BP has reached a settlement with the plaintiffs in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill case. The group of plaintiffs had sued the company over the damage caused by the gigantic 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Details of the settlement have not yet been released, and the trial has been postponed while the judge in the case reviews the agreement.
In other news, prosecutors in the Anders Behring Breivik case say they may be willing to accept the diagnosis of insanity for the defendant. This would pave the way for him to be sentenced to a psychiatric institution instead of prison.
