The mayor of Cannes has banned the wearing of burkinis on his city’s beaches. He says the Muslim swimwear is a violation of morals and secularism. Human rights groups in France say the mayor has unfairly stigmatized Muslim women, and that his decision plays right into the hands of the Islamic State.
In other news, Bulgaria is concerned that migrants who are being thwarted in their efforts to get into Europe via more westward routes will use the Bulgarian route instead. As a result, the government is building a twenty-mile wall along its border with Turkey.

2016: The Election Bigger Than Any Candidate
The 2016 election is not an election about Hillary Clinton, the first criminal Marxist female candidate, or Donald Trump, the bombastic business mogul outsider. It is an election about much more than any candidate, party or partisan interest item.
2016 is the final tipping point for America.
The point at which America votes itself off the cliff, into a Marxist global abyss run by criminals and tyrants, or votes to inch its way back from the cliff, buying itself a little time, not for Trump to “Make America Great Again,” a worthy cause which no one person is capable of achieving alone, but for Americans to make America great again.
It really has very little if anything to do with Donald Trump. Love him, hate him, it makes no difference.
Trump is a human being… He is one man. He is less than perfect, just like every other human being. He may fully intend to “Make America Great Again,” and I hope he is sincere in that endeavor. He is a very capable human being, as proven by his personal track record of achievements. But he is still just one imperfect man, alone, incapable of the lofty goal he has set as the foundation of his campaign.

Arizona Mayor Refuses Invitation to Meeting Because it Was Written in English and Spanish
An Arizona mayor has refused an invitation to a meeting of U.S. and Mexican border city mayors because it was written in both English and Spanish.
According to El Paso Times, the invitation is for an Aug. 24 meeting of the U.S.-Mexico Border Mayors Association in Laredo, Texas.
“I will NOT attend a function that is sent to me in Spanish/Mexican. One nation means one language and I am insulted by the division caused by language,” Huachuca City Mayor Ken Taylor said in an email Wednesday to John Cook, executive director of the U.S.-Mexico Border Mayors Association.

Clinton Releases Tax Returns, Presses Trump to Follow Suit
Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine released their 2015 tax returns on Friday — a move meant to put pressure on Donald Trump to disclose his own returns.
According to the campaign release, Bill and Hillary Clinton paid $3.6 million in taxes on an adjusted gross income of $10.6 million.
The filings show that the Clintons paid a federal tax rate of 34.2 percent in 2015. The bulk of their income — more than $6 million — came from speaking fees for appearances made largely before Hillary Clinton launched her campaign in April 2015.

Former Secret Service Agent Destroys CNN Charade That Trump Threatened Violence Against Hillary
I can’t emphasize this enough, so I’m going to start with it. The entire media/political complex has been knowingly lying to you for the past several days. It’s a game they all play, and they all know they’re playing it. A Republican candidate says something that can be portrayed as horrific. It’s not, and they know it’s not, but that’s completely irrelevant. The only thing that matters is that they can sell it that way, and any protest by the candidate is brushed off as an obvious self-serving lie. Hacker Publishes List of Cell Phone Numbers, Private E-Mails for Most House Democrats
After disappearing for a couple of weeks, the hacker “Guccifer 2.0” returned late this afternoon to provide a new headache for Democrats.
In a post to his WordPress blog, the vandal—who previously provided nearly 20,000 Democratic National Committee e-mails to Wikileaks—uploaded an Excel file that includes the cell phone numbers and private e-mail addresses of nearly every Democratic member of the House of Representatives.
The Excel file also includes similar contact information for hundreds of congressional staff members (chiefs of staff, press secretaries, legislative directors, schedulers) and campaign personnel.
In announcing the leak of the document, “Guccifer 2.0” reported that the spreadsheet was stolen during a hack of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “As you see I wasn’t wasting my time! It was even easier than in the case of the DNC breach,” the hacker wrote.
Along with the Excel file, “Guccifer 2.0” also uploaded documents that included the account names and passwords for an assortment of subscription services used by
the DCCC, from Lexis-Nexis to Glenn Beck’s web site (password: nutbag).
While “Guccifer 2.0” claims to be Romanian and an “unknown hacker with a laptop,” cybersecurity investigators have concluded that he is part of a Russian intelligence operation that has targeted the DNC, Hillary Clinton campaign staffers, and assorted Republicans, including John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Michele Bachmann.
In a message today, the hacker branded the U.S. presidential elections a “farce” that is “being settled behind the scenes as it was with Bernie Sanders.” He added, “I wonder what happened to the true democracy, to the equal opportunities, the things we love the United States for. The big money bags are fighting for power today. They are lying constantly and don’t keep their word. The MSM are producing tons of propaganda hiding the real stuff behind it. But I do believe that people have right to know what’s going on inside the election process in fact.”
“Guccifer 2.0” also invited reporters to contact him via Twitter direct message: “Dear journalists, you may send me a DM if you’re interested in exclusive materials from the DCCC, which I have plenty of.”…

Hillary Says Obama “Left Behind” White America
On a campaign swing through the “Rust Belt” of Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton let the truth slip out, saying that the white working class had been “left out and left behind.”
Mrs. Clinton was appearing in Cambria County, which is more than 94 percent white.
Many cities in Pennsylvania are dying coal towns that are fast becoming what a local TV station calls “coal region ghost towns.”
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, has called for more coal miners to be thrown out of their jobs. “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,” she said at a town hall in West Virginia in March.
When he ran for president, Barack Obama promised to bankrupt coal plants.
This is a promise that he has followed through on. In 2012, Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers, an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, said then-EPA administrator Lisa P. Jackson used executive branch rules and regulations to destroy the coal industry. “The Navy SEALs shot Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan and Lisa Jackson shot us in Washington,” Roberts said.

SPLC Chief Richard Cohen Named in Bar Association Complaint

‘We Want the Cash’: DEA Seizes Millions From Travelers, Bribes Transit Employees

Belgium: Police Stations Close, Fearing Attacks
A number of police stations that don’t have security gates have closed their doors to the public after two officers were attacked in Charleroi by a machete-wielding Islamist earlier this month.
As a result of the attack, for which Islamic State claimed responsibility, all but one police station in the Hesbaye area have closed their doors to the public.
RTL reported that seven out of nine of the zone’s police stations are now inaccessible to the public. Jean-Marie Debroux, commanding officer of the policing area, said he and his colleagues made the decision to shut the station after hearing about the attack in Charleroi.

French Schools Will Teach 14-Year-Olds How to Survive Terrorist Attacks

Germany ‘Was Warned About Ansbach Suicide Bomber’
Germany was warned in advance that a Syrian who blew himself up last month might carry out a “spectacular” suicide attempt if it tried to deport him, BBC Newsnight has learned.
Mohammed Daleel was due to be deported when he detonated a bomb in the Bavarian town of Ansbach on 24 July.
Before the bombing, Mohammed Daleel left a message pledging allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the so-called Islamic State.
The attacker tried to get into an open-air concert attended by 2,500 people, but was stopped by a security guard. Instead he detonated a rucksack filled with explosives in a local beer garden, killing himself and wounding 15 others.

Germany: New Far-Right Group Comes Under Gaze of State Spies
The far-right Identitarian Movement is growing in popularity in Germany to the extent that the main federal intelligence agency has started watching them.
Up until this point, the movement, which originated in France and has been present in Germany since 2012, had been observed by spy agencies at the state level.
“We are seeing in the Identitarian Movement indications of efforts to undercut the democratic order,” said Hans-Georg Maaßen, head of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution — Germany’s domestic security agency.
“Immigrants with Muslim backgrounds or people from the Middle East are being slandered by them in the most extreme fashion. Therefore we are also surveilling this movement,” the spy chief stated.

UK Govt Report: Massive Voter Fraud in Muslim Areas, No Challenge Because of ‘Political Correctness’

UK: Evidence of Standing Stones Found at Durrington Walls
BBC News reports that the excavation of two possible features at Durrington Walls has failed to uncover evidence of a stone “Superhenge.” A survey conducted last year with ground-penetrating radar detected underground anomalies thought to represent more than 100 buried stones lying on their sides. But the excavation team, led by National Trust archaeologist Nicola Snashall, uncovered two pits for wooden posts. “They have got ramps at the sides to lower posts into,” Snashall said. She thinks a timber monument may have been raised at the site, which is located about two miles away from Stonehenge, when the Neolithic settlement there went out of use. The timbers were eventually removed. “The top was then filled in with chalk rubble and then the giant henge bank was raised over the top,” she explained.

Why Are Burkinis Banned From Cannes Beaches?
Mayor of the French coastal city Cannes has banned burkinis from the beaches. The full body suits — originally designed for Muslim women to wear to the beach that still cover them from head to toe — were banned from beaches for fear of “disrupting public order,” according Mayor David Lisnard.
Any person entering the Cannes beaches wearing the apparel could be fined for £33 (or $43), according to BBC. The new rule took effect this month.
BBC reported that mayor Lisnard issued a statement outlining that the burkinis were “improper” and challenged “good morals and secularism,” in light of the recent terrorists attacks in France carried out by Islamic extremists.
“Access to beaches and for swimming is banned to any person wearing improper clothes that are not respectful of good morals and secularism,” Lisnard stated.
Lisnard did add that the cross and Jewish skullcap, or kippah, would be permitted on the French beaches, Time reported.
“Beachwear which ostensibly displays religious affiliation, when France and places of worship are currently the target of terrorist attacks, is liable to create risks of disrupting public order,” he added…

Caroline Glick: Counting the Palestinians
In a surprise move last month, Hamas announced it will be participating in the Palestinian municipal elections in October. The Palestinian Authority’s Fatah leadership greeted Hamas’s announcement with deep and understandable anxiety. Hamas is expected to win control over a significant number, perhaps even a majority of municipal and local governments in Judea and Samaria.
PA leader Mahmoud Abbas (whose own fiveyear term in office ended six years ago) and his Fatah comrades aren’t the only ones worried. Last week, Yediot Aharonot’s military commentator, Alex Fishman, reported that the IDF’s senior leadership is also deeply concerned.
According to Fishman, in recent weeks Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has held a series of senior-level discussions, initially convened to discuss long-term Israeli strategic options in Judea and Samaria. Due to the IDF’s concerns over the elections, those discussions quickly devolved into a more limited discussion of how to prevent a Hamas electoral victory.
Fishman reported that the top generals have convinced Liberman, who until now supported octogenarian Abbas’s swift retirement, that “it is Israel’s interest not only for Abu Mazen [Abbas] to remain in power, but to empower him still further.”…

At Least 4 Dead, Dozens Wounded After Coordinated Bombings Hit Thailand Resort Areas
Coordinated explosions targeting some of Thailand’s most popular resort cities and beach towns killed at least four people and wounded dozens more. Police said Friday that 10 foreigners were injured in the violence, some of the worst here since the military seized power in a coup two years ago.
It was not clear who was behind the attacks Thursday and Friday, but police ruled out links to international terrorism or a low-level insurgency in the country’s Islamic south.
The explosions all occurred south of Bangkok and several of the blasts — including one on Patong beach in the tourist town of Phuket, three in the seaside resort city of Hua Hin — appeared designed to strike the tourism industry.

ISIS Leader in Afghanistan and Pakistan Killed by US Drone, Pentagon Says
The leader of the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group in Afghanistan and Pakistan was killed by a U.S. drone last month, a U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News Friday.
Pentagon spokesman Gordon Trowbridge said that Hafiz Saeed Khan died July 26 from an airstrike in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan.
“Khan was known to directly participate in attacks against U.S. and coalition forces, and the actions of his network terrorized Afghans, especially in Nangarhar,” Trowbridge said.

Thailand Tourism: Arrests Made Over Bomb Attacks in Hua Hin Resort
Police in the Thai resort of Hua Hin have arrested two men after bomb attacks there and across the country left four people dead.
No further details were given of the detentions in the town, where two people were killed in explosions over the space of 24 hours.
Phuket, a top tourist destination, was also targeted in the attacks.
No group has said it carried out the attacks but suspicion is likely to fall on Islamist separatists.
At least 10 foreigners were wounded in the attacks: three Germans, three Italians, an Austrian and three Dutch nationals.

Australian Official Rejects Criticisms of China Investor Ban
Australia’s treasurer on Friday rejected accusations that the true reason his government plans to ban Chinese bidders from leasing a Sydney electricity grid is to appease influential lawmakers with xenophobic views.

Fearing New Migrant Invasion From Turkey, Bulgaria Builds Massive Border Wall
As Turkish President Erdogan has threatened Europe with releasing as many as 3 million new migrants, Bulgaria has stepped up its plans of adding a 20-mile-long wall along its border with Greece and Turkey.
Bulgarian authorities have expressed concerns that the closing of Macedonia’s border with Greece might drive migrants to enter the EU en masse through Bulgaria, if Erdogan carries out his threats.

Number of Migrants Arriving in Italy Rises 12 Pct in July

With his arm around his teenage fiancee, this is the Syrian asylum seeker pictured days before his arrest accused of plotting to blow up a football stadium full of fans in Germany.
Khaled H was arrested last Friday when heavily armed SEK police commandos stormed the apartment of his 15-year-old fiancee’s parents in the the town of Mutterstadt.
It is believed the 24-year-old left Syria last April and claimed asylum in Germany having travelled through Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria.

LGBTs vs 1st Amendment: The Fight for Religious Freedom Ratchets
Tread carefully, America. The skirmishes around the nation centered on rights for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders are not really about rights for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders.
They’re about the decimation of the First Amendment and the destruction of traditional family. And the latest local battle to drive a wedge in the national norm is in Utah, where 25 groups dedicated to advancing the LGBT rights’ movement have signed on to a letter urging the Big 12, which is considering a team expansion, to turn a blind eye on Brigham Young University.
Of the Mormon school, the coalition wrote: “[BYU] actively and openly discriminates against its LGBT students and staff. In fact, through its policies, BYU is very clear about its intent to discriminate against openly LGBT students, with sanctions that can include suspension or dismissal for being openly LGBT or in a same-sex relationship. … Given BYU’s homophobic, biphobic and transpphobic policies and practices, BYU should not be rewarded with Big 12 membership.”
But that’s typical special interest-driven bunk.
BYU, a private facility in Provo that’s owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, does in fact have policies regarding homosexual relations. It also has them — and curious, but the coalition’s letter doesn’t speak to this — for heterosexuals. In fact, the school’s honor code, which speaks to the need of students and staff to “demonstrate in daily living on and off-campus those moral virtues encompassed in the gospel of Jesus Christ,” is specific in its expectations for everybody who attends. It requires all BYUers to “be honest,” to live a chaste and virtuous life,” and to “participate regularly in church services.” It doesn’t even allow them to swear — or drink coffee or caffeinated tea.
It’s in the context of discussing the do’s and don’ts of proper BYUer behaviors that homosexuality is brought up, in a special section that makes clear: “Homosexual behavior is inappropriate.”
But before cracking the “see, I told you so” whip wielded by the rabidly pro-LGBT rights’ crowd, read a little bit more. Simply professing same-sex attraction is not a code violation.

There’s Something Weird Going on Beyond Neptune

Past Neptune, in the outer solar system, astronomers have recently discovered a new mystery object orbiting the sun on a plane nearly perpendicular to the rest of the planets. Adding to the weirdness, the trans-Neptunian object, which has been nicknamed “Niku,” is also spinning around the sun backwards, in the opposite direction of the rest of the planets. So far, astronomers have little idea what could cause such abnormal celestial behavior.
Planetary systems are defined by the flat plane of dust and gas that forms around a star. Thanks to angular momentum, all of the objects circle around the sun in the same direction. But as the astronomers who discovered Niku using the Pan-STARRS telescope on Haleakala, Maui noticed, the object is currently above the plane of the solar system and moving upwards. That means some other force must have acted upon the object in order to set it on this path.
