Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/28/2015

In order to impede the hemorrhage of cash, banks in Greece will be shut tomorrow. Greek depositors have withdrawn more than €1.3 billion from ATMs since last Friday. Reportedly, only 40% of the country’s ATMs now contain any cash.

In other news, a group of EU-skeptics in Austria has launched a petition demanding that their country withdraw from the European Union.

Greece Holding Crisis Meet as Bank Run Looms

The ECB declined to grant extra cash to help Greece’s stricken banking system on Sunday as the government weighed up drastic new measures to contain a growing financial crisis.

As the Greek crisis intensified after talks between Athens and its creditors broke down Saturday, Greek citizens have queued at bank machines, heaping pressure on the government to impose capital controls.

Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis and the central bank chief were set to meet Sunday for an emergency meeting of the “systemic stability council”, amid increasing signs of a bank run.

Since Friday night alone, 1.3 billion euros ($1.45 billion) have been withdrawn from Greek banks, said the head of the bank workers’ union Stavros Koukos.

A banking source in Greece that requested anonymity said only 40 percent of cash machines now had money in them.

The German foreign ministry recommended that its citizens travelling to Greece “take sufficient amounts of cash” with them.

Greek Debt Crisis: ECB Not Raising Funding Limit

The European Central Bank says it not increasing its emergency funding for Greek banks, amid fears that Greece may default on its debts on Tuesday.

The decision not to raise the cap on aid to Greece increases the likelihood of bank closures and restrictions on cash withdrawals, analysts say.

That in turn could eventually result in Greece leaving the euro.

The ECB said that it stood ready to review the decision and would work closely with the Bank of Greece.

The current ceiling for the ECB’s emergency funding — Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) — is €89bn (£63bn). It is not clear if all that money has been disbursed.

Romania Falls Short of Bailout Reform Promises: EU

Romania failed to make sufficient progress in implementing promised economic reforms in exchange for rescue funds, the European Commission said in a statement late Friday after a meeting in Bucharest.

“Important steps have been taken in some areas and the macroeconomic situation is strong,” said the Commission.

“However, the overall progress in implementing the jointly agreed policy measures has not been sufficient, predominantly in relation to fiscal policy, to allow for a staff-level agreement with the Romanian authorities,” it added…

Scenario Planning for Aftermath of Greek Default

(AGI) Rome, June 26 — Until a few months ago, to hint at a Greek default was off limits: a scenario that top-ranking officials at institutions involved in the feverish negotiations on Athens’s debts refused even to take into consideration.

However, as negotiations get more and more complex with the passing of hours, it is impossible to go on hiding one’s head in the sand. Athens is due to repay the IMF 1.6 billion euros by Tuesday next. Should Athens fail to pay, two weeks after the end-of-the-month deadline, the Washington-based Institution would send Greece a reminder and, after a further two weeks without receiving the amount due, the IMF’s managing director would inform the executive board of the debtor’s state of formal insolvency. At this point the other creditors would be entitled to ask for immediate settlement of notes and other instruments held by Athens, which sits on a pile of debt totaling more than 310 billion euros. At the same time, credit default swap contracts would kick in. Greece’s only source of liquidity at present is the funds provided to Greek banks by the European Central Bank (ECB) under the Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) provision. These funds are subsequently re-invested by the banks to buy Government bonds and could no longer be used if the banks were to be considered insolvent and their collateral inadequately guaranteed. A suspension in the flow of ELA funds would trigger a bank run (already underway), which would crush the Greek banking sector. It is not even certain that eventual control imposed over short-term financial flows could be effective, in view of the huge size of this country’s underground economy. One thing is sure however: such an event would unleash a chain reaction whose consequences, too complex to foresee, would ultimately deliver a terminal blow to the Greek economy devastated by years of spendthrift waste followed by a period of too rigid austerity measures. Greece’s default could also automatically trigger the ‘Grexit’, an exit from the eurozone, whose consequences would be even less predictable and even more difficult to quantify. The only unarguable fact is that neither Brussels, nor Washington, nor Frankfurt can continue to pretend, as they seem to have done over these past long and unsuccessful months of negotiations, that the problem does not exist.

The Greek Butterfly Effect

Generally ZIRP has been sold to the public as an incentive program to stimulate lending and thereby generate wage growth & inflation. While it could be argued it had some success in certain areas such as housing, the larger evidence suggests that ZIRP is not about growth at all.

If ZIRP’s true goal were to stimulate growth the result of this:

[chart]

[…] would not have produced this:

[chart]

No, ZIRP’s true purpose is actually much more sinister:

To make global debt serviceable. To make the math work without a default.

Here’s the reality: If we had “normalized” rates tomorrow the entire financial system would collapse under the weight of the math. In short: Default.

Which brings us to Greece the butterfly, the truth and indeed the future:

Greece for all its structural faults is the most prominent victim of fictitious numbers. From the original Goldman Sachs deal to get them into the EU based on fantasy numbers and to numerous bail-outs, the simple truth has always been the same: The math doesn’t work.

It never has and it never will until there is a default on at least some of the debt.

And in this context the Greek government’s move to call for a public referendum on July 5 may be a very clever strategic move as it forces the issue of math.

Here’s the strategic frame-up:…

Greece’s referendum move risks putting a debt deal up for a vote to citizens. When has that ever happened? Have Americans every voted on their government’s debt spree? Have citizens ever had a say on their central bank’s policies and balance sheet expansions? The answer is no. This so ever important element of our global economic system is completely removed from voters.

And so Yanis Varoufakis is very much correct in highlighting this open secret:

Democracy deserved a boost in euro-related matters. We just delivered it. Let the people decide. (Funny how radical this concept sounds!)

— Yanis Varoufakis June 26, 2015

No, voters are very much not permitted to participate in this decision making process. And hence the only reason a Greek referendum may actually proceed is this: To make an example of Greece. You want to default? Watch what we will do to Greece.

The Market Detonation You’re Ignoring: “The Chinese Market is in an All-on Crash”

With the eyes of the world on Greece and a possible collapse of the of the Eurozone as a likely end result, many are ignoring a potentially much more massive elephant in the room. It’ s been the hottest market in the world, so flush with cash that they have actually built entire ghost-cities lacking populations and mega shopping centers without tenants — a clear sign of bubble waiting to be pricked. But the inevitable seems to now be taking hold as once unstoppable Chinese stock markets are now reversing the unprecedented gains seen over the last several years.

Forget Greece. We’ ve seen that story before. This could be the first domino:

The Chinese market is in an all-on crash.

Last night the Shanghai index was down 8%, and while there have been some wild recovery rallies during the last couple of weeks as well the cumulative loss is close to 20% at this point, the formal “ declaration” of a bear market.

National Park Service: Boy Bitten by Shark on NC Outer Banks

WAVES, N.C. (AP) — Officials say a 17-year-old boy is the latest victim of a shark attack off North Carolina’s coast, the second attack in as many days and the sixth attack in the past two weeks.

Rescue personnel and park rangers responded to the boy, who received what they described as injuries to his right calf, buttocks and both hands while swimming in the Outer Banks on Saturday, according to a post on the National Park Service’s Facebook page. The boy was swimming with others when he was bitten, but no one else was hurt, officials said.

The unidentified teenager was treated at the scene before being airlifted to a Norfolk, Virginia, hospital, the park service said.

No Child Left Un-Mined? Student Privacy at Risk in the Age of Big Data

The fear is that the multi-billion-dollar education technology (or “ed-tech”) industry that seeks to individualize learning and reduce drop-out rates could also pose a threat to privacy, as a rush to commercialize student data could leave children tagged for life with indicators based on their childhood performance.

“What if potential employers can buy the data about you growing up and in school?” asks mathematician Cathy O’Neil, who’s finishing a book on big data and blogs at mathbabe.org. In some of the educational tracking systems, which literally log a child’s progress on software keystroke by keystroke, “We’re giving a persistence score as young as age 7 —that is, how easily do you give up or do you keep trying? Once you track this and attach this to [a child’s] name, the persistence score will be there somewhere.” O’Neil worries that just as credit scores are now being used in hiring decisions, predictive analytics based on educational metrics may be applied in unintended ways.

Such worries came to the fore last week when educational services giant Pearson announced that they were selling the company PowerSchool, which tracks student performance, to a private equity firm for $350 million. The company was started independently; sold to Apple; then to Pearson; and now to Vista Equity Partners. Each owner in turn has to decide how to manage the records of some 15 million students across the globe, according to Pearson. The company did not sign an initiative called the Student Privacy Pledge, whose signatories promise not to sell student information or behaviorally target advertising (151 other companies including Google have signed the non-binding pledge).

Park Visitor Finds 8.52-Carat Diamond in Arkansas

(CNN)A glistening, white diamond half the size of a quarter was discovered at Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park on Wednesday, park officials said.

Shaped like an icicle, the 8.25-carat gem is the fifth-largest diamond found by a visitor to the state park since the site was established in 1972.

Park visitor Bobbie Oskarson of Longmont, Colorado, discovered the diamond while digging around the Pig Pen, a 37-acre search field inside the park named for its muddy terrain after rainfall.

At first she thought the diamond was a quartz crystal because of its size and shape, but a park staffer confirmed later that it was indeed a diamond.

“Ms. Oskarson and her boyfriend Travis Dillon saw the Crater of Diamonds State Park on an Arkansas highway map while in the nearby town of Hot Springs and decided to visit the park. And what a lucky first visit it was for her!” park interpreter Waymon Cox said in a press release.

Oskarson named her find the Esperanza Diamond, after her niece, and plans to keep the gem.

SpaceX Rocket to Space Station Explodes After Launch

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying supplies to the International Space Station (ISS) broke up shortly after liftoff today (28 June) at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This is the third supply mission to the space station that has failed since late October, when an Antares rocket made by Orbital Sciences in Dulles, Virginia, exploded during launch at NASA’s facility in Wallops Island, Virginia. In April, a Russian Progress spacecraft tumbled out of control shortly after lifting off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk offered additional details in a series of posts on Twitter. “There was an overpressure event in the upper stage liquid oxygen tank. Data suggests counterintuitive cause,” he wrote.

The Green Mirage — And Con Job

Elon Musk and his fellow barons of Climate Crisis, Inc. recently got a huge boost from Pope Francis. Musk et al. say fossil fuels are causing unprecedented warming and weather disasters. The Pope agrees and says Catholics must “ask God for a positive outcome” to negotiations over another UN climate treaty.

It matters not that the predicted calamities are not happening. There has been no warming in 19 years, no category 3-5 hurricanes making US landfall for a record 9-1/2 years, indeed none of the over-hyped climate disasters occurring in the real world outside the alarmists’ windows. In fact, poor nations support the treaty mostly because it promises some $100 billion per year in adaptation, mitigation and compensation money from FRCs: Formerly Rich Countries that have shackled their own job creation, economic growth and living standards in the name of stabilizing Earth’s perpetually fluctuating climate.

Any money that is transferred will end up in the pockets of governing elites. Poor families will get little or no cash—and will be told their dreams of better lives must be limited to jobs and living standards that can be supported by solar panels on their huts and a few wind turbines near their villages.

Simply put, the Musk-Obama-Pope-Climate Crisis schemes will save humanity from exaggerated and fabricated climate disasters decades from now—by impoverishing billions and killing millions tomorrow…

Google scientists finally admitted that existing and near-term renewable energy technologies simply do not work as advertised and cannot meet their political or climate promises. The technologies are all hat, no cattle. However, the Climate Crisis and Clean Tech industries are determined to push ahead—using our money, risking little of their own, and getting reimbursed by us when their investments turn sour.

Google and NRG now want a $539-million federal grant to bail them out of $1.6 billion in taxpayer loans for the bird-roasting Ivanpah concentrated solar power project in California, because it does not work and needs so much natural gas to keep its water hot that it doesn’t meet state renewable energy standards. Other Obama “greenbacks” energy “investments” have also drowned in red ink, leaving taxpayers to pay the tab: Solyndra, Abound Solar, Solar Trust, Ener1, Beacon Power, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

In its second case yesterday, the Supreme Court had to decide the scope of the Fair Housing Act, a law passed in 1968 that makes it unlawful to discriminate on the basis of race and other factors in connection with the sale or lease of housing. Unmanned SpaceX Rocket Explodes After Florida Launch

An unmanned SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket has exploded minutes after lift-off from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

The US company SpaceX’s rocket, which broke up over the Atlantic, was supposed to send a cargo ship to the International Space Station (ISS).

As well as carrying supplies for the astronauts, the rocket had also been transporting a new docking port.

It is the Falcon-9 rocket’s first failure in 19 launches.

It was SpaceX’s third failure at the manoeuvre — bids in January and April also failed.

But the mission failure could present difficulties for America’s plans to start launching its own astronauts back into space, which it hasn’t done since 2011 when the shuttles were retired.

Here is Denmark’s New Government

Lars Løkke Rasmussen officially assumed the role of Denmark’s prime minister on Sunday morning following a meeting with Queen Margrethe II.

Rasmussen also released the names of his cabinet team, made up solely of members of his own Venstre party. Rasmussen decided to go it solo on Friday night after talks with other right-of-centre parties failed to reach consensus.

Rasmussen was selected to become prime minister following the June 18 election despite Venstre finishing in third place with 19.5 percent of the vote, behind Helle Thorning-Schmidt’s Social Democrats and the far-right Danish People’s Party (DF), which saw support jump to 21.1 percent from 12.3 percent.

Despite the poor election performance, Rasmussen became PM due to the support of DF, Liberal Alliance and the Conservatives.

With just 34 mandates, the Venstre government will be Denmark’s smallest since 1973. That government, led by Venstre’s Poul Hartling, had just 22 mandates behind it and lasted only 14 months.

Scotland: Police Files on Child Sex Abuse at Gordonstoun School Have Vanished

Official files on police investigations of child abuse at Gordonstoun, the school in the Scottish Highlands that educated the Queen’s sons and Prince Philip, appear to have gone missing or been destroyed.

In a case investigated by the Observer, a teacher named Derek Jones seriously sexually assaulted a number of children attending the junior school around 1990. He was twice questioned by police in the following years after the children told their parents what had happened. Files were forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal, Scotland’s prosecution service, but it was decided not to prosecute. The files would normally be retained, but Scotland’s Crown Office says they now cannot be found.

Jones died in a car crash in Kenya six years ago. But two of his victims, now in their 30s, want to discover why he was not prosecuted. Gordonstoun sacked Jones, who had been an English teacher in the junior school for three months. The school’s bursar told the boys’ parents that the school would ensure he never taught again.

Like you and me, whether she wants to be or not, the Queen is a citizen of the European Union.

As far as our rulers in Brussels are concerned, Her Majesty can stand for the European Parliament and vote in the elections for it. She doesn’t, but she could.

She may claim to be ‘By the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith’ but in the eyes of the EU (which doesn’t believe in God or Faith) she’s just Citizen Liz.

Under EU law (Article 20, Paragraph Two of the Treaty of Rome, since you ask), she is ‘subject to the duties’ which the EU decides to require of its citizens. There aren’t any yet. But I can promise you that there will be as ‘ever closer union’ plods steadily on.

When this country was still independent, the Queen was the one who had subjects. Now, she is subject to others. Forget the Coronation Oath and a thousand years of the British constitution. Our sovereign is someone else’s subject.

Can she, in that case, still be our sovereign?

Australian IS Fighter ‘Still Alive’ After Drone Strike: Report

Canberra was Sunday attempting to verify whether an Australian Islamic State group fighter, notorious for being photographed with severed heads, had survived a drone attack after a report said he was still alive.

Australian media last week reported that two of the country’s most wanted IS jihadists, Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar, were believed killed in a drone strike in Syria.

But highly classified photographs of the Predator strike have only confirmed the death of Elomar, with no indications that Sharrouf also perished, The Sunday Telegraph reported…

Kuwait Shia Mosque Attack: Bomber ‘Was Saudi’

Kuwait says the attacker who carried out Friday’s suicide bombing at a Shia mosque was a Saudi citizen.

The interior ministry named the bomber as Fahd Suleiman Abdulmohsen al-Qaba’a, according to state media.

The ministry said he flew into Kuwait on Friday just hours before he detonated explosives at the mosque, killing at least 27 people.

The Islamic State group — which regards Shia Muslims as heretics — says it was behind the attack.

Last month, an IS branch in Saudi Arabia carried out bombings on consecutive Fridays on Shia mosques there.

US ‘Playing With Fire’ By Extremely Provocative Moves, Not Russia: American Scholar

The growing conflict between the United States and Russia over the Ukraine conflict is a result of Washington struggling to maintain its hegemony and making “extremely provocative moves” in Eastern Europe, according to an American political and economic scholar.

“The conflict that Washington has created with Russia is entirely Washington’s doing,” said Paul Craig Roberts, an economist who served as an assistant secretary of the treasury for economic policy in the Ronald Reagan administration…

“Washington is the one who organized the coup in Ukraine, which is a strategic threat to Russia, Washington is pushing NATO to put more tanks and troops and artillery and missile bases on Russia’s borders,” he said.

“Washington is involved in color revolutions in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, Washington has pulled out of the ABM treaty, has announced it is putting ballistic missile bases on Russia’s border, Washington has rewritten American strategic war doctrine to permit preemptive nuclear first-strike,” Roberts observed.

Gambia Cancels Expulsion of ‘Hezbollah-Linked’ Lebanese Tycoon

The Gambian government has withdrawn its expulsion of a powerful business magnate accused by the United States of funding the Lebanese militant movement Hezbollah.

Lebanese-Gambian multi-millionaire Hussein Tajudeen, a former close friend of President Yahya Jammeh, had been ordered to leave the country earlier this month for “unacceptable business practices that are detrimental to the Gambian economy,” according to the presidency.

But the government said Saturday that the decision to expel the businessman and his associates had been “rescinded”…

South Africa: Illegal Gold Rush Turns Deadly

Sophisticated gangs that are armed with semi-automatic weapons such as R5s and AK47s and explosives are at war over the control of illegal mining operations in Gauteng, Free State and Northern Cape — but the situation in Gauteng is getting out of hand.

And the police appear to be unable to deal with underground shootings as they fear for their lives — they have not been trained to deal with such situations.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura made this startling revelation during a media briefing at his Bryanston, Joburg, home this week.

“Well-organised armed gangs are fighting it out underground in illegal mining activities. They are operating from Germiston in the east to Krugersdorp in the west. Police are regularly removing bodies from the shafts, and this is of great concern to us,” Makhura said.

Hawks spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed “the situation is very serious”.

“Just this past week several arrests have been made in crimes relating to illegal mining,” he said.

At least 20 people have recently been nabbed smuggling explosives into South Africa from Zimbabwe.

Britain Sends Two Mile Fence to France to Stop Migrants Hiding in Lorries Boarding Channel Tunnel Trains

Britain is to send a two-mile long fence to France to stop illegal migrants boarding Channel Tunnel trains.

Security around the train line at Coquelles and the ferry port of Calais is being stepped up after a dramatic escalation in the number of people trying to sneak into Britain.

Home Secretary Theresa May said she wanted to send a ‘very clear message’ that people will not be able to get through to the UK but ruled out searching all vehicles once they arrive on British soil.

Migrants have been seen trying to hide in vehicles waiting to board Channel Tunnel services at Coquelles and at the ferry port of Calais.

Up to 3,000 people are now living in a makeshift camp at Calais while attempting to find a way to reach Britain.

Germany: Bavarian School Warns Girls Should Dress ‘Modestly, ‘ Due to Syrian Refugees Nearby

Germans are expected to change their ways for immigrants.

A school in Bavaria, Germany, has sent a letter to parents, asking them to ensure their daughters refrain from wearing revealing clothes, because refugee accommodation has been set up next to the school’s gym.

Two hundred Syrian refugees have been living for a week near the Wilhelm-Diess-Gymnasium’s gym, Die Welt reported.

The gym was shut down and PE lessons relocated to a primary school in the vicinity.

The head teacher also rushed to inform parents about additional security measures. “For the refugees, access to the school gardens and buildings is strictly forbidden. The same goes for the school grounds during the day. The number of teachers on duty during breaks has been increased,” Martin Thalhammer wrote.

He went on to warn the students against wearing immodest clothes.

“The Syrian citizens are mainly Muslims and speak Arabic. The refugees are marked by their own culture. Because our school is directly next to where they are staying, modest clothing should be adhered to. Revealing tops or blouses, shorts or miniskirts could lead to misunderstandings,” Thalhammer added as quoted by the Local.

In addition, the school asked to refrain absolutely from “direct eyeballing, ogling or taking pictures.”

“Derogatory or racial remarks cannot be tolerated in any way,” the letter concluded.

Italy: Immigrants Camp in Construction Site of Rome Train Station

(AGI) Rome, June 26 — Immigrants have set up a semi-permanent camp next to the construction site of Rome’s Tuscolana train station, often crossing the site itself completely unimpaired during working hours. In the open air camp, beds, pans and cookers are placed only metres away from the tracks and wagons, with some immigrants putting their clothing out to dry on makeshift laundry lines. Some of the immigrants have already been living in the camp for some time, while others are new arrivals. One family comprising a mother, father, and their little girl — possibly born in the camp itself — built their home out of metal sheets and covers inside the construction yard itself, past the safety fence and surrounded by noise and dust. They are regularly seen traversing the site with their stroller. But they are not the only ones who trespass onto the “staff only” area and walk down the tracks towards other more central stations. Local residents have urged both the railway authority and police to intervene. But clearing the area, which borders a major road, would also mean moving the immigrants from dozens of make-do shelters in abandoned buildings and even old electrical substations. Some of the immigrants even managed to obtain keys to closed buildings alongside the tracks, once shops and storage spaces whose ownership is unclear, now transformed into crammed living spaces. The situation is similar at the Ostiense station, which is currently being renovated, with the sidewalks covered by pallets and garbage and some immigrants unabashedly washing themselves in full view of commuters. Makeshift homes made from covers and plastic sheets or inside unused cabins also dot the tracks to Fiumicino, with trains zipping past the camps and growing mounds of trash.

Alito Warns: Defenders of Traditional Marriage Now Risk Being Treated as Bigots by Governments, Employers, Schools

In his dissent from the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which declared that same-sex marriage is a right, Justice Samuel Alito said the court had falsely likened opposition to same-sex marriage to racism and that its decision “will be used to vilify Americans unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy.”

Alito warned that in the wake of the court’s ruling, Americans who dare to publicly express views in favor the traditional understanding that marriage is between a man and a woman will risk recrimination.

“I assume that those who cling to old beliefs will be able to whisper their thoughts in the recesses of their homes, but if they repeat those views in public, they will risk being labeled as bigots and treated as such by governments, employers, and schools,” Alito wrote.

“By imposing its own views on the entire country,” he said, “the majority facilitates the marginalization of the many Americans who have traditional ideas.”

Here is a key excerpt from Alito’s dissent:

Today’s decision usurps the constitutional right of the people to decide whether to keep or alter the traditional understanding of marriage. The decision will also have other important consequences. It will be used to vilify Americans who are unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy. In the course of its opinion, the majority compares traditional marriage laws to laws that denied equal treatment for African-Americans and women. E.g., ante, at 11—13. The implications of this analogy will be exploited by those who are determined to stamp out every vestige of dissent.

Perhaps recognizing how its reasoning may be used, the majority attempts, toward the end of its opinion, to reassure those who oppose same-sex marriage that their rights of conscience will be protected. Ante, at 26—27. We will soon see whether this proves to be true. I assume that those who cling to old beliefs will be able to whisper their thoughts in the recesses of their homes, but if they repeat those views in public, they will risk being labeled as bigots and treated as such by governments, employers, and schools.

The system of federalism established by our Constitution provides a way for people with different beliefs to live together in a single nation. If the issue of same-sex marriage had been left to the people of the States, it is likely that some States would recognize same-sex marriage and others would not. It is also possible that some States would tie recognition to protection for conscience rights. The majority today makes that impossible. By imposing its own views on the entire country, the majority facilitates the marginalization of the many Americans who have traditional ideas. Recalling the harsh treatment of gays and lesbians in the past, some may think that turn- about is fair play. But if that sentiment prevails, the Nation will experience bitter and lasting wounds.

America’s Only Remaining Choices — Civil Disobedience or Collapse

The United States no longer has, as the Constitution designed, a government composed of executive, legislative and judicial branches, separate, but equal in power.

After the successful 1917 communist revolution in Russia, it was widely believed that a proletarian revolt would sweep across Europe and, ultimately, North America. It did not.

As a result, the Communist International began to investigate other ways to create the state of societal hopelessness and alienation necessary as a prerequisite for socialist revolution — in essence, to destroy western democracy from within.

The single, most important organizational component of this conspiracy was a Communist think tank called the Institute for Social Research, popularly known as the Frankfurt School. The task of the Frankfurt School was first, to undermine the Judeo-Christian foundation of Western civilization that emphasized the uniqueness and sacredness of the individual and, second, to determine new cultural forms which would increase the disaffection of and division among the population.

Just as in classical economic Marxism, certain groups, i.e. workers and peasants, are a priori good, and other groups, i.e., the bourgeoisie and capital owners, are evil; in Cultural Marxism feminist women, racial and ethnic minorities and those who define themselves according to sexual orientation are deemed good and “ victims” of societal injustice. Similarly, white males and “ privilege” and, by extension, Western civilization, are automatically and irredeemably malevolent.

Sound familiar? It has been the playbook of the American left for over sixty years. The aim is not to solve social injustice or protect “ rights, “ of which the left can concoct an endless supply, but to undermine and topple Western democracy.

The new element in this formula, using the “ enemy of my enemy is my friend” paradigm, is what David Horowitz described as an unholy alliance between leftists and radical Islam.

Liberals Attacking Confederate Flag Tolerate ISIS Throwing Gays Off Buildings

Unlike the Confederate flag, leftists aren’t demonizing the ISIS flag even though ISIS militants are throwing gays off of high-rise buildings.

Not long after the Supreme Court made a decision on same-sex marriages, ISIS posted a video showing four gay men being thrown to their deaths in the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor.

“Hundreds of people living under the Islamic caliphate gathered to watch the brutal execution,” the Mirror reported. “Spectators can be heard gasping in an atrocious scene as the men died one after another, with their corpses piling up on the ground.”

But even though leftists spent the past week purging the Confederate flag as a so-called symbol of oppression, so far there’s been no nationwide call to similarly ban the ISIS flag.

Liberals Are Normalizing the Abnormal, Marginalizing the Majority

Blatant lies, deception endlessly justified, Corruption, treasonous behavior are no longer punished, right is wrong, wrong is right

Young Americans, who live in a distorted world manufactured by the progressive academia and the deceitful main stream media, have no idea what they are asking for or what they are admiring.

As Michael J. Totten said, “…anti-establishment young people all over the world have Che’s face on their walls and their T-shirts. Most of them don’t know anything real about the man they admire. They have no idea he was one of the most violently illiberal establishment figures in the Western Hemisphere’s history. They admire the image, which is and always has been a fraud.”

But we must destroy our own history and all the symbolism attached to it and remake our American past in the fake vision of liberalism that wants to shape the youth of the world into global citizens. The only country that stands in the way is the United States. But this former bastion is crumbling day by day into the dustbin of the former empires. It is falling from within through the work of its elected self-serving representatives and the ignorant and dishonest voters.

Illegal aliens and amnesty must be our number one priority, we are told ad nauseam, they represent a significant and very important voting block for all politicians; money is no object in pleasing them, while benefits to veterans and to the military are being cut.

America is so “unjust”: Must change, make it like those perfect socialist, bankrupt European countries liberals envy and admire. Everyone is “equal” on paper and “social justice” reigns supreme in theory, basking in the glory of failed multiculturalism.

America must change because it has had a good run as an “evil empire,” we are told by progressive admirers of Marx, Engels, Stalin, Lenin, and Mao.

Any perversion that violates religious beliefs and family values must be taught to our children starting in kindergarten, without parental approval. “Free-range parenting,” another liberal category constructed to demean our worth and bring us down to animal level, is verboten. Parents who engage in such practices that allow kids to be kids, play outdoors, or home-school them away from the destructive Common Core, must be arrested and stripped of their rights.

Miley Cyrus: Belief in Noah’s Ark is ‘Insane’

I met one of Miley Cyrus’s personal pilots several years ago. He told me that he had flown Miley since she was a young girl, and complimented the sincerity of her faith and moral convictions. He assured me that she would not go the way of so many professing believers who trade character for fame.

Unfortunately, Miley has not fulfilled her pilot’s prediction. For instance, she recently described people who believe Noah’s Ark was real: “That’s [expletive] insane.” She added: “We’ve outgrown that fairy tale, like we’ve outgrown [expletive] Santa and the tooth fairy.”

Then she discussed her sexuality: “I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult—anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”

Sundays Will Never be the Same

Now that Gay Day June 26th has come to pass, and Barack Obama had the White House flooded in the colours of the gay rainbow, Sundays will never be the same. Sunday, that is, as the day Christians come to church to worship the Creator. The progressives want Sunday, and as sure as Lucifer is now calling the shots, they will be coming for it.

Sunday, the day of rest, will ultimately become the day of arrest.

While the witch-hunt against Confederate flags, statues, paintings and even stained glass windows continues to distract the masses, it’s really the churches Big Government most covet.

Before too long churches of every denomination will be incubators for ridding society of Christianity.

The Supreme Court Has Ruled: Principled People Will Not Obey!

The Court Jesters have made their ruling, now let them try to force thinking and committed Americans to accept perversion as normal, natural, and noble

If laws that are contrary to the Constitution can be written by unelected officials then why do we have a Constitution? It means we are living under tyranny.

As a consequence of this opinion, everyone and all organizations will react. U.S. legislators must consider the “good behavior” clause in Article III, Section I of the Constitution that requires them to remove an erring justice from the court. That will happen when Hell has an enormous drop in temperature which can’t happen according to my theological beliefs. America will be free from the tyrants only when some of them reach room temperature.

State governors have an opportunity to affirm their sovereign authority and say, “We will not comply. You gave an opinion over something beyond your responsibility. We will not permit or give approval to behavior that is a threat to civilization.

Same-sex ‘marriages’ will not be recognized in this state.” Then, the Court will charge the governors with contempt (which the governors will be guilty of as I am but I’m doing my best to conceal my contempt) and send U.S. Marshalls to arrest them. The governors can choose to use state troopers in their defense or choose not to do so. Bad position to be in but then no one asked for this except homosexuals and those whose highest ambition and reason for living is to satisfy homosexuals.

Turkish Police Use Teargas, Water Cannon to Disperse Gay Pride March

Turkish police fired water cannon and rubber pellets to disperse a crowd gathered in central Istanbul on Sunday for the city’s annual gay pride parade.

It was not immediately clear why the police stopped the marchers gathering. The parade has been held in Istanbul in previous years, leading some to dub it the largest gay pride event in the Muslim world.

However, this year the timing of the parade coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, something that could cause conservative Muslims to bristle.
