Fictional and Dangerous Propaganda

The recent report about the Norwegian in Dubai woman who was convicted for “having sex outside of marriage” after reporting being raped has gained international attention. The fact that she was subsequently fired by her employer has served to add fuel to the outrage.

Fjordman has just posted a survey of material on “Sharia and Rape”, placing the incident in Dubai in its larger context of sexual predation by Muslims against non-Muslims, which is condoned by Islamic tradition and law.

Below is a report from the Canadian channel CTV featuring an apologist for Islam who earnestly endeavors to paint the “justice” system of Dubai as misunderstanding and misinterpreting Islam. Regular readers know, of course, that the decision in Dubai is in accord with every jot and tittle of Islamic law.

Vlad Tepes has augmented the news segment with some commentary of his own, drawing on the Koran and Reliance of the Traveller to make his points:

Here are the relevant sections excerpted by Vlad from ’Umdat al-salik wa ’uddat al-nasik, or The reliance of the traveller and tools of the worshipper, which is commonly referred to as Reliance of the Traveller when cited in English.

This an authoritative source on Sunni Islamic law, because it is certified as such by Al-Azhar University in Cairo. There is no higher authority on Sunni Islamic doctrine than Al-Azhar; it is the closest equivalent to the Vatican that can be found in Islam.

From Chapter O, “Justice”, Section 12.0”: The Penalty for Fornication or Sodomy”

o12.1:

The legal penalty is obligatorily imposed upon anyone who fornicates or commits sodomy (A: provided it is legally established (def: n11.2 (O:) ) ) when they:

(a)   have reached puberty;

(b)   are sane;

(c)   and commit the act voluntarily;

no matter whether the person is a Muslim, non-Muslim subject of the Islamic state, or someone who has left Islam.

o12.2:

If the offender is someone with the capacity to remain chaste, then he or she is stoned to death (def: o12.6), someone with the capacity to remain chaste meaning anyone who has had sexual intercourse (A: at least once) with their spouse in a valid marriage, and is free, of age, and sane. A person is not considered to have the capacity to remain chaste if he or she has only had intercourse in a marriage that is invalid, or is prepubescent at the time of material intercourse, or is someone insane at the time of marital intercourse who subsequently regains their sanity prior to committing adultery.

If the offender is not someone with the capacity to remain chaste, then the penalty consists of being scourged (def: o12.5) one hundred stripes and banished to a distance of at least 81 km./50 mi. for one year.

o24.9:

If testimony concerns fornication or sodomy, then it requires four male witnesses (O: who testify, in the case of fornication, that they have seen the offender insert the head of his penis into her vagina).

  1. Will the real Islam please stand up!

    I was visiting friends (England) the other week and on the Saturday morning I was treated to a stroll around one of the town centres not too far from his home.

    Hell hole or what!

    Small former industrial town in the north of England in the process of Islamification.

    On one street corner a group of prosletising Muslims offering English translations of the Koran – I regretted not picking one up; how close a translation are they, I wonder?

    • Correction, not “how close a translation are they” but “…how close a translation is it”

  2. 1 The picture is of Vienna at a late date than the 2 seiges by the Ottomans.

    2 Are you saying that this is real? Did a rape victim get this treatment?

    • 1. Yes, I know. It was the earliest painting of Vienna that I could find that was good enough to use as the blog’s header.

      For depictions of the siege of 1683, see here and here.

      2. Click the links and read the articles to see what we’re referring to.

  3. Quoran, Surah (33:59)
    O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
    Quote end.

    So if a Muslim woman does not comply with that rule “she brings herself in “danger” to become “abused”……… this “risk” is even much more greater in the case when a women is a “kuffar” because then she is per se according to Mohammed`s “practise” a possible sex slave.

    So the Quoran is “very clear” on who is to “be punished” because of the “feeling”- mixtures of 1) Surah 33 verse above, 2) especially verses in Sura 4 and 24 where MUSLIM WOMEN have to bring 4 adult witnesses “at hand” who say that there was a rape and if not the raped are imprisoned ….

    This is not valid for Non-Muslim Women and its seen as a sin, if a member of the Umma would confess against another member of the Umma who had made rape against an “Infidel girl”.

    And much of such brutal attitudes start here in Surah 2 verse 223, where a sort of rape is installed within the “borders of marriage”.

    Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.

    End of quote

    There are only three exemptions to this rule (all named in Surah 2) in which phases married Muslim girls and women can feel sure not to be “caught” by “sudden ideas” …….

    • “MUSLIM WOMEN have to bring 4 adult witnesses “at hand” who say that there was a rape”

      Muslim women have to bring four adult MALE witnesses who have personally witnessed the rape.

  4. I really don’t understand why anyone would visit a muslim majority country. I don’t care what salaries they offer, I’d sooner sweep the streets. As for tourists…..they must be utterly stupid.

    • Long ago, when I was hungry for employment, I was offered a job teaching English in Sa’udi Arabia. Knowing its laws and being a practicing Christian, I declined the offer. And I’m male.

  6. Vlad correctly noticed that there is no “misinterpretation” of the Sharia law at all. The issue is – can we blame a Court when following the existing law in a country? Of course not. That’s the way we wish our own Courts to function.
    Let’s hope this story will be a warning signal to everybody in the western World. Stay away!!
    PS: The Company involved (theone.com) is “multiarabic” even if its founder 20 years ago and CEO is of Swedish origin. Is anybody surprised that the story hardly has been mentioned in the traditional Swedish medias?
