I mentioned earlier today the “Memorial to Oriana Fallaci”, a European Counterjihad conference in Florence that finished up today.
I just received word by telephone from Italy that both Filip Dewinter and Geert Wilders were given Oriana Fallaci awards by Una Via per Oriana at today’s ceremonies. I can’t think of two European politicians more deserving of them.
When I get more details about the conference and the awards, I’ll post them here.
[Nothing follows]
You-know-who has had a photo of Oriana at his blog for years, and now Oriana’s friends and associates honor Filip Dewinter, who is supposedly a Fascist, in her name. Does that mean that LGF will now denounce Oriana Fallaci as a Fascist, too? What about Wilders?
Stay tuned!
I think You-know-who will find it too confusing and give up, and turn instead to denouncing Democrats for stupidity – without really explaining what exactly would make them lesser beings.
Bigotry de jour, served serially at the usual place.
I just found an interest, if unsourced, chinese proverb that a few people “over there” opposing this whole anti-jihad conference thing might want to consider:
“A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.”
If I’m not mistaken, someone else who shall not be named already gives out a Fallaci award, to match his “Fiskie.”
Expect a copywright infringement suit any day now …
I cannot think of two more deserving people to receive such award.
Charles will definitely not pay any notice to this. His logic only applies when he wants it to, or when it’s convenient. Expect him to completely ignore this, despite that, by his own logic, Fallaci and Wilders are officially FASCISTS now.
Yes, the brilliance of Charles Johnson: those who resist Islam (which is very fascistic in its nature) are… fascist! Of course, why didn’t I think of that myself… not.
Fjordman,
Does that mean that LGF will now denounce Oriana Fallaci as a Fascist, too? What about Wilders?
What about Robert Spencer? (who received the same award)
