Gunned Down at the Church Door

The Talibanization of Pakistan may have passed the point of no return. The terror and carnage have moved out of the Tribal Areas and the Northwestern Frontier to infect many other parts of the country, including Lahore, which was once considered the most enlightened and liberal city in Pakistan.

Pakistan / Sindh / Sukkur

The report below describes a recent incident that occurred in the district of Sukkur, which is in the southern province of Sindh, hard on the border with India. Notice the irony that the Christians who were killed had gathered at the church to discuss security in the wake of recent attacks.

According to Asia News:

Sukkur: Five Christians Killed Outside Church

A group of masked men opened fire on the faithful gathered to talk about security. Since 2008, members of extremists group threaten non-Muslims: “they pollute the land they live on and must leave.”

Sukkur (AsiaNews / Agencies) — A dozen masked men opened fire against five Christians, killing them instantly as they left their church (see photo). The massacre occurred on 15 July, two months after threatening letters were sent to the church by a group of Islamic extremists outlawed by the government. The victims are Pastor John Aaron, Rohail Bhatti, John Salman, Abid Gill and Shamin Mall, all the faithful of the Church of the Gospel. Five other faithful were wounded in the attack.

Shahid John, son of Pastor Aaron says: “The five were gathered in the church along with others to discuss the security problem. After leaving, a group of armed men opened fire against us”. He escaped with a wound to the arm: “The area is steeped in fear. The police arrived 45 minutes after the attack, and we had to wait another 45 minutes for an ambulance”.

Last May, the Sip-e-Sahaba (Islamic extremist group, also known as Sipah-e-Sahaba) had threatened the Christians to leave the area before it was too late. Kiran Rohail, wife of Rohail Bhatti (one of the wounded) said: “They told us that we are not welcome, that we pollute the land.” The group is composed of members of a local madrassa (Islamic school), which has been threatening non-Muslims since 2008.

Naila John, widow of pastor killed in the attack, recalls: “In that year a group of Muslim students began threatening us, they wanted our land. Out of fear, only 55 Christian families remained in the area. “ Local police “took our complaints but did not initiate any investigation. It is clear that threats from Muslims convinced them to stay out of the question”.

  1. Notice the irony that the Christians who were killed had gathered at the church to discuss security in the wake of recent attacks.

Since 2008, members of extremists group threaten non-Muslims: “they pollute the land they live on and must leave.” [emphasis added]

Notice the additional irony that Islam pollutes the entire remaining civilized world with its terrorist violence, abject gender apartheid, female genital mutilation, xenophobic hatred of everything non-Muslim and overall Neanderthal approach to life in general.

As a natural born American citizen I make a routine effort to let well-assimilated Hindus that I meet know just how repellent it is that Pakistan even exists.

Many are astonished and more than a few are gratified when I suggest dividing this clearly failed nation-state along the Indus River and giving each half to India and Afghanistan.

Nearly all are wryly amused when I note how the word “Pakistan” means “land of the pure” and, in reality, it is a perfect example of “pure” Islam. With its constant bloodshed, routine killings of non-Muslims, terrorist training camps, indoctrinating madrassas and overall glorification of jihad Pakistan is exactly what we can expect from all Muslim majority Islamic countries.

That Pakistan even exists at all should be a cause for concern to the international community. It is Terror Central™ and needs to be dismantled as an object lesson for all other Muslim nations with regard to what can be expected by any country that makes jihad its central focus.

The fact that Pakistan possesses nuclear weapons which are in ever increasing danger of falling into terrorist hands only serves to magnify the importance of this vital task.

  2. There won’t be anything done about it. The Pakistani government has been “playing both ends against the middle”, only pretending to be a big ally to the U.S. in the fight against terrorism.
