Geert Wilders Goose-Steps Across Europe Again

From Politically Incorrect via Vlad Tepes, here is a video and an accompanying article about the latest TV snoid to refer to Geert Wilders as a “Nazi”, this one in Austria.

Many thanks to Carpe Diem for both translations, and to Vlad Tepes for subtitling the video:

The Politically Incorrect article:

Was it just a slip of the tongue, or was it an intentional defamation of Geert Wilders?

On May 22nd, presenter of Austria’s TV channel “Plus 4”, Norbert Oberhauser (picture), called Geert Wilders and other EU-sceptic politicians “National Socialists” or briefly “Nazis” on his show “Guten Abend Österreich” (Good evening Austria).

It is just unacceptable to defame the famous Dutch politician and leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), Geert Wilders, as a National Socialist, since he is known as a great friend of Israel. If you disagree with Mr Norbert Oberhauser, you can contact Plus 4 TV:

Vlad added his two cents’ worth (Canadian):

I would like to add, that Geert Wilders falls politically into the category of classical liberal and would have been called a pinko commie’ by much of the US mainstream of the 1950s for his defense of gay rights and Jewish people. To call him a Nazi is the height of deception.

Video transcript:

0:00   The same line takes the right party from Geert Wilders in the Netherlands.
0:04
0:08   There, a very low voter participation is expected.
0:12   Wilder’s Party for Freedom (PVV) could make the second place.
0:16   With a sticker campaign he even provoked international trade sanctions.
0:20   The sticker read: Islam is a lie, the Prophet is a crook and the Quran is poisonous.
0:24   Hence, according to polls
0:28   the NATIONAL SOCIALISTS in Europe are gaining ground.

  1. IMHO. Stone me if you wish but it is my understanding that “national socialist” without the added adjective “german” means exactly what it says: “national socialist”. Wilders is a nationalist, wants his country liberated from the multicultural usurpers. That does not by any means implies anti-semitism, anti-gayism, anti-feminism, anti-etc.

  2. Well IMHO, firstly, no-one wishes to stone you for your views, since this is not an Islamic website.

However, the term “National Socialist” is well defined and understood without your strange interpretation. And yes, it means “anti-semitism, anti-gayism, anti-feminism, anti-etc.”, and one doesn’t have to be German to be a National Socialist.

Moreover, Geert Wilders is not a nationalist, but a patriot. If you don’t know the difference, please, look it up in a dictionary.

By the way, you forgot to explain the term “Socialist” to us…

    • Everyone who try to protect its country from the economic and political unelected supra structure called the EU and from the same internationally socialist EU that tries by all means to repress any national character of its member-states, is a national socialist. Economies in western Europe were never real free market economies. I don’t like the term “capitalist” because it sounds too marxist to me. So all in all I don’t see anything wrong with the use of the term in this context. But again, that’s me, only me.

  3. You said it: It’s just you.

No worries, though I completely disagree with your definition of National Socialism, I’m not gonna stone you anyway. 🙂

  4. Anyone familiar with world history would realize that the real NAZIs worked hand in glove with Islam – there were even special Muslim SS companies used in the Balkans paid for and propagandized by the real NAZIs.

That is not what Wilders stands for.

I would therefore treat with the contempt it deserves, the assertion that Wilders is National Socialist or Nazi.

BTW, one can be a Nationalist as well as a Patriot.

    • You give away that in fact you understood what I am saying. NAZI stands for Nazional Socialismus – German national socialism of Hitler &Co. I was referring to a today nationalist in Western Europe who is against the islamization of his country.

      • The English word “national” is also spelled the same way in German. It is not “Nazional.” However, as we pronounce it “Nash-en-all” the Germans pronounce it “Not-See-Oh-Nal.”

  5. That stupid discussion was a minute of my life I’ll never get back. I am a huge fan of the Baron and Dymphna, and I thank you again for all your work. Also Vlad and his Canadian translations. This nitter natter never works for me.

  6. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Gatestone Institute reports that the PVV has formed an alliance with Le Pen. I admire GV, but this calls his anti-racist, and especially anti-Jew hatred, credentials into question.

      • On second thought, why bother. If you want to arrive at your beliefs via your feelings, be my guest. One cannot argue with a person’s ‘reasons’ who did not use his God-given faculty of Reason to arrive at those beliefs…

So tell me: what policy papers of Marine LePen’s did you read before forming your opinion about the wisdom of Wilders’ alliance?

        • Apologies- I’d assumed Le Pen followed her father’s line here. Should have checked!

  7. National Socialism was a hotchpotch of ideas, from the left and the right, German mysticism, unresolved matters of wwI and resentments against supranational capitalism. Mix all that with politically motivated violence and standover tactics and you have the NAZI movement of the 20’s and 30’s. All these ideas where the ratcheted up and up morphing into Aryanism and Nihilism.
National Socialism was and is not a coherent political philosophy, and it is this malleability that makes it perfect for political smear tactics of today.
