Gates of Vienna News Feed 1/28/2012A mob of more than 3,000 Muslims attacked Coptic Christians in a village near Alexandria, Egypt, looting businesses and homes and then burning them down. The pretext was an accusation that a Coptic man had an “intimate” photo of a Muslim woman on his cell phone.

In other cell phone news, North Korea has made the possession or use of a cell phone a “war crime” during the period of mourning for the late Dear Leader, Kim Jong-il.

  1. Quote:
sharia is a set of principles that guides Muslims to secure five “protections”: faith, life, family, property, and intellect. In this sense sharia is analogous to the “higher law” background of American Constitutional law. The challenge is in the application.

    Dear Jon,
    I’m not Sharia compliant.
And I never want to be.
In America we acknowledged a “higher law,” but we never imposed it.
What is so much “higher” about a law that allows slavery, rape, plunder and mass murder?
The “higher law” idea was imposed in cases like that of the Amistad.
It contrasts, it does not compare, with Sharia!
    What history do you know?

  2. What we see in Egypt is what happened over the course of several hundred years in the Christian Levant when Islam took over – a gradual destruction of a people , their faith and culture. Replaced by a backward, violent, corrupt and unproductive society.
