American Muslims Want Shariah

American Muslims, like their co-religionists in Europe, seem to prefer shariah over the law of the land. And a surprising number of them would support the use of violence to impose shariah. These facts run contrary to the “narrative” propagated by the media and our political leaders — according to them, such “radical” views are only held by a Tiny Minority of Extremists.

Last night the Center for Security Policy released the results of a new poll showing the preferences of American Muslims:

Poll of U.S. Muslims Reveals Ominous Levels of Support for Islamic Supremacists’ Doctrine of Shariah, Jihad

Washington, DC: According to a new nationwide online survey of 600 Muslims living in the United States, significant minorities embrace supremacist notions that could pose a threat to America’s security and its constitutional form of government.

The numbers of potential jihadists among the majority of Muslims who appear not to be sympathetic to such notions raise a number of public policy choices that warrant careful consideration and urgent debate, including: the necessity for enhanced surveillance of Muslim communities; refugee resettlement, asylum and other immigration programs that are swelling their numbers and density; and the viability of so-called “countering violent extremism” initiatives that are supposed to stymie radicalization within those communities.

Overall, the survey, which was conducted by The Polling Company for the Center for Security Policy (CSP), suggests that a substantial number of Muslims living in the United States see the country very differently than does the population overall. The sentiments of the latter were sampled in late May in another CSP-commissioned Polling Company nationwide survey.

According to the just-released survey of Muslims, a majority (51%) agreed that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.” When that question was put to the broader U.S. population, the overwhelming majority held that shariah should not displace the U.S. Constitution (86% to 2%).

More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled also believe either that they should have the choice of American or shariah courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply shariah. Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts.

These notions were powerfully rejected by the broader population according to the Center’s earlier national survey. It found by a margin of 92%-2% that Muslims should be subject to the same courts as other citizens, rather than have their own courts and tribunals here in the U.S.

Even more troubling, is the fact that nearly a quarter of the Muslims polled believed that, “It is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam by, for example, portraying the prophet Mohammed.”

By contrast, the broader survey found that a 63% majority of those sampled said that “the freedom to engage in expression that offends Muslims or anybody else is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and cannot be restricted.”

Nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the United States is justified in order to make shariah the law of the land in this country.

Center for Security Policy President, Frank J. Gaffney, Jr., observed:

The findings of the Center for Security Policy’s survey of Muslims in America suggests that we have a serious problem. The Pew Research Center estimates that the number of Muslims in the United States was 2.75 million in 2011, and growing at a rate of 80-90 thousand a year. If those estimates are accurate, the United States would have approximately 3 million Muslims today. That would translate into roughly 300,000 Muslims living in the United States who believe that shariah is “The Muslim God Allah’s law that Muslims must follow and impose worldwide by Jihad.”

It is incumbent on the many American Muslims who want neither to live under the brutal repression of shariah nor to impose it on anybody else to work with the rest of us who revere and uphold the supremacy of the U.S. Constitution in protecting our nation against the Islamic supremacists and their jihad.

  1. The many American Muslims who want neither to live under Sharia nor to impose it on anybody have limited scope to express those desires. “Islam is Sharia and Sharia is Islam”, explains Fouad Belkacem of Sharia4Belgium. Declining to employ Sharia makes a muslim an apostate, and thus open to being killed, vigilante fashion and penalty-free under Sharia, by any of his co-religionists (Manual of Islamic Law, “Reliance of the Traveller” o8.7(7), o8.4). We can expect them to remain rather quiet.

The only agenda of Islam is to Inflict Sharia Law on All Mankind (I.S.L.A.M.) “by persuasion or by force” (Ibn Khaldun). Islam has no concern with personal fulfilment, the pursuit of happiness, or goodwill to mankind.

  2. There is a catch with our use of the word “believe” when treating of muslims, as in:

“300,000 Muslims … who believe that shariah is “The Muslim God Allah’s law that Muslims must follow and impose worldwide by Jihad.””

Islam INSTRUCTS muslims what to support and accept. With Sharia there is no leeway: there is no freedom to weigh it up, consider it, and then decide whether to believe it. It is dictated. No freedom of conscience exists in Islam. The Koran, part of Islamic law, expressly states, at 33:36,

“It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision.”

If a muslim states openly that there are parts of Islamic teachings which he does not believe, that makes him an apostate, with the results shown above, witness the hackings to death of critic bloggers in Bangladesh. He is better off not stating anything, even if, privately, he has reservations.

With an ideology that DICTATES what each member must believe it is really safer simply to say that Islam “instructs” such and such. BELIEF does not need to be involved.

  3. We need to install leadership that will close the borders to migrants that are solely looking for a handout, end benefits to those already here, develop a broad-based program of integration to Western culture, disperse the migrant ghettoes that have been allowed to fester in our lands, and encourage the honest development of the Third World via strong involvement in infrastructure projects and education with regard to family planning.

For the RoP, we need to pass legislation banning sharia, restrict foreign funding of mosques, and end the tax-exempt status of the RoP because it is a direct challenge to the law of the land.

    • Im not happy with mosques, no matter their funding. They are equivalent to schools teaching murder. Would we allow such instruction? How could we eliminate these under the Constitution? Maybe we’re stuck until a mosque is shown to provoke a crime? A problem.

      • Since so many of them are funded by NAIT with Saudi money, it should be possible to block foreign funding as a matter of economic policy. There’s no constitutional guarantee on what foreign countries can fund, or whether they can even trade or exchange currency at all.

  4. Edit

Muslims in America. Not “American muslims”.

Being a muslim is contradictory to being an American, or a European, anything Western. America has culture, as has Europe. Part of American identity is being free, having certain freedoms. One of them is the freedom of speech. Another, is to choose in what to believe.

As long as anyone adhers to sharia, they cannot be American at the same time.

  5. Go to sleep. Your government is taking care of it LOL Any one who trust Obama should get a mental check up!

  6. What surprises me most here is that at least 37% of the general population in the U.S. doesnt understand the 1st amendment. That’s an extremely huge number and it is the result of public schools failing to teach civics lessons.

  7. One interesting thing I found in the full report is this: 60% of Muslims polled believe that sharia law is compatible with the U.S. constitution. This is divided as 30% strongly agree and 31% somewhat agree. 21% disagreed and 19% weren’t sure or didn’t know.

This seems to suggest that 79% of the Muslim population in the U.S. is ignorant of what sharia law says, what the constitution says, or both.

43% think that ISIS is “un Islamic” and 29% think that it is Islamic but an “incorrect interpretation”. Yet even with numbers like this, it seems to be impossible to get answers as to WHY exactly they think it’s un-Islamic or based on a bad interpretation.

Only 36% think that the Muslim Brotherhood is in the U.S.

Among Muslims in the U.S. it seems that there is a large degree of ignorance about Islam and what is going on with it. Unfortunately this means that they’re very likely to support islamc fascism without realizing it.

This is the standard pattern. You have a large group which doesn’t really seem to want theocratic fascism yet they totally fail to realize when they’re supporting it. And it seems like this group is unreachable.

    • “a large degree of ignorance” – yes.
I.Q. al Rassooli, Iraqi ex-muslim who has devoted over thirty years to studying the texts of Islam, says “90% of muslims have absolutely no idea about the Qur’an”. That is hardly surprising: the text is only memorised and recited, in a language which most do not speak. Translations are frowned upon as “less pure”, and questions are discouraged (sometimes with the help of a stick): it is the recital that is praised.

    • They are unreachable and should not in any form be considered Americans or Western in outlook, they are colonists from a foreign culture and a implacable enemy of the West.

  8. Is there a Muslim stereotype. The reality is far worse and getting nastier. I hope Dave in the UK and Obama of Arabia is just feeding them bs while preparation and planning to counter ISIS from within is still under way. The art of dreaming on.

  9. Stop “sleepwalking”
    and get prepared

Lord Richards says it’s time to prepare for battle. “Like we did for Second World War, says former head of Armed Forces”.

  10. When reading this article keep in mind the following:

Let me point out a study published by Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the July 22, 2011 online edition of the journal Physical Review E article titled “Social consensus through the influence of committed minorities” (http://news.rpi.edu/luwakkey/2902?destination=node/38887). This study found “that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society.”

My own belief is that when this study is applied to Islam the percentage necessary is reduced dramatically – maybe as low as 2-3%. Because Islam has an unseen army of devout believers willing to kill – if you don’t “believe”.

In reality Islam is controlled by this small percentage (2-3%) of the population. Think of it. The entire population is controlled by a tiny unseen, religiously driven group of thugs.

    • And yet apostates ARE created and sites such as GoV are built partially upon their writings. Don’t be too pessimistic. Islam has been fought many times before and we do pretty well. It has lethal weaknesses: half of their genders are not used; everyone is depressed and ashamed; their education is mystic and lacks the tool of reasoning and science; there is no mirth or love or music. And, Finally, we are catching on. I think. I hope.

  11. I can only ask, what will be the fate of those who defend themselves against an attack by a Muslim who sees it as his duty to slaughter the infidel? Prosecution for a hate crime?

  12. During the Cold War, anyone who said that violence is justified in the name of spreading Communism would be immediately arrested and held as enemy agents.

Today when Muslims say pretty much the same thing about their Arab supremacist ideology, they are tolerated under freedom of religion statutes.

There is no difference between the two in principle.

Both are advocating subversion of the government and should be treated equally as traitors to western values and the common good.

It’s as if 40 years of “hippie values” in society have inured us to the danger posed by those who wish to overthrow our civilization. It’s as if we now value tolerance over freedom and common sense.

If we do not ban Islam now, we will face dire consequences later on. If we haven’t already seen some of them already.

Anyone remember where they were on 9/11? I certainly do.
