Canadian Anglican university offers course on islamic dawa techniques for Muslims only

The magnitude of the wrongness of this story requires at the very least, two aspirins. Be forewarned.

From the National Post:

The Huron College course — The Muslim Voice: Islamic Preaching, Public Speaking and Worship — was, according to the syllabus, “open to Muslim men and women who offer religious leadership and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of their communities.

Geoff Robins for National Post:

The Huron College course — The Muslim Voice: Islamic Preaching, Public Speaking and Worship — was, according to the syllabus, “open to Muslim men and women who offer religious leadership and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of their communities.

A London, Ont., university is defending its decision to restrict access to a course that teaches Muslims how to proselytize.

The Huron College course — The Muslim Voice: Islamic Preaching, Public Speaking and Worship — was, according to the syllabus, “open to Muslim men and women who offer religious leadership and/or speak publicly about Islam on behalf of their communities.” The school allowed a non-Muslim to enrol in the course, but then kicked him out because, they said, they didn’t want to open the course to auditors.

A few words about the teacher of this course:

Mattson is a convert to islam. She has been compared to Tariq Ramadan in terms of her methodology and goals. She was also past president of ISNA and the first convert to be so.

  1. Here’s the course outline on Pastoral Theology 5235B: The Muslim Voice: Islamic Teaching, Public Speaking, and Worship

    http://www.huronuc.ca/Assets/website/Document/FOT/CourseOutlines/PT%205235b%202013%2014%20R.pdf

    Professor Ingrid Mattson; imattson@uwo.ca

    Course Description and Goals:
This course aims to improve the skills and knowledge of individuals who engage in one or more of the following three practices: 1) preaching in Islamic contexts 2) representing Muslims in public worship services and interfaith events 3) engaging in public speaking about Islam on behalf of Muslim communities.

  2. Can almost be compared to those churches who have embraced ” Chrislam” . I believe Rick Warren the ” Evangelical” introduced this heresy ? With many churches ” catching on”to this new trend .
Not held in mosques of course, they would not tolerate infidels in their ” holy places”but ( Western) Christians can’t wait to demonstrate their ” love” and tolerance .( Not towards middle-East persecuted Christians of course, they ignore their plight slaughtered like chickens by Muslims)
On each pew a Bible together with a Quran. Who would deny their children such a multi-faith experience ! ( as long as they aren’t Catholics, all should be well )

  3. Disgusting but not surprising given that our colleges are run by Cultural Marxists. Mattson probably started out as a empty headed Leftist and hence hostile to Christianity and the West like most of her ilk thus the perfect target for Dawa.

The muzzies like her kind, they make great front men and women for the invasion. They present the face of humanity that is palatable to a bunch of gullible Westerners rather than the face of mindless brutality, eternal oppression and mass murder that is the reality of Islam.

  5. I just can’t fathom what it is about islam that makes supposedly normal, sane people do things like this.

  6. Are there any courses being taught about how to resist the claims of a profane religion from a foreign culture that carries with it a corrupt political ideology?
Muslim claims must not be honored.
    Muslim “theology” is a joke.

  7. “A few words about the teacher of this course:

Mattson is a convert to islam. ”

Ingrid Mattson is much more than that:

Ingrid Mattson: She spoke at both of Obama’s Democratic Conventions (and received warm applause, of course) and participated in an “interfaith gathering” there. She is a Canadian convert to Islam who wears a bizarre outfit combining the traditional Islamic hijab for women with something that looks like something out of Star Trek.

More importantly, she was president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The ISNA was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case. The ISNA was also named as a “friend” of the Muslim Brotherhood in the infamous May 1991 Brotherhood memorandum that spoke of Muslim organizations in the U.S. being dedicated to “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands. . . so that. . . God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

Ms. Mattson is also, according to this fine article by Frank Gaffney, “director of the Macdonald Center for the Study of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations at the Hartford Seminary in Connecticut. Her program is used to credential Muslim chaplains for U.S. prisons and our military.”

In this capacity, one of the classes she teaches on the Koran uses texts by two Islamic scholars who have inspired modern Islamic terrorists: Syed Abul A’la Maududi and Sayyid Qutb.

About Maududi’s work, Ms. Mattson has said that it is “probably the best work of [Koranic commentary] in English.”

Here is what Maududi has written:

“Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the Earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam regardless of the country or the nation which rules it. The purpose of Islam is to set up a state on the basis of its own ideology and program, regardless of which nation assumes the role of the standard bearer of Islam or the rule of which nation is undermined in the process of the establishment of an ideological Islamic State. . . Islam does not intend to confine this revolution to a single State or a few countries; the aim of Islam is to bring about a universal revolution.”

  8. On every level this is wrong. The university had better back off on this whole course, which I thinking it will. Mind you they did get millions from an unknown source, but any Canadian taxpayer money to this must be aproved. sorry i am new to the tablet and can’t figure how to ge rid of some of i . waste of time but i stand by what i said.t by

  9. They move through our institutions almost supernaturally with access to the powers that be which is clearly beyond what would be their normal station in the World – it is enough to send an evil chill up the spine thinking about it.
