Marine Le Pen to the Grand Mufti: “I Won’t Veil Myself”

As reported a few days ago, Marine Le Pen, the leader of the Front National in France, backed out of a meeting with the Grand Mufti of Lebanon when it became clear that she would be required to veil herself.

  3. In a display of rare audacity, this lady stands out against the oppressive cult. This small pièce de résistance may be heralding her future as Madame President de la Republique … Kudos, Marine!

  4. Perhaps she could have also demanded that if the muslim wants to visit France he must wear normal Western clothes.

  5. Her “obligation” to wear a veil? Excuse me, but she has no such obligation. She is not a Muslim and she is not one of his subjects. It’s his problem, not hers.

    • Under sharia, non-Muslims are obliged to obey certain parts of Islamic law, in particular those that apply to the status of women. So, from the point of view of a Muslim, Ms. Le Pen DOES have the obligation to wear the veil when any Muslims can see her.

      The big question is one of enforcement. Outside of Muslim-majority countries, Muslims mostly don’t have the strength of numbers to enforce the law against non-Muslims. However, as soon as they can, they do enforce those laws, against Muslims and infidels alike. That’s the way sharia works.

    • There was one photograph that was circulated widely which showed them walking past some clown. But there was another photograph which I thought was more interesting. It showed them in their Hijabs with their eyes lowered.

  10. Marine Le Pen proves what true Feminist is compared to the Hollywood trash in America who thinks they speak for women. She should be lauded for her intestinal fortitude to defy terrorists and to prove to the world what a REAL WOMAN is.

  11. I applaud Ms Le Pen for not giving in to such requests or demands from one of those religious thugs. If people stop giving respect to those religious thugs, the world would be a better place to live in.
