Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/18/2017

In her latest campaign speech, Marine Le Pen, the leader of the Front National in France, said that France will no longer knuckle under to the EU and take orders from Brussels and Berlin. Ms. Le Pen now has a clear lead over other candidates, including the Socialist candidate Emmanuel Macron.

In other news, according to a report by a British think tank, in just two years the Swedish government’s immigration policy has turned public opinion against the migrants. Meanwhile, the Swedish parliament may have to raise taxes to pay for the expense of maintaining unemployed “refugees”.

Ashton Kutcher in War Against Pedophiles and Sex-Trafficking

“I’ve been on FBI raids where I’ve seen things that no person should ever see…”

Ashton Kutcher took a break from the big screen on Wednesday to deliver a compelling testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at a hearing to help end sex trafficking and modern-day abuse. The 39-year-old actor is also the chairman and co-founder of a company called Thorn, which utilizes advanced technology to detect, deter, and even prevent instances of sex trafficking and abuse.

Kutcher began his passionate testimony by thanking the committee, noting:

“This is a bipartisan effort, and in a country that is riddled with bipartisan separation on so many things, slavery seems to come up as one of these issues that we can all agree upon.”

He then went on to explain what inspired him to double down in his fight against sex-trafficking and pedophiles:

“I’ve been on the other end of a phone call from my team asking for my help, because we had received a call from the Department of Homeland Security telling us that a seven-year-old girl was being sexually abused and that content was being spread around the dark web and she’d been being abused and they’d watched her for three years and they could not find the perpetrator. Asking us for help. We were the last line of defense, an actor and his foundation were the potential last line of defense.”

Ashton Kutcher got emotional when describing what he experienced throughout the course of his work:

“I’ve been on FBI raids where I’ve seen things that no person should ever see. I’ve seen video content of a child that’s the same age as mine being raped by an American man that was a sex tourist in Cambodia. This child was so conditioned by her environment that she thought she was engaging in play.”

The entrepreneur and venture capitalist talked about Thorn and the software they’ve developed to fight sex trafficking. “Spotlight” is a program that identifies an average of five kids per day and is used by over 4,000 officers in all 50 states. It’s modeled around a neural network, which is a deep learning technology that gets smarter as it accumulates data. An agent with the Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force has called it “the greatest tool we have in the fight against human trafficking.”

Thorn has identified over 2,100 traffickers and has rescued more than 6,300 victims. As Ashton Kutcher mentioned, “Technology can be used to enable slavery, but it can also be used to disable slavery, and that’s what we’re doing.”

Burke Man Sentenced for Attempting to Aid ISIS

Haris Qamar, 26, of Burke, was sentenced Feb. 17 y to 8 1/2 years in prison for attempting to provide material support and resources to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization. Qamar was also sentenced to 20 years of supervised release to be completed after he is released from prison.

Qamar pleaded guilty on Oct. 17, 2016. According to court documents, in May 2016, Qamar and an FBI confidential witness (CW) discussed ISIS’s need for photographs of possible targets in and around Washington, D.C., for use in a video that ISIS purportedly was making to encourage lone-wolf attacks in the Washington, D.C., area. Qamar offered the CW ideas of what to photograph, including the Pentagon and numerous landmarks in Arlington and Washington, D.C., which could be targeted for terrorist attacks. On June 3, a conversation was audio and video recorded when the CW picked up Qamar in a vehicle and drove to area landmarks on the list Qamar previously developed. Qamar said “bye bye DC, stupid ass kufar, kill’em all.” Qamar and the CW met again on June 10 and drove to a location in Arlington to take additional photographs for the purported ISIS video.

Court Rules That CNN Officially Puts Out Fake News

CNN aired a “series of false and defamatory news reports”.

Those who accuse CNN and other mainstream media outlets of “fake news” will probably revel in a recent decision by a federal judge in Atlanta, Georgia.

While Judge Orinda Evans didn’t all out declare that CNN was peddling in falsehoods, she did take aim at the network in an initial judgment in favor of a former hospital CEO who sued CNN accusing them of purposely skewing statistics to reflect poorly on a West Palm Beach hospital. Judge Evans didn’t mince words in her 18-page order allowing the case to move forward, and dismissing CNN’s attempt to get it thrown out of court.

[Comment: There was another court opinion years ago which said that news agencies are under no obligation to report the truth.]

Forget Flynn; Logan Act Could Ensnare Top Establishment Insiders

Globalists and establishment types, watch out. The establishment media-driven brouhaha over Trump’s national security advisor Lt. General Michael Flynn, who just resigned amid the controversy, has resurrected talk of an obscure U.S. law known as the Logan Act. Passed more than 200 years ago, the federal statute makes it a crime for Americans to seek to influence the policies of foreign governments without official permission from U.S. authorities. And Flynn aside, there are plenty of Americans in that category — potentially including top power-brokers ranging from Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to senior globalists and Bilderberg bigwigs including David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger.

Anti-Trump forces and the establishment media organs they control have alleged that Flynn’s phone call with the Russian government’s U.S. ambassador may have run afoul of the 1799 statute. At the time of the phone call, Flynn was a top official on Trump’s transition team. But the globalists, Democrats, and others touting the Logan Act should be very careful what they wish for. If the act were to actually be enforced, more than a few globalists and senior members of the ruling establishment might find themselves behind bars…

But the Democrats and their establishment media allies should think very carefully about their strategy. Ironically, it seems that a much stronger case could be made that Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have both violated the Logan Act. A 2008 article by Pamela Meister published by Accuracy in Media laid out the case against both clearly.

[Comment: Time to use the Logan Act to imprison globalists and traitorous communicrat politicians.]

Former Clinton IT Aide May Face Criminal Charges Over Email Server

Bryan Pagliano was responsible for managing Clinton’s private server

A former State Department IT technician who set up Hillary Clinton’s private email server in her home may face criminal charges for avoiding multiple subpoenas to testify on Clinton’s email server.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter on Thursday to Attorney General Jeff Session asking that Bryan Pagliano be charged for ignoring multiple subpoenas requesting that he testify before the Oversight Committee.

Pagliano was responsible for managing Clinton’s private server and also served as a senior adviser to the former secretary of state.

“Because Pagliano’s job functions included supporting mobile computing issues across the department, he was uniquely positioned to answer questions regarding State Department policies and practices for preserving records, as well as the technological procedures utilized to do so,” Chaffetz wrote.

Liberals Are Furious With Rep. (R-Utah) Jason Chaffetz, Because They Say He is in President’s Trump’s Pocket , as Head of the House Oversight Committee.

The fact IS he promised to investigate Hillary Clinton’s email scandal for the public, as he was furious, as we the people are, that Clinton got away with the breaking of so many laws. I thank Chaffetz for doing this! But the public of Jason Chaffetz would rather him investigate Kellyanne Conway — what a waste of time and a complete joke. This just shows you how far Trump’s enemies will go to wreak havoc upon him, and now Jason Chaffetz is getting the same treatment.

Media Lapdogs Become Rabid Attack Dogs

Instead of probing the leaks or the bureaucratic resistance to the new President, the mainstream media is focusing on the Russian connection and speculating if the Donald Trump is being blackmailed. They are pushing the narrative that the Russians stole the election for Trump and he is beholden to them. The Flynn story just allows the media to engage in wild, unsubstantiated speculation about Trump’s so-called Russian involvement and mention that this is another possible “Watergate” scandal.

Fortunately, our new President is not a shrinking violet and can return fire to the media. Yesterday, in his first post inaugural news conference, President Trump held court for 77 minutes and enjoyed himself while scolding the media for their “dishonest” practices. He reserved special anger for CNN’s biased reporting and celebrated the low ratings of their host Don Lemon’s evening program.

To understand the reason for new aggressive attitude toward the Trump administration, it is vital to recognize that the media is overwhelmingly liberal. This has been the case for decades and it is getting worse, not better. For example, the Center for Public Integrity investigated all 2016 presidential campaign donations linked to journalists. An astounding 96% of all journalist contributions, $382,000, were given to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, whereas only 4% of donations, $14,000, benefited the Trump campaign. Trump’s meager fundraising haul was on par with his almost non-existent positive media coverage, no wonder he feels hostility toward the Fourth Estate.

Priebus on Hook for Anti-Trump Sabotage

Chief of Staff offering diplomatic posts to shady donors who will only hurt Trump

Trump loyalists are still up in arms over Chief of Staff Reince Priebus for bypassing Secretary of State Rex Tillerman to slip to President Trump a list of crony fat-cat RNC donors that Priebus wanted to reward with ambassador nominations to plum diplomatic posts.

Infowars.com has previously reported that despite President Trump’s public statements of support, Priebus is on the ropes, as Trump loyalists are assembling evidence that Priebus was responsible for demeaning leaks about Trump to the Washington Post and for engineering the purge of National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Now, Priebus is also on the hook for having recommended to Trump a group of well-healed GOP elite donors with shady pasts that are certain to cause Trump additional headaches in the upcoming congressional confirmation hearings.

Small Business Owner Spends $14,000 Each Year to Comply With Federal Tax Code

68 percent of businesses spend more than $1,000 a year on federal taxes

A small business owner told lawmakers earlier this week that his company spends $14,000 each year to comply with the federal tax code, representing the largest barrier to entrepreneurship.

Tim Reynolds, business owner of Tribute Inc., a software company in Ohio, told the House Business Committee on Wednesday that in addition to the thousands of dollars he spends on accountants to prepare taxes, his company spends about 40 hours a year filling out tax forms and making payments in order to comply.

Reynolds, who also testified on behalf of the National Small Business Association, a group that represents more than 65,000 members, said that 68 percent of businesses spend more than $1,000 a year on federal taxes.

State Dept. Carries Out Layoffs Under Rex Tillerson

Were told their services were no longer needed…

While Rex Tillerson is on his first overseas trip as Secretary of State, his aides laid off staff at the State Department on Thursday. Much of seventh-floor staff, who work for the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources and the Counselor offices, were told today that their services were no longer needed.

These staffers in particular are often the conduit between the secretary’s office to the country bureaus, where the regional expertise is centered. Inside the State Department, some officials fear that this is a politically-minded purge that cuts out much-needed expertise from the policy-making, rather than simply reorganizing the bureaucracy.

There are clear signals being sent that many key foreign policy portfolios will be controlled directly by the White House, rather than through the professional diplomats.

Canadians From Iran and Pakistan Rally Against the “Islamophobia” Law

Federal Liberals will support a backbencher’s motion calling on the government to condemn Islamophobia and study the best ways to quell an “increasing public climate of hate and fear.”

Motion 103, tabled by Liberal MP Iqra Khalid last December and set for debate Wednesday, has sparked divisions among Conservatives and raised the ire of those who argue its adoption could have a chilling effect on free speech…

Khalid denied the motion could in any way restrict the rights of Canadians to express their views on things such as sharia law or face-covering niqab veils.

“This is a motion, this is not legislation,” Khalid said. “And I would be the first person to oppose anything that infringes on our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This motion is about having a study on how we can tackle important issues like systemic racism and religious discrimination.”

But several Tory leadership hopefuls have already made it clear that they will not support M-103. Kellie Leitch tweeted last month that the motion does not treat “all religions equally” and suggested it grants “special privileges” to Islam…

Maxime Bernier suggested that while M-103 is not a bill and lacks teeth, it could be a “first step” in restricting the fundamental right of Canadians to express their opinions on a specific religion.

“We should reaffirm everyone’s right to believe in and criticize whatever belief they want, whether it is Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, atheism, or any other,” Bernier said in his release…

Interim Conservative Leader Rona Ambrose has also said she won’t vote for the motion. Ambrose took to Facebook to explain that while M-103 won’t bar free speech, she is concerned the term “Islamophobia” could be used to shut down legitimate debate and “to intimidate rather than to inform.”

“I do worry that some of my work trying to empower women and girls in Muslim communities could be branded as ‘Islamophobic’ if I criticize practices that I believe are oppressive,” she wrote.

Ambrose said two Tory critics tried to work with Khalid to change the language to reflect the need to fight discrimination against all religious communities, but were denied.

M103 Motion on Islamophobia Needs to Change Its Wording

It’s disappointing to learn Liberal MP Iqra Khalid has zero interest in softening the tone of her controversial motion on Islamophobia.

Mississauga Mom Distraught Over Grade 8 Son’s Crystal Meth Assignment

At first, Delight Greenidge did not believe her eyes when her 13-year-old son brought home a school handout with instructions on how to make and inject crystal meth.

“I popped a blood vessel,” she said. “I was in a state of shock … I’m thinking this cannot be real.”

It also included a long list of ingredients for the task.

Greenidge says her son told her a Grade 8 teacher handed it out to students in his drama class at Erin Mills Middle School in Mississauga, Ont., last week. He claimed the teacher printed it out for his group to dramatize as part of an assignment.

The teacher has been suspended with pay pending an investigation. CBC News has decided not to name the boy to protect his identity.

Pope Francis: ‘Muslim Terrorism Does Not Exist’

Pope Francis denied the existence of Islamic terrorism.

In an impassioned address Friday, Pope Francis denied the existence of Islamic terrorism, while simultaneously asserting that “the ecological crisis is real.”

“Christian terrorism does not exist, Jewish terrorism does not exist, and Muslim terrorism does not exist. They do not exist,” Francis said in his speech to a world meeting of populist movements.

What he apparently meant is that not all Christians are terrorists and not all Muslims are terrorists-a fact evident to all-yet his words also seemed to suggest that no specifically Islamic form of terrorism exists in the world, an assertion that stands in stark contradiction to established fact.

Sweden’s Refugee Policy Turns Public Against Migrants, Demos Report Finds

SWEDEN’S politicians’ open-door refugee policies have turned the Swedish public against migrants in just two years, a study has claimed.

Fears of Swedes losing their culture and identity has fuelled a rise in anti-migrant sentiment, after 163,000 people arrived in the country in last year.

Sweden has been the poster child for openness and toleration for decades but that has changed in just two years, the study by independent British think-tank Demos found.

In September 2015, thousands of people took to the streets with banners saying “Refugees Welcome” while Prime Minister Stefan Löfven spoke about not building walls and offering help “when need is great”.

A year later, in October 2016, his government decided to implement border controls, which had always been available but not used, to stem the rapid flow of asylum seekers.

UN “Together” Propaganda Bid Seeks to Flood West With Migrants

The United Nations has launched a tax-funded propaganda campaign, dubbed “Together,” aimed at changing people’s views and perceptions. Any opposition to the massive influx of immigration from foreign cultures is to be dubbed “hate speech,” the propaganda campaign’s materials suggest. A Review of “The Demon in Democracy”

The aftermath of last year’s presidential election in the United States has been marked by violent protests by individuals who are unwilling to accept the results of the constitutional election process. For the protestors, the election results have disrupted their belief in the irreversibility of that which they deem to be “Progress”; that is, the march toward a post-modern West, where socialism, collectivism, and political correctness rule without challenge. For many conservatives, the shock is seeing the widespread sentiment among so-called Millennials (and others) in favor of anything that attacks the foundations of our civilization, including the intellectual incoherence of trumpeting LGBTQ rights in the same breath that one advocates for unrestricted immigration by Muslims coming from countries that punish homosexuality with the death penalty.

Now, a new book by Polish author Ryszard Legutko sheds light on such phenomena. The Demon in Democracy -Totalitarian Temptations in Free Societies is written by a man who brings a wealth of practical experience and intellectual reflection to the examination of the troubles that haunt the West. Legutko is a professor of philosophy at Jagellonian University and has served in several high offices in the post-communist Polish government, as well as currently serving as a member of the European Parliament. His experiences under communist rule and during the decades that have followed have given him the opportunity to weigh the differences and similarities between communism and “liberal democracy.” As the author notes at the beginning of his book,

“This book is about the similarities between communism and liberal democracy. The idea that such similarities exist started germinating timidly in my mind back in the Seventies of the last century, when for the first time I managed to get out of communist Poland to travel to the so-called West. To my unpleasant surprise, I discovered that many of my friends who consciously classified themselves as devoted supporters of liberal democracy — of a multiparty system, human rights, pluralism, and everything that every liberal democrat proudly listed as his acts of faith — displayed extraordinary meekness and empathy toward communism. I was unpleasantly surprised because it seemed to me that every liberal democrat’s natural and almost visceral response to communism should be that of forthright condemnation.”

  1. After 200 years and a if final resolve can be reached to implement the U.S.Logan Act, one BIG federal penitentiary would be have to be erected to house all the miscreants who have subverted this very important law and for their part in undermining good American government and those governments of other countries.

For my personal satisfaction, the names of Soros, Bush, Clinton, Dulles, Rockefeller, Morgan, Schiff, Warburg, and Wilson, and just to name a few, should always head the list, and one must remember when prosecuting such ‘historical’ names that I save my greatest enmity for one J.P. Morgan, who is the man who denied Nikola Tesla his free energy patent in 1898, that could have gone a long way in eliminating the reliance on the ordinary citizen of this world, who still finds himself, beholden to the BIG Banks.

  2. “Meanwhile, the Swedish parliament may have to raise taxes to pay for the expense of maintaining unemployed “refugees”.”

I think they’ve spotted the cuckoo in the nest far too late and they’re now already hurtling to their doom.

All so predictable and indeed, predicted.

I hope the traitors are beginning to realise and feel the body of fury that is building against them.

  3. I think my comments are only somewhat related to this site. I watched Network (1976) for the first time yesterday. I have to say I was a little surprised by the tv shows they were proposing. Also, I had previously known about the relationship between Jim Jones and communism. What I didn’t know was the relationship between Jim Jones and Islam. That was not in the movie. I just found it by query.

    • Peter Finch got an Oscar for his portrayal of the “Mad Prophet of the Airwaves”; sadly it was posthumous.

    • “I shall be the new mohammed!”–Joseph Smith on the founding of his new cult-Mormonism. Polygamous, too…

  4. “The Jerusalem thing going and the [flag saying] English Parliament etcetera, etcetera — some people might take offence to that.

“I’m not saying people will but I’m saying some people might take offence at that.”

So said the officious Mr Bone of Stoke-0n-Trent Police force. Actually Mr Bone and his ilk are the problem. Officious busy bodies determined to preempt some hypothetical offence. Why doesn’t he wait until someone complains and let the courts test the rights? This is getting dangerously close to the Iranian morality Police.
I do hope the patriotic Englishman gave Mr Bone the traditional English two finger salute.

  5. The West is digging its own grave these days. When will people wake up?

IMO, politically incorrect (of course) is that Muslims belong in the middle east. Period. They go west and then try to recreate their backward culture there. Ain’t working, folks. It is doomed but a lot of people will die, be cut up, and raped before the overall population wakes up. The so-called leaders, like Merkel, don’t care since they have their own security well-covered, courtesy of the tax-payers. It is disgusting to watch this happening, but it’s like a car-wreck — somehow you have to look anyway.
