the old days.

Kissinger Speaks of Opportunity to Mold Trump

“He has no obligation to any particular group”

Despite Donald Trump clearly winning the presidency as an anti-establishment “alt-right” figure, Bilderberg elitist kingpin Henry Kissinger has declared that Trump “has no obligation” to any group and has intimated that he sees an opportunity to mold the new president.

Kissinger, who met with Trump last week to discuss foreign policy, described Trump as the “most unique” president-elect in his lifetime.

The former Secretary of State, and rabid elitist, conveniently avoided the fact that Trump won because of the tireless support of those who directly oppose everything Kissinger represents — the anti-establishment.

Mr. Trump, Please Don’t Appoint Gerard Robinson for the Dept. Of Education

If you were going to a surgeon for the first time, would you really choose someone who only had one year of experience under their belt? Why is the head of our highest education positions considered to not need people with some experience under their belts but yet are referred to as highly qualified?

I am doing a Part 2 on Gerard Robinson because I want parents to fully understand the manipulation which has been going on behind the scenes in placing individuals in charge/overseeing your children’s education. Cherry picking these individuals who have practically no teaching experience under their belts, but are willing to follow the “leaders” as to how they want education to affect our children’s lives is unacceptable.

When you have individuals like Gerard Robinson and Michelle Rhee being allowed to dictate the futures of our children by being given positions like Commissioner of Education or Chancellor over a whole state when they have only taught school for one-three years is insane.

Obama Declares War on Infowars, Breitbart

Globalists want to regain control over public opinion

With the intention to censor independent media, President Obama is now spearheading the fervent assault on so-called “fake news.”

This war on “fake news” began after anti-Trump world leaders, heads of social media platforms and the mainstream press realized they lost the presidential election because they no longer had credibility and influence over the US population.

Obama made clear his desire to limit news reports by populist media at a press conference in Lima, Peru, on Sunday where he also defended the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Satellite Temperatures Show Global Pause Resumes as Temperatures Plunge

New satellite data shows temperaturesare plunging downwards, despite NOAA and NASA using heavily jiggered data to show a global warming trend this century. Maintained by the RSS group from the University of Alabama/Huntsville and partially funded by NASA, it shows temperatures are heading toward pre-El Nino temperatures.

The previous El Nino began in 2015 and ended in 2016 and elevated worldwide temperatures for about 15 months. The satellite temperature record is important because it’s not affected by land and sea biases, such as concrete, the Urban Heat Island effect, missing data stations, and hotter cityscapes.

Trump Continues to Blast Media — Cancels Meeting With “Failing New York Times”

Just one day after calling a summit of the major mainstream media executives and anchors at Trump Tower in which he referred to everyone as “dishonest, deceitful liars,” Trump this morning has continued his feud with the media by cancelling a planned meeting with the “failing New York Times.” A tweet sent by Trump this morning indicated that the meeting was cancelled after the New York Times tried to change the “terms and conditions” of the meeting which Trump found to be “not nice.”…

While Trump has never had a great relationship with the New York Times, it turned nuclear back in October when they obtained and published a copy of his 1995 tax return along with a baseless headline implying that he hadn’t paid taxes in 20 years. In reality, the tax return merely revealed Trump’s usage of net operating losses to offset ordinary income which is a fairly common practice employed by many business owners.

Trump’s Tax, Infrastructure Promises Face Pushback From GOP Lawmakers

President-elect Donald Trump vowed to rebuild the country’s infrastructure on the campaign trail — but a closer look at his $1 trillion proposal to give the nation’s highways, bridges and railways a makeover shows the freshman politician faces a rough road of his own with members of the GOP.

During his victory speech, Trump pledged he’d “rebuild our infrastructure, which will become, by the way, second to none.” He added, “We will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it.”

When President Obama tried to deliver on a similar promise, Republican lawmakers fought him at every turn, making their deep-seated dislike for government spending known.

If the fiscal fights of the past are any indication of what’s to come, Trump could have a tough time. Take the budget, for example.

Trump’s agenda seems to run counter to years of promises made by congressional Republicans to balance the federal budget.

President-elect Donald Trump will not pursue charges against Hillary Clinton relating to the Clinton foundation or the former secretary of state’s use of a private email server, former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday.

Trump Says US to Quit TPP on First Day in Office

President-elect Donald Trump says the US will quit the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal on his first day in the White House.

He made the announcement in a video message outlining what he intends to do first when he takes office in January.

The TPP trade deal was signed by 12 countries which together cover 40% of the world’s economy.

Mr Trump also pledged to reduce “job-killing restrictions” on coal production and stop visa abuses.

But there was no mention of repealing Obamacare or building a wall on the southern border with Mexico, two actions he said during the campaign he would do as soon as he assumed power.

Trump Disavows ‘Alt-Right’ Supporters

Donald Trump has repudiated the fringe “alt-right” group that celebrated his election win with Nazi salutes.

In a far-ranging interview with the New York Times, the US president-elect was quoted as saying: “I condemn them. I disavow, and I condemn.”

He said he did not want to “energise” the group, which includes neo-Nazis, white nationalists and anti-Semites.

Alt-right supporters were filmed on Saturday in Washington DC cheering as a speaker shouted: “Hail Trump.”

In the video, Richard Spencer, a leader of the “alt-right” movement, told a conference of members that America belongs to white people, whom he described as “children of the sun”.

He denounced the movement’s critics as “the most despicable creatures who ever walked the planet”.

When it Comes to Fake News, The U.S. Government is the Biggest Culprit

Let’s talk about fake news stories, shall we?

In the midst of the media’s sudden headline-blaring apoplexy over fake news, you won’t hear much about the government’s role in producing, planting and peddling propaganda-driven fake news-often with the help of the corporate news media-because that’s not how the game works.

Why?

Because the powers-that-be don’t want us skeptical of the government’s message or its corporate accomplices in the mainstream media. They don’t want us to be more discerning when it comes to what information we digest online. They just want us to be leery of independent or alternative news sources while trusting them-and their corporate colleagues-to vet the news for us.

Why Bannon is Targeted

Bannon is targeted because the left knows he is dangerous. Bannon has a keen understanding of alternative media and the Internet. Bannon understands the greater cultural divides and developments in the electorate which made the Trump victory possible. Bannon also knows that the Trump administration must not be co-opted by the party establishment types or the neocons who’s war policies Trump disagrees with. Internally Bannon is the keeper of the Trump flame and must be a protector of the Trump agenda.

To be a great president Trump must deliver on his core promises of sealing our boarders, recharging economy, renegotiating the detrimental globalist trade deals upgrading veterans healthcare to be the finest in the world, creating a job boom in our inner cities while conducting a foreign policy that keeps us out of war while entering a new period of detente and hardheaded negotiations with Putin and the Russians that will enable us to work in coordination to crush our mutual enemy ISIS.

Concerns about crimes committed in their country by illegal immigrants and concerns about the ultimate social welfare costs for those who come here illegally and stay does not make one a racist.

PM Useful Idiot Hopes to Mirror Ontario’s Economic Debacle on National Scale

Canada’s rejection of coal will clear the air but impact workers and power bills

Environment Minister Catherine McKenna hastened the decline of Canada’s coal industry Monday with the announcement of a plan to aggressively phase out coal-fired power plants by 2030, roughly ten years ahead of schedule.

The plan is a cornerstone of the federal government’s move to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to 30 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 in order to meet commitments it made at the Paris climate summit.

Britain Rejects Trump’s Call to Make Nigel Farage US Ambassador

In his latest surprising tweet on Monday evening, Donald Trump revealed an unprecedented expression of support for Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage — whom he met after his election victory before any other EU leaders — to be made British ambassador to Washington, saying “many people would like to see Nigel Farage represent Great Britain as their Ambassador to the United States. He would do a great job!.”…

However, Prime Minister Theresa May, who congratulated Trump on his victory, was swift to reject such an undiplomatic proposal. “There is no vacancy,” a Downing Street spokesman said when asked about Trump’s remark on Tuesday. “We already have an excellent ambassador to the US.”

European Union Army Set for Creation, UK to Fund Despite Brexit

EU Parliament set to approve super army

The European Parliament is set to grant increased power to a central military structure, leaving the U.K. on the hook to share the costs despite voting to leave the EU.

Members of the European Union Parliament are set to meet in the French city of Strasbourg this week to approve a report granting increased military responsibilities to the Common Security and Defense Policy.

A mutual defense clause, identical to NATO’s Article 5, will require all members to assist another member state in the event of an attack.

In addition, the position of European Union Defense Minister will be created to oversee the combined military force, as well as a permanent headquarters staffed by civilian and military personnel.

The report directly mentions the “Brexit” vote in the United Kingdom as a justification for the creation of an EU army.

“At a time when public support for the EU is being called into question in some Member States, defence and security is an area where the individual and collective benefits of more Europe can be easily demonstrated, especially regarding the likely challenges to EU’s standing as a strategic actor following Brexit,” it says.

Despite voting to leave the European Union, residents of the United Kingdom will still be forced to pay millions to fund the project as Prime Minister Theresa May’s government has yet to follow through on the referendum by triggering Article 50 to begin the process of leaving the EU.

UKIP Defense Spokesman Mike Hookem (MEP) said the report “has huge implications for the sovereignty of the UK and its ability to control its own military.”

His Master’s Voice: Swedish MEPs in Soros’ Servitude

Swedish politicians, who are known for their penchant for multiculturalism and diversity, have been found to be the most loyal allies of Hungarian-American business magnate George Soros who chairs the Open Society Foundation, leaked documents reveal.

The Open Society Foundation was found to have hired a consulting firm to evaluate members of the European Parliament and assess their support of the foundation’s values until the end of their tenure in 2019, Swedish news outlet Fria Tider reported, referring to the leaked document. An itemized list of European MPs indicated that Swedish politicians are by far the most loyal to George Soros’ political ambitions. As many as 13 of the 20 Swedish MEPs (equivalent to 65 percent) were classified as “loyal allies.” Remarkably, the list of Swedish Soros loyalists includes representatives of parties from both ends of the political spectrum, who happen to be opponents on the home arena. Among others, Lars Adaktusson of the Christian Democrats Party, Anna Maria Corazza Bildt of the Conservative Party, Peter Ericsson of the Green Party, Fredrick Federley of the Center Party and Soraya Post of the Feminist Initiative, were pointed out as loyalists. Geroge Soros, long an advocate of imposing more taxes on the wealthy, has himself amassed a massive fortune by delaying those very tax payments — but the bill may be about to come due.

Ireland and Finland were placed on second and third place respectively (with 54.5 and 53.8 percent of MEPs labeled as Soros loyalists). On the opposite side of the list, Eastern European countries like the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Hungary were placed, with only 2 of 21, 1 of 11 and 1 of 21 Soros loyalists among its MEPs. Previously, 86-year-old financier George Soros, was found to have sponsored Swedish far-left activists Expo to train leftists within the framework of the pan-European election campaign. Additionally, Swedish entrepreneur Daniel Sachs was found to receive a grant from Soros for combatting “nationalism” during the 2014 parliamentary elections. In 2014, millions of dollars were handed out to various European organizations by the Open Society in an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the elections held in Europe that year, Fria Tider earlier reported, citing the DC Leaks portal, where some 2,500 documents from the Open Society were made public. In 1992, Soros became famous in Sweden after an extensive currency speculation affair against the Swedish krona, which subsequently triggered a mass shift of deposits to other currencies for fears of the krona’s collapse. In 1998, six years thereafter, Soros was invited to Sweden. In addition to a dinner with the Royal family, a meeting with Swedish magnate Peter Wallenberg and a lecture at the School of Economics, he also held a lecture to at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Italy: PD Drops ‘Cronyist’ De Luca Amendment

Campania governor calls uproar so much ‘hot air’

(ANSA) — Rome, November 22 — The Democratic Party (PD) on Tuesday shelved a proposed amendment to the 2017 budget that would have rescinded a ban on regional governors also serving as health commissioners. “I will submit a proposal that will take (the objections) into account,” budget rapporteur and PD MP Mauro Guerra told the House finance committee. The measure was dropped after the opposition — the populist euroskeptic 5-Star Movement (M5S), the rightwing anti-immigrant Northern League, and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi’s center-right Forza Italia (FI) party — claimed it amounted to cronyism because it would favor PD Campania Governor Vincenzo De Luca.

M5S MPs followed this up with an announcement at a press conference that they will appeal to the Campania judiciary and to the parliamentary anti-mafia commission over the so-called De Luca amendment.

The opposition based its accusations of cronyism on an interview yesterday in which Renzi upheld De Luca as “an example of good government” when he served as mayor of Salerno. De Luca’s last term as mayor of the Campania city lasted from June 2006 to January 2015.

“I don’t agree with his methods but if the whole South had been run like Salerno we’d have an additional point of GDP,” Renzi told business paper Sole 24 Ore’s Radio 24. Reporters were questioning the premier about audio footage that surfaced, in which De Luca urged Campania mayors to vote ‘Yes’ on a December 4 referendum on Renzi’s constitutional reform law for reasons including the fact that government is allocating funds to Campania. “Yes, we’re earmarking a lot of money for Campania, because it’s shameful that some regions aren’t laboring under the same conditions as others,” Renzi replied.

“If (the) Pompeii (archeological site), collapses the entire country will look bad, not just Campania”.

For his part, De Luca replied today that Italy is mired in paralysis and that “one quip will earn you entire pages in the newspapers”.

“I get depressed when I think about how things are done in other countries, how much energy is invested in concrete things, and how many absolutely pointless idiocies are erased from public life there,” the southern governor said in Naples. “It’s no coincidence Nature herself stresses this characteristic of ours: we’re the only country in Europe with two active volcanoes — Etna and Vesuvius — because we’re the biggest producers of hot air in the world”.

‘Sharia Police’ Are Not Illegal, Rules German Court

A German court on Monday ruled that a group of Islamists did not break the law in forming “sharia police” street patrols and telling people to stop drinking, gambling and listening to music.

The ultra-conservative Muslim group around German Salafist convert Sven Lau sparked public outrage with their vigilante patrols in the western city of Wuppertal in 2014, but prosecutors have struggled to build a case against them.

The city’s district court ruled that the seven accused members of the group did not breach a ban on political uniforms when they approached people while wearing orange vests bearing the words “Sharia Police”.

Spanish Constitutional Court Has 45 Pending Appeals Relating to Catalonia

Barcelona(CNA).- The prosecution of Catalan politicians that contributed to the 9-N symbolic vote and of Parliament’s President, Carme Forcadell, for allowing the pro-independence roadmap to be put in vote on the 27th of July last, is not an anecdote in the chapter on Catalonia’s independence debate. According to data released this Tuesday by the Catalan Government spokeswoman, Neus Munté, the Spanish Constitutional Court has 18 pending appeals against Catalan laws, all of them issued by the Spanish Government. Furthermore, it has 27 pending complaints issued by the Catalan Executive for conflicts of competences with Madrid. “The Spanish Government is maintaining its judicial offensive against the Catalan executive and no one is sitting at the table but the Government of Catalonia”, lamented Munté this Tuesday.

Russia Finds Evidence of Chemical Weapons Use by Terrorists in Aleppo

Experts verify white phosphorous and chlorine deployed in Syria

Russian experts have found evidence that terrorists have been using chemical weapons in their regular attacks in Aleppo, Russia’s Defense Ministry said, adding that the UN’s watchdog hasn’t sent any specialists to the besieged city despite requests.

“In Area ‘1070’ in the southwestern suburbs of Aleppo, experts from the Russian Defense Ministry conducted rapid identification of nine selected samples (fragments of mines, the soil from the craters, places where shells landed), which confirmed [that the terrorists] had used chlorine and white phosphorus munitions to fill their ammunition,” he said.

According to Konashenkov, Russian experts took bioassays from four Syrians who were injured in a chemical attack for detailed testing.

Konashenkov stated that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which is dedicated to monitoring the use of chemical weapons, hasn’t yet sent any experts to the area, despite repeated calls from Moscow to do so.

“However, this does not prevent some OPCW members from remotely placing blame, and failing to recognize the facts of the use of chemical weapons in Aleppo against the civilian population,” he said.

India’s War on Cash is Forcing the Rich to Beg the Poor for Help

Driver Rahul Sharma, 25, remembers the exact day when his employer turned from a wolf into a lamb. It was November 9 when his employer called him beta — Hindi for “dear” — for the first time. The maid was asked to give him a cup of tea, for the first time.

“I was shocked at his sudden niceness. It went on for two days,” said Sharma. For the past three years, his New Delhi-based employer has been abusive, bad-tempered, and imperious, often demanding that he turn up for work at 6am after finishing work at midnight.

“He didn’t even bother to remember my name. When he wanted to summon me, he’d call out ‘driver!’,” Sharma said.

“On the third day, the penny dropped. He asked me to deposit 250,000 rupees ($4900) in my bank account on his behalf so that he could get rid of his black money.” Maids, drivers, nannies, and cooks in India are experiencing unusual politeness from their employers. Beyond the work they do every day, they suddenly have another use — to launder the undeclared cash which the rich have been hoarding in steel wardrobes, under the mattress and in under-bed storage.

This sudden outbreak of niceness is the outcome of India’s current crackdown on “black money” — income in the form of cash that has not been declared to the tax authorities. On November 8, the day before Sharma’s employer became a lamb, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped 500 and 1000-rupee notes to root out corruption and force more Indians into the tax net.

In one fell swoop, the tens of millions of rupees that the rich kept at home in these denominations became worthless. If they deposit the money in the bank tax officials will pounce, imposing staggering penalties and taxes.

However until December 30, each Indian is allowed to deposit a smallish sum of 250,000 rupees in such defunct notes in their bank accounts without questions being asked. That is why the rich need the service of the poor.

Sharma and others like him have been implored by suddenly humble employers to deposit the amount in their accounts by the deadline — to be returned to their employers later.

“I refused him. I don’t want to get into trouble later if someone asks me how I got this money when I’m only a driver,” Sharma said.

Russia Sends Missiles to Pacific Islands Claimed by Japan

A military newspaper says that Moscow has deployed new anti-ship missiles on Pacific islands that are controlled by Russia but also claimed by Japan.

The Boyevaya Vakhta (Combat Duty) newspaper of Russia’s Pacific Fleet reported Tuesday that Bal and Bastion missile systems have been stationed on the islands, called the southern Kurils by Russia and the Northern Territories by Japan.

The disagreement over the islands, seized by the Soviet Union at the end of World War II, has kept the two countries from signing a peace treaty formally ending their wartime hostilities.

The move comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit Japan next month. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been pushing for progress in the territorial dispute.

Venezuela President Maduro Threatens to Sue JPMorgan

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is accusing JP Morgan of trying to sabotage Venezuela’s state oil company, and he’s threatening legal action.

A Document Inadvertently Leaked After it Was Caught on Camera Proves That Donald Trump Does Plan to Rapidly Build a Border Wall, Confounding Pundits Who Have Claimed it Was All Just Rhetoric.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, an expert on border security and legal immigration, met with Trump on Sunday in New Jersey.

Kobach was holding a file of papers, one of which was snapped by a media photographer from a distance. It is entitled “Department of Homeland Security Kobach Strategic Plan For First 365 Days”.

When zoomed in, the paper reads that “in addition to 386 miles of existing wall” there is a further “1989 miles planned for rapid build.”

According to Trump’s past statements, the total length of the wall wouldn’t need to run the whole 2,000 miles of the border due to natural barriers. It now appears that his border wall plan will cover the entire length of the border and may even overcompensate.

Obama Admin Fines Police Department for Not Hiring Non-Citizens

“Eliminating this unlawful citizenship requirement will help ensure that the Denver Sheriff Department hires the best and most qualified individuals to protect and serve.”

Denver County’s sheriff office has been slapped with a fine by the Department of Justice (DOJ) because it refused to hire non-citizens as deputies.

– From the beginning of 2015 through last March, the Denver Sheriff Department went on a major hiring binge, adding more than 200 new deputies. But those jobs ended up only going to citizens, because the department made citizenship a stated requirement on the job application. The department admitted as much in a new settlement with the U.S. government, which requires it to pay a $10,000 fine.

The department will also have to comb through all of its job applications from the past two years, identifying immigrants who were excluded from the hiring process and giving them due consideration.

“Eliminating this unlawful citizenship requirement will help ensure that the Denver Sheriff Department hires the best and most qualified individuals to protect and serve,” DOJ Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta said in a statement. “The entire community will benefit from these reforms.”

Italy ‘Among Worst in Europe on Abortion Rights’

Gyn group urges conscientious objector doc registry

(ANSA) — Rome, November 22 — Italy lags in Europe in terms of safeguarding the health of women choosing to terminate unwanted pregnancies, the Association of Italian Gynecologists in Favor of the Application of the 194 Law (LAIGA) said Tuesday.

The landmark so-called 194 law of 1978 legalized abortion within the first 90 days of pregnancy in Italy.

LAIGA said an average of 70% of doctors in the heavily Catholic country refuse to terminate pregnancies by claiming to be conscientious objectors on religious grounds, with peaks of 80-90% in eight of Italy’s 20 regions.

Health ministry data shows just 60% of Italy’s hospitals offer abortion services, which should be available to everyone by law.

“This means we’re almost at the levels of countries in which abortion is banned, such as Ireland and Poland,” said LAIGA President Silvana Agatone.

“We’re light years from countries like France, where conscientious objection is at 7%, or Scandinavian countries where conscientious objection doesn’t exist”.

“These numbers mean the health, and sometimes the lives, of women are at risk,” said Christian Fiala, a past president of the International Abortion and Contraception Federation (FIAPAC).

“Objectors shouldn’t work on wards where abortions are carried out”.

“The problem is that conscientious objectors aren’t just gynecologists, but also anesthetists, operation room staffers, nurses who refuse to insert a needle — even pharmacists,” said Loredana Taddei, who is in charge of gender policies at CGIL trade union federation.

Few are aware, however, that conscientious objection for pre- and post-abortion procedures is illegal, Magistrate Aniello Nappi pointed out. “It’s important… not to allow forms of boycott that could drive women to resort to clandestine abortions,” Nappi said.

To remedy this situation, LAIGA is calling for every province to have at least one hospital offering abortion services, and a conscientious objector registry for every facility “so women can have previous access to the information on who will be treating them”.

Note Making Fun of Butt-Hurt Leftists Deemed a “Hate Crime”

Message that read “suck it up, pussies!” investigated by Wisconsin police

A note that made fun of students for grieving over Donald Trump’s election victory is being investigated as a “hate crime” by police in Wisconsin.

The message, which read, “Suck it up, pussies!” was posted on the inside window of the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion at Edgewood College in Madison.

According to Vice President for Student Development Tony Chambers, the message caused, “A great deal of fear, sadness, and anger among students, faculty, and staff” and “was hateful and harmful toward members of our community”.

University staff subsequently “determined that the message constituted a Hate Crime, based on guidelines from the Jeanne Clery Act and state law”.

Think that’s crazy? After the University reported the incident, the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department is also now treating the case as a “hate crime”.

Wisconsin state law turns a crime into a “hate crime” if it targets someone based on their “race, religion, color, disability, sexual orientation, national origin or ancestry.”

It remains unclear as to why posting a funny note is a “crime” at all.

This is the world that social justice warriors are trying to create — one in which making jokes, making fun of their idiocy, or merely disagreeing with their political opinions is deemed a “hate crime” or harassment.

Priests to Keep Power to Absolve Abortion, Pope Francis

Creates World Day of the Poor,’no peace if Lazarus lies at door’

(ANSAmed) — VATICAN CITY, NOVEMBER 21 — Pope Francis has created a new annual World Day of the Poor in the Catholic Church’s liturgical calendar and allowed all Roman Catholic priests to keep the power to absolve abortion in an Apostolic Letter published on Monday.

The pontiff, who has placed mercy and inclusion at the center of his papacy, issued the letter called Misericordia et Misera (Latin for Mercy and Misery) after the conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

In the Apostolic Letter, the pope said that a world that is tolerant towards extreme poverty cannot enjoy peace, announcing the creation of a World Day of the Poor on the second to last Sunday of the Liturgical year. “It would be a day to help communities and each of the baptized to reflect on how poverty is at the very heart of the Gospel and that, as long as Lazarus lies at the door of our homes, there can be no justice or social peace,” he said, referring to a biblical story. “This Day will also represent a genuine form of new evangelization”. The pope also said priests would keep the right to absolve the sin of procured abortion that they have had during the Holy Year of Mercy, a power previously only retained by bishops or special confessors.

“I want to insist as firmly as I can that abortion is a grave sin,” the pope said, “because it puts an end to an innocent life”. But he continued: “I can and I must state that there is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled with the Father”.

He also insisted on the power of mercy on members of the traditionalist society founded by French Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, which broke with Rome after the Second Vatican Council.

The pontiff then told Catholic priests who take confession that they must focus on the “newness” of the Gospel. “No law or precept can prevent God from once more embracing the son who returns to him, admitting that he has done wrong but intending to start his life anew,” he said. “Remaining only at the level of the law is equivalent to thwarting faith and divine mercy… Christians are called to experience the newness of the Gospel”.
