Bailout Outrage: Chinese-Built Cadillacs to be Sold in United States

General Motors is hiring Chinese workers to build Cadillac autos that will be sold to the American taxpayers who bailed the company out in 2008.

The plug-in hybrid version of the CT6, which is already manufactured in China, will be available in American showrooms this summer, according to Bloomberg News.

Global Recovery ‘Too Slow’ Says Lagarde

Monetary policy ‘can no longer be alpha and omega’, IMF chief

(ANSA) — New York, April 5 — The global economic recovery is “too slow, too fragile”, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christina Lagarde said on Tuesday.

“The good news is that the recovery continues; we have growth; we are not in a crisis,” said Lagarde.

“The not-so-good news is that the recovery remains too slow, too fragile, and risks to its durability are increasing,” she added. “Let me be clear: We are on alert, not alarm. There has been a loss of growth momentum,” Lagarde continued. “However, if policy makers can confront the challenges, and act together, the positive effects on global confidence — and the global economy — will be substantial,” she said.

Lagarde lauded recent policy moves by the European Central Bank and the US Federal Reserve, but said “monetary policy can no longer be the alpha and omega to (economic) recovery”.

Governments need to take greater action in support of growth, she added.

Student Loan Bubble Update: Some 40 Percent of Borrowers Aren’t Making Payments

Screwing around with loan markets to create huge bubbles, then blaming everything on what remains of the free market when they burst, has been a major socialist pastime since long before subprime mortgage perpetrator Barack Obama reached the Senate.

He’s been doing all that he can to recreate the mortgage bubble, the auto loan bubble is beginning to look ominous, and the student loan bubble may soon burst with a deafening $200 billion pop.

Young Adults Squeezed Out of Workforce

Although the Obama Administration is celebrating the longest consecutive period of unemployment claims under 300,000 since 1973, one major reason claims are low is that a record 93,175,000 mostly younger Americans have been squeezed out of the workforce.

For the week ending April 2, the Department of Labor reported that new seasonally adjusted unemployment claims had fallen by 9,000 to 267,00, a 9,000 decrease from the prior week. The four-week trend came in at 266,750, only a 3,500 increase from the previous week.

4 Social Workers Charged With Child Abuse in Torture Death of 8-Year-Old Gabriel Fernandez: Da

Social workers were negligent in their duty to remove child from severely abusive household.

Four social workers have been charged in connection with the torture death of Gabriel Fernandez, the 8-year-old Palmdale boy who died in 2013 after he was allegedly beaten by his mother and her boyfriend, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Stefanie Rodriguez and Patricia Clement, along with their respective supervisors, Kevin Bom and Gregory Merritt, have each been charged with one felony count of child abuse and one felony count of falsifying public records, prosecutors said in a news release.

The arrest warrant was filed on March 28, the release stated.

Before it’s Too Late: Islamic Violence in America

Obama’s most recent breathtaking whopper, “Republican base has been fed this notion that Islam is inherently violent,” is now plastered all over the Internet like a “BRIDGE IS OUT” sign. Yet any unified protest to this lie is only voiced by a shrinking, relative few who have bothered to do their homework. Barry has once again, just as he has with global warming and other bottomless issues, lied and used his place of influence to shut down the argument for the selfish expediting of his own pet agendas.

Thomas Jefferson’s dream to see an educated, informed Republic be able to make solid decisions in its own governance based upon the FACTS is now, less than three centuries later, practically decimated. He would be sick if he could see how our president is so abusing his trust, and so powerfully deceiving the electorate. Obama has amply demonstrated that, even with the first amendment still up and running, his opposition can advertise the truth as loud as we like while he so egregiously lies like a rug — because, effectively, nobody’s listening.

Anyone who knows anything about Islam knows that “violent Islam” is hidden — in plain sight — packed right in the Koran amongst the verses that appear to speak of peace.

Bill Clinton Unleashes on Black Lives Matter: They Defend Gang Leaders Who Get Kids ‘Hopped Up on Crack’

Former President Bill Clinton slammed a Black Lives Matter protest against Hillary Clinton’s candidacy, and said the group defends gang leaders who get kids “hopped up on crack.”

“I don’t know how you would characterize the gang leaders who got 13-year-old kids hopped up on crack and sent them out into the street to murder other African American children—maybe you thought they were good citizens,” Clinton said.

Black Lives Matter Chief: Minority Criminal Stats a Lie

‘Important to talk about the myth of black-on-black crime’

The leading organizer of the Black Lives Matter movement in Washington, D.C., told a CNN audience in a recent interview with Carol Costello that widespread black-on-black crime just doesn’t exist — the notion is fabricated.

“It’s important to talk about the myth of black-on-black crime as just that — a myth,” said Aaron Goggans, head of Black Lives Matter, DC, on CNN. “Any Google search of the term comes up with a lot of different articles.”

His comments came in context of discussing remarks made by former NFL Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who slammed the Black Lives Matter movement for ignoring the statistics of black-on-black crimes and harping instead on instances of white officers fatally shooting black suspects. Lewis, as WND reported, posted the scathing assessment of Black Lives Matter on his Facebook page, and it shortly after went viral.

But not all responded to Lewis with favor.

Costello asked Goggans: “So, Ray Lewis is wrong?”

In the video “Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America,” Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson — a true black leader whom many affectionately call “the other Jesse” — shows how the civil rights establishment has made a lucrative career out of keeping racial strife alive in America.

Chaos as SJW Students Crash “Students for Trump” Meeting

Fights nearly broke out.

It was utter chaos at Portland State University Thursday evening, as over 100 wackjob commie students crashed the forming meeting for Students For Trump.

Fights nearly broke out, doxing and vandalism threats were issued to Trump supporters, Latino students were shoving the Trump students out of the way, another student encourages others to join anti capitalist groups, they shut down and silenced the pro Trump group, mocking their talking points, whined about TRUMP chalk on the sidewalk, and it ends with the socialist students gloating about shutting it down and promising to come back if Students For Trump holds another meeting.

Rumor has it that the organizer of the Students For Trump meeting called campus security after the fight nearly broke out, but security refused to act and never sent any officers.

Dems on FEC Vote to Punish Conservative for Making Anti-Obama Movie

The next time a liberal claims there is no such thing as liberal media bias, all you have to do is ask why this story wasn’t covered outside of Fox News and sites like ours. A man makes an independent film critical of the president, and the Federal Election Commission comes within one vote of punishing him for it. He didn’t coordinate with any candidate or any party. He did it entirely on his own because he had something to say. Yet the FEC, which by law consists of three Democrats and three Republicans, actually takes a vote — which ends in a tie along party lines — to find him guilty of violating campaign finance reporting rules.

Had there been one more Democrat vote — which is something Democrats want by the way — Joel Gilbert would have been forced to disclose all his funding sources for the film:

During a panel discussion on religious freedom around the world Wednesday, Former Rep. Frank Wolf declared that the world is already “in World War III.”

Wolf joined several leading experts on religious freedom at the Family Research Council to discuss what actions can be taken now that the U.S. State Department has officially acknowledged ISIS’ actions against religious minorities as genocide.

Wolf has spent his time retired from Congress advocating for global religious freedom. He said Congress must acknowledge the terror groups in the Middle East are all connected and that they pose a huge national security threat to the United States.

Maryland: Whites Ordered to “Integrate”

The US Government has forced the 63 percent white Baltimore County to accept being flooded with impoverished blacks from Baltimore city in taxpayer-subsidized “low-income housing.”

The order, which will destroy the region’s last white residential suburbs, was made legal in terms of a “conciliation agreement” between Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Baltimore County government.

The “agreement” was reached after a suit was launched by the black supremacist National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a “fair housing group,” and three individuals who claimed Baltimore County had failed to “affirmatively further fair housing.”

The March 15 agreement mandates that “African-Americans” be resettled at taxpayer expense in the county, and was lauded by Hispanic HUD Secretary Julián Castro as a “catalyst to promote housing mobility” and to “address residential segregation.”

What it actually will do is move thousands of low-income, unemployed-and unemployable-blacks out of Baltimore city into the remaining white areas of the surrounding Baltimore County-and destroy them the way that they’ve already destroyed the city.

In addition, the county must also provide 2,000 “Housing Choice Vouchers” to help families gain access to “higher opportunity neighborhoods”-i.e. white neighborhoods.

Housing Choice Vouchers form part of the federal government’s subsidy program, which pays a significant portion of a rental or purchase agreement to assist “very low-income families to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.”

The HUD “agreement” goes on to state that Baltimore County must “proactively market the units to potential tenants who are least likely to apply, including African American families.”

In addition, the county must introduce legislation that prohibits housing discrimination based on a person’s lawful source of income. This in effect means that a private owner will be outlawed from refusing to rent to anybody whose only source of income is a welfare check.

As if all that was not enough, the agreement also ordered Baltimore County to pay $150,000 to the three individuals who originally launched the complaint.

Mom Arrested for Letting Kids Walk to McDonald’s Around the Corner

A South Carolina mom who let her 9-year-old nephew walk her 3-year-old son to the McDonald’s less than a quarter mile away has been-I’m sure you can finish this sentence in your sleep by now-arrested and charged with child neglect.

The reason? According to WSPA News 7:

The officer says the boys had to cross a street and pass several businesses and homes to get to the eatery, putting their safety at risk.

The mom, Tiesha Mesha Hillstock, 24, told the police the unthinkable: She had trusted the older boy to “take care of his cousin.”

Which, apparently, he was doing. Nonetheless, when the kids were spotted without an adult, or drone, or armored tank to keep them safe, the cops swooped in and accompanied them back to their home. Then the Spartanburg police department then issued an arrest warrant for mom.

Because anytime a child is unsupervised, a parent must be arrested. It’s as simple as that.

Obama: Let Big Brother in if You Want Online Protection

President Obama urged students to open up their digital life to the federal government, if they wanted to be protected by the government, calling the current privacy expectations from Americans unrealistic.

“People have a whole new set of privacy expectations that are understandable. They also expect though that since their lives are all digitized, that the digital world is safe, which creates a contradictory demand on government,” he said.

Obama discussed the issue during a conversation about the Supreme Court at the University of Chicago, where he used to teach Constitutional law.

He pointed out that citizens expected the government to protect them from hackers and terrorists, but refused to allow the government to have some sort of access to their information.

Users Complain Over Facebook Hiding Messages in Secret Inbox

Numerous complaints have been made by Facebook users after it was discovered that the social network has been hiding people’s messages in a tucked-away “spam” folder, despite some of the messages coming from friends and family.

It was previously known that the social network hid messages from those who you weren’t “friends” with in a secondary “other” inbox, but now people are starting to find dozens of unread and never before seen messages in an even more hidden away “Filtered Message Requests” tab.

“Not sure when or if you’ll get this as Facebook seems to decide. Anyway I am trying to track old friends of my partner [REDACTED]. Unfortunately [he] passed away last week. I just want to pass this on has he had planned to say goodbye to many people and I am just trying to finish his list,” read one message posted by a user. The recipient of the message claims that he only discovered his friend had passed two months later because of Facebook’s inbox switching.

“Nice one Facebook, this hidden message thing has got my wife in tears. She was contacted by a cousin, who has died since sending the message,” wrote another victim of Facebook’s secret message meddling.

Anti-White “Police No-Go Sharia Triangle” Established in Dutch Capital

An area only two kilometers (1.4 miles) from the city center of the Dutch capital The Hague has been so thoroughly colonized by Third World invaders that it has become “orthodox Muslim territory” into which not even the Dutch police dare venture, it has been reported.

Last Tuesday, social affairs minister Lodewijk Asscher and well-known Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders paid separate visits to the area, and are scheduled to report to the Dutch parliament next week.

The area, Schilderswijk, is known locally as “the Sharia triangle”, is being run by an unofficial Sharia police force.

The almost entirely Muslim population of some 5,000 people surrounds the El Islam mosque, and has effectively ethnically cleansed the area of all native white Dutch people by simply threatening them until they left.

Germany Orders Raids in Homes of Citizens Writing Anti-Muslim Migrant Social Media Posts

Spokesmen Redlich also mentioned that they had found several unconstitutional symbols but did not divulge specifics

The Berlin police have told media that they already knew of the suspects and said that many of them have what they consider a “right-extremist” background. Police spokesman Stefan Redlich said that while many of the men shared anti-Muslim migrant views, “the men do not know each other according to previous findings,” and there was no evidence of any planned conspiracy to commit crime among them.

POLICE IN BERLIN GERMANY HAVE RAIDED TEN APARTMENTS BECAUSE RESIDENTS MAY HAVE POSTED ‘ANTI-MUSLIM MIGRANT’ VIEWS ONLINE.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Germany is country that has been overrun with teeming hordes of Muslim migrants, brought in by Angela Merkel. Thousands of German citizens have been attacked, raped, assaulted and their homes vandalized. But if you dare to post the truth on social media about what is really happening in Germany, you will have your computers seized and you will be arrested. How much longer until that begins to happen here in America?

Berlin Police completed a large scale raid on internet users Wednesday. The officers ransacked ten separate apartments in the German capital in the suburbs of Spandau, Tempelhof, Marzahn, Hellersdorf and Pankow.

The force confiscated mobile phones, narcotics and weapons. Nine suspects were arrested, aged 22-58, and are accused of posting messages critical of migrants, migrant helpers and some anti-semitic slogans on social networks like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter, reports Berliner Morgenpost.

IN SOME OF THE HOMES SEARCHED POLICE WERE FORCED TO ADMIT THEY HADN’T FOUND ANYTHING AT ALL, BUT REDLICH JUSTIFIED THE RAIDS SAYING THEY WERE MAYBE, “PEOPLE WHO JUST ONCE EXPRESSED THEIR HATE-OPINION.”

One of the raids in particular was prompted by a Facebook comment to an article regarding an Afghani migrant who was shot dead at the Bulgarian border. The incident took place in October and according to Bulgarian officials it was an accident as a bullet was meant to be a warning shot but ricochet and hit him.

The post responded to the article saying that it was unfortunate too few migrants met with a similar fate, as it might scare the rest of them from coming.

Police announced that the raids show Germans that they are not as safe online as they might think. They say that anyone who says something xenophobic, spreads hate toward migrants, or shares what they consider to be xenophobic music, may be next on the list of apartments to be raided in the future.

58 police were involved in the raids and some illegal items were found in a few of the apartments. Police found one revolver handgun, though it was not mentioned if it had any ammunition or whether or not is was deactivated. They also found an air soft gun, which requires a license to own in Germany and a stun gun that appeared to be camouflaged as a flashlight.

Spokesmen Redlich also mentioned that they had found several unconstitutional symbols but did not divulge specifics. Banned symbols in Germany include Nazi era symbols like the swastika and various Nordic runes used by the Nazis during the era.

Berlin has seen a rapid increase in prosecutions for speech on the internet. In 2014 there were 196 investigations into anti-migrant and xenophobic posts, while 2015 saw 289 cases. In the last six months there have been three raids prior to this one, but so far this has been the largest in scale. Investigators have set up a special task force who work with the organization Network Against Nazis (NAN), headed by ex-stasi agent Anetta Kahani, to monitor internet postings across Germany.

Google and Facebook have been criticized for helping the German government crack down on speech that is critical of migrants and of the policies of German chancellor Angela Merkel. The policy led to the deletion of the Facebook account of a young girl whospoke out about the migrant crisis and how she no longer felt safe walking the streets of her town.

Redlich says that the team is constantly searching YouTube, Twitter, WhatsApp and especially Facebook where most cases are pursued because users are forced to use their real names. He said the message of the raids is clear, “the internet is not above the law.”

The raids come just days after British police issued an apparently menacing tweet, warning them not to get into trouble on-line. As reportedby Breitbart London, the Greater Glasgow Police offered internet users this helpful advice: “Think before you post or you may receive a visit from us this weekend. Use the internet safely. #thinkbeforeyoupost”. source

German Police Told: “Don’t Say Rape”

The Socialist Party of Germany (SPD)-ruled interior ministry of the German state of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) ordered police not to use the word “rape” when reporting sex attacks by nonwhite invaders, it has emerged.

The deliberate censorship of the seriousness of the “refugee” sex crime plague which continues to sweep through Germany is the second such scandal to emerge since the attacks last New Year’s Eve in Cologne.

According to the Express newspaper in Cologne, the NRW interior ministry “put pressure on a senior police officer to remove the word rape from an internal report issued on New Year’s Day.”

The document was written by the chief commissioner of the criminal investigation of Cologne, identified as Joachim H., who was on duty over New Year’s Eve…

However, after sending in the report to the interior ministry, the police office received a call back.

In a memo, Joachim H. recalled the content of the conversation as follows, identifying a colleague who took the call as “KHK H. (KHK = Kriminalhauptkommissar, chief commissioner of the criminal investigation):

13.30 pm. In the context of early to late shift handover, KHK H. took a phone call that he ended shortly after I sat down beside him to continue the handover. KHK H. told me once that state’s control center requested that the WE-Meldung be cancelled or that the word rape be removed. According to the National Control Center, this request came directly from the Ministry.

The police officers however refused to change their report, and eventually-despite other attempts to hush up the nature of the mass nonwhite attack, news of the events eventually leaked out.

Italian Firms Have on Average 3.8 Employees Says ISTAT

Tourist accommodation outstrips that in Germany, Spain, France

(ANSA) — Rome, April 7 — Italian firms emply an average of 3.8 people, national statistics agency ISTAT said on Thursday citing 2013 figures. This compares to an European average of 5.9, the agency added. However, the rate of entrepreneurship in Italy — calculated as the ratio of the number of freelancers to the number of employees — was 30.2%, putting the country second only to Greece among EU member states. In Germany and France the rate was 8.3% and 9.5% respectively. As well, ISTAT said Italy had 158,412 tourist lodging facilities in 2014 to a total of 4.8 million beds. This represented an increase respectively of 0.6% and 2.6% over 2013, the agency added. Italy had more available tourist accommodation than Germany, France or Spain but less than Croatia, Austria and Greece.

Italy: Sicilian Governor Defends Armoured Car Spending

M5S accused Crocetta of using employees liquidation payment

(ANSA) — Palermo, April 7 — Sicilian Governor Rosario Crocetta on Thursday defended the regional government’s decision to spend over 250,000 euros on armour-plated cars for officials.

The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) blasted the move and accused Crocetta of using a fund for employees liquidation payments to finance it.

“We are buying two cars without any additional costs for optionals, because the model of the cars is standard,” he said in a statement.

“Each one costs 128,082 euros, including maintenance spending for nine years, for an overall total of 256,164 euros.

“Given that the cars will be used for at least nine years, they will have an annual cost of 28,462 euros, which is 8% of what the region spent before.”

Man Arrested for Mandela Joke in Police State Britain

A joke which compared Nelson Mandela’s long time in passing to a slow-to-shut-down computer resulted in a Staffordshire man being arrested by police, fingerprinted, DNA-swabbed and detained for eight hours-growing evidence of the police state into which modern Britain is turning.

According to a report, Neil Phillips, who runs the Crumbs sandwich shop in Rugeley, also had his computer seized for three weeks after making the joke on a forum.

In one online post, the 44-year-old wrote: “My PC takes so long to shut down I’ve decided to call it Nelson Mandela.”

Mr Phillips was arrested at his home on September 10 and was taken to a police station where he was quizzed about the postings on the Rugeley Soap Box website.

He said: “It was an awful experience. I was fingerprinted; they took DNA and my computer. It was a couple of jokes, Bernard Manning type. There was no hatred.

“You can question the taste, but they’re not hateful. I told the police they got plenty of ‘likes’. What happened to freedom of speech?

“I think they over-reacted massively. Those jokes are ‘out there’, anyway.

“When they took my computer, I thought, ‘what the hell are they looking for?’ To be questioned would have been over the top, never mind arrested.”

“They are jokes that I cut-and-pasted,” insisted Mr Phillips. “‘I didn’t make them up and I didn’t put them on a public site. You have to sign-up and join. It’s turning into the thought police-you can’t do this, you can’t do that.”

After being bailed(!) Mr Phillips was finally informed by police that there “would be no further action based on Crown Prosecution Service decision of there being insufficient evidence to support a prosecution.”

The arrest was the result of a complaint made by a local Liberal-Democrat councillor, Tim Jones, who was apparently “incensed” by this joke that he called in the police.

The old joke that political correctness going so far that it would be illegal to be insulted, appears to be rapidly coming true.

Moroccan Who Wanted to ‘Chop Italian Heads’ Expelled

Real Rape Culture: German Police Instructed to Remove ‘Rape’ From Migrant Assault Reports…

We talked about how Cologne police were trying to cover it up (Surprise! German Police Accused of Covering Up Massive Arab Sexual Assaults) since hundreds of girls being molested by migrants wasn’t exactly glowing news for the governments which allowed said migrants into the country. Bit of a PR nightmare. Now more information has come out. Spoiler alert: We weren’t paranoid Islamophobes…

Local officers had produced an internal “important event” memo entitled “rape, sexual harassment, thefts, committed by a large group of foreign people”… According to Cologne newspaper Express, officers received a phone call from the state police control centre ordering them to take down the report “or otherwise delete the phrase ‘Vergewaltigung’“ — “rape”.

A senior Cologne police officer told Express he was informed of the order by a colleague who took the call, and that state police understood it to be “the wish of the state interior ministry”. [The interior minister] denied a cover-up, but confirmed “professional discussions” had taken place between state controllers and Cologne police over the “classification” of the New Year’s Eve assaults.

I want to make this point clear: the police understood the order to remove “rape” from their reports came from the state interior ministry. The government. Which means the GERMAN GOVERNMENT told the GERMAN POLICE to remove instances of “rape” from reports where Muslim migrants were concerned. What can we conclude from this little tidbit of information?…

Here’s the answer: The German government is more concerned about ruining their PR, they’re more concerned about the political backlash for letting in scores of Muslim migrants, than they are of the safety of their own people. Their own women. Let that sink in.

(ANSA) — Rome, April 8 — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders says he would “very much like to” meet Pope Francis when he travels to the Vatican next week but he has not received an official invitation from the Catholic leader, the Associated Press reported.

It’s “not yet clear,” Sanders told journalists in New York Friday, saying this pope is someone he has “enormous respect for in terms of the mental consciousness that he’s raising.” Sanders’ campaign released a statement Friday saying that Sanders, who is the first Jewish candidate ever to win a presidential primary, will address a conference next week hosted by the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences on social, economic and environmental issues.

‘Stay Away From Antwerp’: Syrian Warns Mother of Another Attack on Belgium

Main shopping street, cinemas potential targets

Police in Belgium are on high alert after a man called his mother from Syria warning her to stay away from the city of Antwerp because another major terrorist attack may be imminent.

The son urged his mother not to visit crowded places in the city, including the Meir, the city’s main shopping street, as well as large cinemas.

The rumor began spreading like wildfire on social media on Wednesday and was later confirmed as a genuine threat by police.

“That message has reached us several times,” police spokesman Wouter Bruyns told gva.be. “In times of heightened terror threat we take such reports very seriously,” he added.

Police are investigating the call but refuse to be drawn on whether a concrete plan for an attack is in the works.

Belgium remains on high alert after last month’s attacks in Brussels at an airport and a metro station which killed 32 people and injured over 300.

UK: Man Arrested Over ‘Murder’ of Missing PC Told Neighbours He Was ‘Cooking for a Mate’ When They Complained About ‘Smell of Death’ Coming From the Flat Where Dismembered Body Was Found

The man who was arrested over the alleged murder of missing policeman Gordon Semple told neighbours he was ‘cooking for a mate’ when they raised concerns about the ‘smell of death’ coming from the flat where the dismembered body was found.

Mr Semple, who was gay, vanished on April 1 shortly after leaving the five-star Shangri La hotel in The Shard skyscraper, which is next to London Bridge.

Detectives investigating the disappearance of the Met police officer arrested a 49-year-old man after discovering human remains in a property in Peabody Estate in Southwark. The force swooped on the area after a neighbour reported a ‘smell of death’.

Martin Harris, 49, today said he had knocked on the door of the flat where the body was found to complain about the smell. The man who answered the door was wearing nothing but blue Speedos and a pair of glasses…

Montenegro: Corruption-Fighting Efforts Face Scepticism

Prevention and suppression, Govt says. Just the small fish, NGO

PODGORICA — The environment is not the only difficult and delicate negotiation chapter in Montenegro’s EU integration process (for which Podgorica estimates it will have to invest 1.5 billions euros). Corruption is also a key theme, one of the scourges of the country, which came in 61st place in Transparency International’s latest corruption rankings.

“The government is aware of the problem,” said Justice Minister Zoran Pazin during a meeting with a group of European journalists in Podgorica. “But there is a will to change things.

We are working towards this on two fronts: on one side, we have created an anti-corruption agency that has the aim to prevent conflict of interests in the public administration and to supervise financing of parties, on the other side, we are working on suppression of the phenomenon”.

The minister then also pointed to the creation of the “Special prosecutor’s office” that has already carried out some significant arrests.

Nevertheless, several observers are sceptical of the real desire to change things.

“The anti-corruption agency is a farce,” said Vanja Calovic, executive director of the MANS NGO that investigates corruption, conflicts of interest and parliament’s activities. “It was created just to show a response following pressure from the EU and U.S., but up to now the investigations have only concerned small fish,” she told a group of journalists. Then she turned on the EU: “It would consider anything good, no one wants to create problems considering the accession process underway,” she said.

Calovic’s activism for MANS has often made her the target of threats and intimidation. More than a year ago, some pro-government media launched a defamatory campaign against her, publishing videos that turned out to be false, aiming to discredit her. But this has not stopped her, and her efforts have borne fruit. Last year two ex-mayors and several of their associates were arrested for embezzlement, and more than 50 million euros were returned to state coffers.

“The aim is transparency,” Calovic said. The NGO does not only deal with reporting corruption, but it carries out its own investigations. As a result, it is often threatened and intimated, but Calovic said “it is part of the job”.

Syria: Islamic State Destruction in Mar Elian Monastery is “Total”

Caritas coordinator Fr Iyad Ghanem describes the devastation at the church, monastery and hostel. Jihadis blew up the saint’s tomb. At present, Al-Qaryatayn is a ghost town littered with mines and unexploded bombs, which need to be cleared. However, the greatest tragedy is the flight of Christians; for them, what is needed are “prayer and mercy.”

Homs (AsiaNews) — Fr Iyad Ghanem, Caritas Syria Coordinator in Homs diocese, spoke to AsiaNews about Mar Elian monastery, which is located in the recently liberated town of al-Qaryatayn.

The site is totally destroyed, he said. Initially, we thought the Islamic State (IS) group had “only damaged the saint’s burial place”; however, everything is smashed, “the church, the monastery, and the hostel” for visitors and pilgrims.

Recently, the clergyman got in touch with Mgr Philippe Barakat, procurator for the Syriac Catholic patriarch, who has visited the city and seen the monastery. What he found defies imagination: “complete devastation”.

“They put a bomb in the saint’s tomb and blew it up,” Fr Iyad said. “From a preliminary look, the tomb and everything inside were destroyed. It is total destruction — there are no other ways of putting it. It was one of the most important and ancient Christian sites in Syria.”

Mar Elian monastery is located near the town al-Qaryatayn (“the two villages” in Arabic), in Homs Governorate, central Syria, a country battered by five years of a civil war that has killed 260,000 people and displaced millions more.

In August 2015, after they conquered the area, IS militants proceeded to demolish with bulldozers the 5th century building as well as the church graveyard. The site held the tomb with the remains of Saint Elian, who was martyred for refusing to renounce Christianity. The militants then posted their deed online.

Fr Jacques Mourad, a Syriac Catholic priest, headed the monastery. After months in IS captivity he managed to flee.

In a long interview, he talked about his ordeal, which included a mock execution. Speaking soon after his escape, he described the pain and suffering, noting that silence is the best answer to such a trial.

With a population of about 30,000 people, including about a thousand Christians, al Qaryatayn was a symbol of religious coexistence.

According to legend, when the Arabs arrived in the 7th century, one of the two most important local families converted to Islam, whilst the other remained Christian. The goal was to protect each other from external threats and attacks.

Today the area is considered a strategic hub in Homs governorate and is rich in mineral deposits. Just last week, the Syrian army was able to retake it from IS with the help of Russian air raids.

Despite its liberation, al-Qaryatayn is a ghost town, shop windows broken, and buildings damaged or collapsed from the intense fighting. The retreating Jihadis took their captives with them, including some Christians.

“The government is preventing people from entering because the streets are full of mines and unexploded bombs,” Fr Iyad said. “The area has no electricity or drinking water.”

“Not far from there, there is heavy fighting in another town between Daesh (Arabic acronym for IS) and the regular army. There is no security and it will take time to clear the area.”

Despite the devastation suffered by the monastery and surrounding areas, “we have not lost many people. Most of our people are still alive and safe.” As for the rest, “it is known that where Daesh passes” only “destruction and debris remain”.

“We are sad for the loss of the tomb, and the monastery, but what makes us really sad is the exodus of Christians from the country, especially young people.”

“The destruction hurts”, but the flight of the faithful “is much worse . . . This is our great wound. The church and the monastery can be rebuilt, but there is nothing worse than the loss of young people,” Fr Mourad said.

“In this jubilee year, Syria needs more than ever mercy and prayer. We ask everyone to pray for us to stop the war, to let us out of the tomb in which we have fallen, and to look at this in the future with mercy and consolation. Christ is risen . . . and is a source of consolation for us.”

Italy: Man Beats Wife Who Refused to Wear Veil

Investigated for battery

(ANSA) — Genoa, April 8 — A Pakistani shopkeeper is being investigated for beating up his wife when she refused to wear an Islamic veil, sources said Friday.

The man, 31, is under a restraining order pending the investigation on charges of battery and bodily harm.

“He said I could wear jeans but then he always found an excuse to beat me up, saying they were too tight,” the victim told investigators after she ran away from home with the couple’s two children and reported her husband to police.

“Same thing for the veil — when I said I didn’t want to wear it, he beat me up”.

She said the domestic abuse went on for a year. She moved to Italy in March 2015.

Monsanto Has Been Overcharging and Swindling Indian Farmers for Far Too Long

The Telangana government is complaining to an Indian State High Court that companies like Monsanto, along with Indian associates such as Mahyco Monsanto Biotech, are exploiting farmers in the South India state.

Senior counsel C S Vaidyanathan, who appeared for the Telangana government, said that though Monsanto was charging only Rs 23 as royalty per pack of BT cotton seeds, its 50-50 Indian partner, Mahyco, and several seed manufacturers, were fleecing farmers by collecting Rs 1,250 per pack as a ‘royalty.’ The government had previously fixed Rs 50 as the maximum royalty allowed per seed pack.

Monsanto apparently had no right to collect any royalties though, since, according to Vaidyanathan, Monsanto does not possess a patent for BT1 cotton seed varieties, and only owns a patent for the BT2 variety. The company has been collecting royalties for both.

Cameron ‘Tottering’ In Panama Papers Row

Accused of hiding involvement

(ANSA) — Rome, April 8 — British Prime Minister David Cameron has been left “tottering” by a row over shares he had in his late father’s offshore tax haven revealed in the Panama Papers, British dailies said Friday.

From the pro-government Daily Telegraph to the progressive Guardian, Cameron is accused of keeping mum till Thursday about the profits from an offshore company set up by Ian Cameron, with several dailies accusing him of “hypocrisy”.

The tabloid Daily Mirror stresses the mounting calls for Cameron to resign from opposition Labour MPs.

China and Russia Slam Panama Papers as Western Propaganda Out to Discredit Them

Chinese and Russian authorities censor information linking their leaders to the scandal. For the Global Times, a state-controlled paper, “Information that is negative to the U.S. can always be minimized, while exposure of non-Western leaders, such as Putin, can get extra spin”. In China, search engines have blocked access to sites with information. The Papers mention 600 Israeli companies.

Beijing (AsiaNews/Agencies) — China and Russia have dismissed the Panama Papers as Western propaganda designed to undermine the credibility of the two Asian powers. This follows Sunday’s leak of millions of documents on the offshore accounts of close associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In an editorial published yesterday, China’s Global Times newspaper, which is owned by the People’s Daily, said, “The Western media has taken control of the interpretation each time there has been such a document dump, and Washington has demonstrated particular influence in it”.

Without mentioning the Chinese officials named in reports, it also noted that “Information that is negative to the U.S. can always be minimized, while exposure of non-Western leaders, such as Putin, can get extra spin.”

Some 11.5 million records from the Panama-based Mossack Fonseca law firm were anonymously leaked to German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung. About 370 journalists from 70 countries and more than 100 news organisations in the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) got involved to process the information.

The documents, which span from 1977 to 2015, describe offshore accounts of 140 world figures, many of them Asian, like the children of Li Peng, the ‘butcher of Tiananmen Square’, and the emir of Qatar.

Whilst the Panama Papers do not mention Putin directly, they show that at least US$ 2 billion in transactions involved people and companies with close ties to the Russian leader.

According to Moscow, this is an attempt to undermine the president’s election prospect in upcoming parliamentary elections in September.

Russian state media largely ignored the reports on Putin.

The case has also touched Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is leading an anti-corruption campaign within the Party, because his brother-in-law Deng Jiagui was a shareholder in two British Virgin Islands companies, and reportedly owns hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate.

According to the BBC, the Panama Papers also mention the family members of two members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo.

Attempts to search “Panama Papers” on Baidu Inc.’s Google-like search engine returned only a one-line warning that “search results may not comply with relevant laws or regulations.”

Tax authorities in Israel said Tuesday they were searching the mass of leaked documents after media reports suggested that 600 Israeli companies and two major banks (Bank Leumi and Bank Hapoalim) were listed in the Papers.

A spokeswoman for the tax authorities said the information from the leak “strengthens our campaign, launched last year, aimed at convincing Israelis who have not declared their fortune abroad to do so without facing penalties.”

Asylum Requests Double in Germany in Quarter

Increase of 112.4 percent compared with the same period in 2015

(ANSA-AP) — TRIESTE — The number of people applying for asylum in Germany during the first quarter of the year has more than doubled compared with the same period in 2015.

Official figures released Friday show 181,405 people applied for asylum in Germany during the first three months. That’s an increase of 112.4 percent compared with the 85,394 asylum requests in the first quarter of last year.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said the rise in asylum requests occurred despite a decrease in new arrivals in recent months. He said the discrepancy was due to a delay between people arriving and formally requesting asylum.

The number of Syrians applying for asylum in Germany during the first quarter was 89,292, compared with 15,444 in the same period 2015.

Over Five Million Foreigners Live in Italy, ISTAT Says

Up 1.9% over previous year, 8.2% of population

(ANSA) — Rome, April 7 — Over five million foreigners legally resided in Italy at the end of 2014 according to a report from national statistics agency ISTAT published Thursday.

This was up 1.9% over the previous year and represented 8.2% of the total population of around 60 million.

ISTAT said 3,929,916 non-EU citizens were legally resident in Italy at the end of 2014, while the number of permits of stay issued to non-EU citizens fell by almost 3% over the previous year, ISTAT said. The level of education of Italy’s foreign population is only slightly lower than that of Italians, the agency added.

Expelling White Heterosexuals From the News Business

The media are once again going nuts over the fact that a state legislature has acted to protect Christians and their churches and businesses from the demands of various sexual minorities. As we have noted before, the power of the real one percent has enormous influence in the major media. The real one percent consists of the open and closeted homosexuals and their allies in positions of power in the major media, academia and the corporate world.

When they want to make an example of Indiana, North Carolina and now Mississippi, they can do so. It is something to behold. They have the ability to make an entire state look like a hotbed of homophobia and hate. The special rights of homosexuals and even “transgendered” people suddenly take precedence over the constitutional rights of religious believers.

What is being demanded is nothing less than the “right” of a man to dress up as a woman and invade the privacy of real women and girls in a ladies’ restroom. That is one of the “rights” that is at stake in what is happening in Mississippi. The legislature and the governor have rejected what is clearly perverted behavior and have affirmed the rights and privacy of those of who understand the science of DNA and biological differences.

  1. “The number of Syrians applying for asylum in Germany during the first quarter was 89,292, compared with 15,444 in the same period 2015.”

I was wondering which part of Pakistan these “Syrians” came from.

  2. “Over Five Million Foreigners Live in Italy, ISTAT Says”
Up 1.9% over previous year, 8.2% of population

That’s interesting, the unemployment level in Italy is at 11%. I think it’s time that Italy stop legal immigration and start deportations!!

  3. It was a hard job, but I read most of these articles. I am still waiting for somebody, anybody, to finally admit that letting all these Muslims into our country was a really bad mistake. But I won’t hold my breath since they still claim they are the religion of peace, rather then the religion of pieces.

Would you let into your country people with infectious diseases? My father had to wait five years before allowed to come to America and all he had was tuberculosis.

How many more deaths and murders will it take for the so-called authorities to wake up and use what little brains they have to realize this was a bad mistake and start deporting offenders? I am sick and tired of reading about Muslim murderers every day in the news. Enough is enough. Send them back to their countries of origin where they can happily kill each other, instead of us. This is beyond ridiculous, it is some kind of sickness of thought.

    May God preserve us.

    • Would you let into your country people with infectious diseases?

Under the program run by the State Dept and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, there are many people coming into the U.S. with infectious third world diseases. There is also a bad outbreak, even in otherwise clean institutional settings like expensive hotels, dorm buildings on campuses, and nursing homes, of bedbugs. MRSA is making hospitals dangerous. People with active TB are working in food processing assembly lines.

The jobs these people have are definitely ones that Americans will do: locals have demonstrated when jobs have gone to people brought in to do them for less than an un-assisted American can live on.

Many of them don’t work but are on our welfare rolls. Some cities complain they can’t take any more stress on their welfare system. They are labeled “pockets of resistance” of ORR, a name some towns are willing to wear with pride.

Read Ann Corcoran’s site…she has more news to post than one person can do. Today she says “I could use ten of me!” [The Baron could use two clones to keep up so I know what she means]. Here:

      https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2016/04/08/obama-administration-full-court-press-is-on-the-syrian-surge-is-coming-and-your-town-could-be-the-next-target/

Yep, the “Syrians” are arriving. She says:

So, how do you find out and what do you do?

I could use ten of me! There are so many stories popping up everywhere across the country which indicate that a full-court press is well underway to “fast-track” thousands of refugees into towns across America before September 30th. See Syrian surge, here. (99% of the Syrians admitted so far are Sunni Muslims.)

The link on “here” leads to her news about what the American Embassy in Jordan is doing.

I urge our American readers to become very familiar with Ann’s material. It is the most comprehensive site we have. Someday her work will be of great historical value; I hope it’s being archived someplace safe.

    • Yes. Mass murder on a scale not seen since WW2 must be on the way. The Muslims have not changed. What a pity our population seems to know zero about personal boundaries?

    • I think you’re wrong in assuming ignorance rather than deliberate evil on behalf of the bureaucrats. They don’t care what problems or deaths are caused by any of this, only that the new voters vote to expand government programs and anything else they want.

    • I’ve never understood how people can be psychiatrists and other kinds of mental health workers. I would hate working in such a stew of irrationality and impulsiveness.

Now the asylum has engulfed me in my daily life.

The most trivial and insubstantial benefits of frightfully destructive policies are touted by the sellout leaders. Utter madness is celebrated, lifted to the heavens, by the likes of Peter Sutherland and Frans Timmermans. Simpler, more efficient, less damaging alternatives are simply ignored.

Like the teenage boy and girl in the horror movie. They go into the basement of the deserted house and you fairly want to shout, “Don’t split up!” But they always do.

Now we shout to the leaders, “Don’t attack free speech! Don’t give welfare to invading foreigners! Don’t elevate foreigners to the status of a new nobility! Seal the borders! Diversity is the death of our civilization!” But they do the precise opposite.

  4. That was a question. Thank you for your answer. I am better understanding now. Like a lot of folk I am observing all this and for now not reacting but thinking wth?!
