  14. I had been searching for an update on “Takuan Seiyo” since March 2015 and had almost despaired until I discovered Max Denken. It was as if a long-lost favorite relative had been returned to me. I read and re-read the essays and even read all the comments.

And, now, once again, it would appear that this favorite relative, this friend and philosopher, is gone.

I read what I found on the underlying dispute precipitating this departure. I don’t mean to be presumptuous or rude but I am afraid I’ll come off as both. I know that intelligent dissidents such as yourself are very quick to anger and resolute in their decisions, right or wrong, and see them through the end. The very qualities that make you ideal dissidents and “stone-kickers” make it somewhat difficult to adjust to the world at large and make it even more difficult for the world.

I am pleading with you to return. Please consider your readers and those who educate themselves with your unwitting assistance. We didn’t to the schools you attended nor can we avail ourselves of your travels and other experiences. But we can read about them through your work. It is an education, it is a journey, an intense and exhilarating experience.

Your work is like an undiscovered mine. The discrete few that follow you treasure it as we would gold and jewels.

Please consider how we value your work. And how much we valued the dynamic between yourself and Gates of Vienna. Together, you are a formidable foe. This dispute hurts all the right people and makes all the bastards snigger. Please, help us shut them up. Bring back the light, let us watch you drive the darkness back.

Friends will always disagree. And then make up.

I beseech you, please make up and return to GoV.
