Environmental experts say that the flow of the Jordan River has been reduced by about 98% since 1930, due to the diversion of water for agriculture and industry. Israeli use accounts for about half the water loss, and the rest is fairly evenly divided between Jordan and Syria. Very little water has been diverted by “Palestine”.
In other news, reports of voter fraud are increasing as the election in the UK approaches. The fraud is concentrated in culturally enriched areas, and is based in the postal voting system. As many as 18 or 20 postal voters have been registered as living in the same address, some of them in tiny flats. Bengalis — most of them coincidentally Labour voters — seem particularly tolerant of cramped living conditions.
