Deutsche Bank Tells Investors Not to Worry About Its €46 Trillion in Derivatives

Having first flagged Deutsche Bank enormous derivative book for the first time back in 2013, it wasn’t until last week that JPMorgan admitted just what the biggest risk facing Deutsche Bank was. In a note by JPMorgan’s Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, the strategist warned that, “in our opinion it is not so much funding issues but rather derivatives exposures that more likely to trouble markets going forward if Deutsche Bank concerns continue. This is especially true if these concerns propagate into a confidence crisis inducing more rapid unwinding of derivative contracts.”

IMF Wants to Spend Billions on Global Trade to Reduce Populist Anger

World Finance Officials Pledge More Resources to Aid Growth … World finance leaders pledged Saturday to use more resources to try to bolster economic gains as they confront stubbornly slow growth and a rising backlash against globalization. The policy committee for the 189-nation International Monetary Fund said the world has “benefited tremendously from globalization” but that protectionism is a threat. Increasing anger over globalization dominated the annual meetings of the IMF and its sister lending agency, the World Bank. — ABC/AP

Reek of Desperation Surrounds EU Banks, Regulators Prepare for “Derivatives Clearing Crisis”

The past week’s events in Europe were dominated by the pound sterling’s spectacular flash crash to its lowest point in 31 years. As is often the case with flash crashes, we will probably never know what exactly triggered the currency to free-fall by 6% during Asian trading hours, though the most cited cause, apart from a “fat finger,” is the gathering realization that a so-called “hard” Brexit is a very real possibility. But it’s an eventuality that can be expected to play out in roughly two and a half years’ time, at the earliest, and in light of the powerful forces arrayed against it, it may never occur at all. In the meantime, something far more dangerous is happening on the other side of the English Channel: the slow-motion meltdown of the Eurozone’s banking system.

Another “Hot Mic” Snafu: Was CNN Caught on Tape Coaching Its Debate Focus Group?

While there was substantial surprise when CNN announced in its post debate poll that Hillary was the clear winner from last night’s debate, when it announced that 57% of its 537 “democrat leaning” viewers found Clinton to be the winner…

[…] another “hot mic” incident may have emerged when CNN may have accidentally caught itself coaching a member of its post-debate focus group how to respond to a question following last night’s debate.

In a video uploaded to YouTube shortly after Sunday’s debate shows CNN discussing the debate’s events with a focus group of undecided Ohio voters, CNN captures a moment from the debate in which Hillary Clinton says, “that America already is great, but we are great because we are good.” Then, as CNN cuts back to its focus group, CNN reporter Pamela Brown can apparently be heard speaking to a group participant in a hushed tone.

“America is great, because we’re good,” Brown is heard saying.

Realizing she is back on the air, Brown then asks the same participant what anti-Trump argument from Clinton impressed her most. The participant responds with a close approximation of what Brown had just said to her seconds before.

Clinton’s Foul Language: A List

Claims by Hillary Clinton that she is “offended” by Donald Trump’s lewd remarks are yet another lie-because she is on record as using the most vile, sexually-explicit, and insulting language in the most abusive manner possible.

Man in Wrong-Way Fatal Crash Faces Domestic Assault Trial

A man accused of driving the wrong way on a Vermont interstate, crashing into a car and killing five high school students, is facing trial on an unrelated domestic assault charge, prosecutors said Monday.

A police affidavit says Steven Bourgoin, 36, hit his girlfriend in the head and threatened to throw her down the stairs in May. Police say when she tried to leave with their 2-year-old child, Bourgoin got into the vehicle, drove them around and threatened to kill them. The girlfriend received custody of the child last month.

Bourgoin remained unconscious and in critical condition at a hospital Monday. Police say that after crashing into the teens’ car, he took a police cruiser and crashed into seven more cars. They say Bourgoin was injured when he was thrown from the vehicle, which went up in flames.

Prosecutors say Bourgoin is their prime suspect in the teens’ deaths, but they haven’t charged him. They did apply for an arrest warrant on charges related to his alleged use of the police cruiser.

It wasn’t immediately known if Bourgoin has an attorney. A public defender representing Bourgoin in the domestic violence case didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment…

Society Will Accept and Condone the Coming Violence

I’ve witnessed this process firsthand growing up in South Africa, just as everyday crime and violence exploded. And last week I mentioned Rodrigo Duterte, the leader of the Philippines, and his rise to power as well as his incredible popularity. I believe that, though Mr. Duterte may mean well, he risks a process where he can quickly lose control.

For those of you living elsewhere in the world my hope is that by understanding the process I’m about to describe, you’ll at the very least be able to identify the warning signs, should they arise wherever you live and understand what is taking place and why…

A weak political system causes a loss of faith in the abilities of those who are meant to “serve and protect”, and an acceptance of alternative methods gaining credence.

Citizens become frustrated with politicians whose self interest clearly overrides those of the citizens.

This is where the Philippines is at after decades of corrupt ineffective politicians who, despite promises, never delivered. In turn they voted in Duterte who promised radical and violent measures. A man of action. This rhetoric landed well with a citizenry exhausted and frustrated by a revolving door of the elite who promised much but simply ensured they got rich instead.

If any of this sounds familiar to you then you’ll understand why Donald Trump’s rhetoric resonates with the citizenry. In “Why A Politically Correct West Ensures A Trump Victory” I mentioned:

A populace, increasingly distrustful of the establishment and horrified by the consequences of the actions already taken by the ruling class, look around them in search of someone who will say out loud what they whisper to each other behind closed doors.

When citizens no longer trust the system, especially the judicial system, they see the ruling elite as part of the problem, not part of the solution. This is very dangerous as it legitimises extrajudicial vigilante violence.

When the citizens of the United States watched the Justice Department grant immunity to the guy hired by Hillary Clinton to delete the emails which she’d lied about, it’s hard not to see how one loses faith in the justice system. In a recent issue of “World Out Of Whack” we looked at another example in the US.

It’s not just the select few in the private sector who are protected by a corrupt establishment, but the establishment itself which is increasingly seen as untrustworthy…

There are multiple factors which cause a breakdown in societal trust. The combination of a weakening middle class due to financial repression by central banks with a weakening judicial system poses increasing risks in society. Not something the current clutch of central bankers seem to be even remotely aware of.

Trump Promises Special Prosecutor for Hillary

Trump: Lewdness vs Mass Murder?

The “revelation” that Donald Trump made lewd remarks about women is being treated by the controlled media as if it were the end of his campaign — as if his throwaway all-too-common lewdness is somehow worse than Hilary Clinton’s track record of promoting mass murder, illegal international wars, and the deaths of over a million Iraqis, Afghans, and Syrians.

Trump’s remarks, as disgraceful as they are, at the end of the day are just lewd jokes, and have not resulted in a single person’s death or injury.

US Judge: End Software Patents, Copyright is Sufficient

The end may be in sight for software patents — which have long been highly controversial in the tech industry — in the wake of a remarkable appeals court ruling that described such patents as a “deadweight loss on the nation’s economy” and a threat to the First Amendment’s free speech protections.

There’s so much good stuff in the actual ruling (I urge you to read the whole damn thing!) that I don’t even know where to start, middle, and end. I think this is the best part?

“It is well past time to return software to its historical dwelling place in the domain of copyright. See Benson, 409 U.S. at 72 (citing a report from a presidential commission explaining that copyright is available to protect software and that software development had “undergone substantial and satisfactory growth” even without patent protection (citations and internal quotation marks omitted)); Oracle Am., Inc. v. Google Inc., 750 F.3d 1339, 1380 (Fed. Cir. 2014) (noting that “several commentators” have “argue[d] that the complex and expensive patent system is a terrible fit for the fast-moving software industry” and that copyright provides “[a] perfectly adequate means of protecting and rewarding software developers for their ingenuity” (citations and internal quotation marks omitted)); Peter S. Menell, An Analysis of the Scope of Copyright Protection for Application Programs, 41 Stan. L. Rev. 1045, 1076 (1989) (explaining that patents were historically “not seen as a viable option for the protection of most application program code” and that many software programs “simply do not manifest sufficient novelty or nonobviousness to merit patent protection”).”

Were Muslims Partially Responsible for American Independence?

Hillary Clinton raised eyebrows with a questionable claim during Sunday’s fiery presidential debate by stating Islam was always part of American history — even since the Revolutionary War.

Norway: She Became Too Westernized — Dad’s Punishment: Rape

She now receives psychiatric help

NORWAY: In the city of Fredrikstad, a Muslim man in his forties has been detained for raping his daughter.

The daughter in her twenties had become too Westernized for his liking. She is one of those the Norwegians smile to: Well integrated and acts Norwegian. But the price she had to pay was high.

Aftenposten writes that police believe the rape “bears the mark of being a father’s punishment for her daughter living too Western”. She has also explained so, according to the police prosecutor. Both father and daughter have non-western background.

– They have been arguing prior to the rape. The father has been angry because his daughter did not follow his (Islamic) way of life, she explained in questioning, said police lawyer Anette Sogn to Fredrikstad24.

The father says he is surprised after the DNA results.

– He has acknowledged that he sat on the victim’s bed, thus trying to explain the police’s findings with indirect contact. It is for us a completely pathetic explanation, says police lawyer Anette Sogn to Fredrikstad24.

The father, who does not understand why he has been charged with rape and incest, is actually most surprised that his panicking daughter alerted the postman outside the house and went to the police.

Kuwait: Egyptian Arrested After Failed Suicide Attack on US Soldiers — Explosives Found in Truck Used in Attack

5 GIs Unhurt

KUWAIT: An Egyptian yesterday tried to ram a truck into another vehicle carrying five American soldiers in a failed suicide bombing yesterday. The interior ministry identified the attacker as Ibrahim Suleiman, born in 1988. It said he was driving a cleaning truck at the time of the attack, and suffered multiple fractures and injuries. The ministry added the five soldiers were not injured.

Security sources said that the suspect was taken to hospital under tight security. Detectives found suspicious items including an Islamic State banner, a suicide belt and explosives in the truck. Further investigations are in progress to find if the suspect has any accomplices. The interior ministry had said in an earlier press statement “the suspect might be linked to the so-called Islamic State group”.

Kuwait is a stalwart US ally following the 1991 American-led Gulf War that ended the Iraqi occupation. Police have also vowed increased security ahead of the Shiite commemoration of Ashoura this week. Two Iranians were arrested in recent days for taking “suspicious” photographs of husseiniyas. An IS-claimed suicide bombing in 2015 targeting a Shiite mosque in Kuwait City killed 27 people and wounded scores.

Kuwait: US Embassy Confirms GIs Came Under ‘Terror’ Attack — US Troops Pulled Attacker From Burning Truck

A collision between a truck driven by an Egyptian and a vehicle carrying three US soldiers in Kuwait was a “terrorist attack”, not an accident as first thought, the embassy confirmed yesterday. “US Embassy in Kuwait confirms that what at first appeared to be a routine traffic accident involving three deployed US military personnel… was in fact an attempted terrorist attack,” the mission said in a statement posted on its website. The statement said the attack took place on Thursday and that the US soldiers escaped unhurt.

The soldiers also rescued the Egyptian driver when his truck caught fire, it said. The Kuwaiti interior ministry said on Saturday that authorities arrested the Egyptian driver and found with him a handwritten note in which he had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group. It also said that the driver, identified as Ibrahim Suleiman, 28, also carried a belt and material suspected of being explosives. The ministry said the attack was on five Americans without saying they were troops.

The US embassy said it was not aware of specific, credible threats against private US citizens in Kuwait at this time. But it warned that the attack serves as a reminder to maintain a high level of vigilance, advising US citizens to review their personal security plans and remain alert. The embassy did not say where the troops were stationed, but American forces are deployed to Kuwait’s Camp Arifjan. Kuwaiti authorities announced in July they had dismantled three IS cells plotting attacks, including a suicide bombing against a Shiite mosque and against an interior ministry target. — Agencies

  1. “In other news, EU finance ministers have finally agreed on another rescue package for Greece, this one worth €1.1 billion.”

    That’ll go far……

    • Political elites of Greece were very unhappy upon hearing the sum. “But you gave €6 billions to Erdogan!” they replied angrily.

  2. On the Vatican and ETI. Edgar Mitchell exposed much about the ongoing cover-up when it came to ET. The Vatican has known about ET for a long, long time.

For instance: The ‘secrets’ of Fatima are still largely conjecture within the public arena as to what was made known at that time and what was intended to be shared, yet after nearly one hundred years, the ‘secrets’ still remain ‘secrets’.

The Vatican holds many secrets that only a select and privileged few get a hint at. Many are secrets that are thousands of years old and that could free humanity from the economic drudgery we humans have been forced to accept for millennia. Given the knowledge that has been kept from us we could once again learn how to use our spirituality to advance beyond this Earth, this prison, as we once were able to do, and without the need to prostitute our principles for material gain.

Our future as a species lies outside this solar system and we are being deliberately kept from it.

  3. Re: “Clinton ally lets 206,000 felons vote”.

If I understand this correctly, these are people who have completed their sentences. In the UK, prisoners have no vote, though the EU has tried to pressure us into changing this (hopefully this should end now), but once released, they have the same right to vote as any other citizen; to do otherwise would be to continue their punishment, and discourage them from feeling fully a part of society.
