Rockets From Gaza Mark the End of Passover

Rockets fired from Gaza landed in Sderot again early this morning. While we were still asleep, our Israeli correspondent MC sent this brief email after the first one struck:

It’s 7:55.

We’ve just has one land closer than usual about five minutes ago. It would normally be school time but it is the last day of the feast of Unleavened Bread.

I had just been reading the mail and the new posts, I will pick up the news as it becomes apparent. This one hit the city…

And a little while later:

We had another missile over, and now heavy machine gun fire, sounds like a .50 cal (09:50), I think the last day of Unleavened Bread is going to be not as restful as Yah intended.

Below are excerpts from a YNet News report:

Four rockets hit Sderot, Sha’ar HaNegev

Silence of holiday morning disrupted by rockets fired from Gaza; one rocket lands in road near market store. None were injured but minor damage caused.
Three rockets fired from the Gaza Strip exploded in open fields in Sderot and in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council early Monday morning. No one was hurt and no damage was caused.

A fourth rocket fell on a road near a market store, causing minor damage but no injuries.

Residents in the area reported on sounds of explosion and the Code Red siren was heard…

A later revision of the same article adds this:

The Israel Air Force struck three terror targets in the Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon, in response to rocket fire at southern Israel earlier Monday.

The IDF Spokesman’s Office said in a statement that “IAF aircraft attacked two terror targets in the south of the Gaza Strip and an additional target in the center of the Strip. Direct hits were confirmed, and all aircrafts returned safely to their bases.”

  1. The free and unbiased western media will not see and hear about any aggression from Gaza until Israel is forced to retaliate. Anyone who tells the truth will be rendered head- less. Is any reporter stupid enough to do that and deprive himself from visiting Muslim countries. He can fabricate any lie against Israel and the next week he can visit Israel without feeling threatened. Woe to a reporter who tells the truth about Muslims. Perdition will be waiting for him if he visits one of Mohammedan countries. Once Israel is forced to retaliates then western reporters will find their brain, conscience and tongue and write an “unbiased report”. They know what to write, and how to write.

  2. None of the Muslim countries want the Palestinians. The Palestinians brought destruction and murder to those countries, Lebanon and Jordan for example, that attempted to give them refuge.

I foresee in the near future that the Palestinians of the West Bank, rabid as they are, will consider the Gaza population as too violent and too fanatic to be considered as decent citizens.

Israel, after the tragedy of evacuating Gaza, where the settlers at least kept a lid on the population, is pursuing the only rational strategy left: keep the wolves bottled up and their claws trimmed. The entire population of Gaza will continue to exist as vicious subhumans, which is a tragedy.

  3. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Israel give Gaza up in the name of peace? Where there were acres of hothouses growing vegetables, those acres are now rocket launching sites.
