Gates of Vienna News Feed 3/30/2016

Two groups of men of “Middle Eastern appearance”, each comprising about 15 people, gathered at a remote location in a California state park, fired automatic weapons while shouting “Allahu Akhbar”, and threatened campers and visitors. One group fled when the police arrived, while the members of the other group were detained, and later released. Local police pooh-poohed rumors about what happened, and said they were “unfounded”.

In other news, the National Border Patrol Council has endorsed Donald Trump for president.

Where is Greece Heading? Four Leading Observers Share Their Views

Last year, it was the escalating uncertainty of the government’s “proud negotiation” with foreign creditors, with its familiar, devastating outcome. This year, it is the first review of Greece’s third bailout under the shadow of a spiraling refugee crisis that threatens to transform the country into a mini-Lebanon inside the European Union. The debate at home, projections about what will come next — a risky exercise in any event — is influenced, more so than in maturer democracies, by the political beliefs of each individual oracle: The universe of possible outcomes is shaped by what they want.

A cool, detached perspective, therefore, can help distinguish the wood from the trees. Kathimerini asked four leading foreign observers of Greek affairs to make their predictions about where the country is headed in the next few months. Unfortunately, none is optimistic.

High School Swimmers Rescued Off La Jolla

LA JOLLA — San Diego lifeguards rescued 20 Moreno Valley-area high school swim team members from the ocean off La Jolla Tuesday when they had trouble making a long-distance swim.

One student was taken to a hospital and was expected to be released, and paramedics treated at least seven others who swallowed too much water or became chilled.

The mass rescue involved 62 swimmers from Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley

Lifeguards had given an ocean safety talk to the students and coaches before they set out from La Jolla Cove to swim toward a buoy a half-mile out into the ocean, lifeguard Lt. John Sandmeyer said.

As the dozens of swimmers set off, some ran into difficulties because of the gusting winds and choppy surf. Some drifted north and were rescued close to La Jolla Shores about 1 p.m. The water was about 59 degrees, and the waves were about 2 to 4 feet tall, and winds gusted from 11.5 to 17 mph, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson said.

Lifeguards helped 20 students back to the beach between the Cove and the Shores and additional swimmers straggled to shore wherever they could. They were gathered at Kellogg Park and all were accounted for, Swanson said.

Peter Schweizer: The Clintons ‘Function as a Kind of Political Mafia’

“If you think about it, the Clintons are like lots of other politicians. They love money,” Schweizer agreed. “They love taking peoples’ money, and I would say with the Clintons, you kind of have it on steroids.”

“But you have this pesky problem in the United States: you can’t take foreign money for a presidential campaign,” he continued. “It’s against the law. You can’t be a foreign corporation and set up a Super PAC for a campaign… You’ve got these rules in the United States that say foreign entities can’t give. So the Clintons say, ‘Hey, we’ve just got to figure out a way around that.’“

A key part of the Clinton system is the infamous speeches given by Bill and Hillary to foreign interests and corporations seeking favor with the U.S. government, raking in fantastically inflated speaking fees.

“It’s a way, effectively, to get around those campaign laws,” Schweizer explained. “Hillary Clinton running for President in 2008, if you’re a foreign oligarch, you can’t give to her campaign, but you can have Bill Clinton give a 20-minute speech for half a million dollars, or you can make a $5 million donation to the Clinton Foundation, and you’ve got access every bit as much as if you had raised money for their political campaign. That’s really what the Clintons have done.”

Schweizer warned that if the Clinton’s tactics for harvesting foreign cash were not dealt with, they will become commonplace. “You’re gonna have politicians in the future imitating them, setting up their own foundations,” he predicted.

Armed Terror Cell Near Los Angeles? Cops Responded —- Then Let Them All Go!

8:28 PM EDT Sunday, 27 March — A heavily armed group of men with Middle Eastern appearance was arrested two hours ago outside Los Angeles after opening fire upon Hikers and Campers in a large State Park in the area.

Photos taken by one of the victims of the attack have been supplied to SuperStation95 as have screen shots of MMS messages sent/received during the incident. They appear below.

No word yet from authorities about the identities or affiliation of the men arrested. The Adelanto, CA Police Department effectuated the arrests.

According to the victim/witness, there were two groups of men, about 15 per group, armed with heavy weapons, who began shouting “Allah u Akbar” and started firing. The firing allegedly lasted upwards of TWO HOURS before police were able to find callers in the vast California parkland.

When police were responding, one group of 15 or so men took-off into the hills, while the other group was captured by police.

According to one of the victim/witnesses, his cellphone GPS map indicates below where the incident took place:

Police responded and quickly made several arrests as shown in the photos below (Click Image to Enlarge):

A call to the Adelanto, CA Police Department went to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and a new “twist” developed.” Kathy, from that department told SuperStation95 “I checked on this and the incident was unfounded.” When told we had photos of almost ten police cars and fourteen men in handcuffs, Kathy responded “You’ll have to contact the Public Information Officer” and gave us an e-mail address to do so!

You’re looking at the pictures; does this look “unfounded” to you?

Woman Tried to Join Heinous Islamic State After Converting to Islam

A MUSLIM convert has pleaded guilty to trying to join the Islamic State less than three weeks after her husband did the same.

Jaelyn Delshaun Young was apprehended with her husband Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla while trying to board a flight to Turkey.

An FBI agent pretending to be a recruiter for the barbaric jihadi group began communicating with the pair.

They vowed to help “correct the falsehoods” in the media about the militant terror organisation — including stories that the twisted ISIS fighters trade young girls as sex slaves.

Green Europe is Killing 40,000 Poor People a Year

Europe’s suicidal green energy policies are killing at least 40,000 people a year.

That’s just the number estimated to have died in the winter of 2014 because they were unable to afford fuel bills driven artificially high by renewable energy tariffs.

But the real death toll will certainly be much higher when you take into account the air pollution caused when Germany decided to abandon nuclear power after Fukushima and ramp up its coal-burning instead; and also when you consider the massive increase in diesel pollution — the result of EU-driven anti-CO2 policies — which may be responsible for as many as 500,000 deaths a year.

But even that 40,000 figure is disgraceful enough, given that greenies are always trying to take the moral high ground and tell us that people who oppose their policies are uncaring and selfish.

Judge: Islamic State Has Flooded Europe With ‘Lone Wolves’ As Smokescreen for Larger Attacks

Islamic State has begun flooding Europe with “lone wolf” attackers with orders to organise their own low-level attacks, as a smoke-screen to tie up security agencies while larger atrocities are plotted, a senior judge has warned.

Although Islamic State terrorists seized territory in Syria and Iraq in 2014, they are believed to have had European targets in their sights for up to four years, aggressively recruiting European potential jihadists into Syria before sending them home as trained fighters detached from the Islamic State hierarchy.

“It served to put all of our agencies on edge. Just like a smoke screen, it allowed them to calmly prepare,” said Marc Trevidic, France’s chief counter-terrorism judge until his retirement last year.

Nigel Farage: Cologne-Style Mass Sex Attacks Could Happen in UK if it Stays in EU

Nigel Farage has claimed Cologne-style mass sex attacks could happen in Britain if it stays in the European Union.

The Ukip leader told a 500 plus crowd at a pro-Brexit rally in Newport, South Wales, that German chancellor Angela Merkel had made a big mistake in lifting restrictions on Syrian refugees last summer.

Public support for asylum seekers in Germany has since dropped following allegations that hundreds of women were groped, robbed and intimated at Cologne’s central station on New Year’s Eve.

Speaking at the cross-party Grassroots Out event, Mr Farage said: “We’ve been through a hundred years of female emancipation and liberation … and now the mistakes of Mrs Merkel are now threatening all of that.

“What we saw outside that train station in Cologne on New Year’s Eve was truly and genuinely shocking.

“I am not saying that we are not immune from such problems in this country.

“But to me, if you allow the unlimited access of huge numbers of young males into the European continent who come from countries where women are at best are second class citizens, don’t be surprised if scenes that we saw in Cologne don’t happen more often.

“For goodness sake, do we want those young men within five years to have EU passports and to be able to come to our country and to reverse a hundred years of female liberation and to change our entire way of life? Surely the answer must be no.

“It is the job of the British Government to make our own laws, to control our own borders and its about time we started putting the interests of our own people first.”

Scotland: Murdered Glasgow Shopkeeper Asad Shah Accused of Being a ‘False Prophet’ By Internet Trolls From Opposing Muslim Group

MURDERED shopkeeper Asad Shah was branded a “false prophet” by a Muslim group opposed to his strand of Islam, it emerged today.

Mr Shah — who was killed four hours after wishing friends and neighbours a “very happy Easter” — regularly posted videos of his peace-loving messages of goodwill.

Now it has emerged that two of Mr. Shah’s videos were used in November 2014 by a group opposed to the Ahmadi strand of Islam to label Mr. Shah a false prophet.

The group, called Khatme Nubuwwat, put the films on video hosting site Daily Motion.

The group titled one of the films “Asad Shah False Prophet part 1”. And it titled the other “Asad Shah False Prophet part 2”.

The revelation is the first indication that Mr Shah’s messages of peace and religious inclusion may have riled Muslim groups opposed to Armadi thinking prior to his “happy Easter” post last week.

[Well, not the first indication, eh.]

Asad Shah, 40, was stabbed to death in his shop in what is feared to have been a sectarian attack against the peace-loving branch of Islam he followed.

Hours before his murder, he had written on Facebook: ‘Good Friday and very Happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation.’

The bearded killer is understood to have travelled from his home in Bradford to Mr Shah’s store in Glasgow.

Terror Suspects Can ‘Waltz’ Into Britain Thanks to EU, Minister Warns

Britain’s Justice Minister has warned that terror suspects currently enjoy a “free pass” into Britain, as the bar for refusing them entry has been set “impossibly high” by European Union (EU) officials. His warning comes as one of the Brussels attackers is identified as a terrorist who travelled to Birmingham last year.

Europol has estimated that as many as 5,000 jihadi who travelled to Syria have now returned to Europe, able to freely travel across the continent from Greece to Sweden.

UK: Nuke Terror Fears: Billions to be Spent to Stop ISIS Hacking Into UK Nuclear Weapons

THE Ministry of Defence (MoD) is planning a massive £2billion upgrade of cyber security to stop rogue nations and terror groups hack Britain’s nuclear arsenal.

Growing fears over a plot by Islamic State (ISIS), China, Russia or North Korea to interfere with the UK’s military has prompted a major review of security policy.

After a high level warning last year that the UK’s nuclear weapons could be wiped out by hackers, the stockpile will now be upgraded to counter emerging threats.

The US-built Trident missile system — Britain’s at-sea nuclear deterrent — will be among the equipment given increased protection under the plan.

Around 225 nuclear warheads are thought to make up Britain’s submarine-based nuclear arsenal.

Ben Innes on Taking a ‘Selfie’ With the Egyptair Hijacker

The 26-year-old British health and safety auditor describes why he posed for picture while held hostage on flight MS181

A British man who posed smiling for a photo with a hijacker on board an EgyptAir flight has said he did it to take “a closer look” at the apparent explosives belt, adding: “I figured if his bomb was real I’d nothing to lose anyway.”

Ben Innes, 26, was one of three passengers and four crew held to the end of a hostage siege, after Seif Eldin Mustafa hijacked the EgyptAir flight bound for Cairo from Alexandria and forced it to be redirected to Cyprus.

The plane landed at Larnaca airport, where Innes was snapped standing next to Mustafa — who was still wearing what he claimed to be an explosives belt — in the cabin of the Airbus 320.

The bomb was later found to be fake.

Innes is a health and safety auditor from Leeds, living in Aberdeen. He was returning home on a business trip when flight MS181 was seized.

He spoke to the Sun about his motivations.

“I’m not sure why I did it, I just threw caution to the wind while trying to stay cheerful in the face of adversity. I figured if his bomb was real I’d nothing to lose anyway, so took a chance to get a closer look at it.

“I got one of the cabin crew to translate for me and asked him if I could do a selfie with him. He just shrugged OK, so I stood by him and smiled for the camera while a stewardess did the snap. It has to be the best selfie ever.”…

UN’s Ban Apologizes for Saying ‘Occupation’

In ironic twist given his broadsides on Israel, UN chief backs down on Western Sahara after Morocco boots UN staff from region.

UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon has apologized for using the label “occupation” — no, not in the context of Israel’s presence in its Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria which he regularly condemns, but rather in Western Sahara.

Ban’s change of heart came after the government of Morocco turned hostile on his “occupation” comments, made earlier this month in a visit to Algerian refugee camps for the Sahrawi people who claim ownership of the Western Sahara.

In response, there were mass protests in Morocco and the state expelled dozens of UN peacekeepers stationed in Western Sahara within three days, a move that the local Sahrawi groups warned could bring about war in the region.

Morocco has occupied the mineral rich region since it was handed to its troops by Spain in 1975, when Madrid ended its colony there. The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) holds a government-in-exile in Algeria, arguing for its rights to rule over the region, and the Algerian-backed Polisario Front has been fighting for independence in the disputed territory.

But apparently Morocco’s hostilities were enough to have Ban reverse his terming of the region as “occupied,” as on Monday UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric backtracked for him, reports Reuters on Tuesday.[…]

Netanyahu Responds to US Senator: You Got the Wrong Address

Netanyahu responds to claim of ‘extrajudicial killings,’ noting that Sen. Leahy did not condemn PA leaders for inciting to murder.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has responded to a letter in which US Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) called for an investigation into claims that Israel carries out extrajudicial killings against Palestinians.

“The IDF and the Israel Police do not engage in executions. Israel’s soldiers and police officers defend themselves and innocent civilians with the highest moral standards against bloodthirsty terrorists who come to murder them,” he wrote.

“Where is the concern for the human rights of the many Israelis who’ve been murdered and maimed by these savage terrorists? This letter should have been addressed instead to those who incite youngsters to commit cruel acts of terrorism.”

Ten other Democratic members of Congress also signed Leahy’s letter. In part, it claimed that “there have been a disturbing number of reports of possible gross violations of human rights by security forces in Israel and Egypt”

Focusing on Israel, Senator Leahy wrote: “Amnesty International and other human rights organizations have reported what may be extrajudicial killings by the Israeli military and police of Fadi Alloun, Saad Al-Atrash, Hadeel Hashlamoun, and Mutaz Ewisa. There are also reports of the use of torture in the cases of Wasim Marouf and Ahmed Manasra.”

All of the supposed victims named in the letter either carried out, or attempted to carry out, stabbing attacks against Israelis.

Manasra is a particularly notable case of false propaganda. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas first claimed that Israel “executed him in cold blood” after Manasra critically wounded two Israelis. He was quickly proven to be a liar, though, when Hadassah Medical Center showed that he was not only alive but receiving medical treatment in the same hospital that treats terror victims.[…]

Senator: Investigate Israel’s ‘Gross Violations of Rights’

Senator and 10 House members ask Kerry to investigate Israel and Egypt, and potentially suspend US military aid.

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), together with ten House members, has asked the US State Department to investigate claims that Israel has committed “gross violations of human rights,” and depending on the results to cut military aid to the Jewish state.

The letter addressed to Secretary of State John Kerry was dated February 17, and was published by Politico on Tuesday night after the news site received it from “an organization that provided input for it.”

Leahy’s letter targets both Israel and Egypt, and is significant because the senator authored a law conditioning US military aid to foreign countries based on whether their forces commit abuses.

The letter lists claims that Israel’s army has conducted “extrajudicial killings,” an accusation frequently aired by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to delegitimize the self-defense of citizens and soldiers who have shot attacking Arab terrorists during the recent terror wave raging since last September.[…]

An added edge seen in the letter is the fact that despite being sent to Kerry over a month ago, it was released only now, days after an IDF soldier last Thursday was filmed shooting a wounded Arab terrorist in Hevron, again sparking claims of “extrajudicial executions.”

The soldier has argued he shot the terrorist — who minutes earlier with an accomplice stabbed a soldier — over concerns he was moving to detonate a bomb belt that was thought to be hidden under his unseasonable coat. […]

The Gaza Time Bomb

Gaza’s civilian population is hostage to Hamas’s dramatically failed economic policies, and its insistence on confrontation with Israel, rather than recognition of Israel and investment in Gaza’s economic future.

Ultimately, the civilian-economic pressure cooker in Gaza looks likely to explode, leading Hamas to seek new hostilities with Israel, for which it is preparing in earnest.

Right now, Hamas remains deterred by Israel’s firepower, and is enforcing its part of the truce. Hamas security forces patrol the Strip’s borders to prevent Gazans from rioting, to stop them from trying to escape Gaza into Israel, and to stop ISIS-affiliated radicals who fire rockets at Israel.

Hamas is using the current quiet to replenish its rocket arsenal, dig its combat tunnel network, and build up sea-based attack capabilities. It is investing many resources in cooking up new ways to surprise Israel in any future clash. These efforts have not gone unnoticed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Genocide: Christian Population in Iraq Drops by 80% in Just Over a Decade

The Christian population in Iraq has been decimated in a little over a decade, dropping from 1.4 million in 2003 to just 275,000 today, according to a report released this month.

The recent joint report, compiled by the Knights of Columbus and In Defense of Christians (IDC), tells a horrific story of a religious and ethnic purge in the Middle East that has produced the systematic eradication of Christians from the territory.

Christianity’s roots in Iraq date back as far as the first century and yet now has fallen prey to Islamist militant groups committed to the extermination of Christians.

The Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil, Bashar Warda, has testified that for many long centuries the Christians of Iraq have experienced hardships and persecutions “but what we have now experienced are the worst acts of genocide in our homeland. We are facing the extinction of Christianity as a religion in Iraq.”

Mark Zuckerberg Says ‘Love’ Will Defeat Islamic State

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has spoken out against the “fear and distrust” caused by recent Islamist terror attacks and has called for more “love” as a means of stopping them.

The billionaire Facebook owner argued that recent attacks in Belgium, Turkey, and Pakistan are specifically designed to “sow seeds of hatred” between countries and their Islamic communities.

“Each of these attacks were carried out with a goal to spread fear and distrust, and turn members of a community against each other,” Zuckerberg said.

The “only sustainable way to fight back” against these sickening atrocities is to “create a world” where everyone “feels cared for and loved”, he added.

Hundreds of migrants and refugees have arrived on Greek islands after days of low numbers, despite a European Union-Turkey agreement under which new arrivals will be sent back to Turkey.

Revealed: How You Pay for Roma Gypsy Palaces — UK Benefits Are Funding Romanian Mansions

Critics now claim Europe’s “open borders” are to blame as migrants continue to tap Britain’s welfare state.

The fresh call to control who can enter the UK came after it was said taxpayers have unwittingly helped to build more than 300 mansions in one small Romanian town alone.

Tandarei has become the Roma town Britain built, with many extravagant homes believed to have been bankrolled thanks to handouts claimed here.

Five years ago there were fewer than 100 mansions in Tandarei.

Now that number has trebled, with some valued at £500,000 and many having British-registered cars parked outside.

Thousands of migrants now see Britain’s soft-touch benefits system as a way of extracting “free money”.

Last night Ukip leader Nigel Farage said: “By leaving the EU we can ensure only those who have paid into the system can take out.

Jesuit University Moves to Fire Conservative Professor Over His Political Views

Marquette University has moved to suspend and then fire Professor John McAdams for backing a student who tried to defend man-woman marriage when a leftist teaching assistant shut the student down.

In the fall of 2014, junior faculty member Cheryl Abbate told a student, who secretly recorded the exchange, that his defense of man-woman marriage was an unacceptable topic in her ethics class and compared his views to racism. She said, “You can have whatever opinions you want but I can tell you right now, in this class homophobic comments, racist comments, and sexist comments will not be tolerated.” And then she told the student he should drop the class.

On this very popular blog, Professor McAdams outed the incident and charged the teaching assistant with “using a tactic typical among liberals now. Opinions with which they disagree are not merely wrong, and are not to be argued against on their merits, but are deemed ‘offensive’ and need to be shut up.”

A firestorm ensued that pitted the academic freedom of McAdams against the leftist pieties of the officially “Catholic” institution.

Women Only Carriages: Segregation Will Not Lead to Integration

In response to the attacks on women in Germany a train company has decided to declare some carriages ‘women only’.

I take issue with this on a number of levels. I’m sure the left wing feministas will struggle with the concept of segregation but they’ll also be reticent in their response, if they respond at all. It takes those on the centre right to take up women’s rights and preserve our hard won freedoms.

Firstly, as a woman I really object to being segregated in any circumstance, least of all on a train.

As a wife, a mother of two boys and a female politician, I’m dismayed that the wrong message is being sent to the males in my life. Just because a small minority of men from a very different culture and religion are abusing Western hospitality, culture and norms, my men feel very strongly that their way of life and liberty is being threatened.

  1. I wonder how long it will be until those men who were arrested and then let go commit their first terrorist atrocity on U.S soil?

  2. “The “only sustainable way to fight back” against these sickening atrocities is to “create a world” where everyone “feels cared for and loved” ”

Says Zuckerberg… as I understand, Sweden’s been trying to create such a world for a while now. As were the Socialist-dominated Muslim suburbs of Brussels, and pretty much everywhere else in Europe… to the extent of punishing anti-Islam statements. How’s that been working out for those places?

However, do such utterances coming from someone in control of what millions around the world are able to post and share with their friends not sound just a little bit more creepy?

    • Notice how he uses the useless progressive buzzword “sustainable” to invoke moral superiority to cover his morally inferior actions.

What’s not sustainable is suppression of discussion regarding whatever is bothering people.

  3. Baron,
There was no mention of “automatic weapons” in the story. At least one of them (most likely) would have been off to the pokey if that was the case. They probably had semi-automatic versions of automatic weapons. I wish one of the Marines in the story had posted his account. The story does offer good evidence that many people on both sides of the fence are arming themselves. Got some? Better get some.

    • You’re right, I was sloppy in my wording. I dash these news feed intros off in a hurry — I should take more time with them.

      • HA!

Ya think that maybe–just maybe–those (Reeeeedacted) 1/2 just might have taken some weaponry with them? Maybe those weapons that had a rock ‘en roll switch? That is hard to tell from a distance, but very easy up close.
How to check for absconded weapons that the Po-lice did not get to examine/play with??
All that would need to be done would be to find the expended brass on the ground, then see if some did not match the guns that the Po-lice DID see. Of course, somebody would have to CARE about the concept of a “sleeper cell” getting in some range practice before…………………….
        NOT in Obama’s world .

    • Automatic weapons or semiautomatic weapons

A semi-automatic rifle is a self-loading rifle that fires a single round each time the trigger is pulled. (wiki)

The ideas to be emphasized are :
      1. Two groups each 15. Does it maker a difference if they were 14?
      2. They had weapons
      3. They were intimidating, as usual for the last 1435 years.
      4. They were preparing and training. Gee preparing for what and training for what? Do we know? Trump knows that’s why some zombies don’t like him.

You have to have a vision of what our enemies are doing today. And we have to predict how things will be in 10 years from now if we choose stupidity deliberately as we are doing now, and criminalizing any alert person, who, or blog, which, opens our sleepy eyes.

Our enemy is clever, determined, enthusiastic, knows his goals, and knows how to plan today and what to get in 10 years.

All this is only possible because of those who have no honor: Traitors and Libertarians.

      • Organizing. Training. Cells. Platoons. Etcetra. Muslims. War and rumours of war. All in the midst of a promitives war against the Unbeliever. What could all this possibly mean?

  4. The High Desert area of Southern California is a hot bed of all sorts of fringe groups. Thankfully the Marine Corp base of Fort Irwin is close by. BTW, the base is where the soldiers who were sent to Iraq were trained. We have bigger problems up there with all the meth trade around Adelanto. As for weaponry, we carry if we have to but avoid the areas or only go there during daylight if we must. As for the Berdoo County Sheriffs, you don’t want to mess with them, just mind your own business and know that they are keeping watch. Now if we could only get Washington to leave them alone and allow them to do their job things would be fine and the peace would be kept.

  5. “Unfounded”
    Shots firedunfounded
    Shouts of allahu akber “Unfounded”
    One group fled “Unfounded”

    Democracy is crap “Unfounded”

why bother call the khaliphate police.

  6. Too many of the aggregated links, in GoV and other sites, open to a re-enforcement of easy condemnations of the West, and most dramatically, the UK. Reading a linked article requires focus away from a continuous bombardment of sleaze by the sidebars and banner ads.

I suppose that if I were to go to any Peoples’ Republic site, I’d be assaulted by Dear Leader sidebars. We’re doomed.
