Globalization is Poverty: “The Endgame is Painfully Obvious”

Central bankers have never done more damage to the world economy than in the past 10 years. One may argue this is because they never had the power to do that. If their predecessors had had that power, who knows? Still, the global economy has never been more interconnected than it is today, due mostly to the advance of globalism, neoliberalism and perhaps even more, technology.

Ironically, all three of these factors are unremittingly praised as forces for good.

But living standards for many millions of people in the west have come down and/or are laden with uncertainty, while millions of Chinese now have higher living standards. People in the west have been told to see this as a positive development; after all, it allows them to buy products cheaper than if they had been made in domestic industries.

But along with their manufacturing jobs, their entire way of life has mostly disappeared as well. Or, rather, it is being hidden behind a veil of debt. Still, we can no longer credibly deny that some three-quarters of Americans have a hard time paying their bills, and that is very different from the 1950s and 60s. In western Europe, this is somewhat less pronounced, or perhaps it’s just lagging, but with globalism and neoliberalism still the ruling economic religions, there’s no going back.

What happened? Well, we don’t make stuff anymore. That’s what. We have to buy our stuff from others. Increasingly, we lack the skills to make stuff too. We have become dependent on nations half a planet away just to survive. Nations that are only interested in selling their stuff to us if we can pay for it. And who see their domestic wage demands go up, and will —have to— charge ever higher prices for their products.

And we have no choice but to pay. But we can only pay with what we can borrow. As nations, as companies, and as individuals. We need to borrow because as nations, as companies, and as individuals we don’t make stuff anymore. It’s a vicious circle that globalization has blessed us with. And from which, we are told, we can escape only if we achieve growth. Which we can’t, because we don’t make anything.

So we rely on central bankers to manage the crisis. Because we’re told they know how to manage it. They don’t. But they do pretend to know. Still, if you read between the lines, they do admit to their ignorance. Janet Yellen a few weeks ago fessed up to the fact that she has no idea why inflation is weak. Mario Draghi has said more or less the same. Why don’t they know? Because the models don’t fit. And the models are all they have.

How the Elite Dominate the World — Part 2: 99.9% of the Global Population Lives in a Country With a Central Bank

Even though the nations of the world are very deeply divided on almost everything else, somehow virtually all of them have been convinced that central banking is the way to go.

Today, less than 0.1% of the population of the world lives in a country that does not have a central bank. Do you think that there is any possible way that this is a coincidence? And it is also not a coincidence that we are now facing the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world. In Part I of this series, I discussed the fact that total global debt has reached 217 trillion dollars. Once you understand that central banks are designed to create endless debt, and once you understand that 99.9% of the global population lives in a country that has a central bank, then it finally makes sense why we have accumulated so much debt. The elite of the world use debt as a tool of enslavement, and central banking has allowed them to literally enslave the entire planet.

Some of you may not be familiar with how a “central bank” differs from a normal bank. The following definition of a “central bank” comes from Wikipedia…

[…]

Here in the United States, most people just assume that the federal government creates money. But that is not true at all.

Many are absolutely shocked when they discover that U.S. currency is actually borrowed into existence. The federal government gives U.S. Treasury bonds (debt) to the Federal Reserve in exchange for money that the Federal Reserve creates out of thin air. The Federal Reserve then auctions off those bonds to the highest bidder.

Since the federal government must pay interest on those bonds, the amount of debt that is created in these transactions is actually greater than the amount of money that is created. But we are told that if we can just circulate the money throughout our economy fast enough and tax it at a high enough rate, then we can eventually pay off the debt. Of course that never actually happens, and so the federal government always has to go back and borrow even more money. This is called a debt spiral, and at this point we will never be able to escape it until we do away with this horrible system.

But why does our government (or any government for that matter) have to borrow money that is created by a central bank in the first place?

Why can’t governments just create money themselves?

Oops. That is the big secret that nobody is supposed to talk about.

[Comment: Read it all. Getting countries to go into debt to privately owned central banks is the greatest scam and looting of wealth the world has ever seen. The trillionaires that own the central banks are the real richest people in the world.]

Italy: PD Comes Out Against Visco, ‘New Phase’ Needed

Banking crisis could have been averted says Gentiloni’s party

(ANSA) — Rome, October 17 — The Democratic Party (PD) on Tuesday came out against Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco over his handling of Italy’s recent banking crisis, saying a “new phase was needed”.

A PD motion on the Bank of Italy debated in the Lower House on Tuesday said that the crisis “could have been mitigated with more incisive and rapid prevention and management activity”.

It said that the appointment of the governor of the central bank was highly delicate because the effectiveness of the Bank of Italy’s oversight activities has been thrown into doubt in recent years by repeated bank crises.

Asked if the motion was against BoI Governor Visco, PD spokesman Matteo Richetti said: “The PD won’t go into the person but asks for a new phase for the Bank of Italy. The PD won’t go into the merit of a decision that is up to the government and the premier but it can’t skirt a judgement and the motion traces the need to mark a new phase. The ‘who you do it with’ is up to the government”.

Consumer group Adusbef, which has been campaigning to get Visco sacked, said “all of the Bank of Italy managers” who handled the crisis should also go.

Anti-euro, anti-migrant Northern League leader Matteo Salvini said “(PD leader and ex-premier Matteo) Renzi should shut up, the PD and the lack of checks are the cause of the Italian banks’ disaster”.

“Let them all go home, Visco and the government…it’s clear that the PD, too, is to blame for the catastrophe and the damage to 300,000 savers”.

Americans Are Stunned to Find That Obama Gave Much More Than 5 Terrorists in Exchange for Deserter Bergdahl [Video]

Barack Obama’s legacy includes his exchange of deserter Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban terrorists…BUT that’s not all he gave for the scumbag traitor. You won’t believe it!

Remember how Obama brought out Bergdahl’s parents in a Rose Garden ceremony to announce Bergdahl’s release by the Taliban? Something just wasn’t right…

Obama let Berdahl’s dad speak then this… Bergdahl’s dad praised Allah when he said “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim” —which means “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.”

Little did most Americans know that Bergdahl deserted his fellow soldiers who risked their lives to try and find him. His shameful actions even cost lives. He’s a total disgrace to our military but Obama saluted him like he was some sort of hero.

WHAT DID WE GIVE THE TALIBAN IN EXCHANGE FOR THIS TRAITOR? WELL, YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT!

Bill OReilly had Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer on right after Bergdahl was released. He reveals that we gave $5 billion on top of 5 terrorists!!! Shaffer was part of the negotiations to release Bergdahl:

Bomb-Arson Team Investigating Explosion in City Heights

An explosion in front of a City Heights apartment complex early Tuesday ignited several small bushes and damaged a parked car and a fence, a fire official said. No one was injured.

Investigators determined the low-explosive device “wasn’t anything sophisticated” and there wasn’t much left of it by time they arrived, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Capt. John Wood, the bomb-squad commander.

“It could have been a pyrotechnic,” Wood said. “They had something or other that they set off, probably something lit but I can’t tell for sure.”

Someone called 911 a little before 7 a.m. to report hearing a loud explosion on 36th Street near Wightman Street, south of University Avenue, said Billy Hernandez, a San Diego police spokesman.

The caller saw something burning in the street between a car and the apartment complex. By time fire crews arrived, the fire was already out.

Wood said the blast from the explosion ignited three small bushes, which were extinguished by residents before firefighters arrived. He said a car had some heat damage and a section of fence was “torched a little.”

Gulf Coast Oil Spill May be Largest Since 2010 BP Disaster

An oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico last week may be the largest in the U.S. since the 2010 blowout at BP Plc’s Macondo well that sank the Deepwater Horizon rig and killed 11 people.

LLOG Exploration Co. reported 7,950 to 9,350 barrels of oil were released Oct. 11 to Oct. 12 from subsea infrastructure about 40 miles (64 kilometers) southeast of Venice, Louisiana, according to the company and the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. That would make it the largest spill in more than seven years, BSEE data show, even though it’s a fraction of the millions of barrels ejected in the 2010 incident…

McCain: Abandoning Obligations of Int’l Leadership for ‘Half-Baked’ Nationalism ‘As Unpatriotic’ As ‘Any Other Tired Dogma’

During a ceremony where he received the Liberty Medal on Monday, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) stated that fearing the world and abandoning the ideas that the US has advanced and the obligations of being an international leader in the name of “some half-baked, spurious nationalism,” is just as “unpatriotic” as holding to any other belief sent to the ash heap of history.

McCain said, “To fear the world we’ve organized and led for 3/4s of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain the last, best hope of earth, for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism, cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is an unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”

NFL Doubles Down on Politics With Endorsement of Prison Reform Bill

The National Football League seeks to double down on politics despite the bad hand of anthem kneelers resulting in fans becoming boo-birds.

The league recently formally endorsed the bipartisan Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act…

The bill changes life sentences for three-time drug felons to 25-year terms, amends the Controlled Substances Act to impose a mandatory minimum of five years rather than ten, and seeks alternatives to prison for nonviolent offenders, such as home confinement. It tasks the attorney general with creating “a strategic plan for the expansion of recidivism reduction programming and productive activities.”

The bill applies to the small percentage of inmates in federal prisons and not to those sentenced in state courts.

Rampant Pedophilia With Child Actors the Next Shoe to Drop in Hollywood Sex Scandal

Older men acting as agents sexually abuse child actors

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Harvey Weinstein scandal is only the prelude to Hollywood’s best kept secret scandal, namely, widespread pedophilia in which older men, frequently acting as agents, engage in a systematic and continuing pattern of sexually abuse of child stars as well as underage aspiring actors and actresses.

The career of any Hollywood child star or rising star who goes public to expose the rampant pedophilia risks having their career destroyed by a Hollywood elite determined to circle the wagons to protect the pedophiles from press exposure and/or criminal prosecution.

While the mainstream media typically avoids reporting on Hollywood pedophilia, the case of Brian Peck, a Hollywood X-Men and Living Dead actor, who used his movie industry roles to abuse a Nickelodeon star proves the point.

As reported by the Daily Mail on June 8, 2015, Peck served 16 months in prison for a 2004 conviction in which he admitted to two counts of sexual abuse with the child Nickelodeon star.

In the circle of pedophilia accusations that circulated around director Bryan Singer’s X-men movies, Marc Collins-Rector pleaded guilty to having sex with under young boy actors who were invited to parties and given drugs and alcohol as the opening act of a play that ended in older men sexually abusing them.

Sharyl Attkisson Pulls Back the Curtain

Sharyl Attkisson’s The Smear gives insight to how news is made today. It goes a long way in convincing readers that they should believe only a small portion of what is released by the government and reported by the press. This leads to a very cynical view of the news and confirms Otto von Bismarck’s claim that “Nothing is proven until it is officially denied.” Attkinsson gives an account of how massive the smear industry is…

Donald Trump’s victory has increased the need of the left to limit the amount of information available to the public. The effort to eliminate “fake news” is a project led by people like Barack Obama, David Brock, Mark Zuckerberg, Angela Merkel and countless other members if the establishment. Attkisson points out the problem with restricting news: “it relies on some of the very organizations that have gotten caught in compromising situations.” Some of the people responsible for determining what is “fake news” might have a problem. Anita Kahane, a former Stasi agent and social activist, may have a problem with being objective. As Attkisson says, “those who most loudly denounce Fake News are typically those most aggressively disseminating it.”

Small Plane Pulls ‘Boycott Jags & the NFL’ Banner Over Everbank Field Before Jaguars-Rams Game

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not been very good at football. Consequently, their fans have spoken out against them in a variety of ways. Though on Sunday, a group of fans took things to an entirely new level.

While the Jags prepared to fight yet another losing battle on the field against the Rams. A small plane flew over the field, pulling a banner behind it.

The banner read: “Be American. Boycott the Jags & the NFL.”

The banner urging fans to boycott the team came two weeks after fifteen Jaguars were seen taking a knee during the U.S. national anthem, ahead of a September 24 game played overseas at Britain’s Wembley Stadium.

Smartphones Are Killing Americans, But Nobody’s Counting

Amid a historic spike in U.S. traffic fatalities, federal data on the danger of distracted driving are getting worse…

Over the past two years, after decades of declining deaths on the road, U.S. traffic fatalities surged by 14.4 percent. In 2016 alone, more than 100 people died every day in or near vehicles in America, the first time the country has passed that grim toll in a decade. Regulators, meanwhile, still have no good idea why crash-related deaths are spiking: People are driving longer distances but not tremendously so; total miles were up just 2.2 percent last year. Collectively, we seemed to be speeding and drinking a little more, but not much more than usual. Together, experts say these upticks don’t explain the surge in road deaths.

There are however three big clues, and they don’t rest along the highway. One, as you may have guessed, is the substantial increase in smartphone use by U.S. drivers as they drive. From 2014 to 2016, the share of Americans who owned an iPhone, Android phone, or something comparable rose from 75 percent to 81 percent.

The second is the changing way in which Americans use their phones while they drive.[…]

By 2015, almost 70 percent of Americans were using their phones to share photos and follow news events via social media. In just two additional years, that figure has jumped to 80 percent.

Finally, the increase in fatalities has been largely among bicyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians—all of whom are easier to miss from the driver’s seat than, say, a 4,000-pound SUV—especially if you’re glancing up from your phone rather than concentrating on the road. Last year, 5,987 pedestrians were killed by cars in the U.S., almost 1,100 more than in 2014—that’s a 22 percent increase in just two years…

These Are Not Your Parents’ Fairy Tales

A years-long study by a television watchdog group reveals a disturbing trend in prime-time programming by the broadcast TV networks that intentionally draws young viewers in — then exposes them to graphic violence, sex, and profanity.

The new report from the Parents Television Council — entitled “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore” — examines content over the last several years (2011-present) from several programs with ties to child-friendly fantasy franchises: Once Upon a Time (ABC), Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (ABC), The Muppets (ABC), Grimm (NBC), Emerald City (NBC), and Sleepy Hollow (Fox).

PTC president Tim Winter says his group’s research found that Hollywood has taken these fairy tale-themed properties and turned them “dark.”

Car Bomb Kills “One-Woman WikiLeaks” Who Led the Panama Papers Revelations

Meet Daphne Caruana Galizia, the journalist who led the Panama Papers investigation into corruption in Malta.

A blogger whose posts often attracted more readers than the combined circulation of the country’s newspapers, Caruana Galizia was recently described by Politico as a “one-woman WikiLeaks”.

To John Dalli, a former European commissioner whom she helped bring down in a tobacco lobbying scandal, Galizia is “a terrorist.”

To opposition MPs, she’s a political force of nature, one who fortunately has her guns aimed at the other side of the aisle.

“She single-handedly brought the government to the verge of collapse,” says one MP. “The lady has balls,” says another.

Galizia’s mantra was simple: blog relentlessly about the “cronyism that is accepted as something normal here. I can’t bear to see people like that rewarded.”

Her blogs were a thorn in the side of both the establishment and underworld figures that hold sway in Europe’s smallest member state.

Well, sadly, all that is over now, as Galizia was killed today when her car, a Peugeot 108, was destroyed by a powerful explosive device which blew the car into several pieces and threw the debris into a nearby field.

As The Guardian reports, her most recent revelations pointed the finger at Malta’s prime minister, Joseph Muscat, and two of his closest aides, connecting offshore companies linked to the three men with the sale of Maltese passports and payments from the government of Azerbaijan.

No group or individual has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.

Malta’s president, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, called for calm…

Interestingly, Muscat announced in parliament that FBI officers were on their way to Malta to assist with the investigation, following his request for outside help from the US government.

Italy: American Tourist Reports Sexual Assault in Florence

Allegedly met foreigner at dance club, police investigating

(ANSA) — Florence, October 17 — A 24-year-old American tourist filed a police report Tuesday alleging she was raped by a man she met at a dance club in Florence’s historic centre.

Police said according to the description given the alleged perpetrator is most likely a foreigner.

The woman is currently in hospital undergoing “code red” procedures for victims of sexual violence.

She told police she met the man at the club, where she had gone for drinks with her friends, and at around 7 a.m. the man accompanied her to the bed and breakfast where she was staying.

She said when she returned to her room she began crying and told her friends that the man had raped her.

Carabinieri police in Florence are investigating the report, including acquiring video surveillance footage from cameras in the area.

There have been several high-profile rapes in recent months including a Polish tourist and a transsexual by a North African gang in Rimini and a homeless Roman woman raped and tied to a pole by an Eastern European in a Rome park.

A Finnish tourist was also raped by a Bangladeshi man in central Rome.

Two Carabinieri are accused of raping two American exchange students in Florence.

Also in the Tuscan capital, in January 2016, a 35-year-old American artist, Ashley Olsen, was killed by a 27-year-old Senegalese, Cheik Diaw.

Italy: EasyJet Presents Offer for Some Alitalia Assets

Deadline for offers looms

(ANSA) — Rome, October 16 — EasyJet on Monday presented an offer to buy “some assets” of a restructured Alitalia, the British low-cost carrier said in a statement. The offer came a few hours before the deadline for offers at midnight local time.

The offer is “consistent with the current strategy” of the British carrier for Italy, the statement said.

“Considering the nature of the process, the content of the proposal is subject to confidentiality,” it said.

At the moment, it added, “there is no certainty on the fact that we will go ahead with a transaction and EasyJet will provide a further update in due course if and when it is considered appropriate”.

Earlier Monday Lufthansa presented an offer for Alitalia, indicating its “interest in the creation of a ‘New Alitalia’“, a statement from the German airline said a few hours before the deadline for offers for the struggling Italian airline. “Lufthansa has decided not to make an offer for the whole company but has shown interest only for some parts” of the airline’s global traffic and its domestic and European point-to-point activities, the statement said. Last week CEO Carsten Sporhr Lufthansa CEO Carsten Sporhr said that the German airline would be interesting in taking over Alitalia only if it were possible to make a fresh start with it.

“If there were a chance of creating a new Alitalia, as Europe’s number one (carrier) Lufthansa would certainly be interest in the talks,” Sporhr was quoted as saying by German media. “Italy is an important market for us. (But) Alitalia as it is today is not an issue”. Former Italian flag carrier Alitalia is currently in emergency administration and its commissioners are looking for a new buyer willing to acquire the whole airline. Lufthansa is buying parts of failed German carrier Air Berlin.

Police said the pair had been questioned but had not explained why they wanted to take the kids. Judicial sources said police were “investigating to find out why the incident happened.” Carugate Mayor Luca Maggioni said “if what we are hearing from reports turns out to be true then we are faced with a very serious incident”

Italy: Vatican Hospital Ex-Head Gets 1 Yr in Bertone Flat Case

Giuseppe Profit also banned from public office, Spina acquitted

(ANSA) — Rome, October 16 — The former head of Vatican children’s hospital Bambini Gesù got a suspended sentence of one year at the weekend for syphoning off funds to pay for the restructuring of former Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone’s luxury penthouse. Prosecutors had asked for a three-year term for Giuseppe Profiti, who was also fined 5,000 euros and slapped a temporary ban on holding public posts. Former treasurer Massimo Spina was acquitted.

During the Vatican trial, a Vatican prosecutor requested a three-year prison term for Profit, former head of the Vatican’s Bambino Gesu’ children’s hospital foundation, for embezzling funds to restore Bertone’s Rome apartment.

The prosecutor, Roberto Zanotti, requested the acquittal for lack of evidence of former Bambino Gesu’ foundation treasurer Spina.

The prosecutor said a picture of “desolation” had emerged, “marked by opacity, silences, and very bad management of the public good”.

Bambino Gesu’ President Mariella Enoc told the court Bertone was “not aware nor agreed to” the revamping of his flat.

Bertone did not have to testify at the trial of Profiti and Spina.

Profiti and Spina were on trial for allegedly using 422,000 euros to pay for improvements to the central Roman flat.

“The Vatican is determined to go all the way” in the case, Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said during the hearings.

The pair were charged with using the cash “for completely extra-institutional purposes” in restructuring Bertone’s allegedly luxury living quarters.

Unveiling the misappropriation probe against Profiti and Spina last year, the Vatican said it was in connection with expensive renovations to the penthouse apartment inhabited by Bertone.

Vatican Spokesman Greg Burke said the probe began after allegations that the work was paid for by the foundation linked to the Bambino Gesu’ pediatric hospital in Rome, confirming an earlier report by L’Espresso news magazine.

The hospital operates in the Italian national health system but is owned and managed by the Holy See.

Cardinal Bertone was not under investigation, Burke stressed.

L’Espresso said in its report that the Vatican had launched a probe into the funding scandal after journalist Emiliano Fittipaldi documented alleged lavish spending by clergymen in his controversial 2015 expose’ book, Avarice.

Fittipaldi was acquitted in a trial in the Vatican along with another journalist in the so-called Vatileaks 2 case last year involving the alleged leaking of confidential Vatican documents.

A Vatican former PR expert, Francesca Chaouqui, got a suspended sentence while a Vatican official said to be the chief leaker, Mons. Lucio Vallejo Balda, got 18 months.

“Pope Francis’ judges have already found evidence documenting how the renovations to the apartment were paid for by the Bambin(o) Gesu’ pediatric hospital foundation,” Fittipaldi wrote in the article.

L’Espresso claimed the renovations cost a total of just over 422,000 euros and were billed not to the contractor — the now-bankrupt Castelli Re — but to a London-based holding company controlled by Gianantonio Bandera, the owner of Castelli Re and Bertone’s personal friend.

“The money destined for sick children was in actuality used for the renovations and then sent on to London,” Fittipaldi wrote.

“In addition to the seven invoices paid to the builder out of the Foundation’s accounts at the Institute for Religious Works (IOR) and the Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See (APSA), Pope Francis’ magistrates also have signed letters nailing Benedict XVI’s former secretary of state to his responsibilities,” L’Espresso continued.

The magazine said it was in possession of correspondence between Profiti and Bertone suggesting the manager offered to pay for the renovations through the foundation in exchange for hosting “institutional meetings” in the penthouse apartment, and that the cardinal accepted the offer the following day.

“Bertone’s name is not cited in the magistrates’ document but the Holy See will find it hard to overlook his direct involvement in the scandal,” L’Espresso said.

The cardinal has denied any wrongdoing.

“(The cardinal) reiterates he never indicated or authorized the Bambin Gesu’ Foundation to make any payment in relation to the apartment he occupies,” his lawyer Michele Gentiloni Silverj said in a statement.

The note echoed denials made at the time of the revelations in autumn 2015.

“I used my savings,” Bertone wrote in Genoa-based Catholic weekly Il Cittadino last November.

“I have the paperwork to prove I paid roughly 300,000 euros to the Vatican governorate from my own account.

“I later discovered that the Bambin Gesu’ Foundation had made a contribution for the same purpose,” he continued.

“I rule out having ever given indication or authorised the foundation to make any payment,” the cardinal said.

Cardinal Bertone also denied living in luxury.

“The apartment measures 296 square metres and I don’t live there on my own. I live with a community of nuns who help me,” the prelate told Corriere della Sera newspaper at the time.

Italy: We Must Change Lifestyles Due to Climate Change — Pope

Francis links issue to hunger during World Food Day event at FAO

(ANSA) — Rome, October 16 — Pope Francis said humankind has to change its ways due to the impact of global warming and linked climate change to the problem of world hunger.

“We see the effects of climate change every day,” the Argentine pontiff said as he addressed a ceremony for World Food Day (#WFD2017) at the Rome headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). “We need to change our lifestyles and consumption patterns…

“It is clear that wars and climatic change are a cause of hunger, so let’s not present it as if hunger is an incurable disease…. “The fruits of the earth must be available to all,” he said.

The Argentine pontiff also said it was unfortunate that “some” countries are moving away from the Paris Agreement on climate change. The FAO has said that around 815 million people — 11% of the global population — do not have enough to eat after the first rise in global hunger in over a decade.

The UN agency said the increase is largely due to the proliferation of violent conflicts and climate-related shocks which are also major drivers of distress migration. Francis said that the “global pact for safe, regular and orderly migration” that the United Nations is working on calls for “systematic, coordinated intergovernmental action in agreement with the existing international laws”. The Argentine pontiff added that the effort should also be “saturated in love and intelligence” as he addressed a ceremony for World Food Day (#WFD2017) at the Rome headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

He also called for a total commitment to gradual and systematic disarmament.

Kuwait: MP Calls to Tax Expat Motorists Kd 1,200 Annually to Clear Roads

A lawmaker yesterday came up with a solution to resolve traffic congestion, by proposing that expatriates who have a driving license should be asked to pay KD 1,200 annually. MP Khaled Al-Otaibi, an opposition MP, said expatriates who work as private drivers for families should be spared from the fee. The lawmaker, who is serving his first term in the National Assembly, said the measure will help ease traffic jams on roads, which have become a major source of accidents that result in casualties.

Otaibi said the large number of vehicles in the country has aggravated the traffic problem, causing menacing jams at any given time, because the road capacity is very limited to cope with this number. This results in massive delays for motorists, he said. Otaibi said his proposal will reduce the number of vehicles on the roads and will contribute to resolving the traffic crisis.

The lawmaker’s proposal is not the first targeting expatriate motorists, as several such proposals were submitted in the previous term, some of which called to suspend issuing driving licenses to expatriates or issuing them under extremely strict conditions. A Kuwaiti lawyer earlier this year filed a lawsuit demanding to stop issuing new driving licenses to expatriates and suspending existing ones for some time to help resolve the traffic crisis. The lawsuit was supported by a number of lawmakers.

The traffic department already imposes discriminatory rules for expatriates to obtain a driving license. Expatriates who qualify to apply for a driving license must have been residing in the country for two years, must be drawing a monthly salary of at least KD 600 and should have a university degree. There are exemptions to all these conditions for highly-skilled professionals like doctors, judges, engineers, etc…

Jane Fonda: ‘I Don’t Regret Going to Vietnam’ — ‘I’m Proud That I Went’

Last week on BBC’s “Hardtalk,” actress Jane Fonda was asked by show host Stephen Sackur if inside her she had a “sense of regret” for her 1972 visit to North Vietnam at the height of the Vietnam War.

Fonda denied having any regret about the visit itself and argued she had justifications for the trip.

“I don’t regret going to Vietnam,” she said. “The United States was bombing the dikes in North Vietnam — earthen dikes in the Red River Delta. If the dikes had given way, according to Henry Kissinger, somewhere around 2 million people could have died of famine and drowning. And we were bombing, and it wasn’t being talked about. And I thought, ‘I’m a celebrity. Maybe if I go, and I bring back evidence.’ And it did stop two months after I got back, so I’m proud that I went. It changed my life all for the good.”

The part she said she had regretted was appearing with the anti-aircraft and looking that she was against American soldiers and “siding with the enemy,” which she said wasn’t the case.

Priest Kidnapped in Nigeria ‘OK’, Phoned Mother

Says will be released soon

(ANSA) — Rome, October 16 — Father Maurizio Pallù, a 62-year-old Italian priest kidnapped at Benin City in southern Nigeria last week, phoned his mother last night to tell he was well and would be released “in a few days”, Vatican Insider reported Monday. The alleged release has not been officially confirmed. Laura Pallù, 92, made the phone call public during a prayer vigil for her son’s release in the parish of Santa Lucia La Sala in northern Florence. Father Pallù, a priest from the Rome diocese, was kidnapped Thursday in Nigeria, sources said Friday, adding that the foreign ministry’s crisis unit had already been alerted and the Rome prosecutor’s office anti-terror unit has opened a probe.

The foreign ministry said no effort was being spared in the case, in a “dutiful” framework of confidentiality.

Rome prosecutors are investigating a suspected terror crime, judicial sources said. While Islamist terrorists Boko Haram were initially suspected, they have since be all but ruled out.

Sources said the priest, Florence-born Pallu’, who will be 63 on Wednesday, was stopped with four other people on his way to Benin City.

They were stopped by an armed group that stole all their belongings and abducted the priest who has been on a mission to Nigeria for three years.

EU-Funded Guideline Tells Journos ‘Do Not Talk to Extremists’ About Migration Issues

The European Union funded project “Respect Words” has released guidelines for journalists telling them not to talk to “extremists” about illegal mass migration, not to mention the ethnicity of migrant criminals if possible, and to actively counter “hate propaganda”.

The 39-page style guide was designed by the “Respect Words” project who say on their website that their motto is “Ethical Journalism against Hate Speech.” It contains several sections with recommendations on how journalists should cover certain topics from migration and migrants to Islam and Islamisation making sure to reinforce “politically correct” terminology.

While the guide claims in the glossary of terms section that “hate speech” has no “universally accepted definition”, the guide tells journalists and writers not to reproduce “hate speech” and when they feel they have to write about such speech for the sake of news they should “mediate it by contextualising and challenging such speech”.

Italy: EU-Funded Cash Scheme Reaches 1 Mn Refugees in Turkey-WFP

Partnership with Ankara, Red Crescent

(ANSA) — Rome, October 17 — The Rome-based United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said Tuesday that a groundbreaking European Union-funded programme is providing monthly cash assistance that is helping around one million refugees in Turkey, most of them from war-torn Syria.

The Emergency Social Safety Net (ESSN) programme provides refugee families with debit cards to cover their basic needs such as food, rent, medicine and clothes. The cards can be used to withdraw cash from an automated teller machine (ATM), or to purchase items in shops like any other debit card.

Monitoring over the first year of ESSN shows that families spend their cash assistance primarily on food, utilities and rent. The ESSN programme is a partnership between the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), the WFP, the Turkish Red Crescent, and the Turkish Government. “Life was hard before we got this card,” said Macide, a Syrian refugee who lives in Hatay with her husband and children.

“But now we’re getting by. Now, we can pay the rent, the bills and buy food every month.” It is currently the biggest cash assistance operation for refugees anywhere in the world.

“Today is a milestone for the life-changing results achieved by our biggest ever aid programme; and for the EU delivering on its commitments to Turkey,” said Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides. “We have made a difference for a staggering 1 million people already. With the commitment and work of our partners, the impact of the programme grows by the day. “Turkey continues to host the largest refugee population in the world. It is our humanitarian and moral duty to help refugees that have fled war and persecution”.

Refugee Resettlement Putting America at Risk

Maryland’s diminutive and unassuming private citizen, Ann Corcoran, has been writing about refugee resettlement on her now-famous blog, Refugee Resettlement Watch, since 2007. Without her work it is highly doubtful we would know nearly as much about this dangerous and wildly out-of-control program. To know her, listen to her, watch her on TV, she reminds you of a kindly grandmother, (which she is), quietly but assertively lecturing us to eat our porridge. You could never imagine the ire she has aroused among the radical Left and their allies in the refugee resettlement industry.

But she has.

Southern Poverty Law Center have branded her an Islamophobe

She wrote a short book three years ago, Refugee Resettlement and the Hijra to America, which is still in the top 30 in the immigration category at Amazon. A short video produced to promote the book has been viewed over 2.9 million times. Her blog has thousands of entries on everything from the refugee resettlement budget and the despotic, arcane, and highly secretive process by which refugees are resettled into this nation, to the horrific crimes and terrorism committed by these nice refugees that we foolish deplorables are so worried about. Her work inspired me to write my own short (and not nearly as popular) book, The Red-Green Axis, and the (not nearly as popular) promotional video to go with it.

But to listen to the Left, you would never know she is a kindly grandmother. Perish the thought! The extreme left-wing smear merchants at the Southern Poverty Law Center have branded her an Islamophobe. Her blog is even mentioned in a pamphlet published by the private resettlement industry itself, titled Resettlement at Risk: Meeting Emerging Challenges to Refugee Resettlement in Local Communities. Yes folks, she is one of those “emerging challenges.”

The Islam “Over There” Is Not Magically Different Than the “Islam” Our Government Deliberately Imports

Pakistan remains a top source of immigration to Canada, as it has done so since at least 2011. There is no Islamic state that does not persecute its religious and ethnic minorities. Violent supremacism is hard wired into Islam so why does our government insist on importing it?

In 2015 permanent residence status was granted to 214,089 people from the top 30 source nations, 28% of those came from Muslim majority states. Why? To fuel the mass immigration Ponzi scheme that benefits our corporate and political class? To remake Canada to resemble what exactly, the “multicultural” wish-dream of our virtue signaling class? Even a casual reading of world news reveals that Islam does not play well with others — anywhere. Islam will not change to suit Canada but then those who insist on importing it won’t be the ones paying the price of admission.

And by the way you’ll be called a racist by your government just for reading this post. They didn’t dream up M103 for nothin.

One-Dollar Newsweek Stays Strong With Trump Hate

In an incredibly venomous cover story, a national magazine mockingly labels President Donald Trump as a “mortal messiah” and duped Evangelicals as his unwitting accomplices…

“I understand now why Newsweek practically went bankrupt,” says Jeffress, referring to the once-popular magazine that was sold to a business tycoon in 2010 for literally one dollar. It temporarily ceased its print editions in 2012.

It’s not breaking news that Newsweek regularly mocks religious faith, Christianity in particular, earning it a mention in the 2010 book “Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity” by conservative atheist S.E. Cupp.

More recently, Newsweek took aim at the Bible itself in a 2014 Christmas season article that mocked Christians for believing that the Bible is true and reliable. The controversial claims by writer Kurt Eichenwald were taken apart, piece by piece, by a New Testament professor from Dallas Theological Seminary, among others.

UK: Headmaster at £20,000-a-Year Private School is Forced to Apologise After Plan for Gender-Neutral Toilets and Uniforms Made Pupils Feel ‘Uncomfortable’

A headmaster at one of Britain’s most prestigious private schools has apologised to parents after introducing ‘gender-neutral’ toilets for the pupils.

Adam Pettitt had overseen the conversion of lavatory facilities at the elite Highgate School in North London over the summer holidays saying it would help students who are ‘gender fluid or don’t wish to identify themselves with a gender.’

The 51-year old claimed young people were ‘pleasingly accepting of and sympathetic to those whose lives are made miserable by the inability of institutions to adapt to their gender-fluidity or their gender-neutrality.’

But the move was condemned by parents and pupils — some as young as 12 — who said they felt ‘less comfortable and happy’ at the £20,370 a year school where old pupils include cricketer Phil Tufnell, former BBC presenter Barry Norman and inventor Sir Clive Sinclair.

George Soros Donates $18 Billion to His ‘Open Society’ Foundation

Hungarian-born billionaire investor George Soros is pledging $18 billion — the bulk of his $26 billion fortune — to his Open Society Foundation, completing the integration of his family office, Soros Fund Management, and the charitable organization that serves as a front for Soros’s globalist agenda.

WSJ reports that the gift has vaulted Open Society to the top ranks of philanthropic organizations. It now appears to be the second largest such organization in the US by assets after the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, based on 2014 figures from the National Philanthropic Trust. Soros, who is 87, shares influence over the investment firm’s strategy with Open Society’s investment committee. Soros serves as the committee’s chairman, but the committee was set up to survive him, he said.

  1. ‘The Czech populist movement, ANO, led by a billionaire dubbed as the “Czech Trump”, is the clear favourite in a general election on Friday and Saturday where the traditional parties are set to take a thrashing.’

Is Trump an ex KGB? Has Trump made his fortune via ‘government subsidies’? Is Trump destroying his business competitors by the power of his elected government office?

It’s like saying Stalin, dubbed the ‘Russian Churchill’…

  2. “Three 16-year-old Danish students on a school trip to Lake Garda killed a swan there by hitting it with rocks and sticks”

    Were they Danish or “Danish”?

  3. SJWs always double down. Vox Day definitely hit that one on the head and it is constantly being born out. The NFL has pretty much destroyed it’s brand. Now just to watch the sporal down.

In regards to Kurz, I am encouraged but he is a member of the European CFR so this could all be a ruse to hold off the nationalists. Too often we see politicians say one thing and do the complete opposite.

    • The NFL is ridiculous. If you grew up on taxpayer funded welfare, have a college degree, and $10 million in the bank it is not possible for you to be ‘oppressed’.

Driving around your old hood with a bag of dope, some illegal guns and your gang-affiliated friends and getting arrested for it is merely a case of, “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

Sure the NFL players have a right to protest. I also have a right to ignore them in perpetuity.

On another level, showing respect for the flag and the anthem is one of the most basic expressions of secular, civic unity in the US. Rejecting them to support a terrorist organization that kills police says, “I don’t want to be a part of this nation.”

The protesting players should be fired and shipped to Burkina Faso. That would give them plenty to cry about, especially after their muscles deflate when they crash off their steroid cycle.

  4. This brought back memories of when I was 21 — visiting Rome, many decades ago. While strolling through the second floor of the Colosseum I was suddenly grabbed and assaulted by a Museum Guard — not rape, but sudden hugging and kissing. I fought him off. He followed me to the Roman Forum and apologized but asked for a date. I said “OK I’ll meet you in front of my hotel at 6:00 pm.” I gave him the wrong hotel, but our group was gone at 4:00 pm from another hotel headed towards Naples. I hope he came and waited a long time. Would that be called sexual assault now?

    • Great response to an invasive lout. In the U.S. you could file a report and he’d be interviewed, but most of us don’t find this kind of assault worth the trouble. The way you handled it was much better.
