Muslim Oppression of Hindus in West Bengal

As mentioned earlier today, the state of West Bengal in eastern India adjoins Bangladesh, and is dominated by Muslims. In the following video, a resident of West Bengal calls in to an Indian TV program to describe the oppression visited by Muslims on Hindus in his state.

Notice that the Hindus suffer under the same “unholy alliance” that we in the West know so well: the combined oppressive behavior of Muslims and Communists.

When the Serbs Stood Up To The Ottoman Empire

Gray Falcon just sent us a note reminding us that today is a solemn occasion: the 624th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo.

He says:

Today is June 28, the anniversary of the battle in which the Serbs, sacrificing the flower of their nobility, halted the Ottoman advance into Europe for 70 years.

See the blog Big ’n’ Mighty Nose for an account of the battle and an analysis of its historical significance.

Brigitte Gabriel and Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, June 20 2103

As I mentioned last week, Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff attended the ACT! For America annual gala banquet on June 20th to present the “Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff Profiles in Courage Award to Lt. Col. Allen West.

Before Elisabeth presented the award to Col. West, she was introduced by Brigitte Gabriel, the founder and president of ACT! For America. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this video:

The audio in the above clip is not as clear as it might be, so here is a prepared text similar to the one read by Brigitte Gabriel when introducing Elisabeth.:

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff grew up as the daughter of a Foreign Services officer whose career took his family to a variety of postings throughout the world. Some of her formative years were spent in the United States, allowing Elisabeth to develop a deep appreciation for the strengths of American culture. Being a Foreign Service officer’s dependent gave her opportunities to live in and learn other places, too, though some of those postings were less than ideal. Thus, besides living in the West, Elisabeth also saw life in countries where the fundamentals of democracy like free speech were not only absent, they were also not valued.

There were times while living in the Middle East that Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff faced the dangers of being a Westerner in a hostile environment. She was a child living in Tehran during the tumult which resulted in the violent birth of the Iranian Revolution and the establishment of an Islamic theocracy. Years later, this time in Kuwait, she found herself part of a group of endangered Western refugees fleeing the eruption of chaos when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. But the most impressive moment came when she was working in Libya, where she experienced first-hand the joyful spontaneous street celebrations on September 11, 2001.

Elisabeth returned to her home in Vienna in time to see the new Multiculturalism and the mass influx of non-Western immigrants into Vienna, just as was happening in the rest of Europe.

Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/26/2013

A young pedestrian named Mudasser Sheikh pulled out a two-foot sword and threatened a driver at a crosswalk in Pickering, Ontario. The driver managed to wrest the sword from the assailant, and was punched in the face for his efforts. The swordsman was apparently angry that the driver’s car had blocked his way at the crosswalk. He was arrested, and has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and obstructing a peace officer.

In other news, former congressman Anthony “The Wiener” Weiner has risen, so to speak, to the top of the polls among Democrats running in the New York City mayoral race.

Cruel Britannia

In the wake of the Home Office decision to ban Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller from entering the UK, great anger has erupted on both sides of the Atlantic at a government that could be so weak, fawning, and Shariah-compliant towards its Muslim minority.

An American reader has sent an idea about what can be done by anti-Shariah Americans who are disgusted by Dhimmi Britain. Not a boycott per se, but a simple decision to spend their vacation dollars in places that haven’t decided to surrender to Shariah, with a special emphasis on those that have decided not to allow Shariah inside their borders:

It is, as you know, the summer tourist season.

Free speech advocates can refuse to go to countries that ban free speech. After all, they’re simply no longer safe for those who don’t agree to comply with Shariah blasphemy laws.

We hear that Egypt’s economy, dependent on tourism, is being hurt by tourists fearing to go there. Now the UK needs to understand that enforcing Shariah will result in some very bad press and affect tourism. The money at stake is considerable.

Encourage Americans instead to visit instead Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, Alabama, and South Dakota where foreign laws that violate constitutional protections and due process cannot be enforced. “Put your money where your mouth is” isn’t just an old saying about committing to your principles — now it really is literally about putting your tourism dollars where they can do the most good, by rewarding those states in the US that have taken a stand for free speech and against foreign legal codes that violate constitutional protections. A number of states have passed Free Speech Acts protecting writers and publishers from foreign libel actions including

  • New York
  • California
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Utah
  • Tennessee
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • South Dakota
  • Oklahoma

Great places to visit.

Consider: Infographics discouraging tourism (done as Tourism Posters) — not so much on the Muslim terror as on the government’s caving in to it — so the TOLERANCE for the grooming, the ARRESTS OF TWITTER/BLOGGERS after the beheading, the bans on free speech, the imprisonment or lawsuits etc. against those critical of Islam, the bans on Christian displays — i.e. Visit The Merry Olde Shariah State of England, just don’t wear a cross (with smaller print about the cases where people have been fired etc. to show the factual case study).

AND/OR encourage people to send letters, civil and non-threatening other than saying they won’t visit England until Robert and Pamela are allowed to visit England.

This is the tourist season. Here is the tourist office for the Americas. Below is the manager’s info:

Danish Reds Become Danish Nationalists

The following article from Politiken discusses the seismic shift in Denmark from the traditional Socialist parties to the Danish People’s Party. Politiken — a major leftist paper, the Danish equivalent of the NYT — asked questions of a real Danish worker, and not a university professor, in attempt to understand what’s going on.

Many thanks to Kitman for the tip, to Vlad Tepes for arranging the translation, and to John Martinsen for the translation itself:

Worker: I understand colleagues who votes for Dansk Folkeparti (The Danish People’s Party) damn well

The red coalition lacks solutions to the challenges the workers face: globalization, outsourcing of jobs and immigration.

By Vanessa Christophersen and Per Michael Jespersen

Whenever I use my left-wing arguments towards co-workers at the construction sites, it strikes me that I don’t have any solutions to their problems. The same goes for Venstre [Danish conservative-liberal political party] in general. The main reason for the right-wing majority among Danish workers in the private sector is the fact that the left wing offers no solution to their problems. I understand my colleagues who votes for the Danish People’s Party damn well.

These are the words of the 35-year-old left-wing concrete worker Jacob Mathiassen, There are not many of his kind left. The last poll done by Politiken [Danish daily] shows that the majority of Danish workers support either the Danish People’s Party or the Liberal Party. It’s a huge problem, says Jakob Mathiassen, who also wrote a chapter in the newly released book: ‘Right-wing populism — the left wing’s Achilles heel’.

“When I started work in 2001, I was well aware of the growing support of the right wing among Danish workers. I was convinced that what the workers really needed, though, was a good dose of socialist agitation. So that’s what I did. At the construction site where I was working then, there was an old crane operator, a former B & W employee. He was proud, professional, skilled, and cursed like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately, most of it was just racial slurs. He voted for DF. And quite often he managed to turn the rest of the workers against me. Over and over as time went by. One day it suddenly struck me: ‘Maybe my colleagues have good reasons for voting DF? Could it be as simple as their problems were caused by the left wing?’”

Do you think so yourself?

“Yes. If you take a look on what’s happening right before your eyes – you have to be stupid not to vote for DF. The far left side of the Social Democrats has especially failed to keep up with the new challenges arising: Companies that outsource. Immigration. And the steady increasing poverty problem. The Left wing’s strategy is often seen as both unrealistic and unreliable among workers in general.”

Don’t you think DF could risk being accused of being selfish and xenophobic?

Fjordman: My Life as a Public Enemy

Fjordman

Fjordman’s latest essay has been published at FrontPage Mag. Some excerpts are below:

I am currently completing a book about the Anders Behring Breivik case and how I got dragged into it against my will. The working title is Witness to Madness, with the subtitle How I Became Public Enemy Number Two. I was considering dropping the reference to being a “public enemy,” as it might be seen as hyperbole. Yet after the reactions I’ve received since the beginning of June 2013, this title actually seems warranted.

On Friday June 14, I announced on my Twitter account, in Norwegian, that I’d just been awarded a grant of 75,000 kroner to support the completion of my upcoming book about the Breivik case. This grant came from Fritt Ord, which is Norway’s largest and most well-funded free speech organization by far.

I was quite happy to receive it, as it had not at all been certain that I would get it. The decision was bound to cause some controversy, given how controversial I am in Norway, but the mass media reactions once again exceeded anything I had truly expected. A full week after my tweet, the debate had still not died down. A Member of Parliament representing the ruling government coalition blasted the decision and me personally on the state broadcaster NRK. The crux of the debate is: Does freedom of speech apply even to truly loathsome creeps like Fjordman?

Shariah Rules the UK

In a not unexpected — but nevertheless shocking — move, Britain’s Home Office has denied entry into the UK to Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller. The two anti-sharia advocates had planned to join Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll this weekend in laying flowers at the site of Lee Rigby’s murder in Woolwich, in honor of Armed Forces Day.

Unlike Geert Wilders at the time he was denied entry to Britain, Mr. Spencer and Ms. Geller are not on trial for “inciting hatred”. They have never been convicted of any crimes. They have never incited violence in any way. Their only “offense” has been to speak out repeatedly against Islamization and the dangers of Shariah.

In contrast, Islamic hate preachers — who not only incite violence, but occasionally commit it themselves — are always welcome in Britain. Anjem Choudary is just the clown-faced poster boy for this phenomenon; dozens more who are nastier and more seditious than he is enjoy the hospitality of the British state.

This seeming disparity makes no sense until you understand that the British government is simply applying Shariah law on “slander”, which under Islam means “to mention of your brother that which he would dislike.” Coupled with “talebearing”, it forms the heart of the legal justification for suppressing all criticism of Islam:

“In fact, talebearing is not limited to that, but rather consists of revealing anything whose disclosure is resented… The reality of talebearing lies in divulging a secret, in revealing something confidential whose disclosure is resented. A person should not speak of anything he notices about people besides that which benefits a Muslim…” [Reliance of the Traveller, Chapter R, “Holding One’s Tongue”]

Exposing the doctrines and practices of Islam where infidels can see them is something that Muslims “dislike” and “resent”. It does not “benefit Muslims”. Hence, whether it is true or not, it slanders Islam, and is thus forbidden.

On the other hand, calling for infidels to be beheaded, raped, or enslaved does not in any way offend Muslims, and is therefore a perfectly acceptable form of expression.

It’s now official: Britain is a Shariah state.

Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/25/2013

German police have thwarted an Islamic terror plot in which the conspirators planned to pack remote-control model planes with explosives and use them as guided missiles against buildings. Police raided residences in several cities in Germany and Belgium, seizing technical materials and instruction manuals.

In other news, a new research report released in Greece says that the Greek economy will continue to contract the rest of this year and next year. Deflation is expected to continue in both years, and the report predicts that the unemployment rate will exceed 30% next year.

Open Season on the FPÖ

This translation came in during the height of my Lyme-induced delirium, and somehow got lost in the shuffle. Hence the delay.

It’s well-known that a sort of open season has been declared on Islam-critical politicians throughout Western Europe. The murder of Pym Fortuyn is simply the most extreme example of what happens when a Counterjihad politician is, in effect, “outlawed” by the political establishment. But other people have been beaten up, firebombed, stabbed, and otherwise had their lives upended. Victims have included members of Sverigedemokraterna in Sweden, Pro-Köln in Germany, and the PVV in the Netherlands.

Now it’s the turn of Freiheitlichen Partei Österreichs (the Austrian Freedom Party, FPÖ). I haven’t classified this incident as “cultural enrichment”, because I suspect that the perpetrators are more likely from the hard Left: Communists, Greens, Anarchists, Antifas, etc.

Many thanks to JLH for this translation from Die Presse:

Vienna Favoriten District: FPÖ Politicians Beaten

June 3, 2013

The Vice-Borough Mayor and a District Councilwoman were knocked down. FPÖ head Strache sees “politically motivated perpetrators” behind the acts.

In Vienna’s Favoriten district, several FPÖ [Austrian Freedom Party] officials have been the victims of attacks. On Saturday, a district councilwoman was struck as she was exiting the trolley. There was also an attack at the construction of an information stand. FPÖ chair Heinz-Christian Strache claimed in a press release on Monday that “politically motivated perpetrators” were responsible for the incidents.

According to a police report, the incident on the weekend took place near a station for trolley line 6. The 38-year-old councilwoman was struck down and kicked by an unidentified male, who was apparently walking with a number of young men. After the attack, the perpetrator fled on foot. The woman suffered injuries to the forearm and the face and was taken to the hospital. The background of the incident is being investigated at this time. No witnesses could be located as yet, according to police information.

A Tale of Two Flags

Update: The president of Donovan Creative Communications has responded to Don Laird’s emails. This is a fair reply.

Mr. Laird should perhaps reconsider his position vis-à-vis the flag:

Good afternoon.

Some of you on this email string know us, some do not. For all, I would like to make it clear that we have no association with the gentleman who calls himself Don Laird, have never heard of him before now, and everything claimed in this letter, or in the numerous subsequent faxes to our office, are patently untrue and unsubstantiated. He has absolutely no knowledge of our business operations, nor the opinions of this company and its staff. He came into our offices on a Saturday uninvited, and has now taken it upon himself to personally and professionally attack us and our reputation.

We have decided until now to avoid confronting him, but, for the personal safety of my staff given recent events, have filed a complaint with the Alberta RCMP and plan to do this now with the City of Edmonton police service.

Unfortunately, our landlord has since decided to remove the flag from our office rather than replacing it due to this OPEN LETTER. We think this is unfortunate. To make it clear: This was never our flag; we co-habit this building with another company and the building is owned by an independent operator.

I can say that our VP of Strategy, Tim Schultz, whom Mr Laird buttonholed outside of our office that Saturday, has in previous capacities welcomed troops home from Afghanistan, and has put in personal and professional time to demonstrate his commitment to Canada’s troops. His record here is above reproach. So too is the integrity of our business.

It goes without saying for us that we support the men and women who put their lives on the line every day for our personal freedom.

We hope that Mr. Laird decides to stop defaming us publicly. For the moment, I wanted to fill in everyone in that he has cc-ed.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Truly yours,
Michael Donovan

Our Alberta correspondent Don Laird has a personal story to tell about two businesses in Alberta and their very different ways they responded to criticism about the shabby condition of the Canadian flags flying from their premises. The first one, Hitrac Equipment Ltd., promptly bought a new flag and ran it up their flagpole. The second, Donovan Creative Communications Inc…. Well, they had a very different response, as you’ll see.

In my opinion Mr. Laird was a bit hard on this guy Schultz at Donovan. On the other hand, the fellow was being disingenuous when he said, “We don’t own the building,” because he was able to produce results of a sort within a week.

Here’s the video report on what happened:

The accompanying article is below.

A Tale of Two Flags
by Don Laird

(A true story)

The First Flag

Several weeks ago I was driving through an industrial section of Spruce Grove, Alberta called “Acheson”. It was early in the morning and the sun was up against a brilliant blue, cloudless sky.

On one of Acheson’s streets I passed the yard and office of Hitrac Equipment Ltd located at 21-53016 Hwy 60. The office and yard, crisp, clean, with equipment neatly lined up, contrasted with one of 3 flags that flew from poles located on the equipment yard’s corner. The contrast that caught my eye was the Canadian flag; it was in a pathetic and miserable state.

On a personal note, considering my previous military service, considering the numerous members of my family, members of the military, who have served our country and died. Considering my family has been in North America for over 450 years (yes, I can trace them back that far and further) and considering the nature of the contribution, in blood, sweat and tears, of those many generations who have helped birth, forge, serve and protect my two countries (my grandfather was an American from Montana), I am particularly protective of that piece of cloth that drapes the coffins of our soldiers, and marks the country I call my home, a country that is the envy of the world.

As I drove by Hitrac Equipment’s yard I noticed a telephone number on their company sign. I called the number.

A gruff voice answered.
