Gates of Vienna News Feed 7/18/2011There’s a lot of news tonight about the economic crisis, not just in the Eurozone, but all over the world. I’ll cover some of those stories more fully in a separate post.

In other news, at least two arrests have been made in Australia for the flogging attack on a man in his bedroom. The victim, a recent convert to Islam, had allegedly enjoyed an alcoholic beverage with some friends. To punish him, four bearded zealots from his Sydney mosque broke into his bedroom, and three of them held him down while the fourth gave him forty lashes with a length of electrical cable.

Police are investigating the incident.

Caveat: Articles in the news feed are posted “as is”. Gates of Vienna cannot vouch for the authenticity or accuracy of the contents of any individual item posted here. We check each entry to make sure it is relatively interesting, not patently offensive, and at least superficially plausible. The link to the original is included with each item’s title.
