Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/10/2016

A troubled young man who had declared his support for the Islamic State and planned a major suicide attack was shot to death in a residence in the town of Strathroy, Ontario during a raid by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The incident had nothing to do with Islam. Experts believe that Aaron Driver, 23, was mentally ill, had been bullied in school, and was radicalized suddenly on the Internet. OK, so I made all those up — the only expert is me — but still…

And we haven’t heard Mr. Driver’s other name yet, his jihad name, the one he took after he reverted to Islam. It will be a long time before the Canadian media let that one escape.

In other news, the train station nearest Disneyland Paris had to be shut down and cordoned off after a suspicious package was found in it.

Deutsche Bank Unexpectedly Found to Have Massive Capital Gap, Larger Than Its Entire Market Cap

After the ECB concluded its latest annual stress test, which as expected found no problems with Europe’s largest banks instead scapegoating Italy’s well-known troubled banks in results that were widely discredited by the market, yesterday in an unexpected outcome, German economic research institute ZEW found that Germany’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank, had the highest potential capital shortfall, as much as €19 billion in a study of 51 European banks using U.S. Federal Reserve stress test methods. The capital gap is greater than DB’s entire market cap.

Eurozone on the Brink: Germany Set to be Plunged Into Economic Chaos, Expert Warns

GERMANY’S economy could be plunged into chaos following Britain’s decision to quit the European Union (EU), experts have said.

The German Institute for Economic Research believes the after-shock of June’s momentous Brexit vote could be felt in Berlin and beyond for years to come.

Germany’s economy will be affected more than other Eurozone countries due to its reliance on exports, according to staggering new research by the group.

A spokesman said: “Even after two years, the gross domestic product will still be below the level it would have been without the shock of this uncertainty.”

Bungling Microsoft Singlehandedly Proves That Golden Backdoor Keys Are a Terrible Idea

Redmond races to revoke Secure Boot debug policy

Microsoft leaked the golden keys that unlock Windows-powered tablets, phones and other devices sealed by Secure Boot — and is now scrambling to undo the blunder.

These skeleton keys can be used to install non-Redmond operating systems on locked-down computers. In other words, on devices that do not allow you to disable Secure Boot even if you have administrator rights — such as ARM-based Windows RT tablets — it is now possible to sidestep this block and run, say, GNU/Linux or Android.

What’s more, it is believed it will be impossible for Microsoft to fully revoke the leaked keys.

And perhaps most importantly: it is a reminder that demands by politicians and crimefighters for special keys, which can be used by investigators to unlock devices in criminal cases, will inevitably jeopardize the security of everyone.

Microsoft’s misstep was uncovered by two researchers, MY123 and Slipstream, who documented their findings here in a demoscene-themed writeup published on Tuesday. Slip believes Microsoft will find it impossible to undo its leak.

Clinton Says Trump Incited Violence With ‘Second Amendment’ Remarks

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has said Donald Trump incited violence when he said gun rights supporters could stop her from winning.

Speaking at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs Clinton said “words can have tremendous consequences.”

Mr Trump sparked backlash after suggesting “Second Amendment people,” or gun owners, could take action against her.

Mrs Clinton also said Mr Trump did not have the temperament to be president.

Communist Party Rallies Behind Hillary Clinton

WASHINGTON — The Communist Party USA may not control many actual votes, but what they lack in support is made up for in enthusiasm.

Exaggeration? Judge for yourself.

Here are excerpts from the editorial produced as part of that coverage by the team credentialed to cover the convention by the Democratic Party.

Emails Reveal Hillary’s Shocking Pay-for-Play Scheme

Hillary Clinton put the State Department up for sale, with top aides pulling strings and doing favors for fat-cat donors to the Clinton Foundation — including a shady billionaire, according to smoking-gun emails released Tuesday.

The stunning revelations include how wealthy contributors seeking influence or prestigious government gigs could fork over piles of cash to get access to Clinton’s inner circle, including top aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills.

In an April 2009 message to Abedin and Mills, Doug Band, who was overseeing the Clinton Foundation at the time, urgently asked for a meeting between a top US official and Gilbert Chagoury — a major donor to the Clinton family charity.

In case there was any doubt about who he’d be backing in the 2016 election, he wants to make sure you know that he’s supporting Hillary Clinton — a woman he says “is good for United States.” Why, he even attended her rally in Kissimmee, FL. Hackers Set to Release Private Videos of Clinton: “the World Will See the Real Hillary”

With Wikileak’s Julian Assange announcing this week that a new trove of hacked Hillary Clinton documents will be released to the public, it has been claimed that this latest leak of sensitive campaign material may be the death knell for the former Secretary of State.

But this next round of leaks may not just include damning emails that tie Clinton to pay-to-play schemes through her family’s Clinton Global Initiative fund.

According to a 4chan post from an anonymous source who appears to have inside knowledge of the coming leaks, hackers have obtained personal videos of Hillary Clinton that will reveal “the real Hillary.” The source of the leak is reportedly Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin.

Via Red Flag News:

The 4chan user, posting anonymously, said “SHTF (sh*t will hit the fan) in 48 hours.

“Huma Abedin is the leak.

“Private videos of Hillary shot by her to be released,” the post reads.

The post alleges they were videos of Hillary Clinton in meetings that “prove treason.”

The post claims Russia Today has the videos — given to them by J.A. (likely Julian Assange) — and will air them likely Saturday.

Julian Assange Suggests Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich Was WikiLeaks Source: “We Have to Understand How High the Stakes Are in the United States”

On July 12, 2016 DNC staffer Seth Rich was murdered while reportedly walking home at 4am. Though robbery was initially suspected, Rich still had his wallet and watch when police arrived. The murder — one of five tied to the Clintons in the last six weeks — came in the midst of a massive email leak scandal involving Wikileaks, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.

Within hours of the event alternative media reporters began to suspect something was amiss, as police had no witnesses, no suspects and no motive. This led to theories that Rich, who was in charge of voter expansion data at the DNC, may have been killed to cover something up. Subsequent reports even suggested Rich may have been on his way to speak with special agents at the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding an “ongoing court case.”

Though the reports were initially dismissed as conspiracy theory, perhaps the one person who could confirm that Rich was in fact a whistle blower may have just done so. None other than Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, in an interview with Nieuwsurr, said that his organization is investigating the death of Seth Rich and, somewhat cryptically, tied Rich to Wikileaks. And though Assange wouldn’t directly admit Rich was the source, perhaps because he himself didn’t know the true identify of his source until material stopped flowing or contact was lost, he implies that Seth Rich’s murder may have been a politically-motivated assassination:

Man in Trump Shirt Hammered With Crowbar

(MONTCLAIR PATCH) — ESSEX COUNTY, N.J. — A New Jersey Donald Trump supporter reportedly got a crowbar beating because of his choice of attire last week, authorities say.

The 62-year-old male victim told Bloomfield police that he was walking on West Passaic Avenue on Aug. 3 when a man in an older-model, gray vehicle began to razz him about his Donald Trump T-shirt. Police said that the alleged Trump hater then followed the victim to the Friendly’s Restaurant on Broad Street and approached him in the parking lot with a crowbar in hand. The man then started struggling with the senior citizen and eventually struck him several times on the forearms, hands and thighs, and he reportedly fled the scene before police arrived, police said.

Mike Morell, the Former CIA Chief Who Just Endorsed Clinton, Led the Benghazi Cover Up and Has Close Ties to Hillary

The FBI strenuously deny that they provided the erroneous intel that the Benghazi attack was caused by a video and it wasn’t the FBI that was running guns to terrorists in Syria out of Benghazi — it was the CIA out of the annex.

So I’m rather inclined to believe the FBI. Mike Morell was Deputy Director of the CIA at the time of the Benghazi attack and became acting CIA Director shortly after, when Petraeus was fired…

N.B. the CIA gun running to terrorists had bipartisan approval, which is why strenuous efforts have been made by both parties to cover it up.

The leading pushers of the arming of terrorists in both Libya and Syria were Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Lindsey Graham. Other people like Obama had to have approved it. Other people probably knew, e.g. at least the other senior members of the intelligence services committee and the armed forces committee, plus people like Susan Rice.

Raped at 12, Victim Lashes Out at Hillary for Defending Attacker

Raped at age 12, a woman now is lashing out at Hillary Clinton for defending her attacker, who got off with a penalty of only a short jail term thanks to the machinations of the young lawyer in Arkansas in 1975.

The victim, Kathy Shelton, now is saying she wants to speak out so that people know the truth about the Democrat candidate for president this year.

Shelton’s comments about the assault she endured at the hands of a 41-year-old attacker when she was 12, in 1975, and the subsequent ordeal she was forced through because of the attacker’s lawyer, Hillary Clinton, came in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail.

Shelton said she was agreeing to be identified “because she is furious that her rapist’s defense attorney — Hillary Clinton — has been portraying herself as a lifelong advocate of women and girls on the campaign trail,” the report said.

Shelton, now 54, was interviewed in Springdale, Arkansas, by Alana Goodman for the Mail.

Source: Kansas Boy Who Died at Water Park Was Decapitated

A 10-year-old boy died at Sunday on the Verrückt water slide at the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City, Kan., confirmed a park spokeswoman at a news conference Sunday afternoon. Schlitterbahn closed after the accident and will remain shut down Monday. The boy was later identified as Caleb Thomas Schwab, the son of Rep. Scott Schwab.

A 10-year-old boy who was killed at a Kansas water park while riding on a 17-story waterslide was decapitated, a source told The Associated Press Wednesday.

A person who is familiar with the investigation but is not authorized to speak about it said Caleb Schwab was decapitated Sunday on the “Verruckt” ride at the Schlitterbahn WaterPark in Kansas City, Kansas.

Caleb, the son of a Kansas lawmaker, was in a raft with two adults who were not related to him when he was killed on the 168-foot tall ride, which is billed as the tallest in the world. The other two people were treated for facial injuries.

At least two people who rode in the last year on “Verruckt” — German for “insane” — say nylon shoulder straps came loose during the raft ride.

It’s unclear whether the straps played any role in Caleb’s death. Police and Schlitterbahn have not provided any other details of Caleb’s death.

A spokeswoman for the waterpark on Wednesday declined to discuss the circumstances of the boy’s death.

The park said Tuesday that the ride would be closed for the remainder of the season.

Twitter is Where Silicon Valley Careers Go to Die

by Milo

[…] Twitter can’t escape from the fact that its declining fortunes have coincided with the worst period of political controversy in its history. Because it has chosen to be an arbiter of speech rather than just a conduit, it is now facing relentless attacks from social justice warriors and their media allies, who want a harsher censorship regime. Any action Twitter takes is then faced with a furious (and justified) backlash from conservatives who are the targets for this censorship.

In other words, by choosing to be the referee in an increasingly vicious game of partisan football, Twitter has placed itself in a position where it cannot win. And to think, all it had to do to avoid this was tell its users to use the block button— or, you know, stop being such whiny, perpetually-offended losers.

Lone Suspect Killed in Anti-Terrorism Operation in Southern Ontario

A suspected ISIS sympathizer believed to be the lone suspect in a suicide bomb plot on a major Canadian city was killed Wednesday during a dramatic police takedown in a southern Ontario town, CTV News has learned.

Aaron Driver, 23, was killed inside a home in Strathroy, Ont., a community about 225 kilometres west of Toronto. He was well known to Canadian intelligence and police officials for his support for the Islamist terrorist group.

Police believe Driver was acting alone in the alleged plot, and there is no threat to public safety. But officials were swarming the Strathroy house until late Wednesday night, concerned about what may have been inside.

Neighbours reported hearing a loud explosion and gunshots during the police operation, which included swat teams, a bomb squad, the RCMP and Canada’s military special operations forces.

According to an internal government memo obtained by CTV News, the suspect allegedly planned to use an IED to carry out a suicide bombing mission in a public area. His alleged plan, according to the document, was to create mass casualties.

Officials feared that the plot could’ve been carried out on Wednesday during rush hour in a busy location.

The RCMP has not said what city was allegedly targeted. Security officials say there is no longer a threat to national security.

Driver was well known to police and intelligence officials. He was known for tweeting his support of ISIS, and he applauded the 2014 attack on Parliament Hill and encouraged ISIS to target Canadian military and police.

However, there is no evidence whether he was directed by the group in Wednesday’s foiled plot…

French 14-Year-Olds to Have School Lessons on Surviving Terrorist Attacks

French 14-year-olds are to receive training on how to survive a terrorist attack on their schools, following a spate of Islamist killings in recent months, the government announced on Wednesday.

Starting in September, pupils aged 14 and upwards will be taught basic “life-saving” measures. Head teachers will be required to carry out mock attack exercises and to secure “vulnerable areas” of their schools.

“The recent attacks and the context of the terrorist threat means heightened vigilance is required,” said a joint statement from the interior an education ministries.

It underlined how schools are a “top priority” target for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), which delivered a direct threat last December. The terrorist group’s francophone propaganda magazine, Dar al Islam, urged Muslim parents to remove their children from French schools and to kill teachers, who were called “enemies of Allah” for teaching the French principle of secularism.

Each school will now hold three exercises per academic year, covering the “ability of schools to react and not be taken by surprise”…

The German foreign minister has voiced concern for the world if US presidential hopeful Donald Trump is elected. His criticism is a departure from the neutrality practiced by Chancellor Merkel.

Libraries of Plastic Molecules Could Store Huge Amounts of Data

One day your hard drive could just be a pile of plastic. Researchers have coded a word into short chains of plastic molecules, which could be used as a space-saving way to store our mountains of data — or even to reveal counterfeit goods.

So Jean-François Lutz at the Institut Charles Sadron in Strasbourg, France, has been experimenting with more customisable chains of plastic molecules that can encode information in similar ways.

UK: Man Sentenced to Slave Labor for “Grossly Offensive” “Anti-Muslim” Remarks

By Robert Spencer

What did Stephen Bennett say? “Don’t come over to this country and treat it like your own. Britain first.” Other than that, all we get are vague characterizations of what he wrote, as apparently the Manchester Evening News doesn’t want to be hauled up on charges itself for reporting about what he said. So we hear instead that “one comment he made concerned Asian women, another was likely to be offensive to Muslims.”

For that, he got “a 12-month community order, with 180 hours’ unpaid work.” Unpaid work is slave labor. For the crime of offending Muslims. It doesn’t appear, at least from this report, that he called for any violence; he was just grousing and saying that Muslims in the UK should obey UK laws, which is a perfectly reasonable demand.

By punishing Stephen Bennett for this, Britain has shown that it is no longer a free country, but a country ruled by dhimmis anxious to bow to their Muslim overlords. If Muslims in Britain make remarks that non-Muslims consider “grossly offensive,” would they be prosecuted and sentenced to slave labor? What do you think?

As part of an Express.co.uk investigation into the Rotherham abuse scandal, victims have told this website of their shock and disgust that evidence they provided to the police in the form of witness statements and DNA later disappeared without explanation.

One even raised suspicions police tipped off her abuser that she had contacted them, saying he began texting her death threats within hours of her attending the station alone to give an interview to officers.

Amongst the documents to vanish from the police evidence room at Rotherham police station are a teenager’s diary which chronicled her years of sex abuse at the hands of grooming gangs, a victim’s original interview notes with officers and a 14-year-old’s DNA evidence.

Nearly 45,000 ISIS-Linked Fighters Killed in Past 2 Years, US Military Official Says

More than two years after the U.S. launched airstrikes against Islamic State targets in the Middle East, the commander overseeing the joint campaign said Wednesday as many as 45,000 ISIS-linked fighters had been killed.

“Although it’s no measure of success and its difficult to confirm, we estimate that over the past 11 months we’ve killed about 25,000 enemy fighters. When you add that to the 20,000 estimated killed prior to our arrival, that’s 45,000 enemies taken off the battlefield,” Army Lieutenant General Sean MacFarland told reporters at a news briefing. “I only tell you this number to provide a sense to the scale of our support and perhaps explain why enemy resistance is beginning to crumble.”

MacFarland said civilians and ISIS administration officials have been forced into front line combat jobs including manning checkpoints, making them a less capable and “diminished” force.

Photos Confirm U.K. Special Forces Are Protecting Terrorists in Syria

On August 8, 2016 the BBC published photographs and reported on yet another illegal incursion into Syria by Western NATO forces and yet another violation of Syrian national sovereignty by the United Kingdom. This time, the photographs show British Special Forces operating on the ground inside Syria in al-Tanf, near the Syrian-Iraq border, an area that is also near the Jordanian border.

The pictures themselves date back to June of this year and appear to have been taken shortly after a battle at al-Tanf between the New Syrian Army and ISIS, both Western-backed terrorist organizations. The British soldiers are photographed allegedly setting up a perimeter in order to guard the NSA base from further incursion by ISIS.

Turkey-PKK Conflict: Eight Killed in Twin Bomb Blasts

Kurdish PKK rebels have carried out two bomb attacks on police vehicles in the mainly Kurdish south-east of Turkey, killing at least eight people and wounding many more, officials say.

Three died and 25 others were injured in a blast in the town of Kiziltepe.

In Diyarbakir, a car bomb killed at least five civilians and wounded 12 others.

Clashes between Turkey’s security forces and the PKK resumed last year, ending a ceasefire.

Since then, south-east Turkey has seen its worst violence in 20 years.

The latest violence comes as the army reels from a huge purge following a coup attempt in July.

US Sells Saudi Arabia £880m of Tanks and Weapons

The US State Department has approved the potential sale of more than 130 Abrams battle tanks, 20 armoured recovery vehicles and other equipment, worth about £880m ($1.15bn), to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon has said.

The approval for land force equipment coincides with Saudi Arabia leading a military coalition in support of Yemeni forces loyal to the exiled government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi who are trying to oust Iran-allied Houthi forces from the capital, Sanaa. Human rights groups have criticized the coalition’s air strikes because of the deaths of civilians.

Report: China Building Reinforced Hangars on Disputed Islands

The New York Times tactfully suggests these new satellite images “cast doubt on China’s vow not to militarize the disputed islands.”

“A larger type of hangar on the islets can accommodate China’s H-6 bomber and H-6U refueling tanker, a Y-8 transport aircraft and a KJ200 Airborne Warning and Control System plane,” the Times says of CISIS’s analysis, which sounds quite militarized indeed.

Gregory B. Poling of the Center’s Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative noted the Chinese hangars are “far thicker than you would build for any civilian purpose,” as they have been “reinforced to take a strike.”

Poling said the appearance of the reinforced hangers was not surprising since they’re sitting at the end of runways larger than any non-military purpose would require.

Luis Fleischman: Venezuela Flaunts it’s Status as a Narco-State

Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro recently appointed Nestor Reverol as new Minister of Interior and Justice. Reverol, whose new position puts him in charge of the justice system and law enforcement has been recently accused by a Federal Court in New York of participating in a drug trafficking network and of aiding in the smuggling of cocaine into the United States.

Reverol is a former general in the Venezuelan Armed Forces, a former director of the national Anti-Drug Office and a former commander of the National Guard. Maduro’s actions are, indeed, “anti-imperialist” in nature but they are also a reconfirmation that Venezuela is a proud, no longer “in the closet” narco-state. American State Department reports have defined Venezuelan officials’ involvement in drug trafficking as “cases of corruption” within government.

Maduro’s defiant actions clearly confirm that drug trafficking is the official policy of the Venezuelan government not merely “corruption”. Furthermore, the United States is investigating a handful of additional high ranking Venezuelan officials that include among others, Diosdado Cabello (the former president of the National Assembly), Tareck Al Assimi (governor of the State of Aragua and former Minister of Interior who allegedly was responsible for providing passports to members of Hezbollah). Likewise, two nephews of Mr. Maduro’s wife were accused by a Federal court in New York of attempting to smuggle 800 kilograms of cocaine into the United States. Already in 2009, Venezuela had been denounced as being the main country of transit for Colombian drugs enroute to the United States…

Witnessing a ‘Complete Collapse of Society’ In Venezuela

“I’m very scared of how it will end,” says photographer Alvaro Ybarra Zavala

Alvaro Ybarra Zavala puts it bluntly: “Venezuela has become hell.”

The photographer had just returned from one of his latest trips to the South American nation when he talked to TIME, and he was visibly affected by the chaos he had witnessed there. “There’s a complete collapse of society,” he said.

Once an example for the continent, Venezuela is now a country in freefall. “It’s hard to find food, there’s no medicine,” said Ybarra Zavala. “If you have to have surgery, you need to bring everything with you: the bandages, the gloves, everything. There are no anesthetics.”

German Family Travel to Russia to Claim Asylum — Claiming Their Country is No Longer Safe Because of the Migrant Influx

A German family travelled to Russia before claiming asylum — insisting their homeland is no longer safe because of the influx of migrants.

Carola Griesbach, 51, and her husband Andre, 45, drove the 1,400 miles from northern Germany to Moscow’s Red Square in a VW camper van to escape the ‘German dictatorship’.

Two of their daughters, Dominique and Julia, along with four of their grandchildren were also crammed into the van.

The family left Germany for a number of reasons including that they were concerned about the number of migrants entering the country.

However, since arriving on New Year’s Eve in 2015, they have been stranded at a small motel in a forest outside the Russian capital with the authorities knocking back their claims for asylum.

The Russian government considers Germany a ‘safe’ country and the family are not allowed to become asylum seekers in Russia.

Racism, Not Refugee Rape, is Causing Agitation in Twin Falls, Claims Local TV Outlet

[WARNING: Disturbing Content.]

White racism, not a June 2 videotaped rape by refugees from strife-torn tribal cultures, is causing the growing civic protest in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to KMVT, the main local TV station.

The pitch was delivered with the help of Nancy Taylor, who is a local advocate for greater immigration.

The uproar began June 2, when a five-year-old American-born girl was allegedly raped by two small refugee boys in Twin Falls, Idaho, while a third boy, also a Muslim refugee, video-taped the attack. The details of the alleged attack are gruesome:

As Breitbart News previously reported, ten-year-old and seven-year-old Muslims allegedly orally raped the the victim, and the ten-year-old suspect allegedly anally raped her as well. Another alleged perpetrator recorded the attack while coaching them throughout the rape. The rapists also defiled their victim by urinating on her clothes and in her mouth. […]

That skew ensured that KMVT’s reporting on the press conference is “one of the most blatant examples of pro-refugee, anti-American bias I’ve seen to date in the media,” said Ann Corcoran of Refugee Resettlement Watch. She’s an expert on the lucrative refugee resettlement industry.

“When a news media outlet fails to report what an organization holding a press conference actually says at that event, you really have to question if they are an objective reporter of actual news, or if they are instead simply a propaganda outlet for the powerful refugee resettlement industry and its local business allies,” Corcoran says.

Yet somehow this hate group is as sacrosanct as the Nazi Party was in Germany. People have lost their jobs for merely criticizing Black Lives Matter. Meanwhile this is what the hate group’s backers do.

5 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/10/2016

  1. A lot of interesting stuff! As I’ve been saying:”Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you” in regards to the story about Strathroy, Ontario. I live not too far from this town.

  2. I must say that today’s “news” is among the more depressing I have read. I keep wondering when will Europe and England finally stand up to this invasion? I guess we could make a case for Canada and the US as well.

Has someone added stupid pills to the water supply? These are not refugees, they are invaders. They prove it by their behavior once they reach the destination of their choice, which is usually wherever the benefits are better.

Beyond disgusting. In the meantime, people who “dare” to tell the truth are treated as criminals at worst, ostracized at best. This is what happens when people do not know their own history, IMO. Well, at least Germany is losing tourist money due to Merkel’s idiocy. Clinton is not the only one who needs to have her head examined.

  3. I can only be astonished and dismayed by all the witch hunts against, “Islamophobia” by Western states against their own citizens.

These enforcements of sharia-compliant restrictions on speech and expression show how deeply the OIC/Ummah have infiltrated our cultures and governments.

  4. I am also hugely dismayed by the vanishing documents and DNA in Rotherham.

I would be interested in knowing who had access to that evidence and what their cultural background is. I would not be at all surprised if it was a policeperson that is also a member of the Ummah looking out for their brethren.

  5. A question, if I may: What I keep looking for and don’t see is “social drift.”

Obviously there’s a mass migration. The question may be where is it going to take everything, but, perhaps, more important is what’s fueling it? ….As in this (conjecture) from a possible Islamist viewpoint:

The Uncivilized (i.e. Christian Nations, etc.) have had incredible aggression and incredibly skilled warriors. (Indeed, it’s a great accomplishment to, say, down a Russian helicopter; the dead body of a pilot right there on the ground is cause for joy.) But, it seems “The Powers” (England, France, Germany, etc.) have beaten each other to a pulp.

A woman runs Germany. A very old woman runs England. An untrustworthy woman can soon be running “The Colossus.” Even teenagers know there’s no force with which to contend. Even the Papacy is a waning power. The man’s from Argentina — thousands of miles away, a remote area of water and limited military and a heritage of Spain, which was under Islamic rule for hundreds of years….

The Uncivilized are now like a nest of assorted insects not really knowing which way to go other than possibly out of the way of others or against others. It’s easy to leave the miserable conditions at hand and just walk in and take over the treasures.
