Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund who was arrested several days ago at the airport in New York for sodomizing a hotel maid, has resigned his post at the IMF. The Greeks are very dismayed at Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s difficulties, since they regard him as someone who understands the Greek situation and is willing to help the country find a way out of its debt crisis.
Speaking of the Greek debt crisis: German Chancellor Angela Merkel chastised the southern Europeans, particularly the Greeks, for their lax work habits and their tendency to retire early. She says those characteristics have contributed to the current crisis, which the hard-working German taxpayer will be forced to pay for.

Very subtle introduction.
DSK, sodomy: next sentence, “The Greeks are very dismayed at Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s difficulties, since they regard him as someone who understands the Greek situation”.
Please tell me you planned it that way and it wasn’t just serendipity.

Nice happy ending in Indonesia, for a change!
What always brings socialist economies to their knees is the fact that humans aren’t stupid. We may be lazy be we’re not stupid.
When the government takes away our incentives (ie: keeping the fruits of our labors) and instead seeks to give our fruits to others… it takes away any motivation to labor.
This is different than charity. This is force wealth redistribution.
Now, if the government lets me keep my fruits, and instead sets up an organization by which I can donate funds for those who are truly needy (not the lazy, but the truly needy), then I’m happy to give what I don’t need to those who do need.
But the gummint can’t control what I give voluntarily, so by golly they’re going to make me give, and why then should I take the risks necessary for achievement if my achievements will just be punished?
I may as well become one of “the needy” at that point…
… this bizzaro Robin Hood mentality of the government, taking from the rich (skimming what they want off the top) and then giving what is left to the poor, has got to change.
All we’re doing is making everyone poor.
