Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/14/2013

According to the Egyptian Health Ministry, at least 275 people were killed, including 40 police, and hundreds more were wounded when police broke up two encampments of Muslim Brotherhood supporters in downtown Cairo. Bulldozers, armored vehicles, and tear gas were used to dismantle the camps and subdue the protesters. The death toll is expected to rise as charred bodies are pulled from the burned-out wreckage.

In other news, two young “New Zealanders” were sentenced to 15 and 16 years in prison for abducting a woman in Auckland and subjecting her to a gang rape. The culprits, who were born in Somalia, have a Mohammed Coefficient of 50%.

This is the Biggest Cluster of Hindenburg Omens Since the Last Stock Market Crash

Are we heading for a major stock market decline? Warnings about a crash of the financial markets are quite common these days, and usually they don’t materialize. But this time may be different. A number of top analysts are pointing out the fact that the biggest cluster of “Hindenburg Omens” has appeared since the last stock market crash. And those that have studied this insist that the more “Hindenburg Omens” there are in a cluster, the stronger the signal is. Meanwhile, another very disturbing sign is the fact that the yield on 10 year U.S. Treasuries is starting to soar again. On Tuesday it shot up from 2.62% to 2.727%. As I have written about previously, the yield on 10 year U.S. Treasuries is the most important number in the U.S. economy right now. If that number continues to rise, it is going to be very, very bad news for the financial system.

But before I discuss rising interest rates any further, I want to talk about this unusual cluster of Hindenburg Omens that we have just witnessed. In a previous article, I shared a list of the criteria that are commonly used to determine whether a Hindenburg Omen has appeared or not…

It’s Not Your Father’s Republican Party Anymore

So far the party has lost two presidential elections by offering two very squishy candidates, McCain and Romney, who did not ignite strong support among Republicans. Republicans are depressed, but they are also angry and the angriest among them are its Tea Party faction.

“By 54% to 40% Republican and Republican-leaning voters want the party’s leaders to move further to the right,” said the findings of the Pew Center survey. Tea Party Republicans “overwhelmingly favor moving in a more conservative direction, while moderates and liberals would like to see the party take more centrist positions.”

The moderates are a minority within the party and will make up an even smaller share of the likely primary electorate. Republicans who are paying any attention to the 2014 midterm elections want candidates who will take on the Obama administration and Democratic candidates in a vigorous way.

Mortality Rate Doubles for Females Eating Refined White Sugar — Lab Mice Study Rocks Soda Industry

(NaturalNews) In what is arguably the most shocking food study conducted since the Seralini “GMO rats” study released last year, researchers at the University of Utah have found that even a small amount of refined sugar consumption resulted in a doubling of the death rate of female mice.

Fed merely the equivalent of three cans of soda a day, females experienced a 100% increase in death rates, and males experienced a sharp drop in fertility. Males were also found to have impaired ability to hold territory, according to the study authors.

NAACP Attacks Rodeo Stunt and Political Satire

Satirizing presidents has a long tradition in America. From cartoons and caricatures early on to Chevy Chase and Dana Carvey more recently poking fun at Gerald Ford and George W. Bush, presidents, presidential candidates and the establishment political class at large has constituted fair game for newspaper editorialists, commentators, and comedians — until now.

On Tuesday, the NAACP issued a statement condemning a rodeo stunt during the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association finals. The stunt included a man wearing an Obama mask. A clown elicited cheers from the audience when he asked if they wanted to see “Obama run down by a bull” and playfully suggested the bull was coming to get Obama.

After the stunt was widely covered by the media, the clown who made the comment about Obama lost his job — in fact, he was banned from rodeo performance for life — and the president of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, Mark Ficken, resigned as officialdom in Missouri opportunistically piled on, denouncing the skit as if it amounted to a criminal act. Outraged Democrats demanded the state fair be fined.

According to the NAACP, it was a criminal act.

St. Joseph: One Hostage Dead, One Seriously Wounded

The negotiations with Fuaed Ahmed, the hostage-taker who holed up with three employees of the Tensas State Bank in St. Joseph yesterday, didn’t ultimately go well. Late last night law enforcement forcibly entered the bank using flash-bang grenades, and Ahmed shot both hostages (he had previously released one of them in exchange for food).

State troopers then shot and killed Ahmed.

Where Were Barack and Hillary the Night Our Ambassador Was Killed?

“One of the two Navy Seals in the room straightened up in his seat and responded with “I know damn well where they were!” Everyone could tell that his outburst was laced with both rage and disgust. I and the other men in the room sat upright in our chairs with this revelation and his elevated voice. We listened intently to see if there was going to be an explanation for how he knew where Barack and Hillary were on the night Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith and Navy Seals Glen A. Doherty and Tyron S. Woods were killed. The Seal, sporting at least one bronze star on his tunic and whole bunch of other medals I did not recognize, started to unwind. His brow furled, his eyes glared and his mouth tightened as he began to speak.”

“He exclaimed, ‘This whole damn thing is a cover up from start to finish. Clinton and Hillary both hurried to the situation room in the White House when the alarm came in across the secured wires that the attack was underway. They both sat and watched the whole thing as it was unfolding in real time. The obvious call from the top brass in the room was to immediately send in military help but Obama told them to stand down. OBAMA TOLD THEM TO STAND DOWN!’“

“The Seal sat back for a minute, as if to collect his thoughts. His next statement was a little more calm and measured, as if he was trying to regain his composure. He said he was in Benghazi that night and also had a friend and high-ranking military officer in the White House. He said this officer was the source of what he knew.

The above story was told to us by a trusted source but it is, nevertheless, hearsay. We have no way to determine if the Seal’s story is true other than being just more rhetoric by someone with passion about the subject, who thinks he knows the truth. The question still remains, where were Barack and Hillary on the night of the Benghazi attack?

Are You Thin Enough or Fashionable Enough for a Boutique?

I don’t know exactly what happened to Oprah Winfrey in the Swiss high-end boutique that allegedly refused to let her look at a $38,100 purse because it was expensive and she could not afford it. The saga turned into an accusation of racism from Oprah’s perspective, and a “she said, we said” from the shop owner’s side.

I do know, based on my frequent travels, that most Europeans do not engage in acts of racism; they are elitist socialists embracing multiculturalism to the point of self-destruction.

EU has opened its borders to people from 27 different countries and to a massive exodus from North Africa and the Middle East. They have opened the floodgates of socialist welfare and nationalized medicine to anybody who set foot in Europe, no questions asked, allowing them to set up ghettoes of the countries they’ve fled.

In Politics and on the Streets, French Far Right Surges

Feeding on anti-immigrant sentiment and economic dissatisfaction, the French far right has been enjoying a new visibility.

Such efforts might impact only a tiny swath of the French population, but they come at a key moment, as intolerance reaches new modern highs, driven by an ascendant far-right movement. Just this Sunday, the government said that a young French soldier was arrested near Lyon for planning to attack a local mosque. He held views “close to those of the radical extreme right,” having already attacked a mosque in Bordeaux last year, France’s interior ministry said.

UK: Miliband’s Growing Reliance on Unions Exposed: Labour’s Paymasters Provide 77% of Party’s Funding — and Unite Donated £800,000 in Just Three Months

Ed Miliband’s growing dependence on Labour’s union paymasters was laid bare yesterday as it was revealed that the barons are providing 77 per cent of the party’s funding.

Figures released by the Electoral Commission watchdog revealed that the Unite union, led by far-Left firebrand Len McCluskey, was again Labour’s biggest donor, contributing £772,195 between April and June.

In total, the unions gave Labour more than £2.4million in the second quarter, out of a total of just over £3million, which included lump sums of £485,830 from the GMB and £458,080 from Unison.

Labour’s reliance on union cash is particularly stark since the figures also show that Labour is in a staggering amount of debt, with outstanding loans of £12.8million, compared with £2.6million for the Tories. The party was forced to increase its overdraft facilities by £2.4million earlier this year with the troubled Co-operative Bank.

UK: Outrage as Thug Who Was Jailed for Holding Mother and Daughter at Knifepoint Posts Pictures From His Gadget-Filled Cell

[WARNING: Disturbing Content.]

A thug jailed for holding a mother and daughter at knifepoint has been posting photos of his ‘easy’ life behind bars on Facebook.

The pictures show violent Sonny Barker, 20, who was jailed for eight years for aggravated burglary, posing shirtless in his cell at HMP Rochester in Kent — with a Playstation 2 console and television visible in the background.

Barker — who posted pictures taken on a BlackBerry camera despite the fact inmates are not allowed mobile phones — bragged in one online post that he ‘had it on smash’ — prison slang for an easy life.

Egypt’s Health Ministry Says 275 Killed in Turmoil

Egyptian security forces killed more than 200 protesters and wounded hundreds of others on Wednesday in a daylong assault on two sit-ins by Islamist supporters of the ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, that set off waves of violence in the capital, Cairo, and across the country.

By afternoon, the interim government appointed by Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi had declared a one-month state of emergency across the country, suspending the right to a trial or due process. The declaration returned Egypt to the state of virtual martial law that prevailed for three decades under President Hosni Mubarak before he was forced to step down in 2011.

Mohamed ElBaradei, the interim vice president and a Nobel Prize-winning former diplomat who had lent his reputation to convincing the West of the military-appointed government’s democratic intentions, resigned in protest, a spokeswoman said.

By evening, the Egyptian Health Ministry said 235 civilians and nearly 40 police officers had been killed in violence across the country, and said about 900 had been injured. But the large number of dead and critically injured Egyptians whom reporters for The New York Times saw moving through various makeshift field hospitals in Cairo indicated that the final death toll would climb much higher.

Israel Envoy: Palestinian Prisoners Are Like Breivik (1)

Comments by Israel’s ambassador to Sweden comparing recently-released Palestinian prisoners to Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik has left relatives of victims of the Utøya massacre seething.

Middle East expert Per Jönsson with the Swedish Institute for International Affairs (Utrikespolitiska institutets — UI) also slammed Bachman’s Breivik comparison. “The comparison with Brevik is insane in several ways. Breivik is very special. These people that Israel is now releasing are freedom fighters, murderers, and in some cases terrorists, but they are nevertheless rather normal people,” he told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

Israel Envoy: Palestinian Prisoners Are Like Breivik (2)

Israel’s ambassador to Sweden has been attacked by victims of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik for comparing the release of Palestinian prisoners to setting the far-right terrorist free.

In an interview with Sveriges Radio (SR) on Tuesday, ambassador Isaac Bachman said the acts committed by some Palestinian prisoners could be compared to the twin attacks Breivik enacted in 2011.

“The horrors that (the Palestinian prisoners) did, to put it in a Scandinavian understanding, it’s like what happened in Norway with Breivik,” he told SR.

“Imagine if Breivik was released as a gesture of some sort,” he added, explaining that Israel was not getting enough credit for agreeing to the release. “Research has shown that these people will return to crime. It’s not easy to get public support for releasing these people.”

Bjørn Ihler, who survived the killer’s attack on the island of Utøya, said that it was senseless to compare the political demands of Palestinian people with Breivik’s deluded belief that Europe was at war with Islam.

“The comparison does not make sense,” he told The Local. “Breivik was a solo terrorist whose actions were based purely on an unreal situation. The situation in the Middle East is very different. There is a real fight for Palestinian freedom going on.”

Trond Blattmann, whose son Torjusdatter was killed when Breivik opened fire on Utøya, said that the comparison was wildly inaccurate.

“I think it is ridiculous to compare this with a mass murderer from Norway,” he told The Local. “There’s no similarity at all. This is a ridiculous way to talk.”

Israel released the first 26 Palestinian prisoners on Wednesday morning, the first day of peace talks brokered by US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Dane Possibly Involved in Failed Suicide Bombing in Lebanon

Foreign Ministry reluctant to comment on incident in northern Lebanon

A Danish man with a Palestinian background may have been one of three men who attempted a suicide bombing at a checkpoint in Lebanon last week. Lebanese media reported that the three men — one Syrian, one Palestinian and a Danish citizen of Palestinian origin — rolled up to a checkpoint in the town of Arsal in the Bekka region last Friday night in a Mitsubishi with no licence plates or other visible identification. When security police stopped the vehicle, the Palestinian man jumped out of the car wearing a belt loaded with explosives. Police shot and killed the man before he could detonate the bombs.

The vehicle was searched and another belt containing explosives was found along with a Kalashnikov rifle. The Syrian and suspected Dane were taken into custody.

The Foreign Ministry and the Danish ambassador to Lebanon declined to confirm whether a Dane had been part of the incident.

“I have seen a report about a shootout in northern Lebanon where a Danish citizen was allegedly involved,” Rolf Holmboe, the Danish ambassador to Lebanon, told Berlingske newspaper. “We are investigating but have no comment.”

The media arm of Hezbollah, al-Manar, reported that the Lebanese military said that one of the men arrested was of “Palestinian origin with a European passport”.

Hugh Fitzgerald: Conspiracy Theories and Craziness in Societies Suffused With Islam

Here, thanks to MEMRITV, is an Egyptian law professor denouncing the American conspiracy, as he sees it, to weaken Egypt by promoting civil strife.

It’s not only the Salafists, the Ikhwan, the Wahhabis, but those whom the Western world fondly (in the Elizabethan sense) thinks of as the secularists or, even more absurdly, the liberals, whose minds have been formed in a hot-house world, the world of Islam, which means conspiracy theories, inability to see things clearly, general craziness behind a misleading facade of reason and modernity (that suit, that tie, that smooth-shaven face, that occupation as a Law Professor, in the example below).

See this Egyptian law professor with his deeply-Islamic capacity to see conspiracies, by the Infidel Americans, where there are none, and his description of Robert Ford, the newly-appointed ambassador to Egypt, as a spreader of internal strife in Iraq, in Syria, in Egypt, as part of “fourth-generation” conflict, designed of course to weaken the Arab countries.

You can support the side that wants to limit the power of the Ikhwan, in Egypt and elsewhere. but don’t let yourself be fooled into thinking these are, on the whole, Western men, capable of grasping their own reality, of existing on the same mental planet. They don’t and they aren’t.

How the Russians Practice Disinformation

The approaching 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy is sufficient reason alone to buy and read the new book, Disinformation: Former Spy Chief Reveals Secret Strategies for Undermining Freedom, Attacking Religion, and Promoting Terrorism. The co-author, Ion Mihail Pacepa, the highest-ranking defector from the former Soviet bloc, is an expert on the Kennedy assassination and documents how the Soviet Union and its comrades worked overtime to blame the CIA, right-wingers, oil men and others for the murder of the American president. Many people still believe these false allegations to this day.

In fact, the assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was a Marxist with Soviet and Cuban intelligence connections and sympathies. The evidence is simply overwhelming that the Communists killed Kennedy because Kennedy, an anti-communist liberal, confronted the Soviets in Cuba and authorized the overthrow of the Castro regime…

Pacepa ran the Romanian intelligence service and has extensive knowledge of Soviet/Russian intelligence activities, especially in the field of disinformation. He maintains that disinformation, which confuses or misleads Western audiences, is the most important area of warfare for America’s enemies. The basic purpose is to convince us that foreign threats do not exist and that those who do expose our enemies are themselves the enemies.

[…]

A Professor at Grove City College, Kengorwrote the foreword to the Pacepa-Rychlakbook,noting how it documents the history of Soviet support for Islamic terrorism “and dual promotion of virulent anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism among Middle East Arabs.” He cites the assertion in the book that the Soviet bloc planted some 4,000 agents of influence in the Islamic world.

Hepatitis B Vaccine Halted After 3 Newborns Die From System Shock

(NaturalNews) The Vietnamese Health Department is coming out and ending the use of hepatitis B vaccines throughout the entire country of Vietnam. The decision was made after three different families lost their babies after the precious young ones were inoculated with standard, proven hepatitis B vaccinations. The three babies died on July 20th in the central province of Quant Tri. The cause of their death is listed as anaphylactic shock. Officials from Vietnam’s National Expanded Program on Immunization reported that the vaccines were not expired, were properly stored, and were properly administered. Awkwardly, the chairperson of the program asked parents to “keep calm and continue vaccinating their children.”

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Health Department has decided to pull the hepatitis B vaccines altogether, also discontinuing the use of two other vaccine lots.

The families of the deceased infants have been offered free medical care from the same hospitals responsible for administering the deadly vaccines to their babies.

Baby Killing Butcher Wins Compo Over Jail’s Halal Failure

A LOGAN baby killer who chopped up his newborn daughter has won a controversial $3000 compensation order because a Maryborough prison failed to prepare meals in accordance with his religious requirements.

News Corp reports that former butcher Raymond Akhtar Ali was fed a vegetarian diet for four months, instead of specially prepared halal meat.

Halal food needs to be blessed, slaughtered, cooked and stored to strict rules.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Ali, 60, was discriminated against on the basis of his religion and ordered the State Government pay $3000 compensation into a trust fund.

Ali is serving a life sentence after he bashed his newborn daughter to death in 1998 before dismembering her, cutting her in half and burying her body at his Logan Village home.

A furious Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie, the Member for Kawana, described Ali as a “monster” and said he’d ordered urgent advice to appeal the decision.

Ali had buried her the baby’s body in a neighbour’s yard to conceal an extramarital affair.

Chahleen Amy Blackwell was killed just moments after her birth at Ali’s family home at Logan Valley, on September 8, 1998.

The child’s mother and the Ali family’s live-in babysitter, Amanda Blackwell, was also convicted of manslaughter.

The infant was bashed, stomped on and sliced in half by her father, a trained butcher who slaughtered goats for the muslim market.

Her sexual organs were also removed and her body buried in a neighbouring property before it was eventually dug up by dogs.

While Ali denied any connection with the birth or death, DNA testing showed he was the baby’s father.

He has repeatedly appealed his conviction but has failed in his legal attempts.

Ali was back in the news last year when he went into vouch for one of Australia’s worst sexual predators…

Victim Kidnapped for Pack Rape

Two Auckland men who kidnapped a woman for sex and participated in a pack rape have been sentenced to 15 and 16 years in jail.

Somalia-born Abdinor Abdi, 29, and Mohamed Bashir, 26, of Mt Roskill, were sentenced this morning at the High Court in Auckland after being found guilty at trial of abduction for the purpose of sex, one count of rape, three counts of being a party to rape and threatening to kill.

The Crown said Abdi and Bashir were among a group of African men who met the victim and some of her friends at the 24/7 bar on Karangahape Rd on June 4, 2011.

The 44-year-old woman got separated from her friends and as she left the bar one of the men dragged her into a car.

The men drove her to a park where one of them tried to kiss her. She tried to escape but they pushed her back into the car.

They later took her to a garage at an unknown address and four of the men raped her on a mattress, one after the other.

Crown prosecutor Sam Wimsett said the victim heard giggling coming from behind a curtain while she was being raped.

When one man was finished he would call for the next man while holding her down.

The woman said she was threatened with death if she did not dance naked in front of the group of men and she was forced to perform oral sex.

Abdi raped her twice and the other offender, Mohammed Bashir, raped her once.

The two other rapists have not been identified.

The woman’s victim impact statement said she was living in a night shelter at the time of the assault.

She had been left scared and fearful since the ordeal and she had put on 10kg.

“I have been thinking if I get fat no-one will like me and I will be safe,” she said.

She said she told her attackers she would rather be dead than what she was going through.

“I felt degraded as these guys raped me one after the other.”

She said she tried to scream but nothing came out.

Justice Ailsa Duffy said Abdi was not remorseful at all..

He had suggested he had been prosecuted because of his race and because the woman wanted a payout.

As the victim’s statement was read to the court, Abdi called from the dock: “Come on, man, she’s 45 years old.”

The judge said pack rape was viewed seriously by the courts as it involved people encouraging each other to reject normal standards of decency.

She said from what Abdi had revealed of himself in his pre-sentence report, a minimum term of imprisonment was required.

She jailed him for 16 years with a minimum non-parole period of eight years.

Bashir was sentenced to 15 years with a minimum non-parole period of 7 1/2 years.

Luis Fleischman: Protests in Brazil and Turkey and Geo-Political Projections

Since last May there have been large, grassroots protests in both Brazil and Turkey.

There are similarities between both countries in that each enjoys economic prosperity. In addition, the political parties that both Brazilian president Rousseff and Turkish president, represent have been ruling with overwhelming majorities for 10 years or more.

By the same token, the unprecedented period of economic growth both countries share is translated into national pride and a sense of triumphalism. That feeling of victory and glory leads them to also pursue international ambitions and independent foreign policies. Brazil aspires to obtain a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, as well as becoming a regional leader and enhancing its world status by deepening relations with the Arab and African world (the South-South alliance). Brazil’s conduct of foreign policy intentionally opposes the one conducted by the United States and the West. Likewise, Turkey aspires to become a regional leader in the Middle East as it aspires to establish a sort of Neo-Ottomanism. Turkey would like to become the most dominant and powerful country capable of influencing other countries in the Middle East, particularly the Arab world (which was part of the Turkish-Ottoman empire until WWI)…

Thai Killer Who Stabbed a Friend to Death is Allowed to Stay in Britain Because Being Deported Would be Too Stressful for Him

[WARNING: Disturbing Content.]

Efforts to deport a Thai murderer have failed because judges have ruled it would be ‘stressful’ for him to be returned to his home country.

An immigration tribunal ruled that returning the man who moved to the UK from Thaliand at the age of 13 would breach his right to family life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Instead it ruled that he should be allowed to stay in Britain indefinitely even though he stabbed a friend to death in what the immigration tribunal called an ‘unprovoked attack.’

Tribunal judges also ruled that the man’s identity should be kept secret to protect him despite his criminal past and potential threat to the community.

19 Shocking Examples of How Political Correctness is Destroying America

If you say the “wrong thing” in America today, you could be penalized, fired or even taken to court. Political correctness is running rampant, and it is absolutely destroying this nation. In his novel1984, George Orwell imagined a future world where speech was greatly restricted. He called that the language that the totalitarian state in his novel created “Newspeak”, and it bears a striking resemblance to the political correctness that we see in America right now. According to Wikipedia, Newspeak is “a reduced language created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit free thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, peace, etc. Any form of thought alternative to the party’s construct is classified as ‘thoughtcrime.’“ Yes, people are not usually being hauled off to prison for what they are saying just yet, but we are heading down that path. Every single day, the mainstream media in the United States bombards us with subtle messages about what we should believe and what “appropriate speech” consists of. Most of the time, most Americans quietly fall in line with this unwritten speech code. In fact, most of the time we enforce this unwritten speech code among each other. Those that would dare to buck the system are finding out that the consequences can be rather severe. The following are 19 shocking examples of how political correctness is destroying America…

Cherry-Picking ‘Racist’ Outrage in America

There’s nothing that seems to get a liberal more fired up than acts of racism in America. They will go on television or radio or the Internet and bemoan the state of American society. But as we can clearly see from recent examples, not all racists are created equal, and only certain incidents are worthy of their time. If a white kid is beaten up by a black kid (or kids), you can bet you won’t hear a single word of outrage from the left.

So, what exactly does it take to get the left fired up? When Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman and started beating his head into the ground, that was no big deal. But when Zimmerman shot Martin in self defense, then it suddenly became a hate crime. Zimmerman was branded a racist and put on trial in the media before he ever saw a single day in court.
