The Plight of Christians in Syria

The audio track in the following video is a phone conversation with a Syrian Christian that was aired on French television. The woman on the phone describes the horrific brutality of the Syrian “rebels” — who, incidentally, are supported by the USA and the EU — against the rapidly dwindling Christian community in Syria.

Many thanks to Oz-Rita for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling.

WARNING: The photos shown in this video are graphic. Readers who are sensitive to images of brutality and violent death may want to simply listen to the audio track, or read the transcript:

00:00   In the towns and villages which are occupied by
00:04   armed jihadists and extremist Muslim groups
00:08   they are offered conversion or
00:12   death, sometimes there is a demand for a ransom.
00:16   So: conversion, ransom or death.
00:20   Renouncing their faith is not possible, so they become
00:24   martyrs via extremely inhuman methods,
00:28   of such extreme violence that it has no name. e.g.: in (town name?)
00:32   they crucified two youths
00:36   because they refused conversion.
00:40   ”You have the choice to die for your master in whom you believe,
00:44   to convert or to be crucified, so we will be crucified”…
00:48   (he?) was crucified in front of his dad, and once he was on the cross, they killed his dad.
00:52   Another example: in the industrial zone
00:56   in the suburbs of Damas. Entering town, they started
01:00   killing, women and children,
01:04   and after the massacre they played football with their heads.
01:08   Faced with those atrocities, how can they live from day to day?
01:12   Some go towards more quiet zones, either
01:16   to their parents’ or friends’ places. Food is in short supply.
01:20   In some places there are some vegetables, extremely expensive.
01:24   The cost of living has increased by + 500 %.
01:28   Some of them still get a little salary,
01:32   but even going to their work
01:36   is risky; they don’t know if they will come back alive.
01:40   Ditto for children going to school or youth going to university.
01:44   In order not to let the people become
01:48   totally fatalistic, some institutions continue
01:52   with those who can reach them. How did Christians live
01:56   before it became as it is now?
02:00   Syria is a secular country;
02:04   there was a conviviality between Christians and
02:08   Muslims. They accepted, they lived.
02:13   Unfortunately the events happened. In the beginning they supported
02:17   each other, even still now. The minority
02:21   who are neutral continue this support,
02:25   but before the events we lived very well, it’s the only country
02:29   where Christians could practice, go and come freely.
02:33   There was a security which is found
02:37   in no neighbouring country.
02:41   Two-thirds of Christians have already left the country.
02:45   We were already not many, but after the threats
02:49   and the massacres of (names of towns?).
02:53   Despite the appeals of our patriarchs we said: let’s save the children.
02:57   Our pope says, “you must not leave,”
03:01   ”you have to stay etc.,” but those who remain
03:05   are people who have no means to leave, or
03:09   have been refused a visa. And what hopes have you?
03:13   There will be men of good will,
03:17   as there are now who work for the return of peace,
03:21   who lead actions and bear witness
03:25   and (…?) fraternity despite the politics.
03:29   They continue to pray and say “nobody dies before his time is up”.

  1. I had an interesting experience during my recent visit to the USA. I visited a small shop selling foods from the middle east. The lady was EXTRA-honest and nice. I could tell she was arab by her accent, but somehow did not seem like a muslim. Upon some questioning, she revealed that she was Syrian Christian, but that even revealing that openly in the US could be somewhat risky (maybe only to her business, maybe more). What a shame.

  2. Baron, any way you can counter the “Islam is sooooo beautiful” BS that is funded by Saudi money. For example, look at this:
    http://islamicpamphlets.com/why-islam-the-beauty-and-benefits-of-islam/

(Every single one of the statements made above is not only false, it is almost the opposite of what is true)

I saw a good amount of such advertising in Silicon Valley on my trip there. Money talks, BS walks, as they say. Since Islam is propped up by gulf oil money, it can be laundered clean of its crimes, and sold as a “beautiful” faith. That is a real danger, because American society is susceptible to a good marketing campaign.

    • beauty in any case is in the eye of the beholder. muslims must exist behind the fabled beer goggles where the most plain barmaid starts to look more beautiful as the night wears on and the beer flows.

    • It’s funny how the Religion is now being propped up by massive amounts of oil in the Arabian Peninsula, back in the 600s when it started, the expansions by the Scimitar were mainly made possible by being propped up by massive amounts of gold in Hedjaz/the western Arabian Peninsula mountain range.

  3. Christian’s Everywhere looking for peace and prosperity..nothing to do with Islam sickness.
Christians in Islam world are suffering since birth of Islam
the Christian in the Western and Eastern world need to wake up before too late..opening all gates to Islam immigration very wrong.
IT IS FAITH TO DESTROY NOT TO BUILD.

  4. As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
    United States — Muslim 0.6%
    Australia — Muslim 1.5%
    Canada — Muslim 1.9%
    China — Muslim 1.8%
    Italy — Muslim 1.5%
    Norway — Muslim 1.8%
At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and
among street gangs. This is happening in:
    Denmark — Muslim 2%
    Germany — Muslim 3.7%
    United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
    Spain — Muslim 4%
    Thailand — Muslim 4.6%
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to
their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the
introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby
securing food preparation jobs for Muslims.
They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply.
    This is occurring in:
    France — Muslim 8%
    Philippines — Muslim 5%
    Sweden — Muslim 5%
    Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
    The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
    Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow
them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic
Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the
    entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase
lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris ,
    we are already seeing car-burnings.
Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and
threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and
films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim
    sections, in:
    Guyana — Muslim 10%
    India — Muslim 13.4%
    Israel — Muslim 16%
    Kenya — Muslim 10%
    Russia — Muslim 15%
After reaching 20% , nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
    Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%
At 40% , nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
    Bosnia — Muslim 40%
    Chad — Muslim 53.1%
    Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%
From 60% , nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers
of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic
ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya,
the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
    Albania — Muslim 70%
    Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%
    Qatar — Muslim 77.5%
    Sudan — Muslim 70%*
After 80% , expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:
    Bangladesh — Muslim 83%
    Egypt — Muslim 90%
    Gaza — Muslim 98.7%
    Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%
    Iran — Muslim 98%
    Iraq — Muslim 97%
    Jordan — Muslim 92%
    Morocco — Muslim 98.7%
    Pakistan — Muslim 97%
    Palestine — Muslim 99%
    Syria — Muslim 90%
    Tajikistan — Muslim 90%
    Turkey — Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates — Muslim 96%
100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
    Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
    Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
    Somalia — Muslim 100%
    Yemen — Muslim 100%
Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the
most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood
lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.
