“The Last Remaining Fight for Freedom”

Tatjana Festerling is a former leader of PEGIDA Dresden and a popular speaker at anti-Islamization rallies in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. She recently visited Bulgaria for a “ride-along” with some of the volunteers who do border patrols and intercept illegal immigrants.

Critics of the Bulgarian volunteers refer to them as “vigilantes” and “paramilitary militias”. Their supporters call them “citizen activists”, and say they want to assist overworked and understaffed border guards. As Ms. Festerling reported in yesterday’s interview, the “refugees” are actually invaders, young men of jihad age who come to Europe to establish a bridgehead and do damage to the infidels, all the while milking the European welfare system.

But you wouldn’t know that from reading the following hit piece from Der Tagesspiegel, which is fairly representative of the way the German media cover such matters.

Vigilante Groups in Bulgaria

Ex-Pegida frontwoman wants to give her life, “if necessary,” in the fight against refugees

“The last remaining fight for freedom” — How the former Pegida leader Tatjana Festerling combats refugees with paramilitary vigilante groups in Bulgaria

It is a fiery appeal to fight for “Fortress Europe” — and against refugees. A rally in Leipzig for Legida: Tatjana Festerling, ex-frontwoman of Pegida, is standing on Monday evening on the truck stage. She is wearing a camouflage jacket, with the insignia of a paramilitary vigilante group from Bulgaria on the lapel, and appeals to the men who are present in the Richard Wagner Plaza — especially those “with military or police training” — to travel to the Black Sea and join the operations of the “patriots” at the border region with Turkey against the “invaders.” That, she said, is “what the elites want to prevent by all means. The living friendship between European peoples.”

In the past week, in the framework of an extensive European trip, Festerling travelled from Denmark through Slovakia, Hungary and Romania as well as Bulgaria. Together with her comrade-in-arms Edwin Wagensveld, who became famous in Pegida as “Ed the Dutchman,” she joined the patrols of the Vasil-Levski Brigade, a kind of private homeland army of nationalists. She praises the leader Vladimir Rusev as “warmhearted and upright and especially also an experienced military man,” very much appreciated by the population in Bulgaria.

She also met Petar Nizamov. The “refugee hunter” was arrested in April and placed under house arrest, as reported by Bulgarian media. The Bulgarian Attorney General Sotir Tsatsarov said at the time that it was not acceptable when groups or individuals took upon themselves the functions of state bodies and hunted refugees. There are several ongoing criminal proceedings against Nizamov. According to a report by The Economist, he posted an amateur video in the spring to attract comrades. It shows how three refugees in the region of Malko Tornovo were brutally bound with cable ties. The refugees allegedly reported to police that the troop had threatened them with a pistol and knives, in addition to searching for money and valuables, according to the British paper.

The ex-frontwoman of Pegida, who recently was expelled from the leadership of the anti-Islam movement in a dispute with Lutz Bachman, posted pictures on Facebook and extensive reports of her Bulgarian excursion. She herself is wearing a camouflage suit on the pictures; some of the men of the vigilante group are disguised. In front of the public in Leipzig — there are about 300 people in the Plaza — she explains: “Should I trip through the bush in a pink T-shirt and high-heeled sandals?”

Whether Festerling’s call to join the paramilitary vigilantes in Bulgaria will have legal consequences remains undetermined. In the Criminal Code, Paragraph 109h reads: “Whoever recruits a German to military service in a military or military-like establishment for the benefit of a foreign power will be penalized with a term of imprisonment of three months to five years.” Even an attempt to do so is a criminal offence.

As described by the former AfD politician from Hamburg, the operations are covered by the law. “Bulgarian volunteers” would “track down illegals in a completely legal manner and without weapons and hand them over to the border police,” Festerling said in Leipzig. However, videos posted on the internet by the troop itself show fighters with guns and also doing target practice. The FAZ reports that the vigilante group appeals on its internet page to all compatriots to protect the southern border of Bulgaria and the fatherland and to free the world “from the slavery of the Zionist international financial mafia.”

Bulgaria’s Premier had at first praised the vigilante groups

Bulgarian Premier Boyko Borisov did in fact at first praise the vigilante groups as reported in the spring in an ARD report: “Any assistance to the police, the border police and the state is welcome,” he said. “One must just not overstep one’s authorization or the law. The state belongs to all of us. Everyone who helps deserves a thank you.” The opposition severely criticized Borisov at the time; the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee brought an action against him for supporting the migrant hunters.

For Festerling, the issue has long since been about more than just Pegida “walks.” Together with the vigilante groups, she is collecting alleged pieces of evidence in the Bulgarian forests which are intended to document that the Turkish-Bulgarian border, as much as Sicily, is “the incursion gateway to Europe for the million-strong streams of migrants from the Near East and Africa.” In support of this, she has presented pictures on Facebook of packages of medications — anti-inflammatory meds and headache tablets — cans of Red Bull, designer clothes. She even claims to have found a 500-gram black-brown lump of raw opium in the forest of the border region. “Opium runners disguised as refugees, the biggest Refugee Show,” she says, fomenting the mood against people “from completely brutalized cultures.” And she also claims that “many ISIS fighters” would make their way from Bulgaria to Europe.

She effusively praises the paramilitary vigilantes: “All these men put their strength, unpaid, in the service of Europe, in the last remaining fight for freedom.”

Festerling speaks for a total of 23 minutes at the Pegida chapter. She predicts that “in the next few years, 540 million Africans would be on their way to Europe.” “Ugh!” shouts the audience. The public, however, according to the ex-Pegida leader, would “ridicule” the reports of her Bulgarian patrol “with the usual German dogmatism and presumptuousness,” while she and her comrades would be confronted with hate messages and even death threats. Presumably, “the left-green filthy media” even wished for “someone to do the dirty work and silence us.” She explains, “But you know something. We don’t give a damn. We are ready […], if necessary, to give our lives.” Her supporters applaud.

  1. “to protect the southern border of Bulgaria and the fatherland and to free the world “from the slavery of the Zionist international financial mafia.”

Oh dear, so they are that type of nationalist.

  2. Absurdity of absurdities: ”

‘She even claims to have found a 500-gram black-brown lump of raw opium in the forest of the border region. “Opium runners disguised as refugees, the biggest Refugee Show,” she says, fomenting the mood against people “from completely brutalized cultures.”’

What? Opium making its way through Turkey into Europe?! Preposterous! Unless you have the slightest inkling of how 95% of Europe’s opiates arrive there: through Turkey. The only surprising thing is that it was raw opium, because for the past half century such, from the Golden Triangle – Thailand-Laos-Burma – and, in the past two decades, from Afghanistan, gets refined into heroin in Turkey first before making the final leg to market.

Then again I don’t suppose your average “refugee” knows the addresses of the heroin labs in Turkey, so it’s reasonable that they might carry a 500-gram black-brown lump of raw opium for conversion to cash once in Europe.

‘And she also claims that “many ISIS fighters” would make their way from Bulgaria to Europe.’ Well, how can one respond to such a claim?

For starters agree that it is a near certainty that Muslim “refugees” passing through the Turkish-Bulgarian border en route to Europe will contain ISIS returnees as well as sleeper cells in the making!

  3. Do the Germans apply Para 109h of the Criminal Code to recruiters for jihad?

    • Probably not!
The EU is planning to have all people on opium and pliable by 2018 and muslims will be used as the enforcers on all the freedom killing NEW EU-sharia laws.

      • Ah,what a provocative assertion. Would this opium use by EU citizens be at all similar to the methods used by the English to hook millions of Chinese into this same behavior? Would it serve the same function – i.e., “broaden trade”?

How do they plan to ‘encourage’ EU people into becoming ‘dope fiends’ by the millions?

The English weren’t nice. I mean the ruling classes, of course. (As Lord Acton warned us re power, ruling classes the world over have no moral sense.)

[…]The recent revelations concerning the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s obliteration of archives dealing with British brutality in 1950s Africa and Malaya drew the Empire’s attackers and admirers into open combat. George Monbiot in the Guardian lambasted defenders of the imperial legacy, while Lawrence James in the Daily Mail argued that ‘the Empire was a dynamic force for the regeneration of the world’.

The Opium Wars of 1839-42 and 1856-60 between Qing-dynasty China and Britain are a perfect case study of the international divergence of opinion that the Empire continues to generate. In China the conflicts – the first between it and a western nation – are a national wound: the start of a western conspiracy to destroy China with drugs and gunboats. In Britain the wars barely seem to register in public memory.

        […]

I’d say it’s more likely the case that in Britain today, those glorious days of The Empire “barely seem to register in public memory”. Look what Tommy Robinson got for his attempt to recall them…

In other words, when the EU ruling classes has finished off its indigenous populations, supplanting them with fierce (but ignorant) warriors, they still won’t stand a chance against the Chinese elephant in the room. The one who never, ever ever forgets…

Still, the other elephant in the room, even though studiously ignored, waits for everyone. Which one is that? Why, the global demographic implosion due at mid-century. The one China and Russia are trying mightily to turn from its course, an exercise in futility though one can’t blame responsible leaders for making the attempt.

Unlike us, they both are hardening their skies against Iran’s planned EMP attacks, too. America’s might will vanish in a few moments. The busy ants who have prepared will slip away while the majority run amok.
