Whiteout

Well, not really — it’s just another storm. It added about 4.5 inches (12cm) of pelletized and powdered climate change to what was already on the ground. But this is the fifth major winter storm since the middle of February, with only a couple of brief thaws interspersed. And it’s going to get really cold tonight (far colder than in Scandinavia, I’ll bet), so it kind of feels like we’ve been teleported above the Arctic Circle.

First there was rain last night, when it was still fairly warm. It continued into this morning as the weather got colder and colder. Then the sleet started, and after that a few hours of snow. And it’s still getting colder.

Fortunately, there was almost no freezing rain in the mix, so the risk of losing our electric power is minimal. And we’re hardly snowbound; it just feels like it. This is supposed to be very early spring in these latitudes, with daffodils blooming and the forsythia budding. Instead we’ve had three weeks of unrelenting winter. It’s getting old.

The photo at the top of this post was taken just before dusk from the belvedere in the northeast gardens of Schloss Bodissey, next to the orangery and the topiary and just around the corner from the pergola. On the far left you can see one of Dymphna’s two Leyland cypresses (Cupressus × leylandii). Three others were pretty much destroyed by our nemesis, the white-tailed deer. The shrub (ha!) in the middle of the picture is a viburnum, and the evergreen is some sort of decorative holly.

A PEGIDA demonstration in Antwerp was banned by the mayor but went ahead anyway. All the demonstrators who took part will be fined. Vlaams Belang protested the ban on the demo, and pointed out that a pro-Palestinian demo had been given the go-ahead, despite the terror alert.

In other news, the Iraqi army, in part led by an Iranian general, are working to surround the forces of the Islamic State in Tikrit.

The Gold Bar as Big as the Ritz

I started building the graphic for this post in the summer of 2013, but abandoned it because working on it was too hard on my eyes. I came across the work-in-progress yesterday when I was doing housecleaning on this computer, and decided to finish it, since my eyes are much better now.

I had also saved a page with all my calculations involving the national debt, which at that time was estimated at $16 trillion. It’s roughly $18 trillion now — a 12.5% increase in just two years. In the same period of time, the price of gold has dropped by $100 an ounce. It was about $1,300/oz when I did the earlier calculations, and it’s hovering right around $1,200/oz this evening. Which seems counterintuitive to me, but then so does a lot of the other economic news these days.

I’ve redone all the calculations, finished the graphic, and am rushing everything into print before the debt clock and the gold markets make it obsolete again.

Let’s suppose the United States had to pay off its accumulated debt in gold. How much gold would that be, based on today’s market prices?

A standard gold bar that weighs a kilogram measures 80mm × 40mm × 18mm, or 3.15″ × 1.58″ × 0.71″.

The spot price of gold is about $1,200 per ounce, which is $19,200 per pound, or $38,400,000 per ton.
A ton is approximately 907 kilos, so there would be 907 one-kilogram bars in a stack of gold weighing a ton.

The national debt is over $18,000,000,000,000 and climbing rapidly, but I’ll peg it at $18 trillion, just to make the calculations easier.

When I looked into how much gold would be needed to add up to $18 trillion, the scale of the resulting graphic would have been too exaggerated to make visual sense — the astronaut standing next to the gold bar would have been too tiny to be recognizable in a normal-sized image. The calculations below are based on paying off one quarter of the national debt, or $4,500,000,000,000 ($4.5 trillion).

To determine the number of tons of gold needed for the payoff, we divide $4,500,000,000,000 by $38,400,000 per ton, arriving at an approximate figure of 117,188 tons. At 907 kilos per ton, 106,310,712 one-kilo gold bars are required.

The bars in the resulting pile would be stacked 474 long, 474 wide, and 474 high. Using the dimensions of each individual bar as given above, the rectangular solid formed by the whole pile would be 37.9m × 19m × 8.5m, or 124 feet long, 62 feet wide, and 28 feet high.

That’s as big as a McMansion, but remember: it represents only 25% of the national debt. Four of those piles taken together would be as big as the Ritz.

This article will explore the deliberate strategy of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Obama administration to cripple the middle class and to steer the American economy, as well as identify, to the extent possible, their role in many Obama scandals.

Introduction

What do Common Core, “comprehensive” immigration reform, and IRS targeting of conservatives groups have in common? They are just a few examples of Muslim Brotherhood-connected policy initiatives that are affecting the lives of Americans every day. Under Obama, many new domestic policies, as well as many scandals, can be traced back to, in varying degrees, the Muslim Brotherhood.

To understand why America no longer feels like America — why it seems that the government has its favorites and while others are targeted and even persecuted — it is important to understand two strong influences on the Muslim Brotherhood. The first is historical: the Nazi Party of Hitler’s Germany. The second is more contemporary: the strategy developed by Al Qaeda’s strategic mastermind, Abu Musab al-Suri.

“The Vampire Economy” and Economic Repression

In 1939, German economist Guenter Reimann published a study of the German economy under Hitler. The Vampire Economy described a corrupt, backwards economy that was not based on any economic logic, much less profit seeking, but instead on the politics of the Fuehrer (i.e., Leader), Adolf Hitler.

Like Communism, Nazism was a form of socialism. (The term Nazi is a contraction of the German word Nationalsozialismus, or National Socialism.) Unlike Soviet Communism, which, at least theoretically, depended on shared ownership of capital to direct the economy, in Nazi Germany the shops, farms, and factories remained, nominally, in private hands.* Yet the outcome was basically the same in both Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany: total control over the economy by the Leader and the Party.

In Germany, the pseudo-legal rationale used by the Nazis was regulation, which was subject to change on a whim. If you stepped outside the regulations, you were punished with fines, political persecution, imprisonment, and possibly shipped off to a concentration camp. Sound familiar?

Yet pervasive corruption in the Third Reich ensured the rules applied differently to those in favor, and to those who opposed the Nazis. Specifically, in such an economy, there are party members in good standing, and there were dissidents. Party members can break rules with impunity, while dissidents face public character assassinations and blacklisting.

This calls to mind Obamacare’s implementation. Certain companies, approximately 1,200 in fact, received waivers from the law. Other businesses were forced to provide health coverage for abortions against the will and conscience of the business owners (though the Supreme Court later overruled this regulation). A similar comparison can be made for the fines and prosecutions unequally levied on banks for violating a myriad of complex and overlapping regulations.

Abu Musab Al-Suri’s Plan to Cripple the American Economy

Although most Americans know the name Osama bin Laden, very few know the name Abu Musab al-Suri. While bin Laden provided the charisma and wealth to found Al Qaeda, al-Suri, one of his top lieutenants, provided valuable strategic advice to the fledgling jihadi network. A member of the Muslim Brotherhood from the time he was a student, al-Suri rose to become a member of the Brotherhood’s military command in 1982.

According to a spokesman for the Libyan military, kinetic activists for the Islamic State attacked oil fields in Al Bahi and Al Mabrouk, doing significant damage. As of last night, a pipeline connecting two fields had been hit, and oil installations were ablaze.

In other news, the Islamic State has reportedly threatened Twitter, and specifically its founder Jack Dorsey, for blocking ISIS’ accounts.

“Even if Israel Has to Stand Alone, Israel Will Stand”

“This is a bad deal — we’re better off without it.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress this morning, at the invitation of Speaker of the House John Boehner. His primary topic was the current nuclear weapons deal with Iran being negotiated by the “P5+1”, which is reportedly close to being finalized.

Below is a CSPAN video of the entire speech:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was not happy with Mr. Netanyahu’s address. During the applause after his climactic line — “Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand” — she turned her back on the prime minister (the photo below is a screen cap of that telling moment).

Afterwards she expressed her displeasure to the press:

“I was near tears throughout the prime minister’s speech — saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States,” she fumed in a statement afterward, adding that she didn’t appreciate “the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.”

President Barack Obama did not attend the speech, and said he did not watch it. A video of his response to Mr. Netanyahu is available here.

School for Jihad in Quebec

Adil Charkaoui is a culture-enriching “Canadian” who has managed to get himself in a spot of bother with the Quebec authorities. He says they are being unfair to him with their accusations that his Arabic schools promote violent extremism.

Charkaoui blasts decision to suspend leases

MONTREAL – Adil Charkaoui said Muslims in Quebec are targets of a “witch hunt” as he blasted a decision by two Montreal junior colleges to suspend leases granted to his Arabic schools.

The Moroccan-born Montreal educator who was once accused by Ottawa of being a terrorist and spent several years living under tight restrictions, said Friday his schools were unfairly tied to a group that left the country for Turkey and may have joined jihadist groups in the Middle East.

It recently emerged one of the men had attended a handful of classes at his school.

Charkaoui said it’s just the latest example of mosques, schools and community centres being targeted.

“In Quebec, right now there is a new form of McCarthyism — a witch hunt led by certain media and it’s the Muslim community that’s taking the rap,” he said, referring to the act of making unfair allegations, without supported proof.

Two schools suspended Charkaoui’s contracts Thursday in the wake of reports that six young Quebecers left the country in mid-January.

The Iraqi army is working with Shi’ite militias to mount a large operation to retake territory in Salahuddin Province from the Islamic State. Their first goal is to wrest Tikrit from ISIS’ hands. Meanwhile, 19 of the 220 Christians abducted by the Islamic State in Syria were released after ransom was paid for them.

In other news, Norway does not have enough room in its prisons to house all its criminals who have been sentenced to jail time, so it is renting space in Dutch prisons to handle the overflow.

“Allah Will Not Allow You to Stop Us”

Carson is not just a Democrat, and not just known to conclave with Muslim Brotherhood affiliates, but he is a Muslim himself. Center Releases Dossier Documenting a House Intelligence Committee Member’s Extensive Ties to the Muslim Brotherhood

Rep. André Carson is a Potential Security Risk and/or Vehicle for Islamist Influence Operations

(Washington, D.C.): House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi recently appointed Rep. André Carson (D-IN) to a coveted position on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. This panel is charged with oversight of the United States’ most sensitive national intelligence capabilities and operations. These include any directed at Islamic supremacists seeking to impose worldwide — through violent and, where necessary, through stealthy forms of jihad — the totalitarian program they call shariah.

Preeminent among the practitioners of this jihadist agenda is the Muslim Brotherhood. In fact, according to evidence introduced by the U.S. government into the Holy Land Foundation trial in 2008, the Brotherhood’s self-declared mission in America is: “a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands [i.e., those of non-Muslims] and those of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” (From the 1991 Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America, Government Exhibit 003-0085, 3:04-CR-240-G.)

It is, therefore, problematic and potentially detrimental to the national security that Rep. Carson has extensive and longstanding ties to organizations and individuals associated with the Muslim Brotherhood. As established in a dossier [pdf] and video released today by the Center for Security Policy, the Indiana congressman has an extensive record of involvement with, support of and support from a virtual Who’s Who of Brotherhood front organizations in America and leading figures in the jihad movement in this country. The dossier makes it clear that, as a group, they have “a documented history of serving as unregistered foreign agents, engaging in material support for terrorism and possessing direct ties to the Brotherhood’s Palestinian franchise, Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.”

Among those with whom Rep. Carson has been involved as a guest speaker, panelist, fundraiser, recipient of funds, etc., are: the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and a number of its chapters across the country; the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA); the Muslim American Society (MAS); and the Brotherhood’s new proto-political party, the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO).

The Carson Dossier [pdf] warns:

The fact that Rep. Carson’s association with these organizations has persisted even after he has had every opportunity — as well as a responsibility — to know the threat they pose to U.S. national security displays, at the very best, a grave lack of judgment that is incompatible with service on the HPSCI.

In addition, the prospect that the nation’s most highly-classified information could fall into Muslim Brotherhood hands — whether purposefully or by accident — by way of a HPSCI member who associates on a regular, friendly and ongoing basis with its operatives is a grave one. It merits a rigorous counter-intelligence assessment of the potential risks associated with Rep. Carson’s vulnerabilities to recruitment, blackmail or other suborning.

Center President Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. unveiled the Carson Dossier in the course of a presentation about the Muslim Brotherhood, its civilization jihad and its success in advancing its stated mission of “destroying Western civilization from within” before the National Religious Broadcasters today. No, he wasn’t and they aren’t

Note: This post was a “sticky” feature for 24 hours. Scroll down for a video of the Norwegian Foreign Minister being caught lying about his contacts with Hamas, an investigative report about a university-funded MSA library in Montreal containing “extremist” literature, and last night’s news feed.

No, he wasn’t and they aren’t

“Fort Hood soldier ‘shot dead neighbors after wife fled to their house then dragged her back home and killed her then himself’” read one of the similar headlines on Feb. 24, 2015. The stories were mostly standard boilerplate too, asserting — here, again, in the Daily Mail’s version — that “Police in Killeen, Texas remain unsure why Atase Giffa killed his neighbors Sunday before killing his wife Dawn, 28.”

I think I know why, and it calls for lifting the other deception that obscures the why for the culturally-ignorant, the innocent, and the politically corrupt. This deception always originates in the Government-Media combine: here, for instance, evinced in the Associated Press packaged content:

“Fort Hood officials issued a statement Tuesday saying Atase Giffa was from Clarkston, Georgia and enlisted in 2009 as an automated logistics specialist. His wife, Dawn Giffa, was from Kingston, Ontario.”

But no, Giffa was not from Clarkston, Georgia. The name, the face of Atase Giffa bear the imprint of East Africa, most likely Ethiopia. The eyes are the sad, shocked, resentment-filled eyes of a refugee who has not only traveled thousands of miles to get to the United States, but several centuries as well.

And found out that traversing geographical distance is easy, but time-traveling to 21st century Western society is pretty much impossible — even if you are not a Muslim, in which case your coordinates on the time axis have to whoosh 1400 years forward in a matter of a year or two. Quite like another recent Fort Hood soldier, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who could not traverse this space-time continuum, with lethal consequences for 13 Americans, and nearly so for another 32.

Moreover, just as Giffa is not from Clarkston, Georgia, Hasan is not from Arlington, Virginia, even though he was born there. The descendants of Martha Washington and Mary Custis and her husband, Robert E. Lee, are from Arlington. Hasan is on the space axis from 20th century Near Middle East and on the time axis from 7th century Saudi Arabia. It’s only the unalloyed Loonism and corruption of America’s ruling elite that, by importing his Palestinian parents, planted Hasan in Fort Hood on that fateful November 2009 day.

It gets worse. Arlington, where Hasan is not from, and Clarkston, where Giffa is not from, are not in Virginia and Georgia either but in that howling-mad vortex of quantum decoherence: an alternative reality multiverse conjured by mad Loons with the power to destroy.

Per the latest census — and this kind of data is always on the lowball side — 23% of Arlington residents are foreign-born and in 29% of households a language other than English is spoken at home. Arlington — via government, media, even corporate blurbs (e.g. Amazon) — proudly flaunts its public school children who “hail from 126 countries” and speak 98 languages.

The Egyptian government has designated Hamas a terrorist organization. In the past it had done so only for the “military wing” of Hamas, but now it interdicts the entire organization, including the “political wing”. Hamas has called for protests in the Gaza Strip as a response.

In other news, the teachers’ union in Malmö in southern Sweden has ordered that a school be closed, due to persistent violence and threats that make it unsafe for both teachers and students.

Our Bright New Political Caste

Our Bright New Political Caste

In a video from January 2011, the then Foreign Minister of Norway (2005-2012), Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre, was interviewed by the Norwegian Channel TV2. Mr. Støre is now chairman of Arbeiderpartiet (Labour Party), the largest political party in Norway. Above is a picture of Mr. Støre (right), and his old chum, Mr. Khaled Mashal of the terror organization Hamas.

Journalistic Scoop

On the tape, Mr. Støre is caught lying in flagrante and demands therefore that the exposed sequence be retaken. That’s why he looks so angry in the picture and is lifting his finger towards the cameraman. Too bad for him, of course, that the TV company all the same didn’t delete the tape. It’s difficult for others, however, to assess how often top politicians such as Mr. Støre are caught red-handed in lying, but the interview is certainly a scoop from a journalistic point of view. Mr. Støre is the kind of leader we in the West now put our trust in. It’s therefore quite amusing to watch the video, but maybe lying is more common that we know among members of our elites?

Liberal Paradox

Mr. Støre is likely to become PM in 2017 because the present Government, chaired by Mrs. Erna Solberg, is increasingly unpopular due to its liberal immigration policy. The paradox is that the voters therefore will go for Mr. Støre, who is just as liberal as Mrs. Solberg when it comes to opening the borders to everybody. Sometimes the world is indeed difficult to comprehend.

The transcript of the video is as follows, partly in English and partly translated from Norwegian:

1:19   in an interview with TV2, says that he has on several occasions been talking to you on the telephone.
1:24   Mr. Støre: Yes, it is correct that in 2007, when the Palestinians were engaged in talks between themselves
1:29   for the establishment of a coalition Government … eh … then I had a few telephone conversations
1:35   with him, on the request of the Palestinian President, Mr. Abbas, in the negotiations then taking place
1:40   between the Palestinians, from a meeting in Mecca and to when they agreed on a Government.
1:47   Reporter: But haven’t you had political contacts with Hamas?
1:51   Mr. Støre: Yes, you could say that a telephone conversation during a period of negotiations was messages to
1:56   and from the Palestinians …eh … was a political contact, but we haven’t had political contacts
2:01   as such since they formed their coalition Government.
 

The matter is certainly embarrassing for Norway, because at the time of the incident, no other western Country had approved of Hamas as a legitimate organization. Mr. Støre’s predecessor as party chairman and prime minister of Norway, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, is at present Secretary General of NATO, handpicked by President Obama and Chancellor Merkel for the job of taming Mr. Putin. Or maybe he’s chosen because he’s so well connected with the Middle Eastern mob? Well, anyway, since President Obama himself has voted for Mr. Stoltenberg, we’ll all sleep better at night.

A library set up the Muslim Students Association at Concordia University in Montreal includes works by authors that might be considered “radical” or “extremist”, including Bilal Philips and Yusuf al-Qaradawi. The contents of the library might not seem so controversial — after all, this is what Muslims all over the West read — except for the fact that the library is indirectly funded by the university.
