Ehsan Jami and the PVV

Ehsan Jami is a prominent Dutch apostate from Islam whose activities have caused controversy, to say the least. He has been physically attacked and threatened with death by his former co-religionists.

The latest news is that Mr. Jami is going to be actively involved with Geert Wilders’ political party. Our Flemish correspondent VH has the story, translated from Trouw:

Ehsan Jami in PVV’s “talent pool”

Ehsan Jami will become politically active in Geert Wilders’ party, the PVV. The former PvdA council member is in the “talent pool,” Wilders told the Dutch press agency ANP Thursday.

“He is someone with guts and with interesting views. I am convinced that he can make a good contribution to spreading the ideas of the PVV,” Wilders said. It is not certain whether Ehsan Jami will become a PVV candidate for the municipal council in The Hague or for the PVV fraction in Parliament. “I think his heart goes out to the Parliament,” said Wilders.

Jami grew up in Iran, and was Councilor for the PvdA (Socialists) in Leidschendam-Voorburg [near the Hague]. In 2007 he gained national attention with a committee for ex-Muslims. With Wilders he wrote an opinion article in September 2007, which compared the Prophet Mohammed to Adolf Hitler. The PvdA then expelled Jami from the party. Last year Jami made the movie “Interview with Muhammad”. “This is unique in the history of Islam,” Afshin Ellian wrote. “Nothing like this has ever happened before.”

  1. Ehsan Jami is a great choice for Wilders’ party. I attended an event with some ICLA collegues and his speech was the only one that made any sense. I am disappointed that I did not get the change to meet him on that occasion. As far as I can see he is a man who the counter jihad can do business with and someone who we should would closely with in the future if at all possible. With regard to the situation that the West faces, he gets it!

  2. I wonder whether an ex-Muslim will be able to reach mush-brain liberals who lap up only Muslim generated pap about their “religion of peace”? For one thing, former Muslims can’t be dismissed with the racist card the way any white critic of the religion is.

I am more convinced than ever that there are not a significant number of Muslim moderates. They are just people who are not actively terrorizing, (though they may be contributing zakat to help finance it as well as letting jihadis move freely through their mosques and communities without tipping off the authorities). The more educated contribute to the Muslim cause by gumming up human rights and legal machinery with frivolous complaints, draining western finances. Another fraction keeps pushing sharia including strictures on non-Muslims. And even those who do none of the above are just biding their time until Muslims dominate to “come out”.

The only trustworthy ones are those who speak out publicly at risk to themselves, and most are apostates, whether self-declared or shunned by the larger Muslim community.

These few brave souls are worth their weight in gold to the West for their truth telling about Islam from the insider’s viewpoint.
