Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/28/2016

A man carrying a knife and shouting “Allahu Akhbar” went on a rampage at a music festival in Germany, attacking a married couple and gravely wounding the wife. The husband, despite his injuries, managed to fend off the attacker until he was arrested by police. The motive for the man’s rampage remains unknown.

In other news, a would-be suicide bomber failed in his mission to blow up a church in Indonesia during Sunday services. The bomb flamed, but did not explode. The attacker was also carrying an ax, which he swung at the priest, injuring him slightly in the hand. Parishioners subdued the suspect until police arrived. The motive for the attack remains unknown, although the attacker was reportedly carrying objects bearing the logo of the Islamic State.

Central Banks Double Down on the Mistakes of 2008… Creating the Greatest Bubble in Financial History

The common consensus in the financial community today is that the Fed and other Central Banks have somehow managed to end the business cycle. The result of this is that we’ve entered a period of sustained growth (albeit low growth) that will continue in perpetuity until something magical happens and stronger growth returns.

On the surface, this argument is embarrassingly naive. And it is astounding that grown adults actually believe it.

The Fed and other global Central Banks are largely being run by academics with zero real world experience. For centuries leaders and their advisors have tried to generate perpetual growth. None have succeeded. So the idea that this current group of Central Bankers, isolated from the private sector for their entire careers, somehow understand economics better than any other group of humans in history is a ludicrous.

We don’t even have to look back far to see where this ends. A mere 15 years ago, the financial world believed that Alan Greenspan was an economic genius who had brought the world to an era of the New Economy in which we saw non-stop productivity gains.

Today we laugh at the ignorance of this. Not content to have created the since largest stock bubble in financial history, Greenspan doubled down on his foolishness by creating a housing bubble that was three standard deviations away from historic norms.

Global Central Bankers, Stuck at Zero, Unite in Plea for Help From Governments

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. (Reuters) — Central bankers in charge of the vast bulk of the world’s economy delved deep into the weeds of money markets and interest rates over a three-day conference here, and emerged with a common plea to their colleagues in the rest of government: please help.

Mired in a world of low growth, low inflation and low interest rates, officials from the Federal Reserve, Bank of Japan and the European Central Bank said their efforts to bolster the economy through monetary policy may falter unless elected leaders stepped forward with bold measures. These would range from immigration reform in Japan to structural changes to boost productivity and growth in the U.S. and Europe.

Without that, they said, it would be hard to convince markets and households that things will get better, and encourage the shift in mood many economists feel are needed to improve economic performance worldwide. During a Saturday session at the symposium, such a slump in expectations about inflation and about other aspects of the economy was cited as a central problem complicating central banks’ efforts to reach inflation targets and dimming prospects in Japan and Europe.

ECB executive board member Benoit Coeure said the bank was working hard to prevent public expectations about inflation from becoming entrenched “on either side” — neither too high nor too low. But the slow pace of economic reform among European governments, he said, was damaging the effort.

“What we have seen since 2007 is half-baked and half-hearted structural reforms. That does not help supporting inflation expectations. That has helped entertain disinflationary expectations,” Coeure said.

Bank of Japan governor Haruhiko Kuroda said he is in regular talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe about opening Japan to more immigration and other politically sensitive changes needed to improve potential growth, currently estimated at only around one percent annually.

Fed Chair Janet Yellen devoted the final page of her keynote talk on possible monetary policy reforms to a list of fiscal and structural policies she feels would help the economy.

Fiscal policy was not on the formal agenda for the conference, but it was a steady part of the dialogue as policymakers thought through policies for a post-crisis world. One of the central worries is that households and businesses have become so cautious and set in their outlooks — expecting little growth and little inflation — that they do not respond in expected ways to the efforts central banks have made.

That has included flooding the financial system with cash, and voicing a steady commitment to their inflation targets in an effort to make people believe they will be met.

Harvard Professor Creates Blueprint for Ending Cash in US; Calls for Immediate Phasing Out of $20 Bills

When does he want to launch his program to eliminate $20 bills and up?

“ I believe the time has come,” he writes.

The elimination of everything but very low denomination bills is one of the most significant statist power grabs in United States history. It provides the state with unheard of methods of tracking and control.

It is an evil plan that must be objected to loudly and forcefully. This is a battle that must be joined. The anti-cash advocates must be defeated.

All the Ways Your Wi-Fi Router Can Spy on You

City dwellers spend nearly every moment of every day awash in Wi-Fi signals. Homes, streets, businesses, and office buildings are constantly blasting wireless signals every which way for the benefit of nearby phones, tablets, laptops, wearables, and other connected paraphernalia.

When those devices connect to a router, they send requests for information-a weather forecast, the latest sports scores, a news article-and, in turn, receive that data, all over the air. As it communicates with the devices, the router is also gathering information about how its signals are traveling through the air, and whether they’re being disrupted by obstacles or interference. With that data, the router can make small adjustments to communicate more reliably with the devices it’s connected to.

But it can also be used to monitor humans-and in surprisingly detailed ways.

As people move through a space with a Wi-Fi signal, their bodies affect it, absorbing some waves and reflecting others in various directions. By analyzing the exact ways that a Wi-Fi signal is altered when a human moves through it, researchers can “see” what someone writes with their finger in the air, identify a particular person by the way that they walk, and even read a person’s lips with startling accuracy-in some cases even if a router isn’t in the same room as the person performing the actions.

Several recent experiments have focused on using Wi-Fi signals to identify people, either based on their body shape or the specific way they tend to move. Earlier this month, a group of computer-science researchers at Northwestern Polytechnical University in China posted a paper to an online archive of scientific research, detailing a system that can accurately identify humans as they walk through a door nine times out of ten.

Exclusive — Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn: Obama: Hillary Ignored Intelligence They Did Not Like About Middle East, Only Wanted ‘Happy Talk’

Later in the interview, Flynn was even more specific, calling out Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for not wanting to hear all the facts about what was happening in the Middle East—only some of them.

“There’s a narrative that the President and his team, including Hillary Clinton, wanted to hear—instead of having the tough news or the bad news if you will that they needed to hear,” Flynn said. “Now, there’s a big difference. And the one thing about intelligence is we should stand for truth to power—meaning we should always say what we believe, and lay the facts out, lay the tough right facts out and then you let the policymakers make the decisions that they have to make. What has happened in the last 10 years, frankly in the last 8 years, is we have seen a level of dishonesty coming out of both the policy and the decision making structure with the American people.”

Govt Exposed for Forcing Foster Kids, Even Toddlers to Take Dangerous Psychotropic Drugs

After years of growing concern, the California state auditor has produced a damning report describing how the state’s 79,000 foster children are being drugged with psychotropic medications at abnormally high rates. The report found that nearly 12 percent of kids in California’s child welfare system were prescribed psychotropic medications — including antipsychotics, antidepressants and mood stabilizers — during 2014-2015. This compares to a rate of 4 to 10 percent for non-foster kids.

Shocking Video Shows Cops Kick in Door, Assault, & Pepper Spray Innocent 84yo Grandma

Muskogee, OK — Last week, an innocent 84-year-old grandma was attacked by police, pepper sprayed, arrested, and hospitalized after officers chased her son during a traffic stop. On Friday, the graphic body camera video of that attack was released showing the horrid and outright insane response to her son rolling a stop sign.

Police were after the victim’s son, who they say refused to stop and ran into her home instead. When officers showed up, according to Smith and the body camera video, they kicked in her door and as she got up to see who was there — – she was met with a face full of chemical agent.

“Turn around or I’ll spray you!” screams the cop just before dousing this innocent elderly woman in the face with the painful spray. Smith then falls to the ground in agony.

The body cam footage then shows police shoot her son with a taser because they said he refused to come out. With his hands in the air and walking toward police, Smith’s son was tased and fell to the ground.

All of this over a stop sign.

Wind Turbines, Rusting Giants of the Environmental Watermelon Religion

None of them have produced, by the time they were taken out of service, the amount of energy that was used to manufacture the giant turbine in the first place.

If these wind farms could have helped the citizens’ pockets, it would have been terrific. For starters, they had to pay higher electricity rates and some lost their coal-mining jobs as a result of mines closing around the country due to onerous EPA regulations. The other damaging side effects were felt later.

When I stopped in Somerset a few days ago, the turbine blades did not seem to move at all. An educational display was still posted outside the turnpike service plaza, with all the potential savings for the Earth from harnessing wind power. No mention of the huge costs associated with such a pie in the sky watermelon dream.

When the wind turbines break down, catch fire, rust out, or their blades disintegrate, they are abandoned by the thousands, ugly giants dotting the pristine landscape. They are seldom removed because the job would be too expensive. None of them have produced, by the time they were taken out of service, the amount of energy that was used to manufacture the giant turbine in the first place. And, the part that environmentalists do not like to talk about, is that all the steel, spare parts, transportation, assembly, maintenance, and slow wind down times were provided by fossil fuel-generated power.

As the American Elephants said, wind turbines are “the towering symbols of a fading religion” and… “Without government subsidy, they are unaffordable. With governments facing financial troubles, the subsidies are unaffordable. It was a nice dream, a very expensive dream, but it didn’t work.”

5th Century Coin Now “Hate”

In another example of political correctness gone mad, an eBay auction of a 5th Century Thracian coin with a swastika has been halted on the grounds that it was “hateful or discriminatory.” The coin, being sold by one of Europe’s largest coin auction houses, was minted in the city of Apollonia Pontica, located in present-day Bulgaria. According to an article in the Antiques Trade Gazette, eBay cancelled the auction on the grounds that the listing was “hateful or discriminatory.” Munich-based auctioneer Numismatik Lanz listed the coin on the site earlier this month but was told it was classed among objects that “glorify or trivialize National Socialism” which eBay prohibits on its German site.

Fistfights With Muslims in Europe

Julian Langness writes about European politics, 4th Generation Warfare, identity, masculinity, and society. He regularly contributes articles to a range of websites including Traditional Right and Counter-Currents, and is also the editor of EuropeanCivilWar.com. Langness is the author of Fistfights With Muslims In Europe: One Man’s Journey Through Modernity.

In this discussion, Julian takes us through events during his pilgrimage to his ancestral lands in Norway and extended encounters in Europe over a five-year period in the early 2000s that inspired him to pen his first book, Fistfights With Muslims. These travels led to Julian’s awakening to what it means to be a man in the modern Western world and the dichotomy of Islam and Middle-Eastern culture. We discuss the fact that violence has been largely bred out of Western culture in this age of prosperity where feminized, cultural Marxists males rule, yet the natural impulse for danger and existential challenge remains in the hearts and minds of the majority of ordinary men.

Germany Stabbing: Woman Fighting for Life After Knifeman Screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ Attacked Couple at German Music Festival

Cops arrest 26-year-old man who slashed couple with picnic knife as seriously injured hubby overpowered him

A MAN screamed “Allahu Akbar” as he attacked a couple with their own picnic knife at a German music festival.

A 66-year-old woman, believed to be the other victim’s wife, is fighting for her life.

The couple were enjoying a picnic at a music festival by a canal in Oberhausen, Germany, when they were attacked.

Her 57-year-old husband was seriously injured but managed to overpower the attacker who was then arrested by police officers in Oberhausen.

The attack took place just after 7pm on Saturday evening near Stadion Niederrhein,

Police officers say the suspect is a 26-year-old from Duisburg, Germany.

Local media said the man went on a “rampage” at the canal side music event.

He harassed several daytrippers before snatching a knife from the floor where the victims were enjoying a riverbank picnic.

Half of Germans Against Merkel Serving Fourth Term: Poll

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s domestic popularity has declined, a poll showed on Sunday, with 50 percent of Germans against her serving a fourth term in office after a federal election next year.

Support for Merkel has weakened after a string of violent attacks on civilians in July, three of which were carried out by asylum seekers. Of those, two were claimed by Islamic State.

This has raised opposition to Merkel’s open-door migrant policy, which allowed hundreds of thousands from the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere into Germany last year.

Look to the Netherlands for Clinton Foundation’s Ongoing Source of Cash

Little wonder that Bill Clinton, on the Postcode Lottery board of directors to this very day, crowed back in 2009: “The (Postcode) lottery is the best thing I’ve seen”.

How do you turn the tap off on the “best thing ever seen”?

“The National Postcode Lottery, the second largest lottery in The Netherlands, has donated over $25 million dollars to the Clinton Foundation.” (The Dutch Government, the Clinton Foundation and the Postcode Lottery, Aug. 13, 2016)

And that’s just the amount that shows on Foundation books.

In essence, the Clintons have won the biggest lottery of all time.

In coming up with a fail-proof scheme — one that uses million s of unsuspecting lottery ticket buyers in a market now going worldwide — the Clintons, you might say, won the lottery and are running Western society into the ground with it.

Their lottery booty will not just make them personally rich, it guarantees a Democrat presidency in 2016 and for long into the foreseeable future.

“Australia, Norway and Saudi-Arabia each gave the Foundation between $10 and 25 million dollars. They are followed by The Netherlands and Kuwait, with each $5 to 10 million in donations, and subsequently by Qatar, Brunei and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with each between $1 and 5 million dollars worth of gifts.” (The Dutch Government, the Clinton Foundation and the Postcode Lottery)

Cash gifts from foreign countries are mostly one-offs. Postcode Lotteries are ongoing.

“For more than two decades, the Dutch have been running the Postcode Lottery, which supports charities in the Netherlands and abroad. (The Dutch Government, the Clinton Foundation and the Postcode Lottery)

“Since its launch in 1989, it has grown to become the third largest charitable organization worldwide.”

Swedish Cops Overwhelmed by Attacks From Afghanis

‘It used to be a super peaceful country where nothing of this sort used to happen’

Children are being sexually exploited. Hordes of men are sexually assaulting women. Cars are being set on fire while hand grenades are lobbed at the police.

No, this is not a Third World country, nor is it an American inner-city neighborhood. This is Sweden, the formerly peaceful Nordic land of hardworking Lutherans.

But the country is not as peaceful as it once was. Last New Year’s Eve, gangs of young men, described as “unaccompanied from Afghanistan,” surrounded and molested women in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. The police and media managed to keep the story under wraps for 11 days afterward.

The reality is sexual assaults have become common in Sweden. At the music festival We Are Sthlm last week, there were seven reports of sexual harassment on the first day alone.

Terrorism, Brexit Pose Daunting Challenges for EU Summit

BRUSSELS — As the 27-member European Union wakes up from its long August recess next week, thoughts are turning to what will be a critical quarter for the bloc as it makes preparations for divorce talks with Britain as well as strengthening internal and external borders, boosting economic growth and providing jobs for its young people.

The bloc will be holding a crucial meeting in Bratislava on September 16 in a bid to forge a common position on the EU’s future and hash out pressing issues.

The sharp rise in terrorism, the failure to protect external EU borders and the current failure of the European project to deliver sufficient jobs and prosperity to the coming generation are the daunting challenges that face Europe’s leaders.

Muslims Horrified at Jerusalem Cable-Car Plan

WASHINGTON — You might think a plan to build a cable-car system in the Israeli capital city of Jerusalem to increase tourism wouldn’t be politically explosive.

But you would be wrong.

Al Qaeda in Syria Changed Its Name and Now the US is Arming Them

Though many scoffed when the Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria, Jabhat Al-Nusra, rebranded itself Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham, that cosmetic change was apparently enough to convince the US government to start sending them arms.

In the recent push by rebels in the city of Aleppo, Al-Nusra/Al-Sham took a leading role and was reportedly among the rebels groups who received US weapons. Those weapons will first be used to kill Syrian government troops and after that, well, who knows?

Now, in addition to “cleansing” ISIS, Prime Minister Yildirim insists Turkey’s goal is to “cleanse” the whole border of all “militants,” which presumably doesn’t include the Islamist rebels they just got done installing in Jarabulus, as a way to keep refugees from trying to enter from Syria.

Refugees Boosting the TB Rate in Nebraska…

Hillary wants to Import 1.4 million Muslim Refugees her first year in office.

I recently traveled through Nebraska to meet citizens and see some of the meatpacking towns under stress from large numbers of refugees who have been placed there mostly by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Church World Service, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and the Ethiopian Community Development Council to supply multinational meat giants with a steady supply of cheap immigrant labor.

In addition to the economic, social and cultural strains on the communities there it seems that now worries about the increased rate of active Tuberculosis will be concerning residents.

Here is Michael Patrick Leahy today at Breitbart with another of his investigative reports on Tuberculosis in American towns. Add the cost of treating sick people to the burgeoning cost of refugee resettlement.

Soros’s Campaign of Global Chaos

Major media outlets in the US have ignored the leak of thousands of emails from billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundation by the activist hacker group DCLeaks. The OSF is the vehicle through which Soros has funneled billions of dollars over the past two decades to non-profit organizations in the US and throughout the world…

The first thing that we see is the megalomaniacal nature of Soros’s philanthropic project. No corner of the globe is unaffected by his efforts. No policy area is left untouched.

On the surface, the vast number of groups and people he supports seem unrelated. After all, what does climate change have to do with illegal African immigration to Israel? What does Occupy Wall Street have to do with Greek immigration policies?

But the fact is that Soros-backed projects share basic common attributes.

They all work to weaken the ability of national and local authorities in Western democracies to uphold the laws and values of their nations and communities. They all work to hinder free markets, whether those markets are financial, ideological, political or scientific. They do so in the name of democracy, human rights, economic, racial and sexual justice and other lofty terms.

In other words, their goal is to subvert western democracies and make it impossible for governments to maintain order or for societies to retain their unique identities and values.

  1. RT news has just reported that the German military has been infiltrated with 60 Islamists.Merkel has done wonders for Germany,i think she may win the nobel peace prize.

    • She is all so up for a major award for her contribution to the furthering the cause of psychiatry whose practitioners have never been so busy since the Muslims have arrived in the EU in such numbers!

      • Were they ethnic Germans or illegal non German speaking Chinese Uyghurs? Male, female or a little of both? Fun in the bun?

    • Hold onto your hat, an article coming down in this site from an expert in the Bundeswehr problems, he claims 60% of the army soldiers is actually a Muslim! This translates to around 60,000 soldiers. How many of them really ready for pull the trigger for Allah… you can guess!

      • Evidence please, CrossWare; sounds most unlikely, even if some were jihadist infiltrators.

        • I imagine at the present Euro rate of abstention from comprehension the evidence when it leaps into the native unconsciousness will be more than overwhelming.

        • I do not want to steal the thunder from Baron, I already sent him the translation he just legging behind a bit. It is an interview with a guy called Georg Spöttle. Please wait and look out for when the article will be published. Until here is a short bio of him:

Georg Spöttle was born from a German mother and a Hungarian father (he is using his mother’s name). Lived in both in Germany and Hungary. He joined the German army (Bundeswehr) at age 20, specialized in experimental weaponry. Following his personal interest about the Middle East he learned Arabic and visited many countries in the region. Recruited by German military intelligence service by his extensive knowledge (he also speaks 4 different languages), spent 10 years in service then he is joined the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalalamt) (equivalent of NSA and MI5). Spent another 10 years in service visited many Middle Eastern countries (Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, …) as operative officer. Since he is retired from active service and now living in Hungary working as a security/anti-terrorist expert with very good connections to the office of Prime Minister Viktor Orban. He also has extensive knowledge about the German military and great connections to the European intelligence community.
