Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/20/2016

German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced today that she will run for a fourth term. The only speed bump on Mrs. Merkel’s road to continued political dominance is the AfD (Alternative for Germany) party.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump loomed large in debates between Alexander van der Bellen and Norbert Hofer, the two presidential candidates in next month’s election in Austria.

In other news, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi spoke appreciatively of Donald Trump, and said he is looking forward to working with the president-elect.

Blue Collar Election Shocks Liberal Media

In Wisconsin, as noted by Wisconsin Public Radio, Republican Governor Scott Walker will have his biggest GOP majorities yet when lawmakers return to Madison next year.

Nichols, who writes for The Capital Times, says the Democratic Party of Wisconsin “is going to need to rethink and remake itself,” but that “this is not just a Wisconsin problem. This is a national crisis.” His solution is to elect a radical Muslim, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), as chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy rightly notes, “One would think that the last thing Democrats want to publicize after their wholesale repudiation by American voters is their party’s ties to radical leftists and Islamic supremacists.” Yet, he goes on, that will be the “predictable effect” of Ellison leading the Democratic National Committee.

Nichols is not alone in recommending Ellison as DNC chair. Ellison is backed by Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Chicago’s Homicide Rate Reaches Levels Not Seen in Almost 20 Years

The murder count in Chicago reached 700 this week. It’s the first time since 1998 that the city has seen such high numbers.

Joseph Anderson, a black man who died with a gunshot wound to the face, is at least Chicago’s 700th homicide victim for 2016. Jovan Wilson, 15-year-old grandson of U.S. Rep. Danny Davis, was also one of the victims. He was shot during a home invasion and an argument over gym shoes Friday.

College Kids Are Proving Trump’s Point

by George Will

Many undergraduates, their fawn-like eyes wide with astonishment, are wondering: Why didn’t the dean of students prevent the election from disrupting the serenity to which my school has taught me that I am entitled?

Campuses create “safe spaces” where students can shelter from discombobulating thoughts and receive spiritual balm for the trauma of microaggressions. Yet the presidential election came without trigger warnings?

The morning after the election, normal people rose — some elated, some despondent — and went off to actual work. But at Yale, that incubator of late-adolescent infants, a professor responded to “heartfelt notes” from students “in shock” by making that day’s exam optional.

Academia should consider how it contributed to, and reflects Americans’ judgments pertinent to, Donald Trump’s election. The compound of childishness and condescension radiating from campuses is a constant reminder to normal Americans of the decay of protected classes — in this case, tenured faculty and cosseted students…

Communists and Socialists Going Bonkers Over Trump

As I write, the three headlines in the rotating window at www.cpusa.org cry out in palpable pain:

“Mandate My Foot! The people rise against Trump”

“Seriously, fascism can Trump democracy” (clever play on “Trump” there)

“Do you want Trump’s finger on the nuclear trigger?”

These titles speak for themselves. More than that, the fact that there’s three of anything at the Communist Party USA website is a testimony to the Trump rage. For the longest time, CPUSA’s website had been fairly simple, with sparse cover content. Now, in the wake of The Donald, it is exploding with material — screaming, wailing material.

Included at CPUSA’s site are two calls to action, both rallies against Trump. One of the calls demands “No racists in the White House!” which is a link to a Southern Poverty Law Center letter wanting Steve Bannon purged from the Trump team. The other, a MoveOn.org petition, wants NBC to release “the Trump tapes.”

Both of these, incidentally, sit right above CPUSA’s “Bill of Rights” for Socialism.

All of this is mild compared to the howling litany at CPUSA’s flagship, People’s World, the successor to the longtime Soviet-funded and directed Daily Worker, where you can amuse yourself for hours with at least a dozen anti-Trump screeds.

Democrats Can’t Block Trump Appointments Due to Their Own Rules

(Washington Post) Senate Democrats are not going to be able to block Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions bid to become attorney general. And they can’t do much to stop Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo from assuming the helm of the CIA.

And they have only themselves to thank for it.

That’s because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what’s called the “nuclear option” allowing senators to approve by a simple majority all presidential appointments to the executive branch and the judiciary, with a big exception for Supreme Court justices.

End of the Beginning of the End

I will keep reminding you that you will never gain any ground at changing the national political mess until you regain control of your local political structure. Actually, you get congrats from me on this topic because Republicans not only have majorities in the House and Senate and a Republican is now in the Executive office in Washington, D.C., they also have 35 governorships and dominate most state legislatures. You’re doing what needs to be done to take back our country from the socialists!

The biggest difficulty non-traditional candidates have is making sure voters who live in the cities in which they campaign know who they are and what their platform is. They need publicity to get their message out so voters can consider them serious candidates. How do you achieve that with limited funds?

1. Most NTCMs assume they will write fabulously interesting press releases and local reporters will publish/broadcast them. WRONG!

First, if your candidate is a Republican you will get no help from the local media most of whom are committed Democrats. Understand this: In America, there are 1,500 newspapers, 1,100 magazines, 9,000 radio stations, 1500 television stations and 2,400 publishers. Almost all of them are owned by these 6 corporations: General Electric, Newscorp, Disney, Viacom, Time Warner, and CBS. If you (or a mutual fund in which you are invested) owns stock in any of these companies, you are supporting companies that want to destroy the sovereignty of America.

Facebook Reveals Seven Point Plan to Eradicate “Fake News”

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a message for his billion-plus users: “you’re not capable of deciding for yourself what is ‘news’ and what is not, so we will do it for you.”

Facebook has been widely blamed — by the left-leaning mainstream media — for allowing the spread of online misinformation, amusingly much of it pro-Trump, but Zuckerberg has rejected the notion that Facebook influenced the outcome of the election or that fake news is a major problem on the service.

[Comment: Conservatives and patriots should not use facebook. Use gab or another service that upholds constitutional values. Let facebook become an irrelevant echo chamber for communsits, just like mainstream media.]

Facebook’s New “Fun & Creative” Filter: A Frighteningly Powerful Facial Recognition Tool

Facebook recently purchased a facial recognition software company that promises to “bring more fun effects to photos and videos” posted on the social media behemoth. The origins of the technology — named “FacioMetrics” — is much more sinister, however, and is likely to be used in much less lighthearted ways. In its announcement of the acquisition, Facebook highlights FacioMetrics’ ability to “allow people to express themselves in fun and creative ways” and to “build even more engaging sharing experiences on Facebook.” There isn’t, however, any mention of how, and more importantly why, FacioMetrics was created.

George Mason Univ. Gets Their Fascism on — Who Knew it Was a Crime to Hang Anti-Terrorism Posters?Delete

In every communist regime or despotic hellhole throughout history, one of the first groups of people they go after are the artists

My friend and compatriot Oleg Atbashian found that out the hard way. Imagine my surprise this morning to find out he had been roughed up and arrested in Fairfax, Virginia. His crime was hanging anti-terrorism posters on the university campus. Oh, and bonus… he wasn’ t even read his rights. He is now out on $8,000 bail for putting up pro-Israel posters to combat a pro-Islamist conference at George Mason University. He faces the very real prospect of five years in prison for allegedly committing a “ class 6 felony.”

Oleg is an artistic genius. His satirical site, The People’ s Cube, is one of the very best out there. Oleg did the graphics for NoisyRoom and has done work for Trevor Loudon and Cliff Kincaid as well. He is a member of a small circle of commie hunters out there. We all have very long memories and we take it very personally when one of our own is treated like this.

Oleg: “ Back in my Soviet dissident days, when I was collecting signatures in defense of Andrei Sakharov, I was screamed at, threatened, and lectured by the KGB and Communist functionaries,” Oleg says. “ What I never imagined was that in the United States, the land of the free, I would not only be subjected to similar treatment, but go to jail.”…

In every communist regime or despotic hellhole throughout history, one of the first groups of people they go after are the artists. They are considered especially dangerous. That’ s when they aren’ t going after Jews of course. Oleg went to GMU to hang posters and stickers against Justice in Palestine. A group that has terrorist connections. Instead he was treated like a domestic terrorist himself.

Holy Terror in Chicago?

It’s frustrating that good, orthodox Catholic priests have to walk on eggshells here in the Archdiocese of Chicago, while politically leftist priests-activists, who are the darlings of the political/church establishment and local media, can basically say and do whatever they please without fear of punishment from the clerical powers that be.

The latest example: Father Jose Landaverde.

In This War Minnesota’s Twin Cities Are Lost

After spending all of last week in Minnesota, UTT’s professional assessment of the enemy situation is this: the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota — known as the “Twin Cities” — are in enemy-held territory. They are, at least for the time being, lost — meaning, they are under the control of a collaborative jihadist/marxist element there.

Background

The jihadi network in America is documented by UTT here, here and here, as well as in Raising a Jihadi Generation.

The Islamic jihadi network in the United States includes the most prominent Islamic organizations in America, as well as most of the 3,000+ Islamic Centers/mosques, all of the 700+ Muslim Students Associations (MSAs), all of the Islamic Societies and Islamic Associations (Hamas), and a large number of the Islamic non-profits created in 1993 forward.

The purpose of the Islamic Movement here — per their stated doctrine — is to wage Civilization Jihad until America becomes an Islamic State under sharia (Islamic Law).

One of the most popular junior high school text book in Islamic schools in the United States (Emmerick, Yahya, 1999, What Islam is All About, page 382) states:

“The duty of Muslim citizens is to be loyal to the Islamic State.”

Enemy Strength

Minnesota is home to the largest Somali population in America. It is estimated that over 125,000 Somalis live there, most of whom are in the Minneapolis area. This community sent at least 22 Islamic jihadi fighters overseas to fight for the terrorist group Al Shabaab, although some estimate the number is closer to four dozen.

The Cedar Riverside neighborhood is also called “Little Mogadishu” in reference to Somalia’s capital. Some Minneapolis residents feel parts of their city have become like a third world nation…

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton made his position clear when he told citizens of that state if they do not like the growing Muslim Somali population in Minnesota they can leave.

Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith is a hard-left Marxist who was the former Vice President of Planned Parenthood for Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Both Governor Dayton and Lieutenant Governor Smith have forged a strong working relationship with Hamas (CAIR) in Minneapolis.

[photo of MN Lt Governor Tina Smith (l) and MN Governor Dayton at HAMAS (CAIR) event

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges has bowed to the Islamic community, and advocates stopping “Islamophobia” instead of dealing with jihadi attacks in the United States and her state…

The Countering Violent Extremism or CVE is a program created in Britain by the Muslim Brotherhood. This is a hostile information campaign and a double-agent program, and was eagerly sought after by the U.S. government. CVE’s purpose is to ensure Muslim Brotherhood leaders are exclusively used by the government as the liaison for all matters pertaining to Islam and terrorism, so the MB controls the narrative in this war.

In Minnesota, the Islamic leadership took this to a new level when President Obama used Minneapolis as a CVE pilot city. The Muslim community not only uses CVE to control the counterterrorism efforts in Minneapolis/St. Paul, they are now bashing Minnesota’s leaders for the “Islamophobia” of CVE. It is a self-sustaining circular thrashing of Minnesota’s leadership for doing what the Muslim community asked them to do. Classic counterintelligence tactics.

Media Bias Has Become Mental Illness

Aware that their credibility is shot with the American people, the publisher and executive editor of The New York Times sent a “To our readers” note on Friday, saying, “we aim to rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism.”

This was another way of saying, “Sorry, we blew it,” without being honest with readers.

Those familiar with the paper’s “journalism” understand this to be media bias. But Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr. and Dean Baquet were suggesting something else-that something had gone wrong and they don’t quite know what happened, but don’t worry because the Times will get back to its mission of reporting truthfully.

Beating around the bush, they said Trump’s victory was “the biggest political story of the year,” which had “reached a dramatic and unexpected climax late Tuesday night…”

The word “unexpected” means that the paper’s predictions were wrong.

Millennials Supporting Karl Marx Not the Bible

We see now how angry and even violent the liberal progressive left turns out to be. Does anyone remember riots after Obama’s first election in 2008? It has also been reported, that some universities are offering counseling and safe spaces for students emotionally debilitated by the election results. I guess it has incapacitated their professors as well, who had to cancel their classes. One thing is apparent, the Marxists own the urban areas of our country; the more densely populated the more Marxist. Yet, cities are where you find the greatest failures of those marxist policies. Just consider Detroit, once one the wealthiest cities in the world that is until marxists were elected and began to give away the wealth of those who worked for it to those who would not work. Today Detroit is the sobering picture of the future of any society that is foolish enough to actually implement that system of government sponsored plunder known as marxism.

This election tells us that we are in the midst of an ideological war over this question: what is the purpose of civil government? is it a system of legalized plunder where the producers are robbed by those who won’t work, or is it a government which is focused on protecting God given rights which includes property rights…

When Alexis de Tocqueville visited American in the 1830’s one of the surprises for him was how small and nearly invisible civil government was. What he was witnessing was the blessing of a society where people by and large were self governed ordering their lives by the Word of God, where family government was vibrant, raising godly children who would fulfill their roles as godly contributors to society, where the church government was strong fulfilling all its God ordained duties and therefore civil government wasn’t all that important.

Norway Donations to Clinton Foundation to Fall Nearly 90% Off Peak

The Norwegian government’s planned contribution to the Clinton Foundation next year will be nearly 90 percent off its peak, news outlets in Norway are reporting.

Norway will donate 35.9 million kroner this year — or around $5.1 million — to the Clinton Health Access Initiative, a subsidiary of the Clinton Foundation, according to the Norwegian news outlet, Hegnar.

The Scandinavian nation will slash its donations by 36 percent next year to 23 million kroner. That marks a 87 percent decline from the 2015 peak.

The drastic cut could be a signal that other longtime Clinton Foundation donors will reduce donations in the wake of Hillary Clinton’s presidential loss.

Post Election Chaos

The big money people are upset because they spent tens of millions to elect Hillary and now they won’t get a return on their money. They want the power that they would have had had Hillary won. George Soros and other rich liberals who spent tens of millions of dollars trying to elect Hillary Clinton are gathering in Washington for a three-day, closed door meeting to retool the big-money left to fight back against Donald Trump.

The conference, which kicked off Sunday night at Washington’s pricey Mandarin Oriental hotel, is sponsored by the influential Democracy Alliance donor club, and will include appearances by leaders of most leading unions and liberal groups, as well as darlings of the left such as House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison, according to an agenda and other documents obtained by POLITICO.

The meeting is the first major gathering of the institutional left since Trump’s shocking victory over Hillary Clinton in last week’s presidential election, and, if the agenda is any indication, liberals plan full-on trench warfare against Trump from Day One. Some sessions deal with gearing up for 2017 and 2018 elections, while others focus on thwarting President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which the agenda calls “a terrifying assault on President Obama’s achievements — and our progressive vision for an equitable and just nation.”[3]

I remember when Obama won in 2008. Republicans didn’t riot in the streets, demand the election be reversed, destroy innocent people’s property, beat up Obama supporters, threaten people’s lives and generally be lowlife criminals. We put on our big boy pants, sucked it up and lived with the fact that we lost. As I recall we did the same thing in 2012 when Obama won re-election. What we are seeing is the uber left not being able to face the fact that their ‘business as usual’ system in D.C. is about to be put on its head. Under Obama we’ve coddled the ideology that demands that we drop our culture and embrace satan worship and shariah law and now we have a president that will stand for what has made America the greatest nation the world has ever seen, Christianity. He believes that immigration should benefit our nation and that means controlled immigration, vetting anyone who comes here and banning ideologies that are diametrically opposed to our way of life…

All the riots we are seeing are being funded by George Soros. Activist groups funded by radical billionaire George Soros are fomenting civil unrest in the streets in hopes of kneecapping President-Elect Donald Trump even before he takes the oath of office on Jan. 20.

Secret Service Can’t Find Tons of Its Guns, Phones, Badges and Cars

Thousands of sensitive assets belonging to U.S. Secret Service agents, including firearms, computer laptops, work badges, telephones and even motor vehicles, have been lost during the past 15 years, according to documents obtained by nonprofit government watchdog Judicial Watch.

“This is supposedly an elite law enforcement agency — how did all this equipment get stolen?” or lost. “This is alarming. Every American should be alarmed about this,” Judicial Watch’s Irene Garcia told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Secret Service agents reported 11,780 lost or stolen assets between fiscal years 2001 and 2016, according to the data Judicial Watch received, although the agency didn’t distinguish between lost and stolen items.

Watch! Six Communists Arrested After Attacking Trump Supporters, Media Yawns (Video)

Communists from the “ Red Guards Austin” were arrested after violently attacking Trump supporters during an anti-Trump rally at the Capitol on Sunday night, as reported at a local CBS affiliate.

Trevor Loudon is well aware of the violent and “ secretive” Red Guards Austin, who he describes as “ extreme Maoist.” This communist group, Loudon explains, is “ aligned with the Red Guards Los Angeles and the Kansas City Missouri-based Progressive Youth Organization, both of which were heavily involved in anti-Trump protests before the election.”

Referring to the arrests, the Red Guards Austin posted the following on Facebook using the code name “ Puka” for one of those arrested:

Developer Behind ‘Muslim Housing Project’ In Montreal Says Anyone With Shared Values Welcome

MONTREAL — Nabil Warda says he just wants to make it easier for Muslims who believe that paying interest is a sin to buy a house. So last month he had an email sent to members of a suburban Montreal mosque to gauge interest in a housing project with a halal financing arrangement that would skirt the need to pay interest on a conventional mortgage.

Radio-Canada broke news of the “Muslim housing project” planned for Brossard Monday and, within 24 hours, the three main parties in the National Assembly had denounced it.

Premier Philippe Couillard, speaking Tuesday in Morocco, where he is attending the United Nations climate conference, worried non-Muslims would face discrimination.

“Discrimination works in both directions, and so does inclusion; we are in favour of mixed housing for cultural communities and religious groups,” Couillard said.

The proposal to build up to 80 homes became a hot issue in the legislature, where members unanimously adopted a motion Tuesday directing the Minister of Municipal Affairs to inform municipalities that “no real-estate development can be based on religious or ethnic segregation.”

Coalition Avenir Québec leader François Legault, whose party is proposing a values test for all immigrants, described the proposal as an affront to Quebec values…

85 Per Cent Would Not Report Sex Crime, Survey Finds

People are highly unlikely to report sex crimes, according to a recent survey.

The survey on crime victimisation found that 85 per cent of those questioned would not file a sex crime report to the police.

Sex crime victims often fear lengthy court proceedings, with the penalties dished out to offenders often failing to justify all the legal hurdles, criminologist Janice Formosa Pace told The Sunday Times of Malta.

France Centre-Right Primary: Ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy Knocked Out

French ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy has been knocked out of a primary to choose the presidential candidate of the centre-right Republican party.

Admitting defeat, Mr Sarkozy endorsed Francois Fillon, a moderate who finished first in Sunday’s first round, according to near-complete results.

Alain Juppe, who like Mr Fillon is an ex-prime minister, finished second.

They will face each other in a run-off next Sunday. The winner will compete in next year’s presidential election.

The winner of the Republican primary is likely to make the presidential run-off, where he or she will probably face far-right leader Marine Le Pen.

With the governing socialists unpopular and divided, it seems unlikely that any left-wing candidate will survive the first round in April.

Germany’s Merkel Will Seek a Fourth Term, Face Populist Tide

Angela Merkel, who has steered Germany through several global crises as its first female leader, said Sunday she will seek a fourth term as chancellor in elections next year, when she could find herself up against the anti-immigrant populist tide that has swept both Europe and the U.S.

“I literally thought about this decision endlessly … but I am ready to run for office again,” Merkel told reporters after meeting with high-ranking members of her center-right party. “I want to serve Germany.”

Repeatedly named “The World’s Most Powerful Woman” by Forbes magazine, the 62-year-old Merkel has been cast by some as the last powerful defender of liberal values in the West following Donald Trump’s election as the next U.S. president.

A 32-year-old teacher named in sexual abuse claims that surfaced at State school earlier this week has been arrested, sources confirmed.

Police took the teacher, who along with three teenage students had been suspended in the wake of the claims, into custody earlier this evening.

Investigations into the case, which was flagged by the mother of a 14-year-old girl, have been widened in the wake of fresh claims that emerged yesterday.

Police sources said the probe was focusing on at least three cases, all of which allegedly happened since the start of this scholastic year at the Hamrun senior school.

Malta: Hamrun Sex Abuse Claims: Teacher Maintains Innocence

The teacher arrested in connection with sex abuse claims at the Hamrun Lyceum last week was questioned at length by the police yesterday and has maintained his innocence, The Sunday Times of Malta has learnt.

Sources close to the investigation said the police are treading carefully and treating the alleged case with the utmost sensitivity. They are currently trying to establish the facts by speaking to as many witnesses as possible.

According to the allegations, a group of male students, including a 13-year-old, sexually abused their 14-year-old female classmate with their teacher’s blessing on Tuesday at the Hamrun school.

Three students and the teacher were suspended pending the outcome of a police investigation and a magisterial inquiry.

Marine Le Pen Takes Huge Lead Over Nearest Rival in New French Presidential Election Poll

National Front leader Marine Le Pen has taken a commanding lead in the latest French presidential election poll.

The far-right leader had 29 per cent of the vote when pitted against Les Républicains’ Nicolas Sarkozy, who was eight points behind, and held a 15-point lead over the Parti de Gauche’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the poll released by Ipsos, which analysed five scenarios with different frontrunners.

The results are likely to add to growing fears that the rise of global populism could see Ms Le Pen on course to clinch the French presidential win, in the wake of the UK’s Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s victory in the US election.

It came as leading French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy warned people had lost interest in whether politicians tell the truth, in a development he said could set the National Front on course to occupy the Élysée Palace.

Poll: Europeans Turning Against EU

Populism against global elite rising worldwide

The majority of Europeans said they believe “things are going in the wrong direction,” from 41% to 54%, an increase of 13% from 2015, according to an EU commissioned poll…

Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s nationalist movement, says the momentum from Trump’s stunning victory has greatly increased their chances of winning the upcoming 2017 presidential election.

“Donald Trump has made possible what was presented as completely impossible,” Le Pen told CNN. “So it’s a sign of hope for those who cannot bear wild globalization.”

“They cannot bear the political life led by the elites.”

Likewise, Austria’s far-right presidential candidate Norbert Hofer told reporters: “Wherever the elites distance themselves from voters, those elites will be voted out of office.”

Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party, said Trump’s recent victory was a “revolution” that should be imitated across Europe.

Sweden Rebuilds Cold War Missile System From Museums

Sweden has reconstituted its old Cold War anti-ship defence system, pulling launch trucks out of museums, in its latest move to improve its defences on the island of Gotland.

The Kustrobotbatteri 90 was the only land-based launcher ever developed for the Saab Robotsystem 15 (RBS-15) anti-ship missiles, but only one of the four planned batteries was ever delivered before the coastal artillery was disbanded in 2000.

“We analysed whether we would be able to put something back together again which was capable of launching with,” Rear Admiral Thomas Engevall told Sweden’s Dagens Nyheter newspaper.

The RBS-15 missiles were launched from Scania trucks, several of which have now been recovered from museums.

“A number of the trucks still remained. We have have taken components from existing missile boats and warships which had the same missile system,” Engevall added…

Monkey Incident Sparks Clashes in Southern Libyan City of Sabha, 16 Dead

At least 16 people died and 50 were wounded in Libya in four days of clashes between rival factions in the southern city of Sabha, a health official said on Sunday.

According to residents and local reports, the latest bout of violence erupted between two tribes after an incident in which a monkey that belonged to a shopkeeper from the Gaddadfa tribe attacked a group of schoolgirls who were passing by.

The monkey pulled off one of the girls’ head scarf, leading men from the Awlad Suleiman tribe to retaliate by killing three people from the Gaddadfa tribe as well as the monkey, according to a resident who spoke to Reuters.

City officials could not be reached to confirm the accounts.

“There was an escalation on the second and third days with the use of tanks, mortars and other heavy weapons,” the resident told Reuters by telephone, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the denigrating security situation.

“There are still sporadic clashes and life is completely shut down in the areas where there has been fighting.”

Like other parts of Libya, Sabha has been periodically plagued by conflict since the uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi five years ago splintered the country into warring factions…

Sisi Praises Trump, Expects More US Engagement in Region

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi praised US President-elect Donald Trump and said he expected greater engagement in the Middle East from his administration, in an interview with Portuguese media.

The former Egyptian army chief had strained relations with outgoing President Barack Obama’s administration, which had temporarily suspended military aid after Sisi toppled his elected predecessor in 2013.

“Personally I respect and appreciate” Trump, Sisi said according to an English translation of his remarks to Portuguese news agency LUSA published on Saturday.

“I believe that President-elect Trump will be more rigorously engaged with the issues of the region,” he said.

“As a matter of fact President-elect Trump has shown deep and great understanding of what is taking place in the region as a whole and what is taking place in Egypt,” he added.

“That is why I am looking forward, and I am expecting more support and more reinforcement of our bilateral relations”.

Danny Danon to UN Forum: ‘See You in Court, BDS’

Danny Danon says the days of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement’s lies and intimidation are “coming to an end.”

NEW YORK — Hundreds of people gathered at United Nations headquarters on Wednesday night to attend a forum held by the Israeli Mission to the UN to discuss the legal fight against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

Ambassador Danny Danon hosted the event in his capacity as the chairman of the UN Sixth Committee, the primary forum for the consideration of legal questions in the General Assembly.

“We are here to send a simple message to the BDS movement: To the bullies who harass students on campus, to those who use the language of civil rights to mask their hate, to the activists who are conducting this illegal and unjust campaign of hate; your time is over, your movement based on lies and intimidation is coming to an end,” he told the crowd. “We will use every tool and every legal measure to stop the hate.”

Putting a stop to the anti-Israel movement, Danon said, should be at the top of the UN agenda. “We will focus on lawfare, the use of legal procedures, to fight bias and discrimination and to stand up to boycotts. We are here to learn from the experts to think of new ways to collaborate so we can tell BDS activists: See you in court!…

Election of Donald Trump as President is Sending Shockwaves Through the Multi-Billion Dollar Refugee Resettlement Industry

On the campaign trail, Trump promised to suspend the Syrian refugee resettlement program, as well as the resettlement of refugees from countries that are hostile to the United States.

Two days before the election, at a rally in Minnesota, Trump also stated that “a Trump administration will not admit any refugees without the support of the local community where they are being placed,” a policy that will simply enforce the “consultation clause” of the Refugee Act of 1980, an element of the statute the Obama administration has largely ignored.

Refugee resettlement is profitable to the organizations involved in it. They receive money from the federal government for each refugee they bring over. They have almost no real responsibilities for these refugees. After 4 months the “sponsoring” organization is not even required to know where the refugee lives…

“If [Trump] decide[s] to cut the state funds or federal funds for refugees, refugee resettlement will collapse and we won’t be able to bring in any refugees to this country,” Vidhya Manivannan, formerly with Church World Services, one of the nine voluntary agencies (VOLAGs) who receive more than $1 billion a year in federal funding, told Newsweek on Wednesday, one day after Trump’s election.

“In the U.S., there’s not a quota that has to be filled. The U.S. has a budgeted amount of money to do refugee resettlement, but there’s no requirement that the U.S. resettle a single refugee, and there’s no legal obligation to do it,” Bill Frelick, director of Human Rights Watch’s refugee program, told Newsweek.

It would be “fairly easy” for President Trump to suspend the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States, Frelick told Newsweek, “because this is discretionary.” Frelick said Trump’s victory left him “shell-shocked,” a word that described the reaction of the entire refugee resettlement industry.

Pope Francis: “…It is the Communists Who Think Like Christians”

Last week, Pope Francis told Italian journalist and co-founder of the newspaper La Repubblica Eugenio Scalfari that “…it is the communists who think like Christians.”

Here is the exchange:

Q: You told me some time ago that the precept, “Love your neighbour as thyself” had to change, given the dark times that we are going through, and become “more than thyself.” So you yearn for a society where equality dominates. This, as you know, is the programme of Marxist socialism and then of communism. Are you therefore thinking of a Marxist type of society?

A: “It it has been said many times and my response has always been that, if anything, it is the communists who think like Christians. Christ spoke of a society where the poor, the weak and the marginalized have the right to decide. Not demagogues, not Barabbas, but the people, the poor, whether they have faith in a transcendent God or not. It is they who must help to achieve equality and freedom”.

Pope Francis also used a familiar progressive expression surrounding immigrants. He said in part, “…we need to break down walls and build bridges…” The pontiff said in part:

    • If the high crime of Treason had not been de-criminalized via 60 years of ‘massaging’ history, there would be no Sarkozys, Merkels or Hollandes to concern ourselves with.

      • Western governments will not enforce the treason law, that’s clear, as there are many people in the world today who qualify for a bullet or the rope, but I’ve been waiting patiently over the last 20 years for the citizens to start enforcing it.

It seems I wait in vain, and western citizens continue to sleepwalk to islam….

  1. I would think that a rational Hillary supporter would now look at how efficient and organized the Trump transition team is, and would perhaps have second thoughts about Hillary’s capabilities, even if not her positions. I think it’s more than obvious that Hillary would not be doing hand-on organization and interviewing like this. Her acolytes, like John Podesta and Huma Abedin, would be doing most of the work for her.

For the doctrinaire left, no actual display of reality is going to affect their narrative. To them, any movement at all by Trump is racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, impulsive, etc. I’m not fighting the culture fights here. You can see this attitude in the mainstream organizations which orient hard-left.

But, you know what these guys are missing. They are missing the fun of seeing an effective businessman work, and get something done. You can see the milestones being addressed on schedule. You can see the quality people, no hacks, interviewing for positions. These guys won’t sit on their hands if they think the country is being betrayed. Trump is building in his own controls, while controls were the very last thing the Democrats or Obama or Hillary wanted. Obama retired strong military leaders; Trump promotes them. And people are afraid of Trump going off half-cocked and pulling the nuclear trigger. The team that Trump is assembling would never stand for it, if there were any question of the national interest.
