Columbia University to Host No-Whites-Allowed Student Leadership Retreat
Students of color at Columbia University can apply to attend an upcoming racially segregated retreat hosted by the school that promises to embolden and empower participants, according to organizers.
The “Students of Color Leadership Retreat 2016” is open to students within the Columbia University undergraduate community, including its all-women’s Barnard College.
Slated for the weekend of Nov. 12 at Greenkill Retreat Center at the New York YMCA Camp, the event is billed as “an intensive weekend of personal development, empowerment and community building for student leaders at Barnard and Columbia who identify as African/African-American/Black, Latino/Hispanic, Asian/Asian-American, Pacific Islander, Arab and Middle-Eastern, Native & Indigenous, and Multiethnic/Multiracial,” according to the university’s website as well as the retreat’s online application form.

Communists Mobilize for Hillary Clinton
In a major development that will certainly be ignored by the mainstream media, longtime pro-Russian communist Angela Davis has announced that she will vote for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president.
“I have serious problems with the other candidate, but I am not so narcissistic to say I cannot bring myself to vote for her,” Davis said.
The recipient of the Lenin Peace Prize, Davis was a Communist Party candidate for vice president of the United States when the CPUSA was funded by Moscow and provided cover for Soviet espionage activities.
Davis is a lesbian activist, in addition to being a communist and supporter of Democratic Party presidential candidates. A vegan, she has lately adopted animals as the latest victimsof the white oppressors.

Ami Bera of California is one of many “ security risk” Congressmen and Senators exposed in Trevor Loudon’ s new documentary: The Enemies Within.
Ami Bera entered Congress in the 2012 election as a (California Democrat, District 7), located just east of California’s capitol city, Sacramento. Bera kept his seat in the 2014 election by just eight-tenths of a percentage point.
Congressman Bera is a member of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans. He is also a member of the New Democrat Coalition, an allegedly centrist “ group of legislators dedicated to maintaining America’s standing as the world’s strongest, most successful nation.” He serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Science and Technology.

Media Bias Produces Mental Illness “Ameriphobia”
For Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, the latest scandal is that employees of his California golf course say he wanted to fire women who weren’t pretty enough. That’s the big scoop from the Los Angeles Times. Trump is supposed to be on the defensive compared to a female candidate who helped orchestrate cover-ups of “bimbo eruptions” from her husband’s mistresses?

Neighbor Describes NSA Contractor’s Arrest: “I Thought the Third World War Started”
The raid took place on August 27. “I thought the Third World War had started,” Bennett told me via telephone, describing the sight of his neighbor of 10 years being hauled away by heavily armed FBI agents.
Bennett recalls seeing “two dozen of these guys in camo uniforms, with rifles, come running across the yard knocking down his fence…they dragged him out, threw him on the ground, handcuffed him, and took him away.” He says the FBI agents remained at Martin’s home until “3 or 4 o’clock in the morning” removing computer equipment and papers.

Queens Man Arrested After Grandmother Found Dead in Their Home
The body of 85-year-old Erika Kraus-Breslin was found wrapped in plastic in her bedroom on Wednesday, and a 30-year-old man was brought into custody from the scene.
A Queens man has been arrested after his 85-year-old grandmother was found dead wrapped in plastic bags in her bedroom, police said Thursday.
Christopher Fuhrer, 30, is charged with not reporting a death, removing a body without permit and improper burial, police said.
Cops performing a wellness check after Fuhrer’s grandmother Erika Kraus-Breslin had not been seen in some time discovered her body, officials said. She was dead inside the white, single-family home she shared with Fuhrer on 65th St. in Ridgewood about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, sources and neighbors said.
The city medical examiner will conduct an autopy to determine how Kraus-Breslin died. “It’s a suspicious death,” a police source said at the scene, without elaborating on the grim discovery.

Snowden 2.0: NSA Contractor Arrested for Stealing Secrets
As the NYT reported moments ago, an NSA contractor, Harold Thomas Martin III, age 51, from Glen Burnie, MD was arrested on August 29th, with the FBI investigating whether he is the party responsible for stealing and disclosing highly classified computer codes developed to hack into the networks of foreign governments.
This latest theft of secret data by an insider raises the embarrassing prospect that for the second time in three years a disgruntled employee has managed to steal highly damaging secret information from the N.S.A. In 2013, Edward Snowden, who was also a contractor for the agency, took a vast trove of documents that were later passed to journalists, exposing vast NSA surveillance programs in the United States and abroad.
The information believed stolen by this contractor, who like Snowden worked for the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton which is responsible for building and operating many of the agency’s most sensitive cyberoperations, appears to be different in nature from Mr. Snowden’s theft the NYT adds.
The contractor arrested in recent weeks is suspected of taking the highly classified “source code” developed by the agency to break into computer systems of adversaries like Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. Two officials said that some of the information the contractor is suspected of taking was dated.
Predictably, moments ago Edward Snowden chimed in with a tweet, stating that “This is huge. Did the FBI secretly arrest the person behind the reports NSA sat on huge flaws in US products? “

South Carolina to Remove 1 Million Residents From Hurricane’s Path “Evacuation Isn’t Voluntary”
As Hurricane Matthew bears down on the East Coast, citizens in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas are getting prepared but some are being forced under armed guard to evacuate. Florida Gov. Rick Scott is warning it could be the biggest evacuation in Florida state history.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley announced plans this morning to evacuate “designated zones” of what was at first reported as a quarter of a million people within 100 miles of the state’s coastline specifically to Greenville, South Carolina 200 miles inland. It has now been announced South Carolina will evacuate over 1 million people.
A fleet of 315 school buses from Greenville has been dispatched to retrieve people from Charleston and transport them back to Greenville. The evacuation isn’t voluntary, either.

‘Get Out of Canada’: Students Angered, Concerned After Finding Dozens of Anti-Muslim Posters
Muslim students at the University of Calgary say they’re feeling vulnerable after anti-Muslim posters making derogatory references to the Koran and the Prophet Muhammad were found on campus. The university says campus security will now be reviewed.
Around 40 posters were found by students at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The flyers said “Dear Muslims, f**k your beheadings, f**k your Sharia, f**k your genital mutilations, f**k your TAQIYYA, f**k your [Muhammad], f**k your [Koran].”

The Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement(CETA), like other looming mega-treaties, is a comprehensive vehicle for expanding the scope of transnational investment by rolling back the capacity of governments to regulate in the public interest. The attack on democratic governance is not restricted to the notorious Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism, which privileges transnational capital by creating a parallel legal system exclusive to transnational investors. The invasive claims of transnational investors permeate the entire treaty…
The treaty builds on an expansive definition of investment which broadens its scope beyond existing treaties between Canada and the EU. It is virtually identical to the leaked draft investment chapter in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
The “legally scrubbed” official CETA text states, tautologically: “Investment means every kind of asset that an investor owns or controls, directly or indirectly, that has the characteristics of an investment” (CETA, 2014: 39). Characteristics of an investment include “the expectation of gain or profit.” In addition to direct investment in an enterprise, ‘investment’ includes stocks, shares, bonds and other debt instruments; concessions, “including to search for, cultivate, extract or exploit natural resources”; intellectual property rights and “other moveable property, tangible or intangible, or immovable property and related rights,” and “claims to money or claims to performance under a contract” (CETA 2014: 39ff). A corporation need only demonstrate a “legitimate expectation” of profit to challenge regulatory obstacles to realising that expectation.
The market access and national treatment provisions set out in the investment chapter apply to governments at every level, erasing all restrictions in the name of ‘non-discrimination’. The treaty prohibits governments from managing foreign investment for distinct objectives, and prohibits any restrictions on profit repatriation.

‘EU Responsible for Chaos in Syria’ — France’s Marine Le Pen
Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s National Front party, has accused the European Union of being responsible for the ongoing chaos in Syria. She added the EU has been too busy trying to overthrow Assad while Russia was actually fighting terrorists.
“You’ve done everything to bring down the government of Syria, throwing the country into a terrible civil war, while accusing Russia which is actually fighting Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL],” the right wing party leader and France’s presidential candidate said, speaking at the European Parliament plenary session in Strasbourg on Wednesday.

ISIS: New Call for Lone Wolf Attacks
ISIS has renewed its call on Muslims living in “Crusader nations” to attack non-Muslims using “widely available” weapons such as knives and blunt objects to murder their victims. The call is made in the second issue of the ISIS magazine Rumiyah (Arabic for “Rome”) which was published in English, Turkish, German, French, Indonesian, Russian, Arabic, and Uyghur.

Media Blackout: Afghan ‘Military Trainees’ Go AWOL From Bases Across Country
A local news report in Georgia reported Saturday that seven “ military trainees from Afghanistan have disappeared over the course of about two weeks.” Aaron Diamant of WSB-TV in Atlanta reported that “ two trainees disappeared from Fort Benning, one from Fort Lee, Virginia and Little Rock, Arkansas… Two weeks later, one walked away from Fort Gordon and two more from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.”
Christopher Hopper of Georgia’ s 11alive wrote that in addition the currently most recent batch of AWOL Afghans, “ more than two dozen Afghan military trainees… have gone AWOL in the last decade.” The AWOL Afghans were part of a Department of Defense training program for foreign soldiers.
In a written statement a Homeland Security spokesperson told Diamant,
“ICE’ s Homeland Security Investigations is aware of the situation, and is actively working to locate these individuals in coordination with the State Department and the Department of Defense.”

Every Fifth Baby in Germany Born to Foreign Mother Last Year
According to the German Federal Statistics office, 738,000 children were born in the country in 2015, with 590,000 born to German mothers and 148,000 to mothers with other citizenship. This is a 3-percent increase from the years between 1996 and 2014, when their share hovered between 17 and 18 percent.
According to official statistics, by far the greatest number of babies with foreign mothers — over 48,000 — were born to mothers of “other European nations,” and between 2014 and 2015, that number increased by about 9,000. Following that category were children born to mothers from Asia (25,000), then Turkey (21,500) and Africa, 13,500.
Deutsche Welle reports that 4,800 Syrian women gave birth in Germany in 2015, compared with 2,300 in 2014.
