Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

Sure do miss “the Baron” (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

In honor of his return I’ve made a batch of gumbo, modified to suit what we had on hand.

And then we gonna dance….

  1. Aw, so cute you two missing each other!!! I wonder if L’Angelus has ever performed with any of Canada’s Cape Breton or Canadian Down East groups, what a match for L’Acadie. Dance your hearts out and enjoy the gumbo. Baron, I was afraid it was another needle in the eye.

    • Canada has some amazingly wonderful home-grown music. The move of the Acadians down to Louisiana enriched the area immesurably.

There is nothign quite like zydeco, though. Creole thru and thru

  2. I do enjoy that Cajun music ! IIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE ! Living in the central part of Louisiana I occasionally get to hear some !

    • Lucky you!

I used to visit Nawlins and Ville Platte. Maybe sometime I’ll find an excuse to put up a video of Cajun talk. When the girls I knew would speak to one another and try to include me, they swore they were speaking English. What a patois – but fascinating to listen to.

I love to cook Cajun but have had to cut waaay back on the amount of brown roux. Can’t leave it out entirely though or the food loses its spirit.

BTW, despite the bad press, you have an excellent governor.

    • Yeyus, suh!

You get your fine self up on that dance floor. You do you some moves now – stepping quick and high…
