When a would-be bicycle thief attempted to steal a woman’s bicycle in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Oregon, the owner screamed to attract bystanders’ attention. One of the bystanders, a local cattle rancher, saw the thief getting away and responded by climbing on his horse and chasing after him. When the rancher closed in on the young miscreant, he lassoed him with his rope and held him until the police arrived a few minutes later.
In other news, a Dutch woman in Qatar who was arrested in March after she reported being raped will appear in court on a charge of having sex outside of marriage.

‘Frightening’ Poll Finds Nearly Half of Unemployed Americans Have Quit Looking for Work in 2016
Despite the United States being in the boom phase of the Federal Reserve business cycle, many workers are still unable to find work. And when they can’t find employment opportunities, they simply exit the labor force.
According to a new Harris Poll released on Wednesday, close to half (43 percent) of unemployed Americans have quit looking for work. It’s even more dire for those who have been out of work for a long period of time. The survey found that 59 percent of Americans who haven’t had a job for at least two years have stopped looking for one.
Meanwhile, 51 percent say they haven’t had a job interview in two years. The paucity of employment could also be blamed on the workers themselves as they report spending an average of just 12 hours a week applying to job advertisements.
The biggest share in the unemployment numbers is found in the millennial demographic: 18 to 29. They account for one-third of unemployment. Those who are between 30 and 39 years of age maintain a 20 percent share of the jobless rate.

‘Come and Take it’: Texas Gov. Responds to California Concealed Carry Ruling
Governor blasts controversial ruling infringing right to keep and bear arms
Governor Greg Abbott gave a very Texas response to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision barring the right to carry concealed firearms in public: “Come and take it.”
The federal court Thursday affirmed a lower court judgment ruling “there is no Second Amendment right for members of the general public to carry concealed firearms in public.”
“The right of a member of the general public to carry a concealed firearm in public is not, and never has been, protected by the Second Amendment,” the en banc court wrote in a summary of their ruling.
The 7-4 decision arrived after defendants in two California counties sued the state alleging a law requiring concealed carry applicants prove “good cause” to carry violated the Second Amendment.
“Because the Second Amendment does not protect in any degree the right to carry concealed firearms in public,” the court wrote, “any prohibition or restriction a state may choose to impose on concealed carry — including a requirement of ‘good cause,’ however defined — is necessarily allowed by the Amendment.”
Citing the historic DC v. Heller decision in his principal dissenting opinion, Judge Consuelo Callahan wrote the restriction essentially amounted to a “total ban on the right of an ordinary citizen to carry a firearm in public for self defense.”
In another tweet sent yesterday, Gov. Abbott — a fan of the Constitution and late pro-Second Amendment Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia — decried the court’s belief that it was above the supreme law of the land.

It remains to be seen if Bernie Sanders will get his way and have DNC boss Debbie Wasserman Schultz removed as part of a deal to gain his support for Hillary Clinton.

“Everything is on the table and nothing is off limits,” Wasserman Schultz said Wednesday as the drafting committee convened for the first time.
North Carolina resort owner Bonnie Schaefer, who was appointed to the committee by Wasserman Schultz, made it painfully obvious the right to possess firearms will be on the table.
“I really don’t personally think anyone should have a gun,” Schaefer said on June 8.

Motorcyclist Records ‘Road Rage’ Exchange With Colorado Police Officer
Road raged cop gives motorcyclist lesson on road rage
A motorcyclist caught a confrontation with what he thought was a distracted driver. It turns out a Denver police officer was behind the wheel. The motorcyclist’s helmet camera captured the nearly seven-minute exchange with the officer.
Devin Jones said he started recording all his rides because of how often he comes across distracted drivers. He said he never expected it to be handled like it was.
Out for a morning ride around West 48th Avenue and Zuni Street in Denver on Wednesday morning, Jones said he got behind a car stopped at a roundabout. He said the driver, distracted by his cellphone, was impeding traffic.
So he honked.

Oregon Rancher on Horseback Lassos Alleged Bike Thief
Giddy up.
An Oregon rancher became a white knight on Friday when he used his horse and lasso to valiantly come to the rescue of a woman and her bike in a Walmart parking lot.
Robert Borba was loading his cattle trailer with dog food and a camping tent when he heard a woman screaming that someone was stealing her bicycle, the Medford Mail Tribune reported.
“I seen this fella trying to get up to speed on a bicycle,” Borba said. “I wasn’t going to catch him on foot. I just don’t run very fast.”
So instead, the 28-year-old rancher hopped on his horse, Long John, and chased after the man.
Victorino Arellano-Sanchez, 23, struggled with the gears and eventually gave up on the bike, instead trying to flee on foot.
Borba caught up with the bike bandit and tossed his lasso around the man’s legs, dragging him to the ground in the parking lot.
Even after trying to break free by pulling against a tree near the Carl’s Jr., Borba said he and Long John were able to keep him secure.
“Do you have a badge to do this?” Borba said that Arellano-Sanchez asked him, according to the Mail Tribune.
Eagle Point police arrived 15 minutes later.
“We’ve never had anyone lassoed and held until we got there,” Sgt. Darin May said. “That’s a first for me.”…

Canada’s Supreme Court has legalized oral sex with pets as long as no penetration is involved in a ruling slammed by animal rights groups.
The court ruled 7-1 in favor of a British Columbia man convicted of 13 counts of sexually assaulting his stepdaughters who also “smeared peanut butter on the genitals of his victims and had the family dog lick it off while he videotaped the act,” court documents revealed.

Police Prepare Water Cannons for Anti-Bilderberg Protesters
British couple reportedly arrested for carrying a loaf of bread that police said could be used as a weapon
Water cannons are being prepared by Dresden police in case anti-Bilderberg protests get out of control during demonstrations planned for tomorrow near the site where the secretive group is currently meeting.
Infowars reporters were able to get footage of the vehicles, along with another militarized ‘scoop’ tank, which were situated in a parking lot about half a mile way from the Kempinski hotel.
Within minutes of the cameras rolling, the reporters were told to leave by a security guard.
The water cannons are certain to prompt accusations of overkill given that there have only been a handful of protesters who have showed up so far to protest against Bilderberg, including a British couple who were ordered by police to not display cardboard signs.
The pair were later reportedly arrested for possessing a tent and a loaf of bread, which police incredulously claimed could be used as a weapon.

A Muslim whose father plotted to marry her to a stranger online has become the subject of a groundbreaking legal order to protect her from her parents.
The 21-year-old feared ending up a slave and was told by her devout father she had to undergo female genital mutilation.
But the student was brave enough to seek help and is now the first recipient of civil court orders saving her from forced marriage and barbaric circumcision.
Although both are already offences, the order allows police to stop them taking place at all. Her family faces up to five years in prison if they defy the ruling.
The woman, identified only as Zara, is said not to blame her parents and continues to live with them. Instead she faults the ‘community they were brought up in’.

Dutch Woman Arrested in Qatar After Making Rape Claim
A Dutch woman is being detained in Qatar on suspicion of adultery after she told police she had been raped.
The 22-year-old, who was on holiday, was drugged in a Doha hotel and woke up in an unfamiliar flat, where she realised she had been raped, her lawyer says.
She was arrested in March on suspicion of having sex outside of marriage. She is due to appear in court on Monday.
The alleged rapist is also being held, but says the sex had been consensual.[..]

Childless Woman Demands Maternity Leave
The curse of feminism
Meghann Foye, a childless woman, demands that people without children get maternity leave too.
The purpose, Foye explains, is to allow all workers the same sort of “self-reflection” that parents of small children apparently enjoy in abundance. Writes Foye:

Missing the Point on the ‘Transgender’ Bathroom Wars
“You fundamentally can’t change sex. … Transsexualism was invented by psychiatrists,” said former “transsexual” Alan Finch in 2004. This is a truth; however, it has not stopped the advocates of an invented status from trying to change society. And if conservatives want to preserve sanity, they need to change their arguments.
Recent times have seen a growing number of leftist bathroom dictates, such as the unconstitutional Obama administration directive instructing schools to allow students to use the opposite sex’s facilities if they so desire. In response, conservatives have stated that the real problem is not having a made-up sex status (MUSS) man using women’s bathrooms, but that sexual predators will use an I’m-really-a-woman ruse to indulge their perversion. This is a valid argument one that should be made. Nonetheless, it is not the main problem with the MUSS agenda.
The above conservative argument is sometimes delivered when leftists point out that (some) MUSS people have been using the opposite sex’s facilities for decades without anyone even knowing. And this is true. It also gets at the real point.
To wit: This has nothing to do with men masquerading as women so effectively that they can use a women’s bathroom while raising nary an eyebrow. Such men obviously don’t need a law to gain access to the girl’s room.
This is about socially reengineering society about changing hearts and minds by legitimizing made-up sexual statuses.

The UN Just Ordered Ireland to Legalize Abortion
The statement marks the first time the UN has explicitly recognized access to abortion as a “human right”
The United Nations ruled this week Ireland violated a woman’s human rights by preventing her from having an abortion, and took the unprecedented step of ordering the country to change its laws and constitution to ensure women can exercise their “right” to get an abortion.
The woman filed a complaint with the UN human rights commission after Ireland’s strict abortion laws forced her to travel to the United Kingdom to abort a child with fatal defects. The UN human rights committee ruled on the complaint Thursday, finding Ireland subjected the woman to “discrimination and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment” in violation of her human rights.
Abortion is illegal in Ireland, except to save the life of the mother.
The UN said Ireland is “obliged” to amend its laws and constitution such that women can get “accessible, timely and effective” abortions in the country, in accordance with the UN covenant Ireland signed, as well as to provide the woman with an “effective remedy.”

The film, titled ‘Watching the Moon at Night’, reportedly takes a detailed look at anti-Semitism and terrorism, alleging a link between the two. It goes on to mention crimes against Jews at the hands of Islamic terrorists.
But although the documentary was largely funded by state broadcaster SVT, the channel is now refusing to air it, declining to purchase the rights to show the film in Sweden.
Meanwhile, Sweden has announced that a government-funded imam training course will begin in Stockholm this autumn, and several swimming pools have introduced women-only sessions to accommodate Muslims.
There are no official statistics on the number of Muslims in Sweden, with estimates ranging between 600,000 and 1 000 000 people. The population has grown since the EU refugee crisis began last year, with Sweden and other European countries accepting an influx of asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa.
