Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/16/2015

An unknown person or persons placed a burning cross in front of a hotel used as a refugee center in the Swedish town of Malung. The police are treating it as a hate crime.

Meanwhile, the Swedish government is planning to increase the penalties for detonating grenades and other explosions. The offense will now carry a mandatory minimum penalty of two weeks of job training.

OK, so I made that last sentence up. But still…

In other news, a Pakistani man in Saudi Arabia has been arrested on fraud charges for selling jars of what he said was camel urine, but was actually his own urine.

Bankruptcy and Economic Stagnation: Mass Layoffs Worldwide as Corporate Mergers Near New Record

Major transnational corporations, including Kraft, Motorola, Lenovo, Tyson and HTC have announced mass layoffs in recent days amid a boom in mergers and acquisitions, which are on track to hit a record this year. Processed foods maker Kraft Heinz Co…

[…]

The growing rate of mergers and acquisitions is made possible by the continual infusion of cheap money from global central banks, which have pumped trillions of dollars into the global financial system through years of quantitative easing and zero-interest-rate policies.

[Comment: All by design. There is zero reason for an independent country to borrow money from a privately run bank. Privately run central banks are the greatest scam the world has ever seen.]

Gold, Ideology and America

Can anyone stop the overweening lunacy of the banking oligarchs? No more than anyone can stop pythons from devouring rabbits at play. Our bankers are not honorable. They are not farsighted. And they have set in motion forces that no human effort can avert. Moreover they long ago formed a eathly co-op with history’s most deplorable criminal element — the state. This has given them a free pass to indulge in ugly asset corpulence and hideous irresponsibility. It has hidden the true state of their criminality from realization by good men and women. The banking oligarchs and the power they have over us today are the result of a long train of poisonous ideas descending upon the American republic over the past 150 years.

It began in the late 19th century with the coming of socialism to Europe and its Fabian migration to America at the turn of the century. Capitalism, the Fabians preached, is the root of all evil with its insistence on gold as money. Its freedom is no longer possible in the modern world. It brings to mankind uncontrollable booms and busts and horrific poverty. There is no cure for capitalism. It must be burnt at the stake of its egregious altar — free banking. Free banking is responsible for wild cycles, and gold stifles productivity when needed. Only by centralizing the great network of free banks that laissez-faire capitalism creates and shifting from rigid gold money to flexible paper money, can abundance and stability be brought to modern life…

Thus the tragedy of modernity. Political collectivists have swept over our country like a plague of infected rats in the days of Black Death. And they are destined to bring the same degree of upheaval to us that came to Europeans in the 14th century because of the rodents infesting their societies.

It’s Not the Economy Stupid: It’s the Fed

Back in the early 90’s during that era’s presidential campaign James Carville coined the narrative “It’s the economy stupid!” as to have his operatives rally around and focus their attention in a singular direction. Not only was it a brilliant strategic meme, it continually gave clarity to near everyone as to exactly what was “the” problem affecting everything.

Regardless of one’s party affiliation, discounting the simplicity and power contained within that simple line is to do so at one’s peril. For we remember it today decades (yes decades!) later because of its simplistic brilliance and effectiveness. During that period — if you weren’t talking and answering questions that were economy specific — nobody listened, nor cared. It was all about jobs, wages, GDP growth, etc., etc.

Today many are talking about the economy, but that’s all they’re doing: talking. Doesn’t matter if its today’s politician, CEO’s from the largest corporations, some national or regional business association figure-head, right down to academia with its self-perpetuating gaggle of Ivory Tower economic aficionados. All they are doing is paying lip-service to the problems. And the reason? They can’t do anything about it because as of today, the U.S. economy is being controlled high-handedly by The Federal Reserve. The U.S. economy has never before been under the command and control of a single entity — until now.

Some will scoff at the notion at first, however, all the proof that is needed is to look honestly at what out capital markets have morphed into over the last 7 years. The once great symbolic face and engine of capitalism, as well as its economic might and capital creation has been reduced to nothing more than an interface for a handful of wiz-kids with no business or economic prowess; just a Ph.D or specialized knowledge in mathematics or algorithms as to program High Frequency trading programs to skim or front-run provide liquidity for the “free money” pumped into the capital markets via the myriad of QE programs facilitated, and only made possible by the Federal Reserve. That’s not capitalism — that’s interventionism which fuels crony capitalism — pure and simple.

What remains currently since the true business and economic principles of supply and demand were pushed aside, then out entirely as we have understood them for over 200 years is what you have today is : A casino housing well-connected players. Nothing more — nothing less.

Alzheimer’s — A Disease Fed by Sugar

Mounting research suggests our modern diet is playing a significant role in the skyrocketing prevalence of Alzheimer’s. Processed foods tend to be nearly devoid of healthy fat while being excessive in sugar, and this combination appears to be at the heart of the problem.

Most people (especially Americans) are on a processed food diet, and this virtually guarantees you’ll end up getting inverted ratios of carbs and fats, not to mention both are typically inferior due to processing and adulteration.

The connection between sugar and Alzheimer’s was first broached in 2005, when the disease was tentatively dubbed “type 3 diabetes.” At that time researchers discovered that your brain produces insulin necessary for the survival of your brain cells.

A toxic protein called ADDL removes insulin receptors from nerve cells, thereby rendering those neurons insulin resistant, and as ADDLs accumulate, your memory begins to deteriorate.

Previous research has also shown diabetics have a doubled risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Now, researchers are again warning that Alzheimer’s appears to be intricately linked to insulin resistance. In one recent study,7 the researchers used brain scans to assess 150 middle-aged people who were at risk of Alzheimer’s but showed no signs of it at the outset of the study.

Armed Black Panthers March in Texas: ‘Off the Pigs’

WALLER COUNTY, Texas — A group of armed members of the New Black Panther Party marched on the Waller County Jail Wednesday afternoon chanting “The revolution is on… Off the pigs,” and “Oink Oink… Bang Bang!” The group of about fifteen Black Panthers exercised their First and Second Amendment rights. The group was met in Waller County by a large contingent of Harris County (Houston) Sheriff’s Office deputies.

In order to avoid a repeat of last weekend’s disturbance where protesters invaded the Sheriff’s Office foyer and engaged in disruptive behavior, Waller County Sheriff R. Glenn Smith called the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to request assistance under a regional assistance agreement. Harris County sent in about seventy-five deputies including about ten horse mounted crowd-control deputies and approximately thirty crowd-control deputies in riot gear.

The Black Panthers marched into the street in front of the jail chanting “Whose streets?… Our streets!” Many of the members of the group were armed with shotguns, hunting rifles and AR-15 style assault rifles. Most looked like they were simply holding the weapon they were carrying. One of the “soldiers” took a more aggressive grip on his weapon, holding his rifle with his finger “indexed” slightly above the trigger. This can be considered a “ready” position in a shooting situation.

Deputies Shoot, Kill Target of 2-Week Manhunt in California

RIDGECREST, Calif. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in California shot and killed a man believed to be the target of a two-week-long manhunt in the rugged, mountainous high desert of central California, authorities said late Saturday.

A man who matched the description of Benjamin Peter Ashley, 34, was fatally struck by two deputies who tried to stop him as he walked on a rural road toward the foothills, Kern County sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt said.

He was shot after he brandished a handgun, Pruitt said.

EPA De-Develops the US Through Nebulous Consensus Climate Change

Several presentations at the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness in Ontario, California, dealt with the issues of anthropogenic global warming promoted by the climate change industry.

Dr. S. Fred Singer, founder of the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP), and Ken Haapala, current president of SEPP, discussed the “National Environment Assessment: Peeling the Speculative Onion.” Haapala spoke of “climate fears and finance” and our government’s limitations on CO2 emissions as a “policy in search of a problem.”

Because the global warming (climate change) predictions have proven inaccurate, the fear of non-existent anthropogenic global warming should be called correctly “projections,” said Haapala. “None of the models have undergone the rigorous scientific testing required for verification and validation.”

Pope Francis and Climatism

In late July 2015, sixty environmentally-friendly mayors from cities like Boston, Boulder, New York City, San Francisco, Oslo, Stockholm, New Orleans, Birmingham (Alabama), Vancouver, Libreville (Gabon), Siquirres (Costa Rica), and Kochi (India) met for a two-day conference in Vatican City to pledge to the pope to reduce global warming and to help the urban poor deal with the onslaught of global warming which seems to affect them disproportionately while the rest of “the working class” are experiencing cooler temperatures due to seasonal changes.

These mayors belong to the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance and have committed themselves to reducing CO2 emissions by “at least 80 percent by 2050.” Gov. Jerry Brown of California is the leader, having “enacted the toughest greenhouse gas emission standards in North America.”

At the conclusion of the two-day conference, mayors were also asked to sign a declaration against slavery and human trafficking.

Mayor Gregor Robertson of Vancouver signed the declaration that states “human-induced climate change is a scientific reality and its effective control is a moral imperative for humanity.” So the “climatism” rhetoric has changed now from “consensus science is settled” to “human imperative.”

Pork Belly Prices Sizzle

Bacon is finally getting a boost as Americans add the fatty strips to everything from corn dogs to french fries, helping demand while inventory shrinks.

Pork bellies, the cut of meat used to make bacon slices, have surged 174 percent since hitting a five-year low in April, according to wholesale prices from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The price reached $1.6968 a pound Friday, a one-year high.

“It’s really demand that’s driving this,” said Ryan Turner, a risk management consultant at FCStone Group in Kansas City, Mo. “People are putting bacon on anything.”

Bacon-centric food items are fueling sales at Wendy’s Co., which added bacon fries, and McDonald’s Corp., with its sausage and bacon breakfast sandwich. Other culinary wonders include the bacon veggie burger.

Race Not a Concern for the Media When a White Girl is Brutally Attacked by Four Black Men

Here is a sample of the headlines;

From the Independent: Teenager requires surgery after being attacked by cat-calling men for ‘wearing a bikini’

From Huffington Post: Teen Disfigured By Catcaller’s Pipe Attack: “I looked down and saw my teeth in my hand.”

From KTBS: Shreveport police make arrest in pipe attack.

Can you imagine if the races caught up in this were reversed, four White guys who attacked a black girl, we would hear about structural White supremacy in America by Wolf Blizter until our ears were blue (again).

In stark contrast to recent events involving police and blacks, when blacks attack whites race can NEVER be an issue. It cannot even be mentioned, so as not to perpetuate racial stereotypes about blacks being prone to crime and violence. The following examples involve a recent attack on a white girl by four black sexual predators who not only were not identified by their race but were also euphemistically referred to as “catcallers.” This all fits the emerging narrative that “white lives don’t matter.”

Here is the story by Rachelle Blidner from the New York Daily Times:

Smart Meters Mandated by Government Spontaneously Exploding, Setting Off Fires in Private Homes

(NaturalNews) June 2015: Jolted awake at one in the morning, Veronica Onyskiw of Ontario Canada awoke to the sound of a loud revving car engine. That’s how she described the noise that was growing outside her home. She looked outside and quickly noticed a burning light outside the house, lighting up her backyard. As the revving sound grew louder, the lights in the house dimmed. Then suddenly, the lights went out and an explosion went off. Consumed by the smell of burning plastic and a fear that people were trying to burn down her house, she rushed to the landline phone only to realize it was dead. The smoke alarms weren’t working either. Reaching for her cell phone and rushing outside, she saw the fire, scaling and crawling across the back of her home. The bursts, the cracking, and the popping were coming from the recently installed government mandated Smart Meter. Firefighters on the scene confirmed that the faulty Smart Meter caused the fire, a problem that continues to be reported on throughout North America.

Smart Meters causing spontaneous fires that are hard to detect In May 2015, at a residence in Dallas, Texas, the homeowner was not as fortunate when a Smart Meter fire broke out unexpectedly. Seventy-four-year-old James Humphrey, Jr. did not make it out alive when a faulty Smart Meter exploded and burned down his home without warning. Trapped in his bedroom, with heavy flames roaring around him, Humphrey Jr. was unable to escape and was found charred on the bedroom floor when firefighters located his body.

These stories are only the tip of the iceberg, representing multiple thousands of cases where Smart Meters have caused unexpected fires, burning down homes. PGE has reportedly replaced at least 70,000 faulty Smart Meters in Oregon. In Pennsylvania, PECO replaced at least 186,000 of the government mandated meters. What’s worse is that homeowners like Veronica Onyskiw who have experienced the Smart Meter fires first hand, are not getting a choice to have their old analog meters back.

Smart Meters are forced on homes without consent or options Governments, touting potential electricity savings, have mandated Smart Meters and manufacturers and installers have followed along, putting in these public safety hazards without getting permission from homeowners. In a way, the unaccountable governments are claiming they can infringe on people’s property rights by not giving consent for attaching these faulty devices on individuals’ property.

The largest perpetrators, BC Hydro, BCUC and PG&E, who are colluding with government to force Smart Meters on the population, will do everything they can to keep public in the dark about these dangerous new meters. Where is the public outcry? People don’t even have a choice to keep their analog meter and opt out of dangerous rip off Smart Meters. People are basically being forced to put their own lives and property at increased risk!

Portugal: We Live Here, Irate Lisbonites Remind City in Tourist Boom

Ever since tram number 24 stopped running up one of Lisbon’s famous hills two decades ago, residents have been demanding its return. So when the renamed Tram Tour began service in May on a shortened route known for hilltop views of the city, it might have been cause to rejoice.

Instead, the tram has become just the latest symbol of tourists being attended to while locals are literally left behind. Lisbon has been the fastest-growing city destination in southern Europe for overnight guests since the global financial crisis amid an unprecedented surge in the nation’s $11.6 billion tourism sector.

The tram is “a little insulting for Lisbon residents,” said Mario Alves, who is among the more than 2,500 people who have signed a petition demanding another tram service, which at 6 euros ($6.7) a ride costs more than twice other city transport. “Other trams are often filled with tourists and some old city residents have to walk.”

The backlash isn’t limited to trams — resident groups across the city are asking for more regulation to limit the impact of the tourism inflow.

Sweden: Government: Tougher Penalties for Grenades and Explosives

The Swedish government wants to increase the penalties for those who commit crimes with explosives and hand grenades, Swedish Radio News reports. This follows a series of detonations in Malmö during the summer.

Home Affairs Minister Anders Ygeman says the use of a hand grenade ought to carry just as severe sentences as for those who violate the weapons law. Last year weapons legislation was tightened, including extending the sentence for violations from one to two years in prison. At the same time, a new crime of “extremely serious weapons offence” was added, with a six year sentence.

But the law covering inflammable and explosive materials was not changed. Today aggravated recklessness with grenades and explosive has a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

Now the government wants to make the penalties for using explosives more severe, with reckless treatment of hand grenades treated the same as a weapons crime.

“There shouldn’t be a difference between using a grenade and a pistol,” Home Affairs Minister Yngeman tells Swedish Radio News.

UK: ‘Child Abuse Victims Murdered and Bodies Dumped in Lake’

[WARNING: Disturbing Content.]

‘ The detective who cracked the Stephen Lawrence case has been investigating claims that child abuse victims were murdered decades ago and their bodies dumped in a lake.

Retired Clive Driscoll spent years investigating child abuse by paedophiles in south London.

In his book, In Pursuit Of The Truth, he recalls interviewing a troubled woman called Vicky, who later starved herself to death. She detailed horrific ritual abuse.

The former detective chief inspector writes: “She talked about a place in Kent where she had been taken, along with other children, and made to run away from dogs.

“They were dumped in the woods and given a head start before the hunting pack was released. She survived. Other kids weren’t so fortunate.”‘

UK: Agents ‘Killed Body-in-Bag Spy Gareth Williams Then Got Into Flat to Destroy Evidence’

An officer at the heart of the investigation into the death of Gareth Williams, who was discovered in a holdall in 2010, says detectives believe the London flat was broken into after probe began.

Detectives who investigated the mysterious death of a British spy found padlocked in a bag in his flat believe he was murdered and that his killers then broke back in through a skylight to cover their tracks.

Gareth Williams, 31, was discovered in a holdall in the bath at his London home five years ago this month. Now a source at the heart of the investigation has told The Mail on Sunday that Scotland Yard detectives believe an agent from an unknown secret service broke into the victim’s flat to destroy or remove evidence.

The new claim centres on the revelation that part of the forensic equipment placed in the flat after the body was found was moved — despite the fact the building was under armed police guard.

UK: Asian Child Sex Gangs Shock: Police Identify 300 New Paedophiles in Rotherham

SHOCKING results of the latest investigation into child sex abuse in Rotherham have shown around 300 potential new suspects have been identified in the Yorkshire town.

At a press conference today, National Crime Agency boss called the huge extent of the rape, trafficking and grooming — mainly carried out by Asian gangs who targeted white girls and young women between 1997 and 2013 — “horrendous”.

The NCA’s senior investigating officer Steve Baldwin confirmed previous reports of around 1,400 sex abuse victims in the town were a “very good estimate”.

Speaking to press in Sheffield, Mr Baldwin said: “The abuse that has taken place in Rotherham is horrendous.

“We have gathered a huge amount of material in Operation Stovewood and this details some disturbing events.

“We will use the information as a starting point for developing intelligence and evidence.

“Given the amount of victims there are, there is potential to identify thousands of offences.”

While none of the 300 have been arrested, investigators say some may have had contact with the authorities in two previous police investigations, as many have aliases and nicknames.

Among the suspects at large are two former or serving Rotherham councillors, investigators said.

UK: Lord Janner Finally Appears in Court, Accused of 22 Child Sex Crimes

United Kingdom — Lord Janner has finally appeared in court to face child sex abuse charges. The former Labour peer appeared for a brief preliminary hearing at Westminster magistrates’ court after his legal team lost an appeal to prevent him from having to attend. The appeal followed repeated efforts by his lawyers to avoid showing up whatsoever.

After judges warned he would face arrest if he did not appear, the full hearing took less than 12 minutes, during which Janner was accused of 15 counts of indecent assault and seven counts of a separate sexual offence. The charges were a result of claims by nine total complainants, according to a BBC report.

Janner is just one of a string of U.K. establishment figures, ministers, and institutions accused of child sexual abuse and resulting cover-ups.

He is accused of 22 child sex abuse allegations, in which he allegedly molested nine boys over three decades. His family has consistently denied claims that he used his power to abuse vulnerable boys at a children’s home, though lawyers have fought against his prosecution on the grounds that he is suffering from advanced dementia.

The core allegation was that Janner befriended the manager of a children’s care home to gain access to juveniles so he could perpetrate serious sexual offences. After a police investigation interviewed dozens of alleged victims who claimed they were abused by the now 87-year old Janner in the 1970s and 80s, the Crown Prosecution Service concluded there was enough evidence to prosecute him for 22 offences.

UK: Paedophile Taunts Angry Parents With Shouts of ‘Bring Your Children’ As Mob Attacks Home

A CONVICTED sex offender taunted parents by shouting “bring your children to me” after a mob of around 100 attacked his home.

The former chemistry teacher had been living in South Yorkshire for a year-and-a-half without neighbours realising he was a campaigner who had demanded sex with children should be legal.

Concerned parents became aware of Oldfield’s grim background after a social media posting.

They laid siege on his home in Maltby, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, last Friday in a five-hour attack which included daubing his door with graffiti.

A new book by royal biographer Ingrid Seward claims the Queen made the remark after she initially heard news Diana had been injured in a crash.

Croatia: Branimir Glavas Drinks Wine With Hitler’s Face

ZAGREB — Branimir Glavas, convicted for war crimes against Serbs in Osijek, bragged on his Facebook page by showing how he spends his vacation in Lukokran on the island of Ugljan, by posting photographs of him with bottles of wine whose label wears the face of Adolf Hitler, reported Croatian Radio and Television.

Comments below the photographs are worth reading, as some evoke the arrival of such a dictator to Croatia, reports daily “Vecernji List”. The daily recalls that recently Glavas published on his Facebook page a photograph showing a bar, with a large photograph of Ante Pavelic hanging on the wall in the back.

After the Constitutional Court in January overturned the final verdict in the cases “Garage” and “Duck tape” of 8 years in prison, on the basis of which Glavas served prison sentence in Mostar, verdict of the Zagreb County Court remained in force, which convicted him to 10 years in prison for war crimes in Osijek.

Al-Qaida Releases 7 US-Backed Rebels in Northern Syria

The Division 30 rebel group said in a statement late Aug. 15 that it hopes the Nusra Front will release the group’s commander who has been held since July 30. Days after the abduction, the Nusra Front attacked the Division 30 command in northern Syria, leading to the near-collapse of the group that has dozens of fighters.

The kidnapping and attack on Division 30, came a few days after the U.S. and Turkey announced the outlines of a deal to help rebels push Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) back from a strip of territory it controls along the Syrian-Turkish border, replacing it with more moderate rebels backed by Washington and Ankara.

The Nusra Front said at the time it abducted the rebels because they were trained by the U.S…

Kayla Mueller: Why US Hostage Raped by ISIS Leader Refused to Escape

A teenage girl, who had also been held by ISIS, revealed the conditions of Kayla Mueller’s captivity to US officials.

A 14-year old Yazidi girl captured by ISIS in Iraq last August revealed the American aid worker’s ordeal to US officials who later confirmed the reports. The young girl says she spent two months with Mueller in a house in the Syrian town of al-Shadadiya before escaping in October 2014, reports London’s Independent newspaper.

ISIS militants held Mueller and the witness in a room with two other Yazidi teenagers and repeatedly abused all four girls. When al-Baghdadi was around, he would take Mueller to his room, the Yazidi teen said, and the hostage would then tell her fellow captives what he had done to her.

Mueller tried to shield the girls from the terrorists’ abuse and violence, sometimes putting their lives before hers. When the Yazidi girl escaped with her sister, she asked the American to join them, US officials relayed. Yet Mueller refused out of fear that her foreign appearance would put them in danger.

“Kayla tried to protect these young girls,” her mother told AP. “She was like a mother figure to them.”

Turkey Loses British Tourists in Addition to Russians

Burak Cosan — DALAMAN

The number of foreign visitors to Turkey fell in the first half of the year while the outlook for the rest of 2015 looked gloomy, as heightened security risks have weighed down tourists’ appetite for visiting the country.

Foreign arrivals fell 2.25 percent to 14.89 million people in the first six months, data from the Culture and Tourism Ministry showed on July 29. Turkey’s tourism income decreased by 13.8 percent in the second quarter of the year, down $7.73 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

With escalating violence within and around the country and rising economic problems in Russia, Turkey’s tourism players have warned of worse numbers in 2016.

“While the hotel occupancy rates decreased by 10 percent in some touristic centers, these facilities lost 30 percent in income compared to the last year. Many touristic facilities experience financial losses due to the decrease in the tourist numbers as well as continuing unplanned hotel investments. We’ll see the same, even worse problems next year as well,” said Alpay, claiming around 30 big hotels in the Mediterranean resort of Antalya changed hands this year due to negativities in the sector…

India Attaches ‘High Priority’ To Ties With Iran

On his maiden visit to India after the historic nuclear deal with P5+1, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif thanked New Delhi for supporting Tehran during difficult times.

The visiting minister informed the senior Indian leaders that his country has long-term plans for the South Asian country. Apart from discussing ways to boost bilateral ties in various sectors, Zarif shared his views on the IS threat, energy investments and development of Chahbahar port with Indian leaders during their meetings on Friday and Saturday.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that the July 14 announcement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Tehran and the P5+1 countries has allowed the West Asian nation to restructure its trade ties with the rest of the world. Zarif — who arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night after visiting Pakistan — also said that Tehran’s initiatives would certainly benefit India. Describing India as an important player in West Asia, he stressed that he was in New Delhi to invite India to invest in his country’s energy sector.

Zarif told Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj that Tehran has always considered the South Asian nation as its strategic partner and is interested in working closely with New Delhi in areas, like connectivity, oil and gas, investments, fertilisers, infrastructure development, among others.

The Indian minister requested Zarif to hand over the nine Indians — who are in Iranian jails on charges of smuggling — to New Delhi, urging him for waiver of USD 2.9 million fine imposed on them. Although the Iranian minister assured Swaraj that he would take up the issue, he claimed that the resolution would need a quid pro quo and New Delhi would have to look at the Iranians imprisoned in India.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed India’s commitment to work with Iran for development of the Chabahar port. During their meeting, the Indian premier told Zarif that New Delhi is concentrating on the port project as it will have a far reaching benefit not only for the two countries, but also for neighbouring Afghanistan and the Central Asian countries. The visiting minister welcomed India’s plan regarding the project, saying that Tehran wants New Delhi to raise its stake in the strategically important Chabahar Port and also to operate it.

Later, Indian Shipping and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari — who also held talks with Zarif — admitted that Tehran’s new offer was lucrative to India, as the port could give India a sea-land access to Afghanistan and Central Asia, bypassing Pakistan. As Iran’s offer appeared to be hugely beneficial for India, Gadkari informed the media that the Indian government would soon take a call.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated in a statement: “The PM recalled his meeting with President (Hassan) Rouhani of Iran and reiterated that India attached high priority to its relations with Iran.” When Zarif extended an invitation on behalf of President Rouhani to Modi to visit Iran, the Indian premier accepted the invitation.

India wholeheartedly wants the Iranian nuclear deal to move forward without major hitches, as the South Asian country knows that strengthened ties with Tehran will certainly boost its regional standing. Although it maintains working relationships with Israel and major Gulf Co-operation Council (GGC) countries, India has a special interest in Iran due to its long-standing rivalries with neighbouring China and Pakistan. The Modi administration has already started taking necessary steps to clarify a strategy mainly to redefine its role in West Asia. The strategy will be less reactive to its rivals and driven more by seizing business opportunities.

Indonesia: Jakarta: Bullying on Rise in Colleges: Six Die in Orientation Programs

The Minister for Education has threatened to suspend the courses organized by the senior students to welcome the new. Growing physical violence and evidence that endanger the health of children. Positive example the Jesuit schools: in 30 years not even one accident.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) — Education Minister Muhammad Nasir has threatened to ban the orientation courses for new students conducted on college and high schools campuses (respectively Ospek and Mos), after six students died in recent weeks in unclear circumstances.

The Ospek and Mos have been practiced in Indonesia since the 1950s. It is a combination of mental and physical exercises — including fun games — with which senior students “entertain” the latest to arrive, in a kind of admission test to the institute, which explains the “rules”.

The courses are organized by student councils, subject to authorization by the institution. The programs organized by the school (Mos) — whose academic year begins mid-July — last up to a day or two, while those for the university (Ospek) are a week of events, usually held in August. From the formal point of view, each program should be supervised by the professors of the faculty / school.

Often, however, the teachers eave it to and students are not in any way involved in the activities, which can lead to bullying, violence, harassment and coercion to the detriment of the young people. During the days, freshmen are often forced to submit themselves to inane actions that endanger their health. Some universities allow excessive exercises, ignoring the physical condition of the students, which can lead to injury or even death.

Two weeks ago, a high school student of the Bekasi district of West Bengal died after taking part in Mos. After events like this, the Indonesian press usually lashes out for a few days against the institutions, denouncing the lack of security. But there is rarely any change.

Faced with this alarming situation in public schools, the experience of institutions run by the Jesuits stands out. Loyola High School, Central Java, has held Mos for at least 30 years and there has never een any incident of injury or death. Here too the “orientation” progams are drawn up by the student councils, under the full supervision of the general chaplain (called “moderator”). Activities are prepared with clear objectives and procedures. After five days of courses, Mos concludes with the official inauguration of the new students and a “welcome” party. Dance competitions are organized to facilitate the birth new friendships in school.

Justice and Peace Commission on Child Abuse in Pakistan

Pakistani police arrested 25 people in connection with videos showing the abuse of 284 children, aged 6 to 14, whose parents were then subject to blackmail. For Kashif Aslam, the country needs a code of conduct or laws to protect children. Justice and Peace Commission presents a number of demands to avoid future sexual abuses.

Lahore (AsiaNews) — “Children are the future of our nation. The government has to protect them to meet its social, moral and international obligations vis-Ã -vis the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child*. We hope the government will seriously address the issue of children’s protection and security,” said the Justice and Peace Commission of Pakistan (NCJP) in a statement issued following recent revelations about sex abuses involving children in Kasur District (central-eastern province of Punjab).

This is the most serious case of violence against children ever reported in the country. It involves 284 children, aged six to 14 years, and 25 adults arrested on charges of making 400 videos, used to blackmail the children’s families.

The case came to light on 8 August, when police arrested the members of a criminal gang. Investigators are concerned that local politicians might be involved, and that they might harass the victims’ families, which have already been blackmailed over the videos.

In Pakistan, many minors are victim of sex crimes. In 2014 alone, some 3,500 children have been involved, 67 per cent in rural areas.

For this reason, the NCJP has called on political leaders “from all parties to condemn strongly such serious criminal offences, and not use it for internal political purposes.”

The Commission said that the victims should be given immediate medical and psychological help to deal with the trauma and that any officials involved be removed and indicted.

It called on the government to introduce sex education courses in schools to prevent such crimes in the future and create a commission to formulate legislation to punish child abuse and pornography.

Finally, the NCJP called for a review of the role and responsibilities of the Child Protection Bureau to make it more efficient and responsible.

“The situation in the country is becoming more alarming,” said NCJP coordinator Kashif Aslam as he spoke to AsiaNews about last week’s awful episode. “We desperately need a code of conduct or laws that protect the rights of children, but unfortunately human rights protection is not a government’s priority.”

“In the past, private schools offered children sex ed courses so that they could learn to protect themselves and assert their rights,” he EXPLAINED. “Now the government has banned the (sex ed) books because it considers them against religion,” i.e. Islam.

The authorities should instead “allow those courses to prevent violence in schools. Pakistan has no laws and policies that make children safe, despite having signed and ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.”

* The Convention on the Rights of the Child was signed in 1989. Pakistan ratified it in 1990.

China Blast Zone Blocked Over Fears of Contamination, As Death Toll Hits 112

TIANJIN, China — Authorities pulled more bodies from a massive blast site in the Chinese port of Tianjin, pushing the death toll to 112 on Sunday as teams scrambled to clear dangerous chemical contamination.

More than 700 people were injured and 95 people, including dozens of firefighters, are missing after a fire and rapid succession of blasts late Wednesday hit a warehouse for hazardous chemicals in a mostly industrial area of Tianjin, 75 miles east of Beijing.

By Sunday, authorities confirmed there were “several hundred” tons of the toxic chemical sodium cyanide on the site at the time of the blasts, although they said there have not been any devastating leaks.

Sodium cyanide is a toxic chemical that can form a flammable gas upon contact with water, and several hundred tons would be a clear violation of rules cited by state media that the warehouse could store no more than 10 tons at a time.

Ex-Merck Employee Turned Anti-Vaccine Activist Now Terrorized by Big Pharma Black Ops Branch

(NaturalNews) “We may need to seek them out and destroy them where they live,” wrote a Merck & Co. employee who was actively plotting to murder or discredit doctors who had voiced concerns regarding the adverse health effects of an anti-inflammatory drug called Vioxx.

Launched in 1999, Vioxx was extremely popular (with more than 80 million users worldwide), as its makers heralded the drug as being the answer to inflammation, minus the nausea that often follows with anti-inflammatory medication.

It was later discovered that the New Jersey-based Merck & Co. was knowingly selling a drug that frequently caused heart attacks and strokes in its unsuspecting victims. A study revealed that Vioxx actually doubled the risk of heart attacks and strokes, prompting the company to voluntary withdraw the drug from the market in 2004.

Prior to the drug being pulled from the market, several Merck & Co. staff exchanged emails in which they discussed a “hit list” they drafted of doctors whom they believed needed to be “neutralised” or “discredited” due to their criticism of Vioxx.

Merck & Co. long history of harassing and threatening those who stand in the way of drug profits

The emails surfaced in court after 58-year-old Graeme Peterson claimed the drug caused him to have a heart attack in 2003 after taking the medication for three years to treat his back pain and arthritis.

Merck & Co. and its Australian subsidiary, Merck Sharpe & Dohme, were sued for damages by more than 1,000 Australians (and many others in the US), who claimed that they suffered heart attacks and strokes at the hands of Vioxx.

The court ruled in Peterson’s favor, allotting him just under $300,000 in compensation; however, the ruling was reversed in 2010 by an appeal panel in Federal Court in Melbourne.

The court said it wasn’t proven that Vioxx caused Peterson’s heart attack, despite accusations that the American pharmaceutical company misconstrued Vioxx’s health risks in medical literature, advertisements and statements to doctors by sales representatives.

Mathematical Radio Waves From Deep Space Baffle Scientists

In the 1997 film “Contact,” which was an adaptation of a novel written by Carl Sagan, an astrophysicist played by Jodie Foster becomes the first human to make contact with an extraterrestrial civilization after detecting a strong, patterned radio signal from outer space.

Though fictional, the movie may have been prophetic. For the last 15 years, scientists have been detecting strange radio bursts from deep space that appear mathematical in nature, reports New Scientist. The fact that they display a mathematical pattern is the linchpin: There are no known natural phenomenon capable of generating radio bursts with this kind of pattern.

So either these radio waves represent some yet undiscovered celestial event, or they are being produced by some kind of technology. In other words, if they do have a technological origin and they aren’t being generated by us, that means they could be signals from an extraterrestrial intelligence. Yep, that’s right: aliens.

The reason this may be the first you’ve heard about these potential alien radio broadcasts is that scientists still aren’t entirely sure what to make of them. There are a lot of possible explanations that don’t involve little green men. But the fact that scientists can’t rule out the possibility of an alien origin is rather mind-blowing, if not downright frightening…

The signals have been given a name: fast radio bursts, or FRBs. They last just a few milliseconds but they’re incredibly powerful, with the energy equivalent to what the sun releases in a month. Ten of these bursts have been detected since 2001, the most recent of which was captured live in 2014 at the Parkes Observatory in New South Wales, Australia.

Donald Trump Releases Plan to Combat Illegal Immigration

After staking his early campaign on caustic and controversial remarks about undocumented immigrants, Donald J. Trump on Sunday outlined his plan to fix the country’s immigration system and deal with people who are in the country illegally.

The position paper, published on Mr. Trump’s website Sunday morning, centered on three principles. The first stated that “a nation without borders is not a nation” — a theme Mr. Trump has made a constant in his stump speeches — and called for a wall to be built along the southern border.

He also repeated his promise to make Mexico pay for the wall and laid out how he would do it: largely through increasing fees on border movement between the United States and Mexico.

“We will not be taken advantage of anymore,” the plan states.

Former Swedish Minister of Finance: Sweden Will Become Like Africa

The former Swedish Minister of Finance, Anders Borg, in 2013 said that he hoped that Sweden will look like Africa in about ten years. He said that he sees benefits in Sweden becoming more multicultural and takes after the Africans.

It was during a visit in Lagos, Nigeria, he told how beautiful he thinks African women are dressed, he praised their beautiful colors and criticized how reserved and dull Swedes dress. Furthermore, he explained to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, that in ten years’ time it will look like Africa throughout Europe, and that Europe will be better than it is now, and more multicultural.

You start to see it in pop music and other things that Africa is beginning to be heard in a completely different way. But I think that when we really will see the development is when we have African fast food chains in Stockholm, he told the newspaper.

Hostile statements towards Sweden, and that Sweden should and must become multicultural, and that this is better than the old European and Swedish way, we have heard many times before. Anders Borg’s boss, Former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, said among other things that “Swedish is only barbarism. The rest of the development has to come from the outside.” Like Anders Borg, he declared that multiculturalism makes Sweden a more exciting and interesting community, and he recently stated that “Sweden belongs to the immigrants, not the Swedes”.

Migrants From North Africa Destroying British Culture

Although we have become accustomed to stories of stowaways risking their lives to get in to the UK from France, fear and anger grew last week as it was reported that 2000 migrants stormed the Euro Terminal in France in one night alone in an attempt to overthrow security to get here. There is a reported determination by migrants to never give up forcing their way.

The migrants/refugees, who include many unaccompanied children, are mainly from such countries as Afghanistan, Albania, Iraq, Kosovo, Serbia and Syria. They daily risk their lives by breaking through security fences to find ways of stowing in, or on lorries. Travellers are warned to lock their cars. Lorry drivers can be fined large amounts, or lose their jobs if they are found to be carrying stowaways. Some migrants have attempted to walk through the tunnel at great expense to their own life and those of others…

Whilst some believe that it is our duty to let more migrants into our country and help them, others, who think we should deter migrants from coming to the UK are accused of being racist and un-caring.

It is quite a dilemma.

The one thing that many British people feel is completely un-protected and displaced by the growing number of people who have entered the country, most especially in the last 20 years. Because British values have been put aside to accommodate others, this now gives them very little sympathy.

In terms of feeling trapped, over-crowded, and out of control they experience the trapped in the tunnel syndrome. England, along with Holland is now the most crowded country in Europe.

Q: Why Are Sweden’s Pisa Test Scores Falling? A: Immigration!

Two weeks ago, I published a paper [in Swedish] at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics and an op-ed in the largest Swedish daily about the impact of immigration on Sweden’s Pisa scores. Quite a row followed. Why? Well, it turns out that the change in pupil demographics due to immigration explains almost a third of the average decline between 2000 and 2012: 19 per cent in mathematical literacy, 28 per cent in reading literacy, and 41 per cent in scientific literacy. The effect is especially pronounced in recent years, coinciding with accelerating refugee immigration. Indeed, between 2009 and 2012, 43 per cent of the average Pisa score decline is explained by altered demographics: a full 29 per cent in mathematical literacy, 45 per cent in reading literacy, and 62 per cent in scientific literacy.

In the paper, I also calculate that 11 per cent of the overall decline can be attributed directly to the decreasing share of pupils with a Swedish background, while 18 per cent can be attributed to the fact that results among pupils with an immigrant background have fallen more significantly. The latter is clearly displayed by the next graph. While scores among pupils with a Swedish background have declined by 22 points between 2000 and 2012, scores among pupils with an immigrant background have fallen by 39 points — and the performance gap between the two groups has grown from 36 points to 53 points.

These are strong effects. In fact, the change in pupil demographics is the only factor that we know for sure has contributed to Sweden’s falling scores. Furthermore, the full impact is probably somewhat larger. This is because immigration may also have lowered performance among pupils with a Swedish background, for instance through the redistribution of resources to immigrant pupils. While this is a more difficult subject to study, the most relevant paper suggests modest negative effects in this respect. It’s therefore probable that the total impact of changed pupil composition is higher than reported here.

Even with this effect included, immigration is nevertheless unlikely to be the only reason behind Sweden’s falling educational performance. While the left’s arguments have been debunked, there are more plausible explanations, explored elsewhere by myself and my colleague Dr Tino Sanandaji. In short: the rise of an overly progressive educational culture is likely to be an important culprit. Incidentally, as my recent monograph shows, this is also relevant for understanding declining Pisa scores in Finland, the longstanding pin-up model of school choice and accountability critics.

Sweden: Burning Cross Outside Refugee Housing in Malung

A burning cross was placed in front of a hotel housing refugees in Malung early Sunday morning.

The cross was set up around 20 meters from the Hotel Skinnargården sometime between 2:00 and 2:30 AM. Eye witnesses say they saw a couple of young people running from the scene.

The police are treating the incident as molestation with the characteristics of a hate crime. The racist Ku Klux Klan often used burning crosses to terrorize freed slaves in the American South after the end of the Civil War.

Late last week two bags containing inflammable liquids were found outside a refugee housing facility in Arboga, and someone tried to burn a home for unaccompanied refugee children in Värnamo.

Grassroots Nullification: Kentucky Clerk Says “No” To Homosexual “Marriage” Licenses

Nullification is simply when states declare that since a given federal action is unconstitutional, they will not abide by it.

The media don’t have much to say about “sanctuary cities,” which defy constitutional federal immigration law. But when the matter is a moral-sanctuary locality or bureaucracy that defies the unconstitutional Obergefell faux-marriage ruling, it’s a different story.

And such is the story in Morehead, Kentucky, where a county clerk has responded to the Supreme Court’s constitutional trespass by refusing to issue marriage licenses — to anyone. As the New York Times reports:

Kim Davis, the clerk in Rowan County, who says her Christian faith bars her from authorizing same-sex marriages, has refused to issue any licenses, either to same-sex or heterosexual couples after the historic ruling in June in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges. She has ignored a direct order from Gov. Steven L. Beshear that she do so.

T.D. Jakes “Shocked” After Theology Called Into Question Following Remarks Respecting “Gay Rights”

Heather Clark, columnist for the Christian News Network, has written a follow up piece to: T.D. Jakes Comes Out for “Gay Rights” and “LGBT Churches,” Says Position is “Evolving.” In her new piece she covers some of the controversial comments Jakes made in the HuffPo interview. Those of you who are unaware of the reasons his remarks caused such a stir will find Clark’s piece illuminating. One thing he said that caused concern was that he feels it’s a good idea for gay people who profess a belief in Christ to find a church that lines up with their view of what the Bible teaches on homosexuality, “as if there is no right or wrong view,” chided Michael Brown.

So now Jakes is scratching his head over the controversy that erupted over an interview he did that caused some people to conclude that he condones the homosexual lifestyle, moreover his views are “evolving” on same-sex “marriage.”

Vice Publishes Pro-Bestiality Article on Their New Feminist Blog Broadly

Well, aside from the usual insipid junk about fashion, celebrities, dating, horoscopes, “the patriarchy”, and so forth, Broadly just published this new article about how bestiality is the latest progressive thing that modern-day women should embrace.

No, I’m not exaggerating.

The article is called “Animal Urges: Women and Bestiality”. It opens with this picture, setting the mood: [Comment: Evil. Pure propaganda geared towards normalization of deviancy, by repeatedly parroting the idea in media.]

Mystery Deepens: Matter and Antimatter Are Mirror Images

Matter and antimatter appear to be perfect mirror images of each other as far as anyone can see, scientists have discovered with unprecedented precision, foiling hope of solving the mystery as to why there is far more matter than antimatter in the universe.

Everyday matter is made up of protons, neutrons or electrons. These particles have counterparts known as antiparticles — antiprotons, antineutrons and positrons, respectively — that have the same mass but the opposite electric charge. (Although neutrons and antineutrons are both neutrally charged, they are each made of particles known as quarks that possess fractional electrical charges, and the charges of these quarks are equal and opposite to one another in neutrons and antineutrons.)

The known universe is composed of everyday matter. The profound mystery is, why the universe is not made up of equal parts antimatter, since the Big Bang that is thought to have created the universe 13.7 billion years ago produced equal amounts of both. And if matter and antimatter appear to be mirror images of each other in every respect save their electrical charge, there might not be much any of either type of matter left — matter and antimatter annihilate when they encounter each other.

[Comment: Perhaps the Big Bang Theory is just that…a theory.]

  1. As soon as someone starts launching mortar shells from mortar tubes, they’ll increase the penalties for launching mortar shells. That’ll fix it.

  2. An unknown person or persons placed a burning cross . . . ”

How could be a hate crime against someone who wants to kill you.

Some three words from Oz made my heart jump with joy:

    “ISIS Hunting Crew”

Ah at last the world is wakening up to hanging knife and are becoming alert as the Israelis. So at last they won’t be bleeding for those “poor occupied little philastians”

Muslims are bent on bending the world to their criminal will. 1435 years is enough to learn a lesson.

  3. “Meanwhile, the Swedish government is planning to increase the penalties for detonating grenades and other explosions.”

I actually laughed out loud reading this. I figure a box of grenades contains a gross so, Sweden only needs to withstand 104 more grenade attacks before the box Mohammed got for his birthday from his Uncle in N. Africa is depleted…

    Good luck with that.

  4. >> The one thing that many British people feel is completely un-protected and displaced by the growing number of people who have entered the country, most especially in the last 20 years. Because British values have been put aside to accommodate others, this now gives them very little sympathy. <<

And whom did the British return to power in the last election?

    Answer: The Silly Party.

Whose leader, abu D'aoud Clamberon, pledged to reduce immigration to the tens of thousands.
