Based on a poll by Dutch public television, Geert Wilders, the leader of the Party for Freedom (Partij voor de Vrijheid, PVV) has been designated Politician of the Year for the third time since 2010.

Below is the announcement sent out today by the PVV:

Dutch Public Chooses Geert Wilders as Politician of the Year 2015

Geert Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV) has been elected Politician of the Year 2015 by the Dutch public. The award was announced tonight by the television program EenVandaag, a news program on Dutch public television.

Geert Wilders dominated the political debates in the past year, such as those about the terror attacks in Paris, the immigration crisis and the debate about the government plans for next year. Earlier this year, he also won an award as the best debater.

Since 2004, the Dutch Politician of the Year has been nominated yearly by EenVandaag, following a poll of some 35,000 people who appoint the best politician of the past year. It is the third time that Geert Wilders has won the award. Earlier, he was Politician of the Year in 2010 and 2013. This is a record. Never before has anyone won the award three times.

Geert Wilders: “It is great to be chosen by the public as Politician of the Year. It is a huge honor. And an encouragement to fight even harder for the interests of the Netherlands and the Dutch people in 2016.”

  1. Well done the Dutch Public! now get him and his party into power at the earliest opportunity!

  2. He won my admiration long ago – great job Geert. I will hire you via H1B visa at good pay if you promise to run for high political office in California?

  3. Geert is incredible. Principled and courageous. This wouldn’t happen here in America the way the media only publicize those they agree with and who advance the “progressive” agenda. The only reason Trump is getting so much coverage is because the media think they can turn the voters away from Trump by showing his “antics” and “inflammatory” rhetoric.

I wonder if they are even aware of how well his voice agrees with the thoughts of so many of us here in America, one the right _and_ the left.

  4. Nothing I can say exceeds what others have already said. I only wish to add my support to theirs.

  5. And yet he has still to achieve power. How honest are the elections in the Netherlands – and the rest of Europe?

  6. just super! perfeckt pvv nr 1 reeds 10 jaar heel heel erg gefeliciteerd en het is je gegund.

[Machine translation: just super! No one perfect pvv already 10 years really, really congratulations and it is your award.]

  7. Politician of the year!? This must be one of the few elections not rigged by the establishment.

  8. Big whoop, Wilders wins Dutch politician of the Year while the apparatchiks for *TWMNBM continue to impost Islam into Denmark up to and including allowing ex Isis fighters to return to Aarhus. This is why watching politicians like Trump or Hilary is pointless, because what difference does it make who gets elected when *TWMNBM continue with their plans behind the scenes?
