KGS at Tundra Tabloids just sent us the following message about the attack being mounted against his site:
Tundra Tabloids is currently undergoing a massive DDOS attack, and is working with technicians in trying to counter the flow that brought it down.
He advises his readers to be patient: TT will be back up and running as soon as possible.
Thanks for that info! Much appreciated and I hope TT is back up and running soon.
And it’s up and running again.
The attack vector used has been closed, so a direct repeat of this attack won’t happen.
I consider DoS attack a badge of honour, it shows that someone out there is taking notice, percieving a threat, and taking action to make the information posted unavailable – probably also as a threat to others who might post the same.
As a corollary, mirroring the contents of sites under DoS attack is a good strategy.
