The Dutch are starting to have second thoughts about the various species of Islamic radicals that they have invited to live and proselytize in their midst. It’s a pity they didn’t have any first thoughts on the subject fifteen or twenty years ago, when avoiding the current crisis would have been relatively easy.

It seems they have belatedly woken up to find the house on fire, and are now scrambling to find a bucket of water.

Our Flemish correspondent VH has compiled a report on Khalid Yasin and the other radical Islamists who are suddenly being noticed by the Dutch authorities. First, his translation from yesterday’s Elsevier:

Dutch Parliament worried about arrival of hate preacher

After the PVV, now the CDA and the PvdA also have great difficulty with two speeches Muslim preacher Khalid Yasin will give next week in the Netherlands. The PvdA wants to know whether Yasin will preach intolerance.

The government parties today stated that they are worried about the content of Yasin’s message. The PvdA [Labour] therefore wants an explanation from Integration Minister Eberhard van der Laan (PvdA). He should clarify to the Parliament whether Yasin preaches intolerance between Muslims [sic].

Arrested

The CDA states in a reaction that a sharp eye should be kept on Yasin, considering his previous expressions. If he summons hatred between Muslims and people without faith or from another religion, he must be arrested, according to the CDA.

The PVV already made it clear that the radical Muslim is a terrorist and an evil man. and The Netherlands should have refused entry to Yasin.

Islamic University Rotterdam

Next week Yasin will speak in a room of the Islamic University in Rotterdam. In a comment the university states only that they have rented out the room.

Radical

Among other things, Yasin has stated previously that a Muslim should not have unbelievers as friends. He has also promoted the message that homosexuals should get the death penalty.

Concerning the attacks of September 11, 2001, he said the towers of the World Trade Center were blown up from the inside, and did not collapse as result of the attack.

VH adds some information about Yasin and other radical Islamic proselytizers of the Netherlands:

The record-breaking kuffar-converter (22 shahada in one go!) and US-born convert, Khalid Yasin, will give three lectures, two of which will take place in The Netherlands. One will be in the vicinity of Tariq Ramadan’s Erasmus University, the Islamic University Rotterdam on January 23, and is entitled: “The purpose of life”. The event is being organized by Discover Islam and the Islamic University Rotterdam. Thus the university is a bit more involved than they would have you believe.

The other speech is planned for January 25 (a day after a speech in Maaseik, Belgium) at the “Second National Converts Day 2009”, in the Dar Al-Hijra Mosque (Hijra meaning “to settle in another place for the sake of Allah”), at the Putselaan in the southern part of Rotterdam. Khalid Yasin will be joined there by the Indonesian Dutch radical Remy Soekirman. The event is again being organized by the Discover Islam.

Last year the “First National Converts Day 2008” was held, also in the Somali/Moroccan Dar al-Hijra Mosque in Rotterdam. The city of the giant Al-Maktoum Mosque: “the Mosques are shooting up like mushrooms! Larger that any other Mosque I ever visited,” a convert writes in his report that day. (Al Maktoum: Maybe named after Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the UAE, accused of encouraging the abduction and enslavement of thousands of boys for use as jockeys in camel races?)

The speakers were, apart from the radical Remy Soekirman, Sheikh Rafiq Fris, another radical and lecturer at the Islamic University Rotterdam, who signed the petition of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Netherlands related to the then-upcoming film Fitna.

Okay Pala of Hizb ut-Tahrir Netherlands stated: We do not agree with your freedom of opinion, because we reject you democracy. […] What you need is a heavy bomb attack”.

Quite a few members of the PvdA signed the petition, and a Rotterdam district councilor even had to resign. She had written in an email to a Dutch citizen: “You are the immigrants here, convert to Islam!” According to the Secret Service, Saudi Arabia is one of the sponsors of Hizb ut-Tahrir Netherlands.

At those “convert” meetings, women are separated from men. Though the organization in advance stated there was no obligation for woman to sit somewhere else, separated from men, once inside there was no choice. According to a participant, questions asked by a woman had to be asked via a little note, and the answer was read out and answered not to the questioner, but to the men in general. The woman in question was embarrassed by this, but could not respond because she was hidden in a separate area.

Shadneds weblog featured a transcript of the documentary “Home Grown” by the Australian reporter Peter Overton of “Sixty Minutes” with an interesting interview a few years ago, featuring Khalid Yasin, Driesell Bezuhly, Mohammad Omran, and Geert Wilders.

A few quotes from Sheikh Khalid Yasin:

“Our message to young people, young brothers and sisters, is that trust is sacred, and how can you put a sacred trust in the hands of a non-Muslim, who doesn’t understand what that sanctity is about?”

“There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend, so a non-Muslim could be your associate but he can’t be a friend. He’s not your friend because he doesn’t understand your religious principles and he cannot because he doesn’t understand your faith.”

“If you prefer the name of somebody on your clothes other than the name of the Muslims, if you prefer the clothing of the kuffar rather than the clothing of the Muslims, most of the names that are on most of those clothing items are of faggots, homosexuals and lesbians. God is very straightforward about this, not we Muslims, not subjective, the Sharia is very clear about it, the punishment for homosexuality, bestiality or anything like that is death. We don’t make any excuses about that, it’s not our law, it’s the Koran.”

University of Amsterdam (UvA) bans lecture at radical Muslim club

A meeting on the war in Gaza that would have included the extremist Islamic movement Hizb ut-Tahrir is scrapped at the very last minute by the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

“There is no room for apartheid in the UvA.”

The meeting would take place tomorrow in a room of the UVA and was organized by the Islamic student association Al Furqan.

Among other people, Okay Pala, a member of the Muslim movement Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in many countries [but not in the Netherlands], was to give a lecture on the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The PVV reacted furiously to this form of “segregation”.

Terror organization

“What should be a bastion of science now slides towards an institution where medieval practices take place. A terror organization is allowed to advocate for the Caliphate there, and even enforces apartheid,” says Martin Bosma of the PVV, who demanded an explanation of Minister Ronald Plasterk (Education, PvdA).

But in the meanwhile Amsterdam University announced that the meeting has been cancelled. According to a spokesman, the student who applied for the room did not say exactly what was going to happen there during the meeting.

According to the UvA, separation of men and women is not compatible with the public nature of the educational institution.
